Had such a fun night here! Huge shoutout to the lovely staff at the bar?my friend accidentally ordered me a drink I really didn't like (oops), and I felt so bad asking if I could switch it. But the bartender was super generous and understanding, and kindly gave me a sweet tea instead! I was so grateful,it honestly made my day. The staff?s kindness really stood out. Also loved seeing all the cool vintage comics around the place. My friends and I had a great time, and we're definitely coming back to hang out

Great place. I haven't been to too many bars with this kind of set up. Inside are mostly pinball machines, arcades and comics. Outside is where most of the seating is although they have a decent sized bar inside and a few high tops. Food is great. People are great. Good times. Owner is down to Earth and an all around cool guy.

We love finding eclectic spots that offer food, drinks, and some fun games. Since we had a day planned to check out various spots around Atlanta, we decided to order a few things to sample and share. The pretzel was crispy on the outside and soft and perfect on the inside. The tots were plentiful but could have used a little extra seasoning. Our son picked the shrimp and grits with pimento cheese, and he devoured it! He liked it so much that we ended up making a similar dish for Sunday dinner. The bar area

Fun nerdy atmosphere with comic books, pinball machines and a few other games like Pac-Man and NBA. Big drink menu, cocktails were okay but they have lots of beer including local stuff.

This place is SO fun. There are pinball machines and other arcade games to play. And sooooo many comic books available. Menu is a little limited if you are a bit of a picky eater. But they do have vegetarian options. The staff is nice and VERY attentive. Can't wait to come back and actually have dinner and not just a drink.

This is the best pinball place I've ever been to. Machines are kept in great order, the staff is friendly, good vibes, and they do pub food well. Highly recommend!

Went here for an easy dinner and beers while playing some games. Great pinball machines. Well maintained and great selection. They have a few other games like battle pac man and Tekken. Not a huge crowd so we were able to play a lot. Easy to pay as they take quarters and dollars and you can scan. Great draft beer selection. Bar or patio seating. Friendly service. Simple but tasty food. I had a pimento grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon with the seasonal veggies ..braised cabbage. Everything was great

The ambiance of this bar is certainly unique! This place is like the lovechild of a pinball arcade, comic book shop, and bar/eatery. The food and drinks were very satisfying and in my opinion, reasonably priced. The staff AND patrons were all super pleasant and friendly! I really enjoyed my visit here and would highly recommend coming in if my description piques your curiosity!

This place is a haven for those who love good beer, good food, and good times! Their beer selection is impressive, with something for every palate. The food is surprisingly delicious for a bar, and the staff is friendly and attentive. But what really sets this place apart is the incredible collection of arcade games and pinball machines. It's like stepping back in time to the golden age of gaming, but with better beer. Oh, and did I mention the comics? They have walls lined with them! Whether you're a seas

They have added more pinball machines, some games are free...more open room between tables and now you order at a counter (but your food is brought to you) and wait staff still checks on customers at the tables. Large selection of comic books...some collectibles and 2 for $1 with some freebies. The environment is good for families with kids..there are good kids meals. Fun place that is even better than the last time I brought a group there!

Really enjoyed our meal here. We had the vegetarian gyro and it was pretty good. The pinball games are all top tier and the comic selection was dope too. Nice little hidden gem I'd say.

Love this place! First, it's extremely welcoming; the folks here make you feel like a regular and a friend, and they're always simultaneously both ready to help and up for a chat. And for what many may assume to be a run-of-the-mill pub with a food menu, their meals are delicious. I can't express how pleasantly odd it is that my favorite salad in the city (the house salad with blue cheese, apple slices, cashews, and Caesar vinaigrette) is at a spot best known for its arcade and comics. Speaking of the ar

While we only popped in to pick up a to-go order, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was very interesting (definitely in a good way), and when we were able to sit down a get to the food, it was exactly what we had wanted; they even accommodated a couple silly "special requests." We'll definitely have to carve out a few minutes to stop and sit a spell to more greatly appreciate the place . . . and play a few games!! (Hopefully that Pulp Fiction pinball will be up and running. ^_^)

Such an awesome hangout spot with great beer and even better food! From the pinball machines to the comics & graphic novels to the random memorabilia all over the place, My Parents' Basement is such a rad place!

We didn't stay to eat but it was a very versatile place! The assortment of pinball games was amazing and a great comic book shop too! My 2 teenage boys had a blast!

Tonight I decided to treat my husband to a fun night of gaming and so I found my Parent?s Basement. I thought it would be a lot of fun! Well we ordered chicken tenders and a burger and I am sad to say I was completely disappointed. The chicken fingers seemed to be breaded in some type of coating which I think may have been hush puppy. The medium ordered burger was overcooked and the bacon was burnt! The games were average and the ambiance was very nice! I don't think we will return but it seemed quite welc

Such a cool combo of a restaurant, comic book store, arcade, and bar, although it makes it very easy to burn through some money. Salads are solid. Some of the older arcade games are free; others need quarters. They stock local plus hard to find national beers. And they cover both graphic novels and single comic issues.

Took my best friend there for his birthday and we loved it. The burgers were great and the drinks were too. It was fun to play pinball machines and old-school video games. If you are a comic book lover you will love this place too.

Great spot. Clearly a lot of love put into the place. You think you know what to expect if you're looking for places with pinball, comics and food. This place surpasses reasonable expectations. The menu is close to what you expect from a bar, but the food isn't just crappy reheated frozen bar food. There's some care and attention going on in the kitchen. I got two beers and a burger. The burger was damn good, fries were hot. All reasonably priced. Pinball machines were well maintained and plentiful

We were in town for a Sunday college graduation ceremony and needed to fill time between the ceremony and dinner plans. We enjoyed appetizers, drinks and playing games. Fun atmosphere.

This place was very cool and inside is where all the stuff like comics, decorations, and arcade games are. Arcade games were like a dollar (dollar bill or quarters are accepted) and then there are some cool game machines that are free to play. Pretty chill workers and prices are decent. Only thing i didn't really like was when you order you are requested to go up to this little table where you get your own water, forks, spoons, sauce, napkins, etc. that's not even a bad thing it's just not something I liked

I enjoyed this place! I had the roast beef sandwich and side of mash potatoes. The sandwich was delicious?? but the mashed potatoes were cold. My husband got the chicken tenders; he said they were basic. I love the atmosphere and beer selection. THE VIDEO GAMES AND COMICS WERE MY FAVORITE My bartender was Great! I'll be returning!

First time going, it's a cool concept having a comic book shop, pinball, food and drinks all in one. (Wish the foo fighters game had been working!) Pinball is 1.00 a play which is kind of pricey, if you do 2.00 you get 3 plays. Some take quarters, some take dollars. They also have vegan food which is pretty great so I got the vegan gyro and it was pretty solid. Tots were crispy and nice! Beer selection has a lot of IPAs, but I got The Veil Luxorious luxury Vol 13 which was pretty good. Not a bad date night

Fun place to bring kids or just adults. Pretty good food (we mainly had appetizers) and beer selections. Got to sit next to the fire so that was great. Fun time with kids playing pinball. They have at least 10+ pinball machines and other arcade games. One of the machines ate a couple of quad but oh, well. Didn't check out their comics but there were a lot. Awesome!

The food is high-quality bar food. I love all of the games and comics. It really feels like being in a basement.

This place was neat with a cool, retro atmosphere. The outdoor seating area was really cool with two fireplaces and a heater. Ordering was easy and service consists only of bringing out your food and drinks. Refills, napkins, to go boxes, etc. was self-serve. One family brought their dog which was cool. The chips and queso were just ok. The chips were stale honestly. The grilled cheese, tater tots, and breakfast burrito was excellent. The pancake was ok. The meatloaf was good but really dry. The burgers we

All of the around 20 pinball machines are in working order and fun to play! Wish there were more old machines but I'm happy to see so many machines in one place. Good selection of local beer and a lot of seating.

Awesome place, what an awesome vibe I never thought I'd get to experience

Basically a pub + arcade + comic book store all wrapped together in one place; easily my most-visited local joint, because they always have great beer on tap and plenty of great vegan dishes to choose from

Excellent barcade. Quite a few pinball machines to choose from. There are a handful of arcade cabinets too. About half of the space is a comic book store. Outdoor seating with a few food items to compliment the drinks. Had a great time!

This was the single greatest place I have ever been in my entire life. The food was incredible, I've never had grits like that in my life, let alone after spending a hundred dollars on new comics. I feel like I dreamed this entire experience. I love this place.

10/10 would recommend! We went here for the first time last weekend and WOW! around every corner was something else exciting. Pinball, Dig Dug, Galatica, Mrs. Pac Man, and other throw back arcade games. They have comic books, Dungeons and Dragons items for sale, and other fun "nerdy" items for sale. Food is dive-y, drinks are good, atmosphere is amazing! I am certain that before 2020 this place was a hot spot for a fun crowd. The patio is half open air and half semi-enclosed. Theres a fire place and gre

WoW! Now THIS. Is a unique place. Very impressive! Pinball machines, video games, a bar, delicious eats and... (wait for it) Comic books! Pops! Toys! Statues! Graphic Novels! So many wonderful things!! And a great & friendly staff! Fantastic place. I can't wait to go back!!

Love this place. Great beer, food, games, atmosphere. People here are top notch.

My Parent's Basement is a great place! The food and service is really good but the best part is the comic books and pinball machines! Perfect place to just grab a drink with some friends and enjoy the atmosphere! It's also very family friendly so there is some fun for everyone.

Very family friendly , parking can be tight depending on what time you come. The servers are friendly and the food comes in a timely manner. Not much of a wait , the arcades are definitely nostalgic ! Very fun chill environment. Pretty awesome that they have heaters outside if you'd like to dine in the patio.

I'm an out-of-town-er visiting the area and stumbled upon this establishment! Super cool! It was pretty busy for being 4pm, but I quickly understood why. They have a solid selection of merchandise to purchase, including comic books (obviously), D&D stuff, manga, and more. They also had arcade games and pinball. From what I observed, some of the arcade games were free to play, but pinball cost money. I played some vintage Ms Pacman (and lost ??) The bar was well staffed and well stocked. I ordered a Flower

This place never disappoints with great food and excellent staff! It's a haven for comic book and pinball lovers and they have an amazing patio you can bring the dog to. Brunch drinks are delicious too. Most recently they introduced tetras tots! Delicious and fun for the adult thats a kid at heart!

Fun, especially for date night. If you NEED a table inside, that can be a little tricky, if high top isnt an option. The bread pudding is worth going back for, repeatedly. The claw machine is bullshit. Pinball was great!

Very cool vibe. We were not expecting much from the outside, but inside there are many pinball machines and comic books. The food was delicious and a good variety of beer and drinks. Very old building with rustic charm!

I like pinball and I like craft beer. MPB scratches the itch for both very well. Great craft beer list and good selection of modern and vintage pinball machines which are always kept in good working order and, if there is an issue they are repaired quickly.

Comics, Beer, Food, and Pinball!! Wonderful experience at MPB! The meatloaf sandwich was delicious. The side salad was perfect with the balsamic vinaigrette. The juicy, hazy IPA was local and terrific! I accidentally dropped my beer onto the floor. I went to the bar and asked for towels and explained the situation. A bartender flew over there and cleaned it up quickly, and even offered me a replacement. I didn't deserve the beer, but I really appreciated it! Great times at MPB!

this place is great. all the food is delicious & the burger revived me from the dead. 10/10

Good food, service, & atmosphere. I love that they have comic books & pinball machines-- makes it unique. Not much inside seating but patio is really nice & has 2 fireplaces. Parking is easy.

Had a great time checking out this shop for the first time after meaning to get there for years. Not a huge variety compared to some shops, but much better indie comic selection. And you cant get a beer while you read at the other places so.

Tried the Wyder's cider which had a raspberry flavor to it. Really nice. Great staff and a lot of pinball machines to choose from. They have a patio to sit and eat though we sat at the bar.

This place is pretty neat! They have a small selection of comics, toys and pin ball machines. They have a bar and food as well. The food is alright, it could be better. I dont drink so I can't review the alcohol. The service was very good and friendly. I would recommend anyone to come check it out! ??

Funky comic book store, restaurant, bar, arcade and hangout. Wish they had more variety and selections in their food menu and wish they offered a soup. Our book club meets there monthly and so do a lot of other board game clubs and book clubs.

Great place for Comic Book Fanatics! Self Serving pub really feels like your parents basement. Staff is friendly. Pub food is decent. Great patio seating. Pinball games were a blast. Check it out!

An establishment created by people who love food and comic books, and really appeals to the dork in all of us. Pinball machines and beer make this the perfect place to bring kids to play while parents can sit and socialize. Definitely worth the trip if you have never been!

The experience was laid back. I love the old school music! The arcade and comic magazines was classic. I'll definitely return with my boys and ket them have at it while I have a beer lol! The Philly cheesesteak lacked onions they were tiny. The cheese wiz was salty but it was decent. The bun was toasted and fresh. The fries were hot and fresh. The mac was a NO. Louis I think bartender was A1. He's a vibe lol! I will go back for something basic Like tacos lol.

Simple menu with good pub eats and sizable drinks selection. Cozy and quirky vibes. Great place for lovers of comics and games to gather in ATL

We had a party of almost 20, and they were able to accommodate us and with great service. The food was just ok, I did enjoy the bacon and grits. We sat outside and it was wonderful. We have actually had several brunches here and will continue to come back.

This establishment is pretty amazing and the food I ordered was very delicious. Yo, the Mac n Cheese was off the chain. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood. ??

This place was phenomenal!! Loved the low key vibe and set up. Lots of pinball machines to try out. Make sure you come with some cash/change. So much fun with a group of friends! They also had comic books and some art. The food was surprisingly delicious! I loved their JJ burger and hush puppies, so yum. They had a nice selection of drinks at the bar as well. Really enjoyed their IPAs. Service was great, everyone was friendly, a low key vibe with lots of different people. Can't wait to come back again and i

The BEST place in the area for good beer, pinball, arcade and comic books. It's super relaxed and friendly here so if you're a local or just in the area then this place is a MUST.

Vegan grilled "chicken" salad sandwich very good. Good lite snack and eat better I got the sauted spinach. I think something crossed contaminated or maybe I should gotten the gluten free bread. I say that because I'm itching. Otherwise ai would have given it 5 stars.

The vibe here is always fun! The pinball machines are varied, comics around, lighting and mood give local bar, but the food is surprisingly delicious! The staff seem really cool. Overall great place to hang!

Such a gem of a place, cool little comic shop/bar, with vegan options on the menu, and an awesome selection of pinball games.

Very friendly restaurant staff, safe dining with lots of outdoor, covered seating and many games offered inside. Some of the video games we free but none of the pinball games were so I didn't play anything. (Be nice if just one pinball was on freeplay.) Large collection of comic books and tons of decorations/figurines all over inside to look at while waiting for your food.

Great food, fantastic beer selection, and the kitchen is open late (til 10:45pm on a Monday). I had the wild mushroom hoagie with chicken added, spaghetti squash oin the side. Friendly staff, Angelica was my bartender.

Love the space, great beer selection, and good food. Comics, pin ball, and outstanding arcade game selection.

Vintage arcade games to time travel back to your younger years. A fun place to enjoy a trip down memory lane that will almost guarantee to make you look up buying an arcade for your basement! Lots of comic books too.

I love this place. The games, the ambiance and the staff are all great. Also a good beer section is good. Sadly that's where it ends. My wife and I got cocktails and food last night and it was not great. I got the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was sad. Just 2 small pieces of chicken between 2 buns... no sauce, no other items... that's it and the tots (tots were good thou). Cocktails are small and unexciting. Again, I love this place. Food use to be better. Probably won't eat here again. But I'll come b

The beer was good and cold, the food was not... The kitchen was having a bad night :( but they took some off the bill to make up for it. Took 2 hours to get food And nobody got what they asked for. But on the upside we had fun with our friends. And the server was very nice and was trying very hard. I would go back for another try to see how it is on a great night.

This is a "niche place" meaning if youre in that niche its like 6 STARS. I you're just looking for food n drink then less so. The niche is pinball mschines n comics n games. The main room was really full so it clearly has a following. The ample patio where u sit to dine was nice n had two cozy roaring fire places. But i got the sense the food was really a subsidiary part of the business model. My curry was decent. My friends burger just okay. If i were a games fan id be there every night. If you're not the

Really good! Chicken tenders were a little dry but everyone was so nice and the atmosphere is perfect.

The music was loud. The cheesestake sandwich was disappointing because it was salty and served on hot dog bun. I expected more for $13.00. The bread pudding was good.

Finally got to try this place out, and I shall return. Ordered the vegan Ruben to go and was pleasantly impressed. Needed sauce for the fries and wished they gave more fries (off for me bc I usually don't eat all my fries lol). Def want to try more things on the menu and would like to experience dinning in.

Fun place with a good beer selection, good pub food including several vegan selections. The fun comes in the form of many pinball machines, arcade games, and comic books.

This place RULES! Food is soooo good and so many cute games

Wonderful bar with a seriously nerdy and friendly atmosphere. Can talk to anyone, barkeep/watress/waiter/patron. Delicious food and ample beer selections. Niche cocktails but still perfectly crafted. Overall the best bar in the area, but also family friendly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Hands down my favorite bar in Atl!! A comic book Shop and pub, what more could you ask for? Great drink selections, and serves food as well. Great atmosphere, so glad I found this place!

Very cool place! Comics, a bar, arcade games, food (vegan options!) Service is really laid back & cool too. The guy at the counter made sure I could drink the beers I was interested in- checked ingredients to be sure I wasn't allergic. I didn't ask him too. He was just kind. I recommend.

I had the Rueben and it was really really good! Also the place is so chill. Walk around, check out the comics while drinking a beer and play the free arcade games. Can't be beat!!!

Nice is you're into comics..arcade..and action figures.. cool people

Really good quick bar food. Fast service good servers outdoor seating

Sweet selection of pinball machines and beers. Can't say anything about the food as I did not have any on our visit. Good, well maintained games, we will be back!

Great service and food. Great store and games. I counted eleven pinball tables when we were there. Our office department drove across town for an extended lunch here. You should go!

Had a local Pilsner, ate a steak quesadilla, and ordered the Umberella Academy book series!! I'm hooked! Food and beer were both amazing. Service was great.

Went during the day around 3:30. The service was absolutely great. The lemon mic drop drink was awesome. You can sit inside or outside. There are free old school arcade games to play & tons of comic books you can purchase. Didn't get to try the food but will definitely go back.

Brought my son here for his birthday. Very friendly staff and great service! Comic books and pinball machines were a +!

Very cool atmosphere, great beer selection, and has arcade games on free play mode to play.

A local jewel. The space is inviting and staff is friendly. A wide selection of pinball machines is great to see along with some solid arcade choices. Everything I've ever had here was delicious. Perfect for a casual date night with a fellow nerd or a night out with the homies.

check out their vegan gyro its soo good!!!! veg options great beer selection good neighborhood spot!

This place is AWESOME!!! Inside is super cool, outside seating is really nice and the food was amazing!!

Very fun and laid backed place. The food was delicious and the pinball fun.

Amazing place! Great environment, nice selections of beer, good option of food (even veggie) and awesome geek decoration. The staff is super friendly and the owners are great people!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
