Customer Reviews

Mr. Gatti's in New Iberia offers an all-you-can-eat experience with a pizza, pasta, and salad bar. While the food might be somewhat below average, the service is below standard. The staff was less than welcoming and downright rude on our last visit. In fact, 2 female employees were in the bathroom when i went in to wash my hands, both in stalls, both flushed, and both walked out without washing their hands, DISGUSTING! The only highlight here is the game room,

The food was hot and fresh. But I have no idea what's going on in the back because they all yell at each other there is so much tension you could feel it no one is smiling no on looks like they wanna be there. I feel bad for the lady with no teeth because she kept getting yelled at by the lady that was serving me older lady as well. Idk. That was our experience

Totally Disgusting ?? This is a miserable restaurant. There was no happiness or joy. It should be called Rude, Sad & Dry Pizza ?? The lady that chose not to greet us did so with gloves that were dirty from tossing the salad. She began to ring us up while wearing the lettuce gloves. She then hands us our drink cups with bonus salad material, not requested, but included. The restaurant was not overly gross, but it also didn't scream of cleanliness. Pizza was horrible. Service Was Worse Rude, Dry & Sad

So many rules, couldn't sit with my family if I didn't pay even though I wasn't going to eat. Workers were so rude. Couldn't bring a birthday cake in the resturant. Some of the maccoronni in freezer burnt. Food left out too long turned stiff. A lot more problems

Was there with a church group. One of our members was told to leave because she didn't have a meal although the room was set for the meeting and several of us also did not have a meal or even a drink. The female manager, blonde and rude, made our guest leave. Then as we were leaving, she cut me off in the parking lot, dd mouthed what seemed like rude words and sped off in front of me. Being in the service industry, she should not have temper tantrums or take her Karen moments out on the patrons of this fi

Pizza was pretty tasty. My husband was happy to see thin crust. It does make it a little sloppier to eat. Attentive & personable service. Would recommend if in the area.

After pre ordering and paying for $50 of Togo pizza, my husband, son, And daughter wanted to go play games together for my daughters birthday , we have a 3 year old son that is hard to take out places with us, so to make it easier for all, we were going to just grab our food Togo, Expecting us to leave knowing we already purchased $50 worth of pizza. I paid the $40 to play the games ware we spent a few hundred as well, The tacky., poor management and customer service is a big disappointment for Mr. Ga

Wonderful ! Mr. Gattis is smoked provolone on the best crust and awesome sauce ! Reminded me of home in Austin tx

The pizza tastes like everything is low quality. We really only go when the kids specifically ask for it. That said, the workers have always been nice and helpful. The gaming area is better than anything else I'm aware of in New Iberia. Overall, I'd say you go there so the kids can have a good time, and the workers are nice. Just don't expect much from the food.

We are in new Iberia Work construction on US one of the guys on my crew was his birthday so we took him out to dinner. We got there at 7:10 PM for an all you can eat salad bar. It sure is funny they have to make it for you on a small saucer Not a dinner plate like most Salad bars do. All you can eat pasta yeah right basically season tomato sauce with a little bit of hamburger in it very bland. Took three bites slid it to the side. As far as the pizza goes, they had five pizzas on the buffet. They were a var

To start it was myself and 2 kids and my mother that went to eat. I had already eaten at home so my mom was buying the lunch for her and her grand babies. They would not allow me in to go sit and eat with them because I didn't want to pay 15$ to just sit and watch them eat. We then proceed to say well can we at least let the kids go play the games in the back. Still the answer was NO I still had to pay to basically enter all the way into the building! I'm sorry but this is ridiculous! I told them they could

The manager and two other workers was back there fixing pizza without gloves and when I ask he said it's not mandatory to wear them because n a restaurant why not it need to be some have gloves and some don't even the manager was grabbing that cheese with his hand and the other two fixing pizza with no glove is cross contamination is important right so I have the right to not let them fix my pizza

Pretty expensive for halfway decent buffet Pizza.

The people behind the counter looked so miserable to be there. The lady was tossing the salad, turned around to checked us out then went back to her salad without ever changing her gloves. She put pieces of salad on our cups. So gross! The pizza was horrible, very dry. It took forever just to get things replenished. The only person there with a smile was the girl bussing the tables. Definitely won't ever be coming back here again.

Have suitable expectations and you probably wont be very disappointed. Food is mediocre but decent, staff was friendly . Atmosphere...its a place to sit and eat pizza from a buffet .

Place has been redone recently. Pizza is still great. It still gets packed. They allow you to order your own pizza but sometimes you can't get it cause it's so busy so we order when we first buy our buffet then we each go up and reorder to make sure we get it!

Inconsistency is the only issue we've experienced. The food is great, always, but depending on which crew is working, you may have entirely different experiences one visit to the next. My most recent visit witnessed a crew doing the bare minimum to keep it going. The buffet was skimpy and they were reheating pizzas to make them look fresh. During my second to last visit, the buffet was stocked, pizzas in and out of the oven with a great variety. I would still definitely recommend Gatti's though.

Mr Gatti's is always good pizza me and the grandkids often play games in the back

Compared to Baton Rouge, they do not allow you to fix your own salad. The person in charge of that was not very friendly and would not let me have my own cup of water, insinuating I would be stealing drink, which in her defense probably happens a lot. The place wasn't very clean either. I'll continue to visit BR location, but doubtful this New Iberia one.

It was a great experience. The buffet is a great price and their very good at sanitizing their location. The only complaint I have was there was a few games in the arcade that needed some service done on them. Other than that one minor detail, our kids had a great time.

Took my granddaughter for an outing. She attempted to play skeet ball; however, there were no balls. They didn't credit her for the game. She played another game and won six tickets. The attendant scanned five out of the six. She couldn't remember how many tickets my granddaughter had and refused to recount them. Business in the game room was so slow you had to go find the attendant. Very unfriendly attendant.

Brings back memories of when they were in Lafayette on the north side

They say some good things never change. That should definitely be applied to Mr. Gatti's. Spaghetti, pizza, salad bar, and dessert on a buffet for $9.99?! Food was amazing, price was amazing, and everyone was terrific and nice.

Probably one of my most nostalgic childhood favorites. The service is still impeccable. The food is exactly the same high quality as before. Gatti Land is still top notch and perfect for families with children. Apparently the token system is being replaced with credit card style system to prevent germs. I'd say this chain needs to keep making wholesome and meaningful decisions to please the public. That's why they are still the best pizza buffet you can find.

Haven't been there in years, the prices are higher and there was less food to choose from and the service sucked, was NOT what we were expecting at all, they really need to step it up and the bathroom was filthy, do NOT recommend, we will NOT be returning....... not even if the food was free

I would give 5 stars because my kids love this place. Pizza is great! We always would go. I slowed down from going because I was accused of not paying like id just be at the bar with my kids stealing pizza. After saying nicely, after capped loudly...no mam I paid she still didn't believe me and had to call everyone from the back. I felt Terrible! I don't know if it was because I'm African American or because I'm plus sized. But she definitely had the wrong one.. there's ways to handle things. Pull me to sid

Love pizza when it's fresh and they put some out!! Waited for over an hour and a half for some cinnamon sticks. When we asked about them they said no we can't we have orders to make. So they got my money and never worried about pleasing the paying customers present. Plus all the games were broken. I will have to find a new place for my family to eat and play games because they are off my list. As soon as I was waited on I felt bad attitude from the the girl at the front counter with nails so long it ju

No one knew to serve theirselves. I was standing there with a 2 year old that had just awoken fully charged up and finally we were told help yourself and throw the serving spatula in the bucket at the end. I did not know to buy my tickets at the buffet checkout so someone helped me at the machine in the game room. There isn't really anything much for a toddler there tho. I was a little let down. But the service and workers were nice.

This place is sad and run down. Most of the staff are unfriendly. You get the feeling that they don't really care about the place. Everything seems to be done with this least amount of care, effort and pride. I really wish this was a nicer place because people would definitely take their kids more often. We tend to try Gatti's once every few months to see if they have improved. It's really a disappointment because this basically the only place of it's kind in town.

Friday night @ about 7:30 my boyfriend and i went to eat at MR. Gattis and while we were standing in line to wait to get to the paying counter i was observing what was going on and they had a white girl employee she politely asked her co worker which was a black girl a simple question and the black girl started yelling at her for no reason at all and that's not how you treat a co worker or employee i find that very uncalled for!!!!!!! Second they were out of my mac and cheese i liked, the salad looked horri

Today my kids and I dined in at Mr. Gatti's for the first time. Right after paying I realized that my oldest son would not eat because he had taken his meds. The cashier explained that anyone sitting at a table must pay for a buffet, then stepped off to go and ask management. To my surprise, the owner comes from the BOH and introduces himself. Though it was against policy regulations, he understood the situation and let me take my son's dinner home. I am thankful for his generosity, but it is his consumer r

I promise the garlic on the pizza taste old and the pizza smells like a bad shoe. I came here after reading one review and I do not recommend. The pizza is thin small and not that great at all.

We went to eat pretty early Saturday night. The food was a little old, but usually it's not that bad. Idk why it was like that. I really wanted to give 3 1/2 stars. The kids enjoyed the games as usual.

I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I WAS ABLE TO. I am never one to complain, but I am appalled! My S/O was on his lunch break and we decided to eat here. I had already eaten but still wanted to sit and talk with him because it was also our anniversary. I was told by one of the cooks that I could not sit at the table with him UNLESS I PAID FOR A BUFFET. I explained to him that I was not hungry and he told me that I had to go sit BY THE DOOR AND WAIT FOR HIM TO FINISH! I had to spend $10 just to SIT AT A TABLE! I co

The place is going downhill fast , 90 percent of the games are broken. I asked how long for some more macaroni, the lady said 10 min , we were there at least 30 min and they never but macaroni back on the buffet, so I told my lil girl we just have to drive and go to the Go Kart Ranch next time she want to eat and play

The pepperoni /sausage pizza was magnificently prepared to my taste . I consider three things when purchasing pizza . Price , Presentation and Taste . To me they scored a 10+ in all categories . Awesomely Served !!!

This place had lots of pizza choices! We ate and enjoyed the arcade after. The arcade was easy to get the cards and the game choices were awesome. Got some good prizes!

The servers are rude. I understand there are rules about ages and who can stay and sit and who can't but they need to be taught etticit if they're going to continue to enforce these strict rules at a family atmosphere restaurant.

Pizza was good. Dessert pizza was to die for. If you don't want a crowd or kids running around, go during lunch, during week.

Mr. Ghattis food is very fresh and delicious. I'm not a huge pizza fan. The pieces I ate was very good..their spaghetti is awesome.their salad super fresh. Their staff was outstanding.Friendly. efficient.and smiled all the time. They treat their customers with respect. And if you're like me. Ask about your senior citizen discount.im 63 .and my discount was applied. Mr.Ghattis gets a 10 plus in my book..

I love the pizza!! For $20 you can dine in for two! If they don't have the pizza you want, they will make it for you! Amazing dessert options and the arcade is a must if you have little children.

It's a pizza buffet... Pizza is good and it's fairly quiet for lunch. That's all I can really say about it.

It was me and my wife first time at Mr.Gatti's we are a black and white couple and we was just standing there for about 4min and the lil big girl that works there looked at me and my wife and said(we about to close in for minutes) this is not the way you greet customers even though they were about to close in 8 to 9 minutes. I didn't like the way I was greeted so we did not eat there.

We ate here several months ago & the pizza / crust was pretty good BUT we ate here for lunch Saturday Oct 28, 2017 and the crust was hard as a brick!! The pizza was cold too. Doubt we will ever go back.

The pizza was good but not great. The kids had a blast playing. We were there for a birthday party and everyone seemed to have a good time.

It's a cheap buffet, so know what you are getting into. Delicious, great, cheap pizza. Very satisfied with the whole experience.

Pizza was alright, much better after the out a fresh batch out. Place is pretty old and run down

I grew up going to Mr Gatti's back before it had a playground. It is not the same anymore the pizza it horrible, dirty, and slow. Everything in the place is a mess and just a great place to get your kid sick! Trust me this place is a rat hole now.

It was alright. Tho I sat at the ticket counter in the arcade for like 10 minutes before an employee came. I should've just taken the prizes I wanted at that point.

Good family place and really nice people. Can't wait to go back with the kids

It was a very surprising Awesome pizza place. Surprisingly for being in New Iberia! Price little over $10, but many many pizzas and options to choose from! Love this place!

They've been out of anchovies for over a month they're now dead to me. Update they now have anchovies, but they're now refusing to make a pizza with them for the buffet. They're now dead to me.

The food waa nasty the service was not good. They acted like they didn't want us there. I also bruised my mouth on the pizza crust. Will never go there again. There were flies at the windows.

Service was good pizza was delicious. Gonna give it another try soon.

Still love the salad as much as I did 30 years ago. They also made a pizza with anchovies just for me!

Very good customer service from all the employees that served us. The good and very fresh. The restaurant was clean and the busser kept up very well with cleaning tables.

Staff didn't seem ready for customers at 11am. No sign on door about required masks, has to wait for someone to serve my salad, no thin pizza or dessert pizzas made, staff seemed lazy & uninterested. Pizza, not so good either.

Meh..boring buffet. Same three kinds of pizzas. Don't remember it being this blah.

Couldn't even sit with my family while they ate they told me if I didn't buy anything I could even come in. I'm on a strict diet can't eat anything in Gattis. If I could give them a 0 I would the one in Mew Iberia.

Good value food, not fancy just a cheap pizza meal that tastes better than you'd expect for the price.

My 1st time coming here, I waited a few minutes, finally the cashier comes to me, I asked her what to do it's my 1st time here, she chuckles then says..."we close in 4 minutes" . Okayyy smh... Poor customer service!!

Food was always good but the games have up them was always broken but haven't been there in years

IMy child is 3, she loves the place. Every time we go most are the games are broken. I think it's time for them to update the games.

we love to take our kids here and support a local small business. They have also recently remodeled and it looks great!

Wide selection of pizzas as well as salad, spaghetti and macaroni all included in an affordable all-you-can-eat buffet. Also includes an arcade for your kids to play in.

A little family time. Haven't been here in so long. Had an awesome time with great pizza.

LOVE there food n price's r Great for Family????

I had an great experience! Please try the Spice Spaghetti ??. It's the Perfect Dish...

Food was fresh and very good also service was great I asked for a special pizza and it was made right away

Past and salad were excellent, pizza was OK. Spicy spaghetti was very spicy!

The pizza was good the staff was awesome made our pizza we like will go back

Great food! Ranch is amazing here!!!! Always our go to date night treat! Love the environment!

Love this place and will recommend it to anyone.

Visited a couple of years ago and the games are so out of date. There was hardly any prizes. The buffet was good.

Pizza was hard and no sweet tea

It was awsome we got to play games and they was serving pizza after pizza and the pizza was super good

It was good wish we had one in Lewisburg Tn

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
