Mount Airy Lanes is a nice family duckpin bowling establishment. It's a relaxed environment which is good for both adults and kids. The staff treats everyone as a friend in a neighborly way. The lanes are in good shape in a neat, clean, and well-maintained place. I haven't tried the snack bar, so I can't comment on it, but otherwise I'd highly recommend this as a good place to bowl.
Just minutes off I70, great place to take your family regardless of ages, or an outing with friends to fill up an hour or two of fun. They just remodeled so have a new fresh look the staff are great. Amazing food surprising for a bowling alley and plenty of beer choices to choose from or if your looking for a mixed drinks they have a great variety to pick from. Small local business that puts it heart and sole back into the community. So if your looking for something fun to do rain or shine give them a tr
Super fun place to socialize with friends. The pulled pork sandwich on Rye bread is to die for. The food is always Fire delicious.
Cute place for kids! We went for a 2nd birthday party and the kids had a blast! There were plenty of lanes and the stands for kids.
A fantastic vintage duckpin bowling alley with great charm! Excellent service, delicious food, and friendly people make it a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Went for my mother-in-law?s birthday and it was so wonderful to be able to walk in and have a cake and not told that I wasn't allowed to bring it in. I completely understand why this place is such a huge hit. Super friendly staff and such a great family Environment. Totally looking forward to the next bowling session.
Not bad, but I don't recommend it for young kids (mine are 3 and 5). It is tight between lanes so not much space to ourselves. It was $60 for a 2 hour rental with shoes. It was our first time and no one offered to show us around or help us get started. It may be more fun for older kids or regular duck pin bowlers.
Workers where very helpful. Women's bathroom was wonderful. My grandkids, husband and I had so much fun candle pin bowling. We will return!
Great place for a date night. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a blast duck bowling!
I've been here many times over the years! Fun place, family friendly, elevated menu, craft beers and other libations. Go!
We read good reviews about Mt Airy Bowling Lanes and they didn't do them justice. This was great place to to take the family for a little fun! We went midday, so there was no crowd. We also called ahead asking about available bumper guards & ball ramp. Not only did they happily accommodate, they had them set up and ready for us when we got there!! Chrissy got us checked in, answered our questions, and patiently showed us how the equipment worked. The kids liked it, the Wife and I loved it, we'll absolute g
Everyone was sweet and caring very fun place to go with good energy will recommend!!!
The new upgrades are incredible. The food is unreal. And the lanes are phenomenal.
This place is really fun. I go there just for the arcade games, but if I do go actually bowling I like doing it basketball style.
The best place in Mount Airy to go to for entertainment and drinks. If the affection you're greeted upon entry isn't enough to sell you, the food and craft drinks will captivate you. A visit at Lane 13 will please any craft beer or mixed drink connoisseur. Not to mention the food served is NOT your traditional ?bowling alley? meals, they're each rustic and hand crafted; guaranteed to please - Their one of a kind sauces are *chefs kiss*. If you're looking for a regular spot to go to Mount Airy Lanes is it!!
First time visit. Everything was great. Shoes were a bit well loved, but beyond that no complaint. I look forward to next time
We LOVE Mount Airy Bowling. We have hosted several birthday parties for our kids here over the years.
I cannot say enough amazing things about Alyson and her crew at Mt. Airy Lanes. My husband and I had our wedding afterparty here tonight and they were able to easily accommodate over 100 people and a live band for us with ZERO issues. The food, perfect. The drinks, perfect. They even decorated for us prior to the party and it was also? PERFECT. Every guest who came up to me was so impressed and complimentary about the space and the staff. Working with them throughout the whole planning process was an absolu
Was fun and the staff were very pleasant. Highly recommend!
Great people working here! Thank you! the kids had a wonderful time
Clean, friendly, safe atmosphere. Clean and recently remodeled bathrooms. Bumper lanes for kids. Kind employees.
Amazing place! Totally worth going, we did the 2 hour unlimited for all of the kids to play. The staff is super sweet, very accommodating, their menu and food is great. I can't think of anything but good things to say! Thank you for making our daughters birthday so great!
I'd like to say it is very nostalgic for me to walk into this establishment. I grew up playing Duckpin Bowling as a kid down in Glenmont. The wife and I popped in for a pizza. The food is very good. The staff is excellent and very attentive. The owner came by to check on us and to ask us how our meal was. If you get the chance to stop in to do a little bowling or just grab a pizza, I highly suggest you do so. great atmosphere, great people.
Duckpin bowling is alive and well with nice lanes and friendly service. However, reservations are required, and it is expensive!
My sons and I randomly showed up to bowl and although you are supposed to make reservations they said, they squeezed me in since we got there at open and only wanted to bowl for a small amount of time. It was my boys first time and it was perfect. We will be sure to return, Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great place for kids and parents duck pins only so be aware of that, love this place because it's seems like it's geared for small children to have fun.
Great place for duckpin bowling. Great staff, too.
Reserved lanes a week before for my daughter's birthday party. They called the day of to confirm. They are also very prompt to respond to email inquiries. We had a great time and the staff was very helpful and attentive. They had no problem with me bringing my own cake in and even offered to supply plates, knife and a lighter. We have been here for my daughter's last three birthdays and we love it! It isn't updated but that's what I love about it. Old charm when all these other places are getting too fancy.
Great place for bowling. My nieces and nephew's love it here (all under 7). The staff are great and let the kids have a good time. The food/drink counter got pretty overwhelmed. And I wish the pizza was better
This was a bucket list item for me?.duckpin bowling! My wife knew this, and found Mt. Airy lanes happened to be on the way to our trip to Ocean City. Being from western Pa, I was a ten pin bowler for a long time. There are no duck pin lanes where we live. Mt. Airy lanes was perfect! Got a lane quickly, and paid $11 for an hour on a Saturday afternoon, a good deal! Got three games in. And probably could have bowled another in the time I had left. The place was clean, lanes in good condition, and I roll
This place is the best! Glorious food to the max always creative ideas and a solid squad that makes it go! Fun bowling always to go with it! Don't pay attention to the Shaffer review she delusional and entitled lol
Great place and awesome people. I take my grandkids and they absolutely love it. Atmosphere is relaxed, fun and family oriented. Prices are reasonable and the food is good, especially the pizza. Everyone there is so nice, and they go out of their way to make your experience a great one! The entire place is very clean, and is great for a daytime or night activity, a family or child's party or a way to get out and get some exercise. I definitely recommend this place **A+**A+ **A+
My kids love it here! It's just the right size. As in kids can walk to get their own snaks and you can keep an eye on them. They have a bar and small arcade, perfect. Staff is wonderful too. Warning ... if school is out, call ahead and reserve a lane. Last visit, all lanes were full. The staff managed to squeeze us in b/w reservations. Worked out great.
It was fun. First time with small balls.
Having tried out the bowling alley at Mt. Airy, I must say that the vintage charm of the old city and its serene surroundings really added to the experience. It's definitely a top pick for hosting kids' parties, as the ambiance is just right for them. However, the one drawback I noticed was the manual reset required after each player's turn. This process felt a bit cumbersome and could be a potential hiccup in the overall enjoyment. Despite that, if you're looking for a great place for kids' parties in a pe
This place is great. Got there semi early on a Friday evening and played for a little over an hour. My 4 year old loved it and she loved getting to keep score at the "command center". It's old school but that's part of the charm.
I've been going to this alley for a very long time. Great atmosphere and the staff of absolutely awesome! The food is amazing and a gem in Mt Airy area. Wednesday I got pizza for the first time ever, THE ABSOLUTE BEST PIZZA IVE EVER HAD! I'm very picky when it comes to pizza so I'm always hesitant on buying it from somewhere new even if the rest of the menu is delish! If you are looking for great food and pizza look no further than Mt Airy Lanes! Trust me!
Duckpin bowling, what's not to like!? ?? They also have a full bar with a decent selection of craft beers. There's also a selection of bar food if you get hungry. It can get crowded on weekends, so a reservation will guarantee you a spot. Definitely worth a visit!
This family owned business is a much beloved local destination for families to come and enjoy a night of fun. They have a full kitchen that serves the classics (burgers, fries, wings, nachos, etc), a pretty decent selection of classic and craft beers, as well as liquor and wine. The staff is of course super friendly and happy to assist. It truly is a place where the term "fun for all ages" really does apply.
This is a very laid back local bowling alley. I coach youth league sports and often book this place for end of season team events. Have never had an issue. Great service each time we come. Highly recommend for school age kid functions!
Had a great time. The folks who run the place are super. Not much has changed over the years... and I love that! Pizza and beer pretty darn good, especially for a duckpin alley.
Excellent place for duckpin bowling! My family and small kids wanted to bowl for the first time. I called ahead of time and people were polite, respectful and very helpful. Kids loved it and adults as well. Definitely will be back. Also little arcade section for kids and game claws. Kids and family over all enjoyed it! If kids are happy then it's worth it.
Don't go in expecting the Ritz. However, duck pin is a ton of fun and the beer is more than fairly priced. I've been a few times and will continue to gladly go. If this is your first time, the peddle clears fallen pins for you and the reset button sets the lane for the next player.
Winter 2017, i scheduled my sons 7th birthday party here last minute with wonderful accommodations. I have zero complaints. The kids had a wonderful time, food was good, very affordable. Highly recommended!
It's older equipment and the balls got stuck but the people there are super great. The food is good, much better than any other bowling alley but it takes a while to for them to make it. We really enjoyed ourselves.
The staff here are amazing. My son is in an inclusive bowling league here and every single member of the staff is welcoming, friendly, and non judgemental. Great variety of foods and snacks, clean lanes, fun atmosphere.
Tucked away just off historic main street in the heart of Mount Airy. Duck pin bowling fun and friendly folks behind the counter. The facility was clean and well maintained. They have arcade games, a jukebox, and flat screen TV. They even brewed a fresh pot of coffee for me on a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend you check them out for some duck pin bowling fun!
Pre COVID, I used to bring a young man here who has developmental disabilities. All the staff here would take the time to get to know him and be super friendly and accommodating to us. He loves everyone who works there and the food! The food is great and the whole place is neat and clean. We can't wait to come back, hopefully soon!
Family fun in the best way! Duck pin bowling in great atmosphere, everyone enjoyed from the kids to the adults. Be sure to call ahead for a lane.
Went today and it was our daughter's first bowling experience. She did pretty good, but thankfully they had an arcade filled with games that occupied her time after she let us know 1 game was enough for her. Hahahaha. Norman was great and super helpful. Moving into the area soon, so nice to know there is a bowling alley close by. Place was super clean too. Look forward to getting a babysitter and hitting the lanes with my wife in the near future.
First time there and loved it! Hidden little gem that didn't bat an eye at our neuro diverse group. Great menu options, too! Will definitely be back!
My 5 year old loved this place. Lady behind the counter was very nice. Pizza was a little pricey. Overall very good experience!
Cute bowling alley- clean. Third time there and each time was a great experience. The kids had a great time. Went on a Saturday night and the place was quiet. We made reservations, but didn't really need them. Loved this place. Will be back again.
Had a great time bowling. Will definitely be back.
What great fun! This bowling is super nostalgic, coupled with super tasty food and drink. We would definitely come here just for that! Only twelve lanes, it is cozy and laid back. Perfect for a low key night out.
Very nice duck pin (small bowling ball?). 10+ lanes. Clean and fun. Hidden a bit of of the way unless your local ( down a bit from Lab Corp). Wouldn't expect to find such a nice setting in our wonderful "small" town. Great for families. I know they have league bowling. Needs another write up in the Messenger to get the word out more about this recreational treasure.
What a fun experience! Our family throughly enjoyed our two games, at Mt. Airy Bowling Lanes, as we celebrated a BIG family birthday. The staff was SUPER patient as we kept throwing balls (thrown accidently of course) where they weren't supposed to be going. The food was unexpectedly REALLY good. We were only remiss that we weren't at Mt. Airy Bowling Lanes longer to order more yumminess. A fun way to spend a few hours for sure.
Great family owned Duckpin Bowling! My daughter's bday party was great and affordable. The staff are helpful and kind. There are even libations for the adults.
The place is a little dated, but the equipment all works well, and the staff is friendly. They have a good selection of beers: domestic, imports and microbrews and also offer cocktails. I didn't expect much from the food, we ordered pizza, a burger, chicken tenders, fries and a cheesecake. The burger and pizza were just ok, but we were quite surprised with the tenders, wings and cheesestake. They were all delicious, freshly made, and truly restaurant quality. Finally, the prices for everything, bowling, dri
I've been here with groups and just my family and it's always been a great time. Duckpin bowling just seems a little more fun :) The balls are small enough that my 3 year old could manage, but they also have assistive devices so I think a younger child could still participate. Nice beers on tap too, and a small arcade and jukebox!
Fun old school lanes - lower end on the tech (you actually have to enter scores into the score system) and hit resets and clears. Some millennials may be a little knocked back by this old school approach that doesn't involve scanning codes and using cellphone connectivity. Staff is friendly and attentive - and happy to answer questions or lend a hand. Food looks good - we will probably try it next time. Price is low and fun was real
Duck pin only, mostly younger people there with parents. They do sell beer, and the food looked pretty good. We'll definitely go back.
Personnel are outstanding. Lanes were provided and a good time was had by everyone ages 8 to 65+. Great atmosphere, electronic counter, bumpers for children if desired. As usual, something yummy in the bowling alley food. We will be back.
A real blast from the past. Used to frequent this place as a kid and I don't think it has changed since. Really homey and neighborly atmosphere. Go there, have fun, and drink a beer. You won't regret it. All scores are manual I believe but that only adds to the charm.
So much family fun...even the littles can pick up the small balls. It's basic and all the mechanisms from pin sweeping to score keeping are manual. Plus the pizza's pretty good...haven't tried the other food.
We went there a few weeks ago and our 3 year and 8 year old had a blast. The smaller balls and pins were perfect for our 3 year old. The staff was was super friendly and nice as well.
Duck pin bowling is fun. $5 per person per game $4 per person shoe rental. The lanes are good. Manual scoring, pin cleanup and reset. They sell beer $3.50 and wine. Staff very friendly. Please do not bowl with dead wood on the lane (pins laying down)
Duck-pin bowling is great for kids. Beer prices are good, there's always a birthday party happening on the weekends. I'm skeptical about the food though (haven't tried it, just the looks of it made me uneasy). Prices are normal.
We enjoyed our games. I recommend calling ahead to reserve lanes. If you have children, you can also sign up for the kids bowl free summer program which covers two games a day, but you will still pay for shoe rental. A lot of fun!
Love. It. Here! So much fun! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Affordable family fun!
Paid 90 dollars to take my family to rockin bowl tonight from 9-11pm. We started out on lane 6. First we had no balls then when we got some the machine started acting up and wouldn't return the balls to us. So in the middle of our 1st game we had to stop and wait over 15 minutes just to be told to move to lane 7 which has a pretty good sized gash out of the bowling floor. We finished our first game and then bam in the middle of our second game lane 7 was stuck. We waited while two people tried fixing it. Fi
This place is AWESOME!!! They have pitchers of (good!) beer & the staff is soooo nice!!! I love this place! They even have ice cream & a couple arcade games and the vibe is so happy & positive, love it!
We've taken our kids there for birthday parties, and just a night out. It's always a fun night. Great food too!
Been coming since I was little, parent in a league. However was on a kids saturday morning league and it was the worst decision ever!! They all, including staff and other bowlers, act as if it's a professional olympics event and not just something you can do for fun. The only time we had fun was when the lane broke down during reset! If you're not there for a league though it's okay, not favorable to other places in the area for birthdays and outings and whatnot. (Except their food. The food is amazing!! An
Clean, well-maintained old-school bowling. There are computers, but you manually enter the score on them - and they come complete with pre-oregon trail level graphics, for an authentic experience. Paired with a pitcher of beer and onion rings, it makes for a pretty enjoyable afternoon.
Cool place, good food, it is not bowling but duckpin maybe not sure 1st time I'd seen it. Reminded me of the old bowling machines I'd see in bars as a kid but super sized.
Nice, local bowling alley. Clean and has a very nice snack bar with beer and wine. Make a reservation even on a week day
We started bowling didn't even bowl half of a game and they made us quit because the lane was reserved. They should have told us that before we started. Very unorganized and unprofessional in my opinion. We drove an hour to meet family at this place and only got to bowl for 30 mins.
Duckpin is always a great fun-filled family activity. Recommend making reservations.
Took my daughter here when she was a child. This time, took my granddaughter for her first time bowling. She had so much fun. Staff was very accommodating and welcoming.
Even if you don't want to bowl, go in and grab some food. Really tasty treats.
A fun place for families! Duck pin bowling. Also, the pizza is absolutely outstanding!
Great relaxed local place for duck pin bowling. We really enjoyed Saturday night Rock and Bowl. Not the fanciest bowling alley, but we like doing the scoring ourselves on the screens and the home town feel.
Nice, new bowling lanes, very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good food as well.
Experience was very poor. Our lanes had many problems. The ball return was stuck 5 seperate times and our pins would not reset for over 10 minutes on two seperate occations. The staff was pushing us out of the door throughout the last hour of our time to prepare for the incoming "leagues" wich was not brought to our attention when booking. We spent the majority of our time waiting on staff to correct our bowling kane problems. As we were rushed we also recived an impolite comment by the lane "mechanic" on h
Fun place to go duck pin bowling. The facility is a bit dated and it's cash only, but it is fun for the price. Young kids can have fun too since they have bumpers and a ball launcher too.
Very friendly staff and great snack bar too. You keep your own score on the electronic screen but kinda cool. Kids liked it.
The staff are nice, and the experience is generally pleasant. The food that we got was a bit too greasy, but other then that it was a good place to go bowling.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
