I booked a 2 hour private pit for a company outing and it did not disappoint! We were a mixed crowd of men and women of all ages and strengths and only one of us had ever tried axe throwing before. Montana Nights provided an instructor who stayed with the group and kept the pace of the games moving and was there to answer questions and guide us if we wanted help. There was plenty of time for practice throws. There were several games to choose from but we loved Battleship and Connect Four (yes.. with the axe
Wicked cool spot! This place is insane and so much fun! Axe throwing, pool and other arcade games. Live music and literally some of the best pizza I've ever had. The staff are very chill and the owners created a really hangout. My only wish is that it was closer to home but this place is worth the drive!
Our group of four had a fantastic time! We ordered pizza and wings and later corn hole while it cooked. Our axe throwing guide was fun and gave us all the tips to make our throwing its best! We will definitely be coming back!
Super fun time, we went on a Thursday for a little less crowding but it was still busy! The cute redhead bartender made the best drinks I've ever had and the food was good for this kind of place! Not a frozen pizza or microwave in sight (at least that I could tell) Such a cool place with so much to do, we're planning to go back again next month!
We went late so axe throwing wasn't open but that would have been super fun. Lots of games to play, the pizza was great and the bartender is so nice and friendly. The others who work there were not super friendly. A lot of staring which made us feel a little unwelcome. We had put our drinks down to play air hockey and they came over and took everything and threw it away. Some drinks were still full so that was mildly frustrating. Other than feeling forced out, it would?ve been a really great night.
I brought a large group of teens for axe throwing and pizza. Overall, very fun. The kids enjoyed the axe throwing as well as the arcade games, pool table, and photo ops. A couple things to note: -For a large group, you can rent a room, but the minimum time you can book for is two hours. I found that this was a bit more time than we really needed, and it would be ideal if you could book for an hour and a half instead. -The pizza is delicious, but please keep in mind that these are significantly smaller than
Montana nights is a blast. We have already been several times and love it. The axe throwing was fun and challenging. Our axemaster was super helpful too. Afterwards we had awesome pizza and cold beer. Cornhole, video games pool and more. Can't wait to go back.
The Montana axe throwing game is a blast! The instructor is excellent and very friendly. They also have arcade games, pool, and delicious pizza. Plus, the location is fantastic, situated in the Stop & Shop plaza in Putnam, CT. We always make sure to visit ELLE NAIL salon in the same plaza; it's a hidden gem with amazing services!
Great location! Owners are outstanding and their staff is friendly and attentive. We did not eat while we were there, but next time we will be trying the pizza! There are arcade games (bring cash!) and corn hole, which is free! Just go, you won't be disappointed!
Going to Montana Night was one of the best places I've been to so far in a while and the only reason I would go again is because the Axe masters were very fun to hang around, the atmosphere was really cool, lots of fun game for any age willing to go, Pool, Punching machine, Ect., and so much more, I would definitely recommend it to so many people. The food was perfect and a very good variety, so as the drinks. The Staff are very welcoming and are very helpful. Thank you Montana Nights for the very fun and e
Absolutely one of the best nights. Went out for a night with friends and I wondered if we would be able to use all the time they have us. It went by super fast and I wanted more time. I highly recommend!
Bartender Molly is so fun and worth making a visit at Montana nights but Saturday the music was so loud you were yelling and the bartenders couldn't even hear what you were ordering to drink. Plus the music didn't sound good, it sounded distorted being so loud. Not a fun time for you customers.
We did not get any food. Only one drink each from the bar. Because we had never been we weren't sure how the food would be. Ate at home. Next time will make it dinner and entertainment. Bar with limited selection
We had so much fun axe throwing. Since the axe throwing is timed, I do think they need servers at the tables so no time is wasted waiting for players to come back from the bar. Otherwise it was a great experience.
Great place. Axe throwing is so fun! Molly was excellent to work with. The pizza is amazing, the bartender, Kacee was so attentive and very knowledgeable. The cornhole and arcade games keep you entertained for hours. We can't wait to be back!
Met up with a couple friends for my birthday, it was such a fun and entertaining time. All of the staff were extremely nice and added to the fun. Other great games to play besides the ax throwing and the pizza is fantastic. Will be going here very often!
We came in to the bar on the 22nd to see live music and experienced one of the best bar tenders of our lives. Molly was the out going and fun to talk with will definitely return when she is working
Montana Nights in Putnam is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is perfect for a fun night out. The ax throwing lanes are a blast, and the staff does a fantastic job explaining everything, making it safe and enjoyable even for beginners. Cornhole adds an extra layer of friendly competition, making this place ideal for groups. The pizza is excellent ? perfectly cooked with just the right amount of toppings ? and pairs well with their drink selection, which offers something for every
We had a 30th Birthday party in a private event room and everything about it was great. The staff, the food and the axe throwing was terrific. I highly recommend this place!
Great time!! Perfect for a date or fun with friends. The staff were excellent and the food was delicious. Very nice atmosphere!
Molly, the bartender, is the best outgoing bartender we have ever had and definitely will be returning because of her
This place was a blast!! This was my first woodfellas experience and the food was amazing. Casey our bartender was hilarious and Zach our axe master was so patient and had great tips for improvement. Everything was super clean/ fair priced- we will be back
Our instructor Don Julio was great, very interactive and fun! Food was very good, love the idea of the half pizzas to get a better verity also had some boneless wings. Welcome to town, we are happy you are here!

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
