Monkey Rock

Monkey Rock

Reviews Summary

Monkey Rock offers a mix of family entertainment with arcade games, mini golf, bowling, and VR experiences. Many praise its fun activities, friendly staff (especially servers like Juan Carlos and Alyza), and decent food. However, frequent complaints include broken games, poor maintenance (especially bowling lanes), inconsistent service, and overpriced or underwhelming food/drinks. While some find it a great alternative to competitors, others feel it falls short compared to Dave & Busters or Peter Piper due to operational issues. High ratings highlight cleanliness and variety, while low ratings cite mismanagement and unmet expectations.

Great place for family and friends! They have bowling, mini golf, arcade games, a small rock climbing area, and jingle gym for kids. They also have a bar which was nice. Their staff is very kind and patient. I went to Monkey Rock to take my kid for her birthday and she enjoyed it very much. They do offer reservations and probably party bundles but we just went to check it out and play the arcades. Overall we all enjoyed it, we had fun and would definitely come back again!

We bought the package of $40 (for each child) that allowed them to play the arcade games ($25 value), mini golf, mini bowling, and a playground with a small rockvclimbing area. I was very disappointed that out of the 3 bowling lanes, only 1 was working, and it was always busy: we didn't even get to try the mini bowling. I counted at least 5 arcade games broken, and there was no one attending the playground or rock climbing area. The kids got to play in the playground for a while, until I realized it was n

It wasn't busy at all we went after school for half off Tuesday! Parking was easy to find. My kids had fun. There was not many staff members to be found when needed?HOWEVER- the ones we did come in contact with with phenomenal!! I was excited because the websight said half off margaritas but that wasn't the case and didn't find out until after I got my bill and asked why. The bar tender did show me where the menu says half off other drinks but was still disappointed that you go for margaritas half price and

It had a lot of fun things to do and I could see it being a great place to let your kids run around all day. But, to keep expectations reasonable, just know it can be a little expensive. They also don't necessarily maintain the equipment well. The bowling balls are all scratched and dented, the leather seats next to the lanes have rips/tears and stuffing coming out and the game itself glitched at least half a dozen times but we didn't want to waste fixing it because we paid by the hour. The staff all seeme

We had so much fun at monkey rock. We went a few months ago and forgot to post. We need the mini golf and bowling it was all fun. We did everything they have to offer. The food was good and my adult drink was good. The kiddos had a blast and have definitely gone back a few times. It was pretty packed when we went and there was waiting time for bowling so I would suggest when you go make sure you get on the list for a time so you are guaranteed a time to be able to do certain things. If you go during the wee

My family and I visited for the first time from AZ, and I will recommend this place for fun, food, and great customer service. Armando and Tatiana, thank you so much for providing the best service we've ever experienced at a family fun center. Since we were new, we were not sure what to expect. Armando explained everything to my husband and Tatiana was so sweet. I cannot stress it enough, but having a great experience INCLUDES interacting with employees and everyone did a tremendous job. All the families wa

I don't know where to start. The bowling balls are very very neglected, Assuming that there should be some type of video playing on the screens above the bowling pins. Lane 8, when you hit the number one pin it was not recognized no reflected in the score. Tall slender male server needs more education in hospitality, Not his fault. Probably due to lack of training. I think the lesson that I was trying to explain to him was to read back what someone said When taking an order. And when it came to pay my bill

Went here on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time! We did the arcade, mini golf, and bowling. The staff were all very helpful and extremely professional and courteous which goes a long way to have an enjoyable experience. The food was served/delivered directly to us while we bowled which made it pretty fun, the food was actually really tasty, I was surprised! Will go back with my family again soon!

We had a blast . But the hostess was not as attentive as needed. I had to constantly look for her . I had to leave the room and my party to ask for food & and drinks. I had to clean up. It was a very small space felt on top of each other. There was a hair in one of our pizzas. The attractions were awesome, tho something for everything.

Super fun place to take the family. Different things to do all in one place. Food is good & is reasonably priced. Definitely worth coming by.

Awesome place to bring the kids to! We purchased wristbands from Jungle Reef and it included 2 hours of activities at Monkey Rock. We had a blast! I highly recommend getting the wristbands as they seemed worth the money to visit both locations. Monkey Rock offers bowling, mini bowling, a rockwall, several large VR gaming areas, arcade games, and a pretty awesome blacklight mini golf area! The areas were well maintained and so much fun! It was nice to be indoors and out of the heat. The staff was friendly a

My daughters and I love it here!!! The food is amazing and the staff members are on point with everything! Very friendly! It's a fun place for family or even dates. 10/10 will recommend. I plan on coming back as much as often.

It's a fun place for children. Employees all were nice. I didn't like the food. The pizza was full of air bubbles, nacho cheese didn't have a good texture, and fountain sodas tasted weird. Also, I saw adults leaving beer bottles in the tables next to the playground.

Monkey Rock is a great place for kids and adults. We had our daughters birthday party here and it was amazing. Five starts to our server Sam. Really good guy took are of us all night.

As first time comers , me and my girlfriend had high expectations for this place unfortunately it was a disappointment. Most games were out of order or not working. Didn't have much options for prizes. Dave and buster or Peter piper are better options for entertainment. This will be the first and last time I spend my money here.

The play part is okay, however you can only rent the bowling lanes an hour at a time instead of by a game. So if your time runs out while bowling and your game isn't over. They don't let you extend. We were told that our Lane was booked. We've been sitting here for 20 minutes after our timer went out and there's no one in here. Our server shift was over and left during the middle of our stay and we didn't get another server until an hour later. The first server was great. The second server was great but we

The bartender was really helpful, and kind. I believe her name was Samantha. The wings were delicious and the French fries were slightly crispy on the outside.

?Hey! This is like Dave & Busters, but different, so let's try it!? NO!! Don't do it. This place sucks. Garbage service in the restaurant. Ordered their ?3 dip? chips appetizer. Chips were decent, but they give you 3 TINY little cups of dips (cheese, guacamole, salsa), and charge you a buck extra if you ask for extra anything. The guac was old and fermenting. Bro brought it to our super wobbly table- No Napkins. Had to get up and find bro and ask for napkins. Who the hell serves finger food with no napkins?

Alyssa, went above and beyond, accommodating every request with a smile. She ensured we had everything we needed and made the evening special.? First time we come and loved it. Would be coming back.

Went bowling on a Monday during Spring Break, so it was a little busier than it probably is on a normal weekday. Out of the 10 bowling lanes, there were about 4-5 occupied at all times during the 2 hours we were there. Most people were there with kids, but there were a few groups of only adults there as well. Service was decent, our waitress was attentive, but we only got drinks and an appetizer. The restrooms could?ve used some attention as they were out of soap and almost out of paper towels.

Everything is clean. Employees are nice. We have been twice now, and have done the mini golf, bowling, vr, and arcade. We have not eaten here yet, but the good looks great.

Mini wall climb, mini golf course with 9 courses , and 1 hour of bowling. Has a mini bar and area to sit down an eat . Mini menu with mini liquor menu . Food was good not great AND the service of the waiter could be more attentive and friendly. They might need proper training. Over great place for the family, friends and kids ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND CONE TRY IT OUT.

So, been working here for a year and the manager of the place stopped scheduling me, no follow up, no Info, nada straight ghosted. I'm here today to tell you the place sucks. Half machines work and even if you do find one, good luck having it work properly, I'm pretty sure the entire place has been lossing money for how empty it is during the weekdays, not to mention the low staff on those days too. Mini golf is bland, vr barely works here and there, mini bowling is in shambles, and rock wall is rock wall,

Juan that served us at monkey rock was a very good waiter and hard worker he deserves 5 stars. The nachos were really good thank you. Only giving 4 stars for Monkey rock games as a lot weren't working and they don't have much as it is.

This is the worst arcade I've ever been to. Literally half the games were out of order, and that's out of a very small collection to begin with. The games they did have were boring, and the place smelled like gasoline. Would NOT recommend, and if you do choose to go, make sure to buy the least amount of tickets possible because you will get bored of doing the same five games over and over. It's also super hot so be prepared to sweat!

Amusement center located inside Shoppes at Solana (fka Sunland Park Mall). They have a 9 hole mini golf course, bowling, VR experience, ?monkey bays? where you get to play different sports on the screen/bay, a jungle gym/rock climbing, and many arcade games. The prices are vary fair for the activities and there were no long waits. A couple of the arcade games weren't working, but it was still very fun. They also have food and drinks and entertainment for the entire family. Very fun!

Called a week ahead to book for 18 people. Over the phone they had me repeat multiple times about the add ons(only to get it wrong in the end). At the beginning of the call they said $50 deposit was required by end of call I had to pay the full amount... That should've been the first clue. The woman read back the final confirmation. Took a few hours to get a receipt emailed. Upon arrival the ticket counter said to sit on the couch to wait for the even coordinator, to which she called abruptly to tell me the

Almost every mini event is out of service, game card machine does not work, and the only employees are at the rock wall and front.

Really Awesome place for FAMILY FUN The Food is good decently priced I hope they add more options in the future. We did bowling for my husbands birthday with our 2 year old son and he loves it! It was a really fun experience we also paid for my son to join in the jungle gym and he loves it very save too. I'm sure this is to be the next family hangout wayyyy better prices than JW that's for sure! Doesn't break the bank! We will definitely be coming back!

Great food, arcade was amazing, bowling was super fun. Highly recommend. Kids loved it. 1st time here and will definitely be coming back!!!

Place was great!! First time here for me and my family. Juan Carlos our server was very attentive, respectful and patient with our large party!! thank you for a great experience. We will be back.

Monkey Rock was fun. We got to take advantage of their wristband special which was worth it if you'd like to stick to the mini golf, rock wall, the bays, and mini bowling (the rest is not included). We did have fun in the bay because the last time we were here it was full. They do have a variety of games to play at the bay which is nice. The equipment needed is also at the bay in a basket as well. While in our bay, we enjoyed a pepperoni pizza and some drinks. The pizza was decent. The sauce, cheese, and pe

Service was poor. Waited 30 minutes for 1 beer. Kid serving was to busy talking others, doesn't look around for people waiting, doesn't hussel like true bartender. When I went to the reception girl looked like i bothered her when I asked to have rails up for my grandson. People at work gave me the vibe they were not in the best of mood. Not a good first impression. Just wish there more options on the westside.

Great Experience. Big shout out to our server Huan Carlos, Amazing hospitality execution. Extremely patient with our large party and very positive attitude. Appreciate you going above and beyond to ensure our group was doing great through our visit. Thank you!

Juan Carlos was an outstanding server! He was always checking up on our large party and always kept a great attitude! Great experience for our first time visiting here!

Brought my teen daughter and her 3 friends to celebrate her birthday. They all had a blast! There is a bar for parents and their food looks delicious!

We threw my husbands 40th bday here with a small group of family. The packages were very affordable. Plus we had a tiny emergency and had to push back the party a little later and they were so accomodating. Place is clean, and comfy seats in the bowling area. Will def be coming back. Theres a little for everyone.

Great place, great food, great service. This is a great place to go bowling with friends or family this is now my favorite place to bowl in the El Paso/ sunland park area. Highly recommend you come here to have a great time.

New, neat experience. 10x better experience than Peter Piper for the price. Food was A+ for an arcade! Incorporates good kid and adult fun for a great family experience. Great variety!

It was a really fun place I had fun with my son and husband, Alyza our server was friendly and we felt comfortable and well treated. Will be coming again!

Came here with my girlfriend for a date night only to be disappointed. Once we walked in my expectations lowed drastically. Most of the games were out of order and the ones that did work were not worth it. Once we finished playing the same 2 games we went to go get prizes with the 370 tickets we won and we walked out with some gum, kisses chocolate and a finger trap . That is such a big rip off I would never recommend coming here ever again . Peter piper , gamescape and Dave and busters are worth it more th

This place was pretty amazing especially the bowling and the pizza. It has a variety of things for all ages to have fun at. The workers are very respectful and pretty good looking.

Great place. Bowling?s area for adults and kids, special Tuesday, they have a few family promotions, food and fun!

This place has so much potential especially for the hot summers, but typical fashion 70% of the games in the arcade don't work. Go to Dave and busters to get quality, this place was a huge disappointment to me and my family.

Sam and Isiah were amazing hosting our company sponsored event. Food was great and had a blast bowling. Thank you gentleman!

Id consider the pricing if i was the owner. Because for 2 hours we can play at chuckee cheese and its kid friendlier. Reeks of beer smell everywhere. Will not come as often as I had planned. I mean, it's good for some people, but for kids, certainly not. Id rate this as an adult friendlier more than child friendly. Which is odd because it was supposed to target kids more according to their beginning marketing strategies, i guess. It's a nice environment for adults because of alcohol, bar, bowling, mini ind

Fun place to visit are at the little restaurant they have and are server Jaun was such a perfect person had great personality and was running all over but still had the time to take care of my wife and.

Monkey rock is one of the best places in all of El Paso it has great activities such as an arcade, mini golf, rock climbing and my personal favorite bowling this is a great family friendly place with many activities!!

Food has limited options and prices are decent. The environment is phenomenal! The bowling alley looked like so much fun! (They were all occupied so we didn't get to bowl.) Games passes lasted longer here than PPP.

I had high hopes for this place, but it was a letdown. The mini bowling isn't laser. They use string, which is okay, but several times, it took 3 or more times for the pins to reset. Not to mention, the scoreboard doesn't catch every hit pin. So, your game isn't scored accurately. 3 other families had issues attempting to get their game to reset to a fresh game to be played. The man came, very nonchalantly, to reset the game, picked his nose, smooshed it between his fingers, and grabbed the pole as he attem

The experience here was awesome we had lots of fun, very clean and really good ac

Lots of fun for the entire family! We had the best time! Friendly staff and great food!

A fantastic spot to enjoy a day out! The food was delicious, and our waitress Alyza provided outstanding service. We'll definitely return.

The YDSP Property Management Team had our Staff Development Activity at Monkey Rock this week and we all had a BLAST. Our Dept. is so large that we always have a hard time finding a place that is large enough to accommodate us and at Monkey Rock we didn't have any problem. The Staff at Monkey Rock set up a delicious buffet and there was a lot of activity for everyone to enjoy. The cheers and laughter coming from the Bowling lanes was the best, they even asked to return. Thank you Monkey Rock Staff for the

We had a great experience over at Monkey Rock. We came as a group, did some bowling, and had one of the signature drinks Pineapple Coconut Mojito made by Valerie. It was amazing. ??

It's expensive and they state they close at 12am however they they start shutting the games down at 11 and the restaurant at 9:50 (they discourage you from ordering) and the bar as well at 11?.not worth it. Then the bowling alley ? there's only like 5 lanes and never available. Definitely not worth it. Photos taken at 11pm

Went with family had a great time food and service was awesome Alyza was very attentive with such a positive attitude which made the experience so much better !!!

Went here for a date night and the place offers a lot of games to play. We got a drink at the bar and were instructed when bowling that a waiter would come and serve us food and drinks that are ordered through the waiter. We started bowling and realized that there were balls stuck in the gutter but staff quickly removed them once notified. Well twenty minutes went by while bowling and nobody came to take our drink and food order and the bowling lane had several issues that needed to be addressed. So I went

Brought my toddler here to get on the slides and play the arcade games as well as ?free included mini golf and bowling?. About 7 of the games my son wanted to play were out of use or when we unfortunately swiped our $30 dollar play card (which was too much to buy to begin with) EVERY game either didn't have a ball coming out of the machine or blacked out. What a terrible way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Oh and Mr. Juan, at the bar was also no help, so we will gladly ?call tomorrow and speak with John the ma

Honestly was a Great atmosphere and fun to go with the family! i had a great waitress named alyza her friendliness and speed of service was great , I would go again!

Amazing time! Our company with our clients had so much fun! Definitely recommend for large events.

My daughter had an excellent birthday party at Monkey Rock. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me and my family.

Pretty awesome experience. The staff made the experience a ton better. Very nice people. Our kids loved it all.

great place, a lot of activities for the kids, the bowling it's awesome. highly recommended.

definitely would come again! place is amazing and the staff was excellent, thank you Alyza for making our experience great !

Great place for kids! A lot of games and my sons can spend hours in the rock wall!

Awesome place for rock wall climbing. The games are pretty modern with plenty to choose from. Lots of fun overall. Especially with the right friends to tag along

We rented the entire place for family night out. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Alexis went above and beyond.

Came here for my son's birthday. Never again. Their monkey bays station, did not work. The games (money bay) were not worth it at all. The food was 4/10.

We had fun bowling as a family. The food was delicious. However, we waited 30 minutes plus to be seated. Other tables got sat before us. We were forgotten. When we finally got a table, we were not greeted by anyone for 15 minutes or so. We finally got our order in. Food came out quickly except for the 2 pizzas we ordered came out after we were half way done with the meals some of us ordered. (Kids left without food) Even just to get ONE napkin each for of us, they seemed as if the napkins were made of gold

Really amazing place, lots of fun things to do and the food is great. Good customer service

Overall great experience here. I mostly go bowling. They have specials on certain days. Only complaint is the bar. I decided to try their pi?a colada, there was no one at the bar but shortly after a guy passing by(employee) made us 2 great tasting pi?a coladas with frozen Pineapple chunks and could taste the alcohol. I no longer wanted one because I didn't want to have another icy beverage I accompanied my brother to get himself another one the bartender did happen to be there. She made the pi?a colada tota

The burgers was ok, but the chips and salsa was overpriced for the amount we got. There is no upkeep of game machines as most of them were in unavailable and some machines didn't register what you were playing. This was my first time coming here and not too impressed.

This place is amazing , great food and service !! We have so much fun at the bowling and the arcades, highly recommended!!

Friendly staff and prices are reasonable. Didn't try the food. Enjoyed the attractions but rated a three star because games were minimal and expensive and it was almost impossible to actually get a prize.

Super cool spot Good prices Lots of fun Pizza and mozz sticks were hit

I'll preface this by saying these types of places aren't in my wheelhouse. There looked to be plenty to do between bowling, mini-golf, arcade games, virtual sports simulators, and some other virtual stuff. The food was just so-so, all in all it's a bit spendy... That said families appeared to be having fun and kids certainly were entertained.

My son enjoys playing the Teenage Ninja Mutunt Turtle game they have along with some others. The bike game (there's 4 of them) the 2 middle ones 'shake' when it comes to the bike.

First time visiting loved the whole place! The kids jungle gym was fantastic while is adults age the delicious food! Great wings carne asada and tenders! Service was 11/10! Very clean place!!

First time at monkey rock and the experience was amazing. Better than the mad hatter. Drinks are on point and Ms. Valerie was our bartender and she doesn't play when it comes to making drinks they were very much on point. Best cocktails I've had in a long time. Thank you Ms valerie

It was very fun very Entertaining and the staff here are very nice and the food to.Thank you for having me I will be letting my members know thank you again for everything.

Terrible place, already run down. Many of the video games are not working. The tickets games don't report tickets to the card. For $100 in games my son couldn't even get one of the 50cent toys because no tickets registered. There are other places that we will be going to.

Alyza...was a amazing waitress..my kids brought me over here for mother's day...had a wonderful day...

We would like to thank Paulina for the great customer service, she was very attentive. We had such an amazing family time.

Awesome place to have family fun!

We had an amazing time, great value and the kids had a blast!!! We will be back for sure!!!

When you guys go, ask for Melody, she was my server, great service & friendly, helped me and friends get seated pretty fast too. Overall the vibes was pretty good here and food good too.

Our service was amazing! The plat center was clean, and Pau our server was friendly and had great customer service!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
