I came on a Monday evening, it wasn't busy by any means. Maybe 5 lanes were being used. When I arrived the lane next to me had a pitcher of beer. When I asked the staff for a pitcher of beer for myself they told me that I would have to wait, they were too busy. That seemed like a weird excuse because again. It was a Monday evening. But I sat down and waited. I went back again 10 minutes later only to be denied again. I went back to my lane and gave up on any type of service for my visit. Just a few moments
Long wait but was worth it. Food was good, drinks were on point and the gentle giant at the front was very professional.
Neighborhood staple bowling spot. People come here for fun and bday celebrations. Standard fried foods, soda pitchers, and a good time. Bathroom is very clean, w paper towels on the bottom of the soap dispensers to catch drip, i loved that. Spacious bowling lanes and friendly price and staff.
Melody Lanes, a hidden gem in Park Slope, offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere for friends and family to unwind and enjoy a game of bowling. From the outside, it might not seem like a bowling alley unless someone mentions it, which I appreciate about its hidden charm. Parking was convenient, especially since I visited on a Tuesday, which was ladies? night, resulting in half-off rates. If you're looking for something to do in the area, I highly recommend checking out Melody Lanes.
I loved it. First time ever going there will be coming back with my grandkids they truly enjoyed themselves. I was happy watching them. Very affordable compare to those other places we visited in the city. Convenient to get to. The arcade was nice. They can use some more games other than that I will be going back to bowl. With friends. And my babies
Celebrated my friend's birthday here. Took her for surprise bowling. We had a blast. Things are not the same as pre pandemic, but then again, what is. It's still a good place for bowling.
This place was great. The staff was on point and kept the place clean. They definitely follow the covid guide lines. The lane seating area are separated. The setup for bowling is easy and clear. They also have an arcade and snack area. The bathrooms were very clean. And they have lots of sanitizer station to ensure we stay safe. The lanes were well taken care of. I had a great time. So did my daughter. Definitely going back when we have a chance.
This is a good place for a quick game of bowling. I came here with my wife and daughter on a Saturday around 1pm and was playing a game in no time. They have drinks for the adults and kids as well as food. I could definitely see myself coming back here in the future.
We clearly asked for 2 games for $20/ player. Cashier insisted we said 1 hour and wanted to charge us $32 to finish our second game. Beware when you go, be very SPECIFIC AND DOUBLE CHECK when paying is what you are paying for.
I've never been there before, and first impressions of the place was decent and enjoyable. I had a great time with coworkers for our first outing after everything started opening. Not to brag but had the highest score of all the games. Regardless, just visit and have a wonderful time.
Didn't bow but used to bowl league here decades ago, place looked clean. You have to be buzzed in, at least on Saturday morning. No per game fee that I was quoted. There is a per lane with shoes included that was reasonable. $20 per hour per lane with shoes included IIRC.
I called if I can come with my friends to the bowling alley, I didn't end up coming because when I called the person on the phone was EXTREMELY Rude!!! He was very nasty and grumpy! He was yelling at me because he thought that I was wasting his time because I am making my decision so, I hung up. Please fix this!!!
Overall the experience was great , I went for a school trip. The staff was helpful and nice. My friend used the vending machine and got expired pretzels . Thankfully they gave a refund. Would recommend going but don't buy from the vending machine.
Fun. Friends. Food. ??
Nice, normal bowling alley. The lanes were nice and they have a bar and concessions. Pretty expensive for bowling over $80 for two people for one hour on Saturday but I guess that's New York. Overall good experience but once your hour is up they will have someone else coming in quickly behind you.
I enjoyed so much. Great place for group hangout.
Came here last weekend. Almost went to Bowl 360 instead because I thought Melody didn't have any food besides snacks and beer. As you can see from the photos of the menu I posted, they do have food and other drinks besides beer! I had to deduct one star because I wasn't allowed to bring in my juice from Dunkin Donuts which was less than half full. I understand the policy of no outside food/drink but come on, if it looked like I only had a few sips left, what was the big deal?
Came here for the first time yesterday for my companies holiday party and had a BLAST!!! Everything was clean and almost New looking and the bartender Peter is THE BEEZ KNEEZzz he makes this drink called Malibu Monsoon... YA GOTTA TRY IT!!!! Definitely a good place to bring children also there's a arcade in the back that's pretty cool. Oh I forgot to mention the food is actually really good to.
It is small but not a bad vibe. The people were nice.
Medium sized location with friendly owner. Came with a group of 4 and we were ready to start bowling within 15 minutes. Lanes were nice and easy to use for beginners but it could have definitely been easier to understand. Food and arcade area was nice but seemed like an afterthought to the main attraction, which is perfectly understandable. Can be somewhat pricey but is well worth it for a good tome. Would recommend, but be wary of some rowdy kids, otherwise everyone usually keeps to their own lane.
First time here, nice place, not to crowded, kind of expensive, we pay $53 for 1 hour 2 people, we play 3 games, line works ok, balls are ok , it was nice! We will come back.
Been callin and it said it's closed until new years but saids it's open online
We love Melody Lanes! Last night was our second office outing to the alley in the past year and I do not think it is possible for us to have had more fun. The classic atmosphere, the reasonable prices and the extremely helpful staff made it a great night all around. The snack bar offerings are a bit limited but the fries and chicken tenders were great!
Super nice owner and really good rates. The lanes are nice and clean and there's plenty for kids to do. Really awesome place glad this is in Brooklyn.
Celebrated my kid?s birthday here on a Saturday afternoon recently and we had a blast. Ended up renting four lanes for our group of 20 people and they gave us the corner of the room which was perfect for us to lay out cupcakes and feel like we had our own space. Everyone was able to order their own food and drinks ? la carte. Took away 1 star because they don't offer water. We had a family member with us who was nine months pregnant and asking the staff for a pitcher of water for herself and the younger ki
A wonderfull and familiar plan to relax and enjoy with friendo or family. The staff is helpfull and kind.
Had a work event with about 20 people. We had a great time bowling, however they added a 25% gratuity to the bill (which is normal for larger groups) but then there was a staff member that was aggressive with us as we were leaving, asking for tips. We mentioned the 25% that we paid and he said he didn't get any of that money. He didn't do anything but hover around us and we never asked for a personal attendant and figured a 25% tip would be split among the staff. The bartender was also super aggressive and
The lanes are great. BUT go there on a full stomach because the food service is horrendous. Went back multiple times for our food order and the service person was on their phone and forgot our food. Not at all apologetic. Ugh.
we came on the weekend (March 5), but we didn't have a reservation, an unpleasant woman at the counter said to wait about an hour until the line for the game was free, we waited 2.5 hours !!!!- and when I asked how long to wait, they said 4 more companies in front of us, we left ! Today I call to make a reservation for Tuesday, they tell me you can't book, come and wait in line! I asked a lot of people on weekdays, they told me - I don't know! and hung up! Of course, I will never come again! and I don
Classic sunset park spot. Great for rainy days with a group of friends or a date. Everyone is super friendly, don't be alarmed by the large security guard upon entry, he's just there to help.
Great experience, decent pricing and delicious cocktails. Would recommend
The bartender was horrible i ask for suggestions for drinks and didn't made no type of effort to engage in no conversation was very rude when i ask for extra cups and all the time he was mad i would definitely would like to see a change of a new bartender worst experience ever every one else was down to earth.
Was an awesome experience positive vibes and I love the fact u can put the player picks on the screen. Prices are fare considering the area. Overall we had a blast. Definitely will go back.??
Decent place.. $25 for 30mins and $45 for an hour, also they have $5 shoe rental. Street parking is available around the area. I would have given them more stars but my initial greeting was very abrupt and distasteful. I had a juice in my hand standing outside the door when a worker opened the door and said rudely "no outside food". I was standing outside the doors for this exact reason. Once I finally came inside the other workers were more inviting and pleasant.
Went on a Saturday night and this place gets packed. $ 22 bowling special must be the attraction and it is a good deal. Wait time varies so be prepared. Didnt try the food but like there is a vending machine that you can get socks from. There is a bar with TV sets to watch the football games if you dont want to bowl. The music was very diverse and love it when the lights go out.
We had an absolute blast, bumpers were automatic for just the little guy, so that was super easy, the place was very nice & very friendly! Isn't my first time there, and it won't be our last!
It's always fun. Always clean. I just wish the lady at the front desk wouldn't yell into the mic. If you speak normally you can still get your message across
Old school bowling alley in Brooklyn. Draft Bud was ice cold and the curly fries were great ?? Tntrance is wheelchair accessible. The space between the table and the bench is ~36? and wide enough to fit a wheelchair. There's a 3? step up to the alley but possible to get up with assistance. There was someone in another lane in a wheelchair using the ramps as assistance.
Amazing experience! was very much fun! had a very great time! Definitely recommend this place!
Had been here with colleagues. Nice, well maintained place. Friendly owners.
Larrrrrry the bartender is here still there? I bright so many people here and have so many memories
Do u like bowling? Then u will like Melody Lanes. It's got everything u need, pitchers , full bar, full menu restaurant, arcade and bowling. Nice new shoes there now too for Rent. Great spot.
Had a great time bowling but the guy who ran the register was very condescending, falsely advertised the Ladies Tuesday, and made us pay $100 for what was an already overpriced $90.
Cool place, had fun. Rough area though but otherwise I would return
The wait is really long on weekends so I'd recommend on weekday. Bowling is a once a while thing anyway. Place is somewhat clean. There is food but they open later in the day and it's a bit pricey. Shoes are rentals.
Very old and worn down place but it will fulfill your need for bowling at a cheap price. Was very crowded and the machines were not working correctly (kept miscounting our pins and scores)
Super fun and friendly place.
Love the new upgrade. My family Had a ball covid style U guys were a great host for my family food was good and the drinks were great cant wait till we have another bowlerama night with my crew
Fun place? we had fun with girls. Coming back definitely but a little pricey.
Plus: 1. Cool music and atmosphere; 2. Good line but not very fast; 3. You can set borders for easy game; 4. You can request a list with a total points for all games. Minus: 1. Bad french fries; 2. Small space near line; 3. Strange bartender.
This is probably one of the best and cheapest places to bowl in NYC. My one critique is the dress code: no baggie pants, no doo rags, ?pants must be pulled up around the waste,? etc... I'm sure the owners and staff are all nice people and probably don't know how this can be perceived, but as a person of color, when I read a sign like this I see something very exclusionary, because this is how many young, black men dress. Regardless of the intention, the result will be that the majority of people turned aw
Still one of the go to places to bowl in my area. Great place to have a Birthday party too.
Bowling is decent. They are doing renovations in the back so it's messy. The food there is way over priced and definitely not worth the money. The food was good just way overpriced.
My son and I love this place! The food is pretty good and the staff is very polite and friendly. They also have a bar
Melody Lanes Bowling is usually so fun. What a great place for a group of teens to go on a Saturday. We live in the area and are repeat customers. The place is clean and safe. Bowling is fun. But tonight was awful because employee Miss M decided she didn't like us. Why? Was it that we're teens? Our race? Those were the only two things that did not sync with those she let ahead of us (repeatedly for over an hour.) We patiently waited our turn; we are clean and polite; we have money?. Maybe it was that she h
We had a great experience during open bowl on a Wednesday afternoon. Lanes, facilities, balls, equipment was all in great shape. Two games with shoe rental included only $20 per person.
Don't sleep on the arcade and mozz sticks @ Melody Lanes! Overall, great venue for the entire family, with friendly staff serving a legendary institution.
We reserved 2 lanes for 10 people for $280 for two hours. Besides that, our family and friends had a great time amongst ourselves. But and a BIG BUT, Trish ?the Bartender? that was on that night was so so TERRIBLE, she was so rude to EVERYONE, non accommodating, she was talking to herself when she thought no one was looking, there was NO eye contact at all with customers, no compassion, it seemed like she hated people. We paid a lot of money for beers and shots. So thanks to that experience and poor ser
Very good service not so clean allitle smelly the place can use an update but it was fun because I won
Great experience being there ,my daughter's school kept their bowling fun day there it was only for a couple of hours but it was really fun.Great prices on food especially for the kids menu and because we were there on the earlier side (11am) there wasnt much people but still enough to keep the energy up,we enjoyed it.
Pricing was decent to bowl. Time always feels fast when your having fun. However I did see a rude bartender there.. she was nice to the guys but snippy with another lady. Food was decent price too. More reasonable since it tasted great. (Mostly snacks mozzarella sticks fries etc)
Great place for a drinks with friends and fun night bowling. Very reasonably priced and great specials depending on the day.
Our after-school trip was ?????? thank you. We enjoyed and will definitely be back! Very clean, friendly environment, cool Arcade in the back with the old-school games?? I just recommend upgrading the ladies' restroom, PLEASE.
Great price! Clean and friendly owner/staff. Really fun way to spend an afternoon
We loved it. The place was packed when we arrived. We were directed to the bar as we were informed it was a 20 minute wait. We ordered sodas, & juice for the kids, and were enjoying ourselves so much, we're not sure how long the wait was. The hot wing combo, & cheeseburger combo wasn't bad considering it was from a bowling lane. Fun experience.
This spot is legit. True New York. If you know, you know.
Nice experience overall. Fair prices... not the best dating idea since you will be surrounded by a younger clientele.
Super friendly staff. A bit of the cool old school bowling alley vibe but a little fresher and cleaner. I personally dislike Brooklyn Bowl and this is SO not that, in the best way possible.
I went with kids. Their bumpers come up automatically when it's their turn and go down when their turn is over. I've been to bowling alleys where you have to do it by hand. The place is clean and people came quickly to help if a ball gets stuck. Someone came by and checked on us to see if we wanted anything to eat or drink.
I had a ball. Very organized and the lady at the front that gives you your lane and shoes was nice. A little pricey but cool. A little rowdy but security was good and definitely kept order. Would like to go again maybe at a different time.
Nice place to go bowling with friends and family. Attentive staff, upbeat music, and fairly clean. The bartender went out of his way to prepare requested drinks not on the menu. Our lane (#9) was glitchy. A couple of times it got stuck or wouldn't drop the pins or it will skip a player altogether. We did not care much but it could be problematic when competing.
A lot of fun. Melody lanes is taking all social distancing measures. Staff was friendly and I hope to return soon.
Nice bowling spot if you're looking for something calm. It's usually a 45 min wait but it goes pretty fast tbh. You can reserve the lane for half an hour or an hour. The staff are friendly can't complain. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone. 7/10
I felt this place was a bit pricey. The owners were very strict about the rules and regulations Constantly looking and monitoring if anybody stepped out of line they would yell at them. I was with a well-behaved group but the overall atmosphere felt very tense. It wasn't a comfortable environment to be in when all you're trying to do is hang out with friends and have fun.
I am currently sitting at Melody Lanes while writing this review. Melody Lanes is the only that could accommodate with kids and other teenagers younger than 21 years old. We were misinformed about reserving lanes for groups of 12 and up. When we arrived there the lady at the front desk told us that there's a wait for about an hour. We told her we have kids with us and there seems to be no sense of urgency on her part to accommodate to that. We went ahead and found ourselves where to order food. We waited by
Lanes were not greased properly and shoes stuck on the heels. 2 stars if there wasn't a fight on lane 13.
In response to the owner asking for more details, here they are: When my friends and I arrived, we asked what the wait time was and we were told 45 minutes. We said that would be fine and hung out at the bar while waiting. It ended up taking 2 hours, and multiple check-ups with the front desk assured us a few times throughout the wait that it would only be a few more minutes. Finally, we paid and got our lane. It was about $80 for 1 hour, including shoes for 4 people, which seemed steep, but because we ju
I don't even like bowling but I find myself here for many children's birthday parties. I give this place 5 Stars based on the staff flexibility with the children, cleanliness, and extensive menu for bowling alley.
I love it and I will come back
Nice place to take the family within the surrounding area. When looking for places to bowl, I noticed the prices are pretty much the same as other bowling places in brooklyn. The earlier times are less money. You can check out their website for more info. I didn't purchase any, and I dont know the pricing, but they do have food and drinks, and I think you can even get an adult drink or two when visiting.
The receptionist is rude and loud! Does not know what is to respect the client, didn't provide me with details of the group order! Hey, Ser, if you don't like you work or communication with people - find a new job for you! If the front line of the company doesn't respect and doesn't want to provide information to the client I can only imagine how awful would be the service inside! NOT RECOMEND!!
It's a bowling alley. Not a fancy restaurant with bowling. A bowling alley. Like the ones with leagues and pitchers of beer. The best.
The place seems clean and the bowling was fun, but it felt expensive. Would have been $89 for two hours for one lane - their prices on their website are not updated. But we got there while they were doing a deal where it was $80 for two games. Our party of four ended up paying $20 per person, but I never would have done that had it just been two of us. It feels very expensive. I'd give it 3.5 stars, rounding down because I'd never pay that price if it was just two of us.
I definitely will visit again. We were able to make a reservation over the phone. They are doing social distancing and ensuring that occupants wear their masks at all times. I also noticed that after our game they were sanitizing the area which was a huge plus. Awesome job guys and thank you so much!
Awesome and super fun place to bring family and friends to bowl! I went last week with some friends and luckily it wasn't super packed so we got a lane quickly. The customer service was amazing, the tall waitress (I forgot her name) was super nice and funny and to top it off the food was GREAT. I recommend their wings and chicken quesadilla, will definitely be coming back soon!!
So I called to get some information on rates and was put on hold by someone name Charlie" as I write this review. My first time inquiring this place has changed so much from back in the days I use to have a cousin who frequently patronize this place along with friends and teams. I was rudely left on hold I was told prior to the hold that it was $77. for one hour of bowling with shoes for two people no walkins and $65 for one person for one hour which didn't make sense, especially in these economic hard time
Staff was fantastic .the kids enjoyed they time and idk what the chicken nuggets had but like Tony says there great lol ooh and very clean which is needed
Great place for friends and family . I enjoyed myself and the kids had a blast
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
