My daughter and I really enjoyed staying at Marty?s playland property. Our apartment was well equipped very clean and the staff is very nice. It was great to roll out of bed and be on the beach. It was great to take a shower and be on the boardwalk thank you and the staff for making our stay great.
Skeeball is just 25 cents per game. Can't beat that. Back of the place has some classic claw games and fortune teller machine. Modern games such as Mario Kart are aplenty. Customer service for the entire place is top notch with helpful game operator and reward table. There's always someone wiping down the machines clean too so that's always a plus as well. Capture the moment with multiple snaps from the Photo Booth for just $3.
I love the old school crane games. Those are our absolute favorite.
Awesome arcade and game facility on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, MD. This place has been here for years and has a large variety of arcade games, ticket redemption games, pinball games, air hockey, claw machines, and many other games. You can cash in your ticket credits for prizes. Use your credit card to purchase a gaming card. These are needed to play the games here. Fun place to hit if you like video games and fun.
My Kids love Marty's Playland. We can spend hours playing the games here. The staff is responsive and helpful when a game doesn't work or has an error just go talk to someone. Most of the games need a card to play and dispense tickets like most modern arcades but you can still find ones that will take quarters and if they do they also dispense tickets. The best deal is the skeeball. Every skeeball game played is a quarter and they advertise throwback Thursday where every skeeball game is a dime. The c
We grew up going to Marty?s. We loved the skee ball and the old-fashioned claw machines. When my grandfather was alive, he did the claw machines while we watched it hoped for him to get all the cool prizes. so we decided to take my brother?s grandson there. we went late, June just before Fourth of July. we were very pleased to see that was easy for my brother, who is in a wheelchair, to not only go into Marty?s, but move around within Marty?s while his grandson played the old-fashioned claw machines the new
Been Coming to Marty's since I was a Kid. It's an Ocean City Landmark. I'm an amateur painter and attached is my "Playland" painting
Always so much fun. I've been playing on the same Skeeball machines since I was kid. They are definitely showing their age (but aren't we all, ha), but staff were great at fixing them. We also played some air hockey and a few 'kiddie' games. Still need lots of tickets to win little prizes, but it's all part of the experience:)
Loved the old school Skee-Ball and crank toy cranes. The rest of the games, especially their very limited selection of pinball games, were disappointing. Typical boardwalk arcade geared toward collecting hard to obtain tickets to purchase over-valued prizes. They did have most games up and running and were clean, which earns them an extra star.
If your out with the family for a night on the boardwalk, its a MUST to stop at Marty's!! Take 10 minutes and become a kid again. The skee ball is a must as well. Keep your tickets, you can always cash them in on your next trip. My kids always have the best time in the arcade, highly recommend.
I was mis-led by some other reviews; searching for ANY arcade down here with a decent amount of older (80s-90s) carbinet games, but alas, did not find any here. Just the 1 Pac Man/Galaga machine that every arcade has. Maybe 1-2 pinball machines that seem to be unfairly impossible. I weep for the future; my kids only know from 10-second "ticket games" and crane games. What have arcades become??!
On the boardwalk of Ocean City Maryland. Has old and new games of all types. Free parking and restrooms available along with handicap parking and entrance. Each time you win you can win prizes and tickets that you can cash in for more prizes. I always spend hours playing in this huge game room upon every visit to Ocean City.
I went on the off-season but it was pretty dead inside. We were able to use any machine that we wanted. And to get our card to play was simple to navigate for the first time
This is a boardwalk classic. Skee ball is a must for a complete visit to Ocean City. Old time skee ball and lots of new games too. Bringing my son here takes me back to when I was little and it's just as much fun now. After a long day on the sand, it's a family tradition to spend a couple of hours at Marty's. Kind of like visiting an old friend. They offer reloadable, pre paid game cards for most games so you don't have to worry about your children walking around with a pocket full of quarters. My son goes
I've been coming here for 40 years, My favorite part of the time is staying at Trimpers Play Land Apartments. As you ca see I'm an avid Photographer and OCND has plenty of sites like these for your viewing pleasure.
Throwback arcade, cheap skee-ball games (only $0.25!). Some of the games are your money, which is to be expected. The old fortune teller machine brought back good memories, and made 50 cents magically disappear! Seriously though, I grew up on this boardwalk in the summers of 1992 to 1997 and man, this place is a landmark. Mazes of games, flashing lights, beeps and laser sounds coming at you from all directions?don't miss it.
My boyfriend and I took a days vacation to Ocean City and absolutely loved playing the games in the arcade! We won enough tickets to get two shoe keychains and a small hand fan and lived the overall experience!
Great experience. Needs more prizes with Marty?s Playland logo?s to take home as souvenirs. I got a nice dolphin coffee mug with Marty?s name on it for 450 points
Pinball! Open year round! Got 380 in skeeball! (2x50 and 7x40!)
My family and I hit up an arcade every vacation spot we go. (Ocean City, NJ has the best one). We went to Marty's while in Ocean City, Maryland and I wish it was much better. Don't get me wrong, they have an excellent number of arcade games and pinball machines. Great selection. Tickets could be cheaper. Prizes could most definitely be MUCH better. But I am disappointed with the claw machines. I watched my kids along with other kids nearby all be robbed - literally had the prizes in the claw as it w
Great selection of games at reasonable prices. The 1920s claw machines are amazing to see and play! Systems are generally well maintained and employees responsive to issues (e.g. game out of tickets).
Arcade games are awesome, But very addicting, you start playing and the next thing you know it's 3hrs later. ???? this is what I came home with this year
The workers were amazing but a few machines were glitching and it was too busy and crowded to get it addressed and the claw machines were only holding on to X amount of animals so skill only matters if you hit it at the right time which is frustrating for both kids and parents alike. The other arcades are a lot more open and therefore easier to enjoy.
One of the better arcades in OC. Plenty of fun
Old school skee ball and claw machines plus many other cool old machines which are only 50? or so. Air hockey tables and pinball too. The staff are super friendly waiting for kids to pick their toys out at the counter and usually a maintenance man around if anything goes funky on you which is nice. Always a stop when we go to the boardwalk, twenty dollars worth of quarters and you'll be well ready for French fries.
One of my kids must haves while on vacation in o.c.! There is always something new and they are so helpful if a game steals a quarter! They now have cards you can load money on instead of carrying around quarters!
Hard to find game attendings, service at the ticket trade in counter is slow and hard to understand the help. They do have some old games that still work.
Lots of fun games! There's one play until you win claw game towards the back left. Cool vintage games too.
It's a very fun arcade with a nice array of games to play. The claw machines are a little more on the difficult side and one even got stuck. But the staff was very attentive and helpful, and fixed the issue quickly.
Good mix of cool vintage machines and newer games. Grandson had great time!
Great arcade with lots of variety. I was impressed that they actually had games that my 2 year old and 3 year old could easily play and enjoy without getting frustrated. The old school cranes in the back were a nice surprise.
The whole family had a fun time playing games. From 5 to 75. Fun colorful flashing noisey happy place. Careful, you can go broke without realizing it...
Old and run down but still fun with some cool games to play
So sad what that this great memory of my youth has turned into. Every game is geared towards winning you tickets - rather than say entertainment and enjoyment - which you can trade for any one of a myriad of forgettable trinkets they offer. Spend $2 for 30 seconds of Space Invaders, win 100 tickets, go home with a little plastic slinky. With the possible exception of ski-ball which seems about as I remember it, everything here is tuned to take as much cash from you in as short a time as possible. There's n
Horrible experience. All the ski ball machines wouldn't work and kept taking all my quarters same with some of the other machines. All the workers besides one old guy were so blantly rude it was ridiculous. One worker accused me and my family of lying while asking for a refund for a game that ate a whole dollar in quarters. The whole place seemed like one big money scam. I lost about $15. Definitely recommend having fun at other arcades near by.
Half of the games are broken, they take your money anyway
Decent arcade! Felt that the space was pretty well laid out, they had lots of employees working. The machine seemed to be in very good condition. Reasonable prices, very similar to other arcades that are in tourist attraction areas. Felt that the place was pretty clean as well. Had a fun time, and it wasn't too busy. We did go on a weekday in the afternoon.
We love Marty's! It's a must for us every time! Hubby hit the jackpot on Deuces wild video poker! 4000 tokens!
Been a family favorite for over 40 plus years. Lots of memories have be created here. They still have a good amount of the games I use to play as a little girl. My nephew's played for over 2 hours for about $30 each. The only thing I wish they would do is put more toys in the vintage claw machine. My kids would play for hours and go home and play with them for hours.
It took many weeks/months. But we saved our points and got the Mermaid...
Not the same as it used to be. Games are expensive, claw machines impossible to win, need mega amount of tickets to get a small dollar prize! Grew up coming here and now it seems focused on making money and not family fun!
The only arcade I go to in Ocean City! I love this place!
You have to keep an open mind of how arcades work. They're suppose to offer some fun in exchange for money. You're not going to get anything decent unless you put up at least $100. The claw machines are super rigged, I'd just avoid them. Yes, they have some amazing prizes in them but they're almost impossible to get. They're made to pay out once every 50 or so tries. That aside, they have a great selection of games. The old school claw machines are very interesting and amusing. The staff were pretty friendl
This was my favorite place as a kid. Skeeball is still near the front, many of the weird and wild old ticket producing games are hiding in the back and worth checking in on.
Always a fun time, but the claw machines would not pick up anything. I always like the mini one in the back fed my quarter in the machines wouldn't work. But I did win a lot of points and got some amazing prizes. I guess you take a chance.
I've been going to Marty's for over 70 years. My first trips there were at my mother's side as she would go in to play slot machines in back. They were legal in OC at that time. In the late 50s and 60s. I was probably in there daily almost every day in summer. When I was pre teen, I'd play the claw machines . I had more marbles from them then I could ever use until I got my first sling shot. I loved the skee ball machines an got pretty good at them. They are still fun. Prizes are fun but if
Ocean City Staple! When u go make sure you bring a quarter to get your fortunes told.
The claw machines in the back are cheap and kids enjoy winning the smaller toys. Haven't had much luck on any of the other machines
RIP OFF! My daughter won what she thought was an 1,000 ticket roll on the claw machine, in addition to several other smaller amount rolls. Imagine the look on her face when the young lady at the counter said we only had 800-some tickets total! Their explanation was we must have gotten an "indigo blue" roll worth less than 1,000 tickets than the "light blue" roll actually worth 1,000 tickets. For some reason, they couldn't locate our ticket rolls that they had just scanned. The machine has the ticket denomin
We had a great time here. We were there for HOURS playing all kinds of games Customer service was so great, we had a machine eat some money and they took care of the problem quickly and with a smile. I dropped my wallet and found it quickly with nothing missing. The prizes are amazing and they were so great with my kids. This is my favorite arcade in Ocean City and we will absolutely be back every vacation here. No question.
Some of the games are fun, skeeball, the piano game and some of the smaller claw machine games in the back. BUT don't play any of the big ticket claw machine games, ESPECIALLY the ones right on the boardwalk. I gave them a few tried with no luck and watching throughout the night I didn't see a single person win so pleeeease do not waste your money on those claw games.
MARTY'S NOOOOO!! I've been coming to Marty's for 45 years, every summer, and what I look forward to most is playing AIR HOCKEY with my dad (whose now 80). This year Marty's changed the game so that scoring only goes to 5, not 7 as God and country intended. SHAME, MARTY'S, SHAME!!! Air Hockey scores go to SEVEN!! This is the most ridiculous shrinkflation ever and Im MAD MAD MAD about it.
I had left a bad review on 12/2021. I gave them another chance (4/2022). They have improved alot. They still had some machines broken but they were clearly marked and had employees fixing them. My kids had a blast. I would say to go during open season.
My kids had fun, but it was a frustrating experience for me. Half of the machines ate our money, didn't work properly after we had paid, or didn't give us tickets when we used coins. It happened too many times to ask for assistance.
Crushed a ton of arcade today with my son. Great selection and discounted prices for the off-season - way to go! Surprisingly $20 bucks went pretty far for the two of us. Will certainly return with the whole family next time!
Claws let go everytime. The Games do not give you all the balls or time they are supposed to. I'd give this a negative review if possible.
Best part of the boardwalk. I played skeeball as a child and now I take my son there. He loves it too. Build happy childhood memories here. Then get some ice cream next door.
We stay here every year for at least the last 12-15 years! Love it ! Rooms are clean...convenient bc it's on the boardwalk and they put up with our loud large family !! We LOVE Marty's!!! (Kids do too bc it's upstairs from the arcade lol)
The embodiment of ripoff and shady business. Half of the machines broken, less than accommodating staff, and absolutely horrible payoffs. We had almost 5 bucks eaten by the "working" machines. Don't waste your time here on your vacation. The single worst arcade in our lives.
Fun place and cheerful people. This is a little gem on the boardwalk and we have a ton of fun there. Pinball is too expensive but other games are reasonable. It's clean but there aren't bathrooms. We own a house in OC and Marty's never gets old. I don't even play video games at home. It's just fun... a lot of fun.
Marty's was almost like it was 40 years ago when me and my wife went to the ocean for our Honeymoon. We loved playing the games and tried to win prizes for our Grandchildren since most prizes were geared for the younger crowd but qe did get a nice little sand art star. We really missed the candy claw machines, they were our favorite. We had a great time and brought back great memories, thanks
Such an iconic place, great to see it pass the test of time. They still have their old skeeball machines (my personal favorite) and tons of other new games. Great place for both old and young. They now have a card program too so you can load the card and swipe it to play games. They were running a promo, load $20 on the card get $2.50 extra, $30 gets you $5 extra.
This arcade?s claw machines were awful! They would grab the toy and right before the drop zone would drop it right before the item reached the drop zone. The claw arms were too weak to hold the item and the items were stacked so tightly together so no one could get a prize, big or small! Many machines were broken! I was so disheartened by the obvious greed I witnessed, upsetting to children and adults.
We drove all the way from Pennsylvania with our three grandchildren to enjoy your arcade. As we arrived with excitement at 5:00, we were told they were closing. We read on the website that your closing time was 6:00. When we arrived, we were told ?Sorry, We will reopen tomorrow.? My grandchildren and other families that had arrived left with very disappointed children. I suggest you either correct your website or be more sensitive to your very young customers.
This ended up being a bad experience for us. It was just our luck finding 3 different machines that were messed up. They were operating since it still took our points but we couldn't play them. Having to stand around waiting for a maintenance person to get there is extremely inconvenient when we're also paying per minute to park. You would think for the middle of summer during peak tourism, this place would keep up with their stuff. There are plenty of other arcades to choose from in OC so I would recommend
I have been coming here since I was young. It is definitely one of the best arcades I have ever been to. It has always been a lot of fun and we have always enjoyed getting different prizes there.
Fun games except the fact that half the machines are our coins and when me and my family asked for a refund they called me and my family a liar. The only nice thing about the place was this one sweet old man who would refund us and was very kind.
First off, this is an arcade and a very fun one at that. As someone who grew up here, this place has always been my favorite. My Great-Grandfather actually helped to build the place and a lot of the other buildings in the area, mind you I have a different last name now. The staff is always helpful and kind. Definitely stop in!
Been a family favorite place for almost 30 years. Some of the games are ancient reminding my husband and me of our childhood and manynew games. We happen to just love arcades and collecting tickets for prizes.
If I could give this place no stars I would. My family has come here for years and it's just gotten worse and worse for years. One year we had bed bugs and did not give us a cent back. This year we paid the deposit for the regular room we get every year and they gave it to someone else out from under us and now we had to book another hotel and spend money when we did not have to. While I understand management changed books need to be kept better in order to not make this happen. This is the last time we are
The arcade was great the associates on the other hand were not the lady shorted me in change (2 dollars) per each 20 dollars in coins we got. (100 dollars worth) with the amount of people that come in there that's a lot of money that people are getting shorted and is going into someone's pocket. I counted the change right on the counter she said I was wrong and was rude about saying something so we just went about our business. Long story short the place is great but some of the people are not.
Great arcade. They've upgraded recently and now have cards that you can scan on nearly every machine.
All kinds of games...earn tickets to buy cool stuff. They have praised from 1 ticket to 1000000 tickets. Plus some games you win prides right from the claw machines. Many different games that are fun to play. Plus there are games that don't earn prizes but earn your name in the victory board. So much fun for kids and adults.
I miss the old wood floors.
That claws machines don't work! You can have it dead center on a prize or ticket reel and it won't hold anything. Some of the classics are still good but it really limits what you can do to actually have fun.
Not what it used to be. Been going here for 30+ years and it's not well taken care of. Half the games are broken and when you ask the attendant for help they ignore you. Only saving grace is old fashioned quarter machines in the back.
Was going to just give 3 stars because it's an okay place.... Not really an arcade... Similar to Chuck e Cheese where you play "games" for tickets. Gets 4 stars because the staff is super friendly and we were there in the off season, so the atmosphere is a slower pace which isn't the fault of the establishment... At least they were open.
One of my favorite arcades since I was a kid. Been going there for close to 40 years & always makes me feel good. They even have a nice collection of old school games like pinball, skeeball, grab machines & air hockey. The AC is always cranking & keeping it cool too.
I remember playing ski ball when I was four years old and for years, I brought my son in thinking that I was teaching him some thing, but he already knew Marty?s is magical? even when the world is in chaos, or in the middle of the storm, Marty?s has always been be a safe place full of fun and happiness
While I understand the need for most games to be a dollar to play, the most important game, skee ball is still a quarter. Good mix of classic and current arcade games. Decent ticket distribution and prizes. Takes you back to a better time. It's fairly easy to spend hours here just enjoying the atmosphere. A boardwalk classic
Staff were kind and place was air conditioned. Most games there steal your money, and not in a rigged kind of way, they actually make you put your money into the games and machines and then it just doesn't work or start.
All the claw machines were scams for the most part. Most of the games were really old, broken, or the lights on the games were messed up. There was also mixed adult games with the kids games, like a whole row of just poker machines right next to a kids fishing game. The only thing that made this arcade better than the other was the workers. They were pretty nice.
Fun place, lots of game options. However I spent 60 dollars to get enough tickets for 12 tootsie rolls...lol
I have been coming here for a few years now...staff is very friendly, helpful, and courteous...most machines are working...i like the dueces wild( 21 and over), yahtzee, and Willie Wonka...for me the best time is winter as there are fewer people, but the atmosphere is still warm and inviting...i got a nice electric grill( like George Foreman) with my points...
Bad /ok. If you have 30 tickets are less your rankings by for toys is VERY low.its crowded. And the game to get free tickets it's like 18 times out of 20 you get tickets and not very much. But in the bright sod I did have fun and got candy and my family had fun so that's all that matters.??
Been going for 34 years, now my kids go. Oc icon
I used to love this place. The old games are great, but unfortunately the Skee Ball ate out money.... 3 times. The pinball is unbalanced, they've let it go a little bit.
Not sure if it is still the same but of all the boardwalk arcades this one is our favorite. You can still use quarters (not tokens) so you don't get stuck with a handful of tokens if you have to leave in a hurry. A much wider selection of prizes to choose from and a wide variety of both older and newer games makes finding something you like a possibility for any generation.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
