Mardi Gras Arcade located on the Boardwalk at Daytona Beach Florida. Even though the website says it takes Quarters....it does NOT!!! We took a shit load of quarters! They do except $1-$20 and you can reload the card! The points and tickets do not expire! As long as you save your card! They also times the ticket by 5, so each one ticket is technically 5 tickets! They you redeem for prizes at end of room! There is also a snack area there with a counter and old fashion bar stools where you can order food! Dri
Five stars all the way! As a mom, I'm always looking for fun, safe, and clean places to take my kids?and Mardi Gras Arcade is the BEST! From the moment we walk in, the lights, the sounds, the excitement. you just can't help but smile. My boys love it here and honestly, I do too! We laugh, play games together, win tickets, and pick out prizes. It's just good, old-fashioned family fun. Every time we come, we make memories. It's our favorite stop on the boardwalk. Highly recommend for families of all ages!
They just got a new Vr game. I've been coming here for years and the Godzilla vr game has been the best game I've played. I've came everyday and it's great price as well. Not just that but the best games you can think of all at ur fingertips. Trust me and go to this arcade. It truly is the best in Florida.
This place takes you back in time, I mean come on how can you not love a arcade on the board walk with the mighty Atlantic next to you. They have a wide variety of games that spit out tickets so you can win prizes. There is also a greasy spoon inside with plenty of options and the coldest beer all with very reasonable prices, the food is actually really good also. It's fun for the whole family. It's definitely a place to check out if your I'm the area and get sucked back in time.
old white guy santa-looking ass at the ticket exchange wasn't helpful at all and miscounted the tickets. He said we only had 500 left but actually it was 7,215 so i missed out on at least 2 small plushies worth 3,500. We had 3 cards, card one had 350 tickets, card two had 40 tickets, and card three had 2,390 tickets. The machine (power roll game) ate our 1,663 tickets. I have video proof. They multiply the tickets by 5. So in total we had 22,215 tickets (350+40+2,390+1,663=4,443 and 4,443x5). Exchanged 15k
Great prices and great service! Sweed is a great guy and the cheesesteak he whipped up was amazing! (coming from my bf who is a Philly fan and has a high standard for PCS) probably the cheapest place to get a beer as well! will be returning next visit to Daytona!
You don't often come across an arcade unless it's through a big chain. This place is treasure despite its age. It's nostalgic. It could use a face lift. The isles are barely wide enough to accommodate my wheel chair. The bathroom we used didn't accommodate my wheelchair. I couldn't even make it even inside. The stalls inside were tiny. From what I noticed all the games were in working order. When in town we'd stop in again.
Me and my boyfriend came and we loved it!! We ate in the little cafe and had a very sweet and nice gentlemen in a pink hat help us with our order! He was very friendly and while we were waiting for him to make our root beer float (which is a MUST have) he was cracking jokes with us while we waited. Very sweet workers and amazingly priced food!
Definitely an old school boardwalk beach arcade. I thought the games they had were pretty good, definitely great prices. Anyone with 4 kids can tell you most arcades are painfully expensive.
Complete rip off game machines don't work properly dose not give correct amount of tickets. They ripped my 5 year old son off and had no problem doing so
I was personally a bit scared when first approaching the lovely arcade. But don't get me wrong I love creepy places so it was okay. The big white van parked out front was what caught my eye (the stray cats were a bonus). There was a family in front who walked in and as soon as they walked in the lights shut off. The mom looked at me in fear and they walked out right away. Only moments later was when an unusual man walked out of the closet and closed the store at 8pm NOT 10pm without even acknowledging us. H
You get a lot for your money unlike most arcades. The games were cool and ice cream was good. $30 went a long way here.
We had a great time here. Lots of arcade games to choose from and you don't have to spend a ton of money to have a good time. They have upgraded their machines to game cards and that is very convenient because you don't have to deal with managing money with the machines. We had a few of the Skee ball games taking money off of our card without letting is play due to the network going down but the staff up front quickly refunded our money back to the card so we could continue playing. Would definitely come ba
My BB.. She absoutly loves this place.. I think we spent over 2hrs here spending a total of 18$.. Not bad... Since we scored free parking now we were able to hit the Slots.... Lol this place is raising up little gamblers... Only becomes a heartache when you try to hard and don't let the talent flow naturally..
I was at the Hilton for a nursing conference and was so grateful to Arielle for making an absolutely delicious ?Super Burger with everything.? She lifted my spirits while delivering amazing customer service and a hearty meal. I am so happy I stumbled upon this fun little food spot a 5 minute walk from the Hilton!!
Small arcade place on the beach serving ice cream and surprisingly - Breakfast !! Located right on the beach with simple breakfast food and american coffee. Cash only . Incredible views and run by local family . Nothing fancy but incredibly relaxing without anybody up-selling . You order at the counter and take it yourself to outside seating area. Bte- burger comes without fires - you have to order them separately .
Great place, old school in Daytona that is excellent for the kids to run around and play games to win prizes. We've lived here and our kids go almost every weekend. Great place to talk to tourist too.
won a jackpot. got some nice prizes. a good chunk of the games weren't working and a lot malfunctioned but you get to play a lot and get a good amount of tickets for what you pay. it's got a nice charm to it but it's a bit... dated
Been coming here since I was a child, and now I'm a mother of 2, and they look forward to our trips to the Boardwalk every time we visit Daytona, so they can play games and win prizes! The staff is always helpful and friendly.
Almost every game was out of service. The guys behind the counter look like they are sleeping half the time. Machines are filthy like they never clean the place. Would give fewer stars but my kids enjoyed themselves on the couple games that did actually work still.
Bet they could care less about reviews. People gonna come here for food, beer and games. Just regular folks trying to make a living . BLT was great! Cheers ....
Enjoyable life of thru 1980 to present! If you want to experiance the life of 1980 to present, come to Daytona Beach, Florida!
Came here since I was 5 years old, the same lady still works there and I love that! that just adds even more charm to that place, the perfect location ever for an arcade!! it has been the same since the very first time I went sooo it's super nostalgic! the atmosphere is really nice, people are friendly and the games are fun! you can walk up and down that strip and never get bored, I love this place!!
Games were okay, staff were also fine. But, my sister who's 7 almost got TRAFFICKED here. How it happened was that she was playing games and this weird staff member came up and said that a child "left" a pink sweatshirt with white elephants on it and asked if she wanted it. Her mother said no but the member continued to beg her to put it on so I believe he could track her. Scary place. DO NOT GO HERE! Also, place was shady and very dirty. We ended up blowing the rest of our card on a coin game.
Best fun in Daytona! Love that it stays open late being it's the biggest entertainment selection on the pier. Great for kids and adults. My husband and I enjoy playing Deal or No Deal. The prize selection for tickets are great and realistic (how many tickets needed to retrievean item). The diner there has the best Philly Cheesestake and adult beverages. A great day or night of family fun!
This place was really clean. My grandson and I had a great time.
Noce spot to chill and hang out with friends. They also have food in the back. Cash only.
I believe at some point somebody will get very sick and they will be sued. The guys have very low standards in regards to food handling. Some use gloves, but receive your cash payment still wearing them. Others don't use gloves (or at least not all the time). I had to step up once one of them handled my grilled cheese after being around and touching money. He denied it, obviously. Another employee told me this guy is the person om charge of the grill?.. oh well, What can we expect? The man offered
Great strawberry daiquiri. Signed by THE PERFECT TOUCH SALON -orange city. (Hair extensions gawd)
Machines need repaired, you will get screwed out of tickets. They're always closing early whether anyone is playing games or not.
Guy watched us put money in the machine to play some games and as soon as our game card came out he said we had to leave and couldn't use any of the games! Didn't even say it very nice. Keep in mind, they didn't close for another two hours.
We come here every year around the beginning of May and we love visiting Mardu Gras! Great little place for breakfast or a quick snack! The view is great and Jonathan is always a pleasure.
I'd give 0 stars if I could. Do not pay attention to the business hours listed, these people close when they want to. They decided to close two hours early but allowed us to come inside and purchase game cards before stopping us mid game and telling us we had to leave. Refused a refund. The lady running the ticket counter had an extremely bad attitude about it. When she watched us purchase the card and then told us we had to leave, I explained that their hours read until 11pm. She replied with, "not tonight
Love this place! Been coming here since I was a kid and love bringing my kids here! You really get your money's worth in games.
I used to love this arcade. It had a fun atmosphere and I felt like a child again. But something changed. They got rid of the paper tickets. It is now digital cards like every other arcade. With this, they are overpriced and you only get to play half the games with a more expensive cost. Would have gave it 5 stars a year ago, but not anymore.
Fun old school arcade. Food there too. Sort of dirty..but on the beach.
We took my two grandchildren there as a reward for doing well in their studies and they really enjoyed it. We went when it was not too crowded and I know the kids enjoyed themselves. The employees at the snack bar were also very attentive. Thank you for a lovely time!
Steal your money, the guy in the back behind the counter has a poor attitude towards customers, the new card system rips you off on your money, you can't add as many tokens as you want, it ripped my daughter off on 400 tickets, and you have to tap a card on the machines at 3 tokens a piece, so if your game takes 10 tokens you have to tap it 4 times to be able to play one round, so all in all, find a different arcade to go to, this business owner should be ashamed of himself for ripping little kids off li
This place has a few games. Not very many and some don't work. The prizes to game tickets given are completely out of line. My daughter had 800 tickets and walked away with a yo-yo. A $20 yo-yo? lol come on. The lady behind the counter yelled at her bc my kid asked for the yo-yo and the lady never responded so she asked a second time and the lady yelled I'm getting it it would you hold on. My daughter uses her manors and says please and thank you. So I felt this was uncalled for. Won't be going back.
Love this arcade and the people who work there. There is a guy that is always there behind the back counter when we go and he is the sweetest. Whenever we've had a problem with a machine the issue has always been fixed quickly. Also one of the nicest kids came up to my daughter and gave her all his tickets. He said he didn't need them. Nicest place
This place is good .. kids doing so much fun .. but who people work over there.. they old women and other old men both are talk rude to kids and my brother ?? when we ask about game not work properly.. he came and talk us like we are stupid ?? .. she says I call police for you.. so stupid people I never go back again .. I am stop ?? now.
I took my 2 kids here to play and enjoy a chilly windy day at the beach. I sat on the boardwalk watching them as they play. I noticed one of the workers (and older guy that was working the prize stand in the back) had come up to where my kids were and stared at them for quite some time before approaching them. Of course I was watching the entire time and when I approached the guy he acted like the kids had been doing something wrong and refused to make eye contact with me. They're both 7 and had done absolu
The employees behind the prize desk are extremely rude! It was around closing time and I was trying to turn in my tickets and I was told I had to leave and save them even though I don't live near here. They kept repeating that they were closing and finally gave in to cashing out my tickets. The whole time they were extremely rude and the bathrooms are beyond disgusting they probably never clean them ever. All the games are pretty much broken or steal all your coins. I will not be returning.
Great place though they only take cash as their sister company did too. But better service and care for the customers especially at the snack bar at Joyland. ( Which is no longer with us ) At least some of the care from Joyland was carried over to Mardi Gras. Particularly Ariel.
This place is absolute GARBAGE! We took our kids here at 8:45pm, website says they close at 11pm. There are 2 employees who have NO BUSINESS working around children, they watched us walk up to the kiosk, purchase $30 worth of play cards, let us play 1 game then said "WERE CLOSING DOWN !" I argued that the closing time was 11pm and the snobby woman working there said "we're closing early because we want to" then she refused our refund! CROOKS! DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!
Had a blast there with a friend playing games and giving my tickets did the parents of little children who were trying to get something from the gift shop. I lost my phone while I was in there and staff found it and turned it in and I got it back. Great people! They also serve alcohol for those who drink
I work here and absolutely love this place! We're extremely friendly and willing to help anyone with issues. We're not your typical arcade! Come on out and visit us, bring the whole family. Dad can have a beer and Mom can have a mixed wine while the kids enjoy the arcade. You can even save your points thru a voucher that has no expiration date!
I used to c9me to this place with my kids when we were out visiting family. About every few months. We usually spend about $500 every visit. This was the place for us adults to relax and play our favorite game and the kiddos go around to play theirs. This time they have these new cards that you put money on and it saves your tickets on them. The machine that the adults play it took 30min to add 50 spins with the tap card and then the machine kept skipping over the coins that were supposed to drop. I caught
Visited today, 5/28/21. The good: more staff than I have ever seen! Most of the games were repaired and working, which is not usually the case. The bad: only one of the two ticket munchers was operating. They were pretty busy with the holiday weekend. The one working machine got to 1,000+ on our ticket count, went blank, then started over! $20 of played games and almost 2,000 tickets printed out as 840! They did make it good, but gave me the speech about ?it's been working fine all day.? We have v
Pros: They had a diverse selection of games to choose from. Cons: Many of those games were either out order or malfuntioning and showing their age. We had dropped by the night before shortly before closing and saw a decent selection of classic pinball machines but upon returning the following day only 2 of the machines were operational. It's unclear if they had the coin slots taped over because they were broken or for health and safety reasons. I see many reviews here about how this venue brings back nost
We love this place!! Games are awesome, and prices to play are cheap! They offer food and drink as well!! Great place to visit while in Daytona on the boardwalk. Carefully watch the ticket counter when redeeming, the counter will incorrectly count but the staff will correct the issue. Staff is very helpful so with that said we recommend visiting while in Daytona Beach on the board walk.
We come here every year for our annual family fun day. This year we brought our foster baby who had a great time. The only downfall was the man at the counter. He was so rude, not helpful and was just plain creepy. He would just stare at you after you would ask for help and circle around you, very strange. Charlie, the man who takes care of the machines, was so helpful and great!
Bartender Josh Otto was absolutely awesome! Very personable and patient with the kids. Made us some great drinks and even hung out with with us after he got off work. We had such a good time that we are making the 2.5hr trip again today!
My grandkids love playing the games and winning prizes!
Fun and retro setting! Older arcade games and newer. Coin machines down but they did have quarters. Some games were down but not many. I don't like the alcoholic and visible drunks around all the kids but overall it was a decent environment the good outweighed the bad. We had fun!
Not how I remember as a child. They have hardly no machines/games working. They have tape over where you place your quarter. They were out of alotnof the food or drinks we asked for. The quarter machines didn't work and the games we played kept taking our tickets. The prizes are way too much so you can barely get anything for your tickets. The AC vents above your head are all black and scary looking. Everything was just SAD. Put some money, love and care into your business quick before you loose it!!!!!
Fun place, lots of games to play. However, there were a couple of issues. A couple of the arcade games didn't work properly, and as I ordered some water I saw 2 cockroaches on the loaves of bread they keep on the counter. Not sure if I'd buy the food from there but it's a good place to pass time.
Lots of games were broken, hot with no air circulating and took us 30 min to turn in tickets! When it was finally our turn, attendant skipped us, I let it go at first but after he helped 3 people that came after us and then someone who had just walked up, I spoke up and he said we weren't in the right spot - apparently we needed to be a little more to the right. I said, we came up behind someone you had just served and where is the sign saying we need to be over there? He was rude and slow! That whole ar
Old fashioned amusement center with lots of games. We took our two grandsons, ages 5 and 8, and they had a great time competing on the racing games. Lots of skeeball, and ticket earning games but the prizes are super chintzy. We were there for the fun. Beer, soft drinks and food available. Beautiful views of the ocean.
I wish I could rate this place with a 13 star status ?? AN ABSOLUTE BLAST ?? My wife and I played here 3 different times on our vacation this year. They have a very large variety of prizes to choose from! Their customer service is spectacular! If a machine jams up or takes your money, they are quick to come fix it and they'll give you a free play and/or free tickets!!! It's right on the boardwalk near the Pier. SoOo much fun for everyone!!!!
Good place to take the family. We had a really good time! Other then it being very crowded they have good arcade games, a big selection, and their all either 25? to $1.00 per game. And just like any other arcade you go to when you go to cash in your tickets the prizes are cheap but that's anywhere..
Love coming here with my children!!! Been coming here for over 10yrs. Great staff and they are always willing to help out. Great new games and lots more games to win easier. Lol it's great to see it packed with children and smiles plastered on there faces. Love the atmosphere and all around vibe. Also has great prizes for the children and adults too. Help local businesses stay open on the boardwalk. Come play party have fun and enjoy some drinks too.??????
Kid loves coming to Dayton for the arcade. Thank you
Do not spend your money here!!! Half of the games do not work and they will not assist you!! ?Wifi? was the problem but if you ask me you shouldn't be taking peoples money to charge them for games that they cant play!!!!! Rude, poor customer service. They basically accused me of lying and saying the games didnt work, because i really want to sit here arguing with them right??? What a joke! If youre miserable at your job, work somewhere else!
Was pleasantly surprised by this fun little arcade. My son and I had a great time playing the games. The employees were very kind and helpful as some of the games didn't work properly but we were immediately taken care of and the situation fixed. Plenty of newer games plenty of nostalgic games, a nice little collection by the beach. Definitely worth a stop, not to mention they also have a snack bar with a full menu including beverages. Frozen daiquiris, pina colada, etc, including alcohol are served all day
The most crowded arcade I have ever been in. The 2 older gentleman Manning the prize station were super nice. My 2 life had a blast. The games were awesome, especially The Simpsons arcade game! I had fun myself. They do take cash ONLY, but have an ATM inside, asking with a ton of food items. It's located right on the boardwalk, next to where the awesome ferris wheel used to be.
I LOVE this place! It's on the Boardwalk. They have a place to eat there but I've never tasted the food. The games are fun and most of them are 50 cents so it doesnt break the bank. They have change machines and employees walking around to help constantly (most of them have change kn them as well). We've been there about 3 times and loved it everytime we visit Daytona
Kids had a great time. Helpful employees ??
Long live Mardi Gras!!!
On the boardwalk at Dayton Beach. What kid doesn't like a video game arcade? Still takes quarters but couple of change machines there so no worries... Food served, and parking right out front, same thing, feed the meters with quarters.
Kids always enjoy playing games here! Money goes fast when most games are 50 cents to $1.00 to play. Wish there were better prizes for the point value since games cost so much to play. Nice options at snack bar, reasonable prices.
My fiancee and I have been coming here since highschool. It may be smaller and does not have the hustle and bustle of Gametime but I will always come here first. You can have a great time for far less money. There's something more personal and enjoyable about a quieter arcade. You don't get lost in all the noise like you would a large chain arcade. Also being right near the beach is always a bonus!
Me and my chick are big fans of old school arcades and it's definitely got that vibe. Some machines dont always work may lose a coin or two but hey, it is what it is. We always have a blast. We'll be continuing to go there.
Man name RAY complete ass told my nephew he couldn't get a football until we can start kneeling for a flag he is only 11. He just could of I'm not selling football now. My daughter was 5 point from getting a toy he told her no. I watch with my own eyes as he gave another kids something that was100 tickets short covered it up and rolled his eyes. I wish I knew that before I spent 120 dollars there. But the guys cooking apologized and were very nice.
Most games are malfunctioning and not giving out tickets. Attendants can't be bothered to help
Very expensive some of the games are out of service but it's a great atmosphere and fun for all ages. The food smells great despite their low budget kitchen. All items however are ridiculously overpriced. Almost every item is close to 5 dollars or more. It's obvious these owners are trying to capitalize on children demanding things be given to them.
Stopped into get food for one of our kids and my friend sat at the bar area and watched the guy behind the counter serve everyone but her even though he made contact with her and in a rude way says he will help her when he is finished. What kind of place is this to have an employee like this he was very disrespectful. If the owners ever read this please contact me I have pictures of him.
This place is fun, a little rundown but still fun if you like playing games and having a drink and people watching by the beach. I'm a local and wouldn't really go later in the evening though.
Love this place, the arcade has changed little since I first came here in the late 80s. Most of the old school games are still a quarter per play. I always stop in here when I'm in town to play a couple games. The staff is friendly and the food is decent...
Absolutely the best Arcade we've been to. Amazing customer service. Bernie and Kitty helped make my kid a very very happy boy! Seriously can't thank them enough!! Will continue to come back year after year. Thanks you guys!!!
Place is ok, but $4 for an egg?
This is the absolute grossest place you could ever bring your kids to. It is absolutely filthy I can not believe this place is allowed to be open. Disgusting ??
Pat behind the prize counter is Amazing! It is easy to see that he loves working with people and is there because he enjoys putting a smile on others faces. Besides that the games are fun and reasonably priced! My wife and I got some cool prizes including shot glasses!
This place is a cool throw back to old school arcades. Good place to take the kids. They serve pizza, snacks and beer. Parking, $20 out front and $5-$10 a 1/4 mile walk away. Bathrooms smell like urine, everyday. All day.
It was okay... I liked it but it was weird seeing people with no shoes and it looked dirt inside and it was alot you need at least 20 bucks in quarters to have a good time but my kids had fun so that's the best
My experience was an exact week before the rollercoaster derailment' not surprised at all! The city and boardwalk are run down and not maintained by the city. Unsafe they let homeless people hang out in the store to cool down watch your little girls they stare hard and hold your purse or bag close one woman brushed me and I'm pretty sure they were trying to get in my purse. If that's not enough. Prizes are a RIP off! Spent over a $100 for 4 people and ended up with a slappy hand a yo yo and a finger puppet.
Soooooo many other changes over the years... BUT the Mardi Gras Fun Center still stands... YEAH!!! Here in 1985 with children 2, 9, 11, and 14... Back this week with that once 9-year-old!!! She and I had soooooo much fun!!! Thanks for the continued memories!!!
A nice arcade spoiled by the blonde, miserable lady manager, who seems to take pleasure in upsetting young children. The rest of the staff were lovely and friendly, but I feel sorry for them.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
