Customer Reviews

1st time coming to Main Event in Pharr and it'll be the last. We came early to beat the crowd but me and my wife grew inpatient with the service. While bowling we ordered a Big Super Fun Sunday with only 1 customer behind us. The cashier said it would take 5 minutes to make the donut holes which sounded fine. We waited 34 minutes for it, ridiculous. My kids wanted to play Laser Tag and get on the Gravity rope course. We talked to the employees and they said it was just 2 of them tending to the 3 areas (Gra

We came to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and this was the first time any of us had been here and didn't know what to expect. We walked up to the desk and asked what kind of party packs they had since we were new and didn't know and we were just looked at like we were stupid and told just what they had on the board. Earlier in the day, we had looked at the website and saw they had party packs, so she showed them, and they said they couldn't do those. When we went to the dining area, we waited for 20 minu

Great place to take the kiddos to unwind and also games vary in age experience so everyone can play and have a good time. Wish they had more kitchen staff, bartenders and game attendants to make the experience just a little better and cut down on service lags. Burgers are great. Wish the food selection was better but you can't go wrong with a burger. Prizes are nice and not too far fetched on ticket accumulation. Over all, it's a good time for all!

I took my team tonight and the best time ever. The managers Nathan and Jackie made sure my team were taken care of. Jude the server was awesome.

Waited by the host booth seriously about 10 minutes. Staff kept seeing me there waiting then ignored me and my son. After waiting for so long even my 7 year old asked my why no one was helping us. He went to get the waiter and told him we were just going to sit down so that we wouldn't be waiting anymore. The disappointing thing was the fact that so many staff and waiters looked at us and didn't come ask if we needed help or to be seated. Fried pickles were good, I got some wings and asked for them to be ex

Omg! Best place. First time laser tagger.... FUN! did the walk in the high thing... didn't get far lol my wife went one way and went back to get off lol super fun. I'm 37 and I have to tell you. This place is great for the whole family. We even did a little bowling.

Bathroom was in need of upkeep and remodel. I could of paid to stay at Motel 6 for same for alot less..I've seen the same at Embassy in Austin, Chicago, and now here. Must be a trend and no longer staying after 3 dissatisfied stays

Clean and fun. Food was delicious and was out fast. Kids had a blast playing games and doing the Gravity rope. They have laser tag as well.

I like this place. Fun activities. Everything works. I wish the workers were a little more interested in people having fun. They seemed a little bit grumpy sometimes. The person assisting at the desk was very helpful though.

Our son really wanted to have a laser tag bday party so we decided to book it at Main Event in Pharr. We were very happy with their excellent services. The party staff was polite and attentive. They brought out the food on time, they brought us extra items, and they were on top of the drinks. The team leader was polite and very flexible. I'm not sure if they gave us the option to start the food early because we were the first party there, but we were glad they did that for us. We got pepperoni pizza, cheese

Dont waste your money in booking a party here! I booked the private space room rental which includes dedicated party hosts. I spent majority of the time having to go look for my hostes and found them everytime standing in the kitchen staring at cooks prepare food, while i had party guests who needed refills and napkins (which they did not provide prior or at time of food). Both hosts lacked movitation and speed. The food took forever to come out and just didnt have good flow with scheduling of the events.

This is the 2nd time I went to main event but first time has an event with TFC women ministry. I want to thank Stephanie made me feel welcome private room was huge clean they where very attentive Food was yummy First time bowling it was so much fun can't wait to go back again with my family??????

I've been going to main event in pharr for several years now it's always been a great place to go and have fun with the family. This was the first time the service was horrible. I understand the place was busy due to having parties going on but I was in my bowling bay for over 15 minutes and no one came to offer service. I walked to 3 different employees. 1 in a red shirt, 1 in a bluish shirt, and finally tracked down a server with a purple shirt. Her attitude wasn't the best and seemed like she'd rather be

Our Women?s group from TFC Ministry recently had the pleasure of spending the evening at Main Event, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience?largely thanks to the incredible service we received from Stephanie Alaniz! Thanks to Stephanie, the women at TFC Ministry had a day filled with joy, laughter, and connection. We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional service and your heart of giving to others. Thank you, Stephanie, for making our time at Main Event so memorable. You're a true

Loved the attention we had from the moment we walked in. Waiter was excellent. All the food came out on time. Boys enjoyed it so much and us as adults as well. Had so much fun bowling. Ask for Alan as a waiter if he is available, the best.

Great birthday experience for my son thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate his special day!

[Update!Changed from 2 star to 1 because they clearly didn't read it nor do they care, just an automatic response to use a link to contact, which i clearly state I've already done]So I try not to complain too much and I definitely didn't want to leave negative review or anything. But I had a not so good experience with my child. My child and I moved to the area about 6 months ago and as often as I can.I take himto main event. My child is sixteen but severely cognitively disabled with a host of medical issues

It was our first time going to this place. We liked it. Spacious place. Seems like a lot of stuff you can do in one place. Plus they have food.

went as a group of 13+ people, bowled & played laser tag & ate pepperoni / cheese pizza & had so much fun! nice customization for bowling. only downside is the seating because you can't comfortably watch someone bowl due to the design & tables, but overall it's fun at Main Event :)

I took the family to main event on a Thursday night. It is located on Jackson Rd. about two blocks North of the expressway. The place was crowded, we went to go bowling, but there was an hour and a half wait, so we decided to get game cards from the dispensing machine. My Son and I did the virtual roller coaster, I had never tried on V.R. goggles or the experience. I have to admit I felt nauseous once we were rolling, it was that intense. I closed my eyes and that helped me adjust. I was able to enjoy the e

I have been to Main Event a few times and I must say is always a very enjoyable experience. This time my family and I celebrated my son's 16th Birthday ???? with his friends from school. This time we chose a party package designed specially for teenagers. It included bowling ?? time, laser tag, climbing, two hour of non stopped video game action, meal, unlimited refills, and a small dessert. Again, just like the first time and every single time after that the customer service experience was amazing. Ou

Had an absolute great time! The room we were in, the food & the bowling area were all fantastic. Stephanie Alaniz made our time there even more special. She was so helpful, attentive, and quick to provide help with whatever we needed. We were truly blessed with her dedication to serving others. ??

Hosted a teenage drop-off party, our hostess was a no call, no show, they had find someone else to serve us. The bowling lanes kept malfunctioning during our game, then gave wrist bands out to the kids for them to go play. Two of our older teenagers were playing billiards together and one of the bartenders told them that they exceeded their 30 minute time limit. I went to talk to the bartender and he told me our bracelets were expired for the area. The guys that were on the wait list for a table only played

Great place for the family.. Games and bowling was very fun. Every one was following the mask mandate. They have gloves for you to wear and hand sanitizer in different places. I think it is great how they went over and under to keep us safe. The waiter named Sosa was great and super friendly. ??.. I have a family of 6 and bracelets with food,2 beers and 90 dollars worth of game cards. I spent about 350. So, if u have a large family come with your bankcard fully loaded ??.. Happy Health...

The place was empty and they still made us wait for wverything staff for laser tag never showed than said we missed it when we're waiting for it the entire time for the 2:15 om may 10th. Then proceeded to keep chatting with another 3 employees at the prize center.

First time doing a birthday party and won't be the last. Outstanding costumer service! We had the ultimate gamer package and everyone had a blast. The fact they offered a party host who follows an itinerary really helped with the party organization. The servers were just awesome and even offered to cut the cake for us. My son said, ?best party ever.?

Just got out of there. Thank god it was only the $29 for the pool, cause if I end up paying the $102 for 2 hrs bowling for 2 people, this would be a whole thesis for Master degree. To start, to reserve on the website is a massive headache, back and forth to be able to check out, and I guess with that problem, my 2hrs chosen time, automatically put 0.5hrs. My spot for billiards was for 9pm and I got there at 8:45pm. The gentleman in charge of situating people in that area Told me that there was a wait. Showe

Stephanie Alaniz hosted our Women?s ministry Christmas fellowship and could not be more pleased with the service she and her staff provided. Being able to have a private room to fellowship was such a beautiful experience. Everything from the food, drinks, and bowling was an absolute positive experience. Thank you so much for such great service.

Went in with a party of 6 to play Laser Tag, for context it was a Saturday Night and very busy. After purchasing 6 slots to play laser tag and being told it will be at most a 15 Minute wait. After waiting in line for 20 mins we were told that all the time slots for the next 4 games were full so it would be over an hour to get in as a group. I got a refund and complained that we were not informed of this detail that should have been mentioned at a minimum! Overall NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I will NOT be returni

My family decided to go mid morning to early afternoon. It was nearly empty and to be honest, the perfect time to go when you have toddlers. We chose to sit down to eat in the restaurant and ordered a family meal plus two additional meals for our growing teenagers. It was more food than we expected and the quality did not disappoint. The convenience of the game cards and no paper tickets to track made it so easy to get through the gaming area. It is worth noting though, as the time passed there was a notice

Good luck getting a server here, paid for an hour of bowling and not one server came. Second time this has happened since we've been there and it wasn't even busy. Go here for games but don't expect good service, not to mention we asked 2 times for a server and not one came.

Recently attended a Christmas Women?s party yesterday 12/19/24, and Stephanie Alaniz went beyond the call of duty. She was kind, smiled, and kept checking up on us. We had enough food, drinks, and even helped us in bowling area. I have never experienced this kind of service ever. I hope she gets recognized for all her hard work. Blessings, and definitely going back with my family.

about last night, it was amazing?first time going just for me & a group of incredible ladies, we had lots of fun eating pizza ??, bowling and just distressing. I've taken my boys and always thought it was about them but boy was I wrong, the room was privately enough to have our event, it was perfect ?? Shout out to our host Stephanie for making sure we had an awesome experience ??

Great place to spend with your children. There's a bar where adults can hang out with view towards the playing area to keep an eye on the kids. @memerios1020

Huge thank you to Nathan he was able to accommodate our work holiday party of 30+ at the very last minute unreserved. We all had an excellent time, the food and service were great and timely.

One of my kids favorite place to go and have fun. Kinda word at first because of Covid-19 but let me tell you that they did a great job with CDC guide lines wish I had taken pictures of the sanitation stations that were not only equipped with hand sanitizer, gloves, and maskes but they had these sanitation stations at every corner and in between the play areas. GREAT AND SAFE EXPERIENCE

We had a family outing and it was not a good experience! We started to bowl and nobody came to attend to us. We got really thirsty and had to go to the kitchen and order our water! While the family next to us had a waiter & got served food and drinks. The rest of the employees there were not welcoming and rude.

Where do I start, We were beyond Blessed to have had our Weslaco Woman?s Ministry Christmas Fellowship here. The food was amazing, the Private room made it feel like home from the cleanliness, decorations, employees being friendly and very welcoming, The best part of it all was Stephanie Alaniz she was very hospitable and loving. She welcomed us as we were part of the Main Event Family. We can't wait to future events. Bowling ?? was extremely fun, and the wait staff was always on point with everything we

Wait times are getting ridiculous. Staff needs some serious customer service training. They're very rude and entitled. Pizza is great and the activities are fun. Staff needs to improve.

nice place to spend family time the servers are really sweet & all employees in general make the place easy and fun

Service is literally the worse. Nobody seems to want to work here when it comes to the food services. Really need to re-evaluate management as their obviously no structure.

Rod and Julian were amazing and made sure the birthday boy in our party felt special and like a winner:)

Celebrated my son's 10th Birthday here, everything and everyone was amazing. We had about 4 to 6 hosts at a time, they were all wonderful. The food was fantastic. . Best experience ever. . 5 stars no doubt.

They made my day today, Steph was so nice and had an awesome time. Best ppl work here and excellent staff. Will be coming back!

Had a great time this weekend. We went and did several activities. The laser tag was fun for the whole family the room was big and two floors safe we for kids. We also did the arcade which is the best I've ever seen in a place for kids. It has alot of virtual games and rides it has alot of new modern games as well as the classics like skee-ball. They have bowling which is by appointment and it is great you have a spacious area to eat and play while there. There's about 10 pool tables. For eating theirs a pi

Had a great time at Main Event playing pool with friends! Fun atmosphere, good tables, and friendly staff. Definitely coming back!

May is the time for school fieldtrips. If you are planning to go with your family during this time wait until after 3pm. Schools are there from 9 until 1 and there is a lot to clean up after that.

I just wanted to thank Nathan the manager for squeezing me and my coworkers in for our secret santa event. They Got us a room for our large party of about 30 and our server brought it to our attention that he was getting things out for us and service was just wonderful. Thank you!!

It's a good place, arcade machines need some tune up. It has 2 private bowling lanes & there are some pool tables. When I wanted to exchange my points, it was closed the redemption store. Manager guy is great.

I went with my boys... Monday a little bit cheaper, we had a blast!! Super fun and quality family time. Challenge evening! Looking to be back soonest we can.

It's a cool place to go with the family ?? for lots to do. And it's not that expensive either...The service could be a little better ??...

Super friendly staff great environment if you've not been here defiantly recommend

1st time ever being here. Came to my Niece's one week after Birthday Party and had a great time. As u can see I didn't have time to take pics of the food cuz we were very hungry. I want to send a shout out to Brandon, our waiter, for going above and beyond on making our birthday party a memorable one. DEFINITELY coming back again. Had more family present but that's all I had on my phone... was hungry as heck. Heehe!

Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. We're all adults, but thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We did laser tag, bowling and the arcade. Will definitely be going back. There's a little bit of everything for everyone.

I would like to take the time to say thank you to Stephanie Alaniz at Main Event! We had our Christmas Women?s Ministry event there last night and it was wonderful! From the atmosphere, the private room the event was hosted at, to the food and the friendliness of the staff. A huge thank you to Stephanie for making this event possible!

The bowling lane constantly kept messing up dropping pins also not putting down the right ones. A lot of time wasted on that . Which when getting charged by the hour wasn't a good thind

Extremely family friendly spot to de-stress the whole family without breaking the bank!Plus the staff were really helpful ?? definitely a place to revisit.

Came to meet a friend and was surprised by its size and cleanliness. Everything seems new and well kept. Employees were friendly and bountiful, games are looked fun and new, bowling look pretty cool, they placed large screens directly above every lane so you can watch whatever sports are in season while you bowl. There was also laser tag, a full bar and some good looking food although I did not eat this time. I'll definitely go back in the future to explore more of what they have to offer.

Kassandra and Ivan were vary helpful, excellent service I will definitely be coming back thank you for your patience and thank you for a vary welcoming experience

Went to the bowling bay with the family asked 3 people if we can get refills on our drinks and no one came then after the fourth time our server came in with an attitude and she said" you don't have to wait for me to get you your drinks you can go to the bar and get them your self" is that what the server is there for ?? So I can get my own drinks Horrible service from the team you pay to get a good service and I didn't get that don't recommend them at all if I could give 0 stars I would

Cool place to bring the kids young and old lol they got games arcade lazer tag bowling drinks and foods take a break from home and work and unwind

Food was good. Service was so slow and the waitress didn't give naoki s until we were done eating. No silverware either. It was a busy Saturday night. But our order was also wrong and we waited 20 mins for our drinks. Not the waitresses fault but she apologized for. The games were fun and so far only saw 2 out of order.

Great place for family fun. The manager Steph and the rest of the staff are always so friendly and helpful. I absolutely love this place!

Had an amazing time at Main Event with Weslaco Women?s Ministry! Food was great, room and decorations were beautiful and the service was outstanding. Thank you Stephanie Alan?s for going above and beyond to make our fellowship a memorable one.

Peter was welcoming with amazing customer service. Very attentive and greeted us as soon as we walked in.

We came from our youth group and Peter and Rafa we're a great help. Highly recommend planning an event here ??

Main event is the best place to go to when you want to have fun but the not so fun part is that some of the food items can be a little expensive but trust me if i would wanna have fun i would go to main event ??????

We had my son?s 8th birthday party here today, and everyone had a great time. There were three staff members who helped set up, passed out food, and helped cleaned up. The service was excellent. 10/10 recommend.

Manager Nathan helped helped us out last minute and it was huuuge. UDH holiday dinner, but we forgot to reserve a room/area. Boss man stepped in ?? Thanks a ton.

This place is fire....Alan helped us out and recommended us some amazing drink....definitely recommended this place...thanks Alan for all the help we really appreciate it.

Been there with my lovely girls was super nice exited we enjoyed it thanks for serving awesome ??

I got bowling shoes destroyed with holes on the sides and the Velcro not able to hold. I can't believe they charge me $+4 to wear these shoes. Sad Main Event, really sad.

We had a Christmas Party there and the service and food were amazing. The staff was responsive and very nice, especially Stephanie. Definitely recommend this place for parties.

i went with my boyfriend to the gravity ropes on Thursday night and this guy that was there i think his name was Abraham, he spoke to us with a rude tone for no reason & he looked like he didn't even want to be there made our experience bad

To your comment Owner. The service was good everywhere except at the dining. The server we got was good but overwhelmed and there were alot of other staff just standing around and chatting most of the time. So I was generous with the 4 star on food. The good itself was 4 stars. If it were worth the wait it might have gotten 5 stars. Didn't want to put 4 stars on service when service was good everywhere else.

I had the best time celebrating our Christmas ugly sweater with church family. The staff attentiveness was amazing, the food, delicious, and overall so much fun!

It's good to see Main Event taking every precaution during this time and allowing friends to have fun safely. Sanitizing stations found throughout the venue. Food is hot, fresh and made to order. Beers are cold!

Excellent service, friendly staff, so much fun for the whole family

I can tell you that during the week are the best prices. Weekends are extremely crowded and expect wait times for activities. Prices are what you would expect. We ordered a few pizzas and it was 16.99 for a 16in pizza. The pizzeria has a combo deal with a standard pizza with 4 soft drinks from the fountain station for about $27. Which is the most reasonable family deal they had on food and drinks. Gravity robes, arcade, Lazer tag and bowling. Fun family place!

I got to bring a rather large group of students, and I can honestly say this has been the best experience for both students and staff. All employees were courteous and very accommodating to all of our kiddos. This by far has been the best experience at an outing they've had the whole year want to give a special shout out Peter, Jose, and Hannah for their outstanding customer service and attention they gave our group. Thank you and we can't wait to be back!!!

For been our first time having a partying at this place, it was an amazing experience, highly recommended especially having the party hosted by Drew De La Cruz, he is very attentive and giving thorough explanation of the party details along with his work mates Hanna, Zuriel and Willie. Awesome job guys!

Had a great time all the staff is super helpful definitely recommend

Atmosphere was great! Food is good and hot! Service could be a whole lot better had a server tonight who walked and turned her back while I was still talking. The bus boy had to give me plates! Being a server for 9 years i was like these kids don't have it half as bad lol walked up after placing a reservation and they said that he didn't even look at the online reservations. I was like then what's the purpose. They need a customer service reset.

Excellent place to enjoy and have fun with all the family ?? highly recommended ?? ??

So much fun nice atmosphere. Always order the pizza and it's always delicious. I love saving some cash and every time I want to visit they have a new deal making me want to go even more. I have so much fun in the laser tag, bowling, and arcade with new games.

We had much fun. Good drinks very nice service. It can get a bit expensive but if you're having fun is worth it.

Had a great time with our Weslaco Women?s Ministry Christmas Fellowship gathering. Great atmosphere, great food and great service. Thank you so much Stephanie Alaniz for being so attentive.

Came with my family. Peter and Aleena were very helpfully and very friendly. Great experience!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
