Lynwood, Illinois 60411
Mr John Peck, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my experience at Lynwood Skate Rink today. I had looked forward to a fun outing with my children for a birthday but unfortunately, the events that transpired left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. When I was asked to place my belongings in a locker, I calmly informed the staff member that I would comply once another adult returned to the table to supervise the children. This was my only interaction with your manager. Yet, others were l
It was great. My family had such a good time. It's bigger even the people More fun, lots of children, and just overall, a family orientated. Scary ring, bring your family out. You'll love it. It was great. I liked it better than Glenwood skating ring
We are attending a private birthday party today. The atmosphere is awesome for the package deal, the food is decent and the place is clean. Strongly recommended.
I visited last week for the skating lessons with my children. I explained it was our first time and I was not given any formal information from the staff on rules/expectations. My 3 year old daughter fell and hurt herself and was crying tears while struggling to get up. I kept waiving to the instructor asking her to bring her to the side. (I didn't have on skates and most rinks don't want shoes on the floor. I also had an infant I was carrying.) I got louder because I assumed the instructor didn't hear me,
Love skating and the rink itself is awesome. However I would never go back the lack of rules, overcrowded and unsupervised children is just awful. Kids skating the wrong direction and those worthless ass scooters really ruin a nice rink. Would say adult nights are better but they suck too, rude management and some of the skaters got race problems. Facts is facts and some ya'll wack.
The sound system is terrible. Can not hear the DJ on the microphone. The music sound muffled. Place is small and tight. Parking lot got holes everywhere. The place needs a make over..
Great vibe! DJ was cool and the facility was managed well. A few more walkers would be nice for the smaller kids. Maybe extend the hours as well. Overall, great experience.
It was great fun for a good price! Great way to exercise and have a change of pace for the family. We will definitely be coming back.
The rink is nice however never have a birthday party there. We were there from 1-4. You couldn't bring balloons in except on the side to sit. Of course there was no room to sit. Although we booked and paid for a party we could only sit back at the table from 3-345pm. Then the young lady who was supposed to be our server with the bad gel and big baby hair had mad attitude. Still trying to understand what we paid 140 for? The place was packed and they had back to back parties. It definitely is abou
So fun to roller skate! They have made a lot of improvements since I was last here. Nice little DJ Booth, nice skate floor, nice benches. Slots upstairs. Only downside was the arcade games needed maintenance. Badly. Snack stand was typical for a roller drink.
We had a great ride) We will definitely come again with the kids)
I am a lover of roller skating. I decided to visit this rink because my daughter had gone on a camp trip here. When I arrived I was very disappointed in the 1st 15 minutes I realize the music was not designed for the activity. After getting my skates on we tried out the floor. They have replace the old blue skating floor with a wooden floor that has several bumps in it. You can feel the connection of the wood pieces under your roller skates, therefore you are not rolling smoothly. I would also like to com
A great place to get out with the family fall, have fun and laugh...it was pretty cool ?? today someone had a birthday and people was everywhere. I really enjoyed the positive vibes and energy. The workers that was supposed to be on the floor was engaged and had just an amazing ?? time as the people who was visiting. Thank you ???? great ppl keep up the good work. It's truly a pleasure to see people get engaged while doing their jobs ????????????????????
I tried to take my teenage daughter skating for her birthday and was told I would need to accompany the teens. After taking them in I was told that teenagers could not enter even if accompanied by an adult ?if they did not have their own skates?. The manager Diane told me that the reason we were let in originally is because her staff is incompetent and confused. Another man came and was told something similar. Diane told him that no one on her staff could remember the rules well enough to elaborate them ove
This place was amazing I went there today and I loved it!
Fun place for a kids bday party or even just to skate. After 4pm I think it is more adult. Only issue is there wasn't any air circulation in there. Other than that, very very fun experience and the dj was FIRE today 9/21/24
There is a really great artistic roller skating club at this rink! They get lots of floor time and the coach is incredible!
I had an adult only private birthday party here and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was very helpful and out the way. They did not bother us, nor complain about anything that we did! They were very lenient on us with our decorations and bringing our own food. The manager /owner was awesome! She exceeded my expectations and I'm more pleased that once our time was up they did not rush us out or give us a hard time. The staff helped set up our decorations and they also cleaned up, thoroughly! The facility
The kids had a great time everyone super friendly definitely do it again oh and the food was great
Had a birthday here and the staff and was so nice and great. They were very helpful, made sure we had everything we needed. They help us set up decorations, and cooked food which was so good. The facility is very clean and organized. They played hip hop music for us and wasn't judge mental . It was very peaceful. The manager went out her way to assist us thanks so much. The skate floor is like new . Great for adult and kids parties . Thanks so much
I went here for a fun day with my parents and the music was so LOUD I had to scream to hear my mom and dad next to me same music over and over
Great facility, spacious, smooth floors. We had to leave after 30 mins because the crowd was extremely rowdy. The staff does not enforce the rules against reckless skaters. They intentionally pushed between us, touching our arms and backs and whipped around way too close. I'm an experienced skater and am used to some amount of rink bullying but this was the worst. The Ref asked me to take off my fanny pack and I lost 2.50 in quarters because all the lockers are broken. I saw many people falling because the
Was invited here for my niece's 8th birthday celebration. This place is too disorganized. Guests can't sit at the tables longer than 15 minutes. There's no place else to go with your food & drinks so you stand in the middle of nowhere looking stupid until the party table is ready for the birthday child. After that it's rush rush rush!! You have 45 minutes at the party table to serve the kids food, eat, drink, sing happy birthday, cut & eat the cake, and open gifts. Yes they will rush the heck out of you too
It was my time here & i really enjoyed myself nice place, clean, I loved the music the dj was playing & i will definitely be looking forward to coming back
This place is absolutely amazing! One of the better skating rinks on the south suburban side. It meets the needs of children and adults! I hosted my son's birthday party here at the end of October! We had such a great time!! One of the lady gave me such a hard time, but the owner made up for that. Their pizza is good, just don't let to much time go pass before eating it, otherwise it won't be as good. I love how they allowed the children to come in their costumes, even though we do not celebrate Halloween,
No complaints except bathrooms need an update, it gets hot and you need quarters for lockers. Bring cash and quarters if you can, but otherwise they can make change there. Kids had a great time! I probably had a better time lol. Parking lot gets crowded but overall fun and memorable! Also appreciate they have updates on their website for schedules and contact.
I do not recommend, I came today on my daughter?s 11th birthday and have been coming for years? last time? My oldest comes a lot with friends.. I'm telling her not to after today.. the lady at the window. was rude unwelcoming and they are false advertising the ?family night? deal? I only received 3 skate rentals but it comes with 4 my daughter wanted a walker and they charge so when I asked for my other rental she refused claimed to be the manager? why not give me what I paid for? never again and I'm puttin
The only way I can get a hold of him is to ask for a refund
I thoroughly enjoyed the skating experience there!
We just had my son's birthday party there last night. We loved it! There were 2 issues that I had. 1. We rented the entire place out so I was under the assumption we can go anywhere because that's what I was told when booking it. However there was a whole section of booths we weren't able to use. They did say if we did have enough people we would be able to use it so I was somewhat okay with that. 2. They gave me a list to fill out so we can request certain songs be played. I filled it out with all my son's
First time in this establishment for my granddaughter's birthday. I had a wonderful time, nice atmosphere, a few of of the young ladies at the food counter didn't have the best attitudes towards the customers purchasing food as well as assisting in the party area. Needless to say I will return and recommend to friends.
I threw my son a birthday party back in July because he watched skater Malik Thomas and like the music of DJ money mike who both promoted the rink in Lynwood, not only did the staff throw our pizza out and we didn't realize that We were not going to be called in early enough to say happy birthday, so our cake melted because they don't have a refrigerator for storing a cake for a short time. Additionally, my son was given a free pass for his birthday, so We came back on a Tuesday for family night for its pe
I love this skating rink it is big and my granddaughter Love's it. The people are cool as well that works here overall is a five star
One of the better looking rinks out there.
I liked the facility and the atmosphere of this place. I did not like the music. I didn't know any of the songs. It was hip hop but very shrill sounding. I would go back but I think I'll need to know what type of music they'll be playing first. The music is loud too. I didn't realize how loud it was until I left and couldn't hear in one ear. My ear is better now but maybe they can turn the volume down a notch. I recommend this place. It is family friendly and, despite the shrill music that was played, I wou
My kids love this place! The instructors for the skating lessons are very attentive and inclusive. Non skaters get as much attention as novices. They are encouraging and there is plenty of staff to help the non skaters off the floor ??. It gets pretty crowded in here, I suppose that's a testament to a job well done. The music is good and I appreciate good music that do not contain inappropriate language. It is reasonably priced and the floor is well kept. The only correction i would suggest is that the st
The staff is great. Professional, friendly and attentive. The check in person, birthday host was phenomenal and Bryanna (who I did the birthday contract with). The host was great about giving reminders for your time in the party area. They kept me on track as many know having a kid party can be overwhelming. The only reason why they did not get a 5 star was because it was EXTREMELY hot in there. I could not believe the AC was truly on. On top of that the ice machine was broken so are drinks were not cold m
I gave it a one star because that was the lowest I can give. We went there for my niece bday party and the service was bad. Nit professional at all. For one her party started at 2pm and then we got 1:30pm wasn't let in until 1:45pm and then they wanted us to eat and sing happy birthday at 2on the head. Didn't give us time to set up the table or nothing. Then they give you 45min for a party. Then they give you 15 min at another table to eat when you have kids and a party everyone knows you need more you n
They need to enforce their safety rules. People are reckless on the floor. And it tends to get over crowed on the rink. However, I'm glad they are one in a few rinks that are still open in the area, so when I do get an itch to throw on my skates I can go for a bit. Also they should change up the music a little too. Ya know play a variety of music. To much of the same genre is boring. I brought my headphones last time. It's worked out. Other than that the facility is decent. Oh, they have great pizza. love t
Went to the 1-4 session and the DJ was terrible today. There was no variety in the music he was playing. He Played one boring song after the other. Then proceeded to play slow songs when it was mainly kids there. This was the first time I went skating and was bored to tears. I ended up leaving early which very seldom happens. Please hire a DJ that can play a variety of music that caters to both new and ol skool.
Awesome Deal!! Attended Tuesday Family Night with my 4 children over Christmas Break....$6/each includes entrance, skate rental, pizza and a drink! Wonderful customer service even with a large crowd...Floor was nice and large....Staff was exceptional! I've attended other skating rinks that I would never return to for poor service....this one, we'll be back!!
Clean! Great party hosting!. Sammy, Shannon, Deja, and the guy working the shoe rental and floor were all awesome. Very friendly and they were readily available when you needed them. Definitely recommend.
I purchased a birthday party package. Only thing was we didn't have no designated space for us to actually set up her birthday decorates or no where to sit. I had my elderly grandmother along with other older family members that attended the party. When I tired to set up in the food court area I was told that I couldn't do that and I will be forced to leave or the police will be called. I would never return to this facility.
Ok!!!! Where do I start? I booked a Birthday party for my granddaughter 4/3/21. Was told to be there by 12:30 the party was for 1:00. They said I couldn't set up until 1:50 your guest only had 45 minutes to chug down pizza, cupcakes , drinks before they throw you out the area for the next party coming in. Then I left three bags on the bench which the terrible hostess we had moved .now my granddaughter?s glasses are gone. Not to mention she lied about how many wrist bands were used with my guest. So Never go
They need a ton of work done and improvement in exchanges in pleasantries among their employees. Companies used to encourage smiling faces positive energies and happy service. The young kids they have aren't all that welcoming. Could definitely use a small business loan to purchase new equipment and a face lift. Otherwise nice place for having something local and close by to do.
In any service center, customer service is key. This is something some employees here do not understand. The guy at the skating shoes place is extremelly rude and unhelpful. I do not know why he is there if he is not willing to help. I know the business will not go broke because of me, but I am not coming back to this place.
Came for my niece's birthday party. It was overcrowded, like 7-8 birthday parties booked in the same afternoon slot. Barely any space to sit and eat, just no room to move. Then everybody was rushed to leave due to the next time slot parties, was done very disrespectfully. Horrible experience.
The children had an Awesome time! Good friendly service.
Went here for the first time on Tuesday night for the family night. The music was way too loud. I couldn't even talk to my 5 year old daughter without having to scream to be heard. Another customer also went to the DJ booth to complain about how loud the music was and nothing was done. A lot of the kids were walking around with their fingers in their ears because of the music being too loud. It's a roller rink not a night club. Never again will we come to this one. My daughter didn't have a good time.
Fun place for kids and parents. Seemed clean. Only complaint is the vending machine wasn't working, so we couldn't get a drink. The food area wasn't open during the day either.
It use to be very nice until they let that young light skin kid do whatever he wants. Now he just brings all his gang friends doing gang sings right out in the open in front of all the kids including my own. He now only plays one type of music when he's not cutting the music completely off to holler a buddies name over the mic. The place would be great without him and his high school gang. A more mature dj is badly needed
Great time with the kids. The staff was amazing helping because I had not skated in about 20 years. Will be going back soon. Music was great. Going back for family night. Gonna find room for this to be part of our family routine.
Lynwood roller skating rink was a very nice place to have a school skating party. The prices were reasonable and we were still be we were still able to fundraise for our school. The staff was friendly and nice and what stood out to me was the friendly help that the people skating with the kids showed the younger children. They took the time to help them to learn to skate. Great experience overall.
This Place Was So BAD . Moldy HOT DOG BUN BREAD . They Rush You In The Party Area , It's No Point In Even Decorating, It's Only 45 Mins , And No Other Time After ( Was Willing To PAY ) . They Literally OVER BOOK . It Was So Bad . Pizza Has Me And My Family Running Off Currently. Ice Tasted Like CLEANING SUPPLIES. Never Tf Again . PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR PRECIOUS BABIES HERE . The Only Thing That Was Good Was The DOGGY PERFORMANCE.
I had my daughter's birthday party here this past weekend they only give you the rules as they go they do not tell you once you walk in the door everything that you can and cannot do they actually rushed us through the process, and my nephew that came there which is (2 years old) they actually charged him $13 to skate that is truly unbelievable for a child that age I feel at least there should be a different price $13 is just too much I would not recommend this place for a party I would not have another par
The place DEFINITELY NEEDS UPDATES such as bathrooms because all you see is mold, rust and the air conditioning system is a joke . The manager says it's on but EVERYONE is hot and ready to pass out because of the environment, just a lawsuit or worse waiting to happen. Don't come use it's cold out well at least that what one employee says!
The rink was okay. The parking lot had ridiculously large potholes that you have to drive and maneuver through in order to get out of the parking lot. I just feel like a place that's bringing in money should be at least by some rocks to fill the holes until more permanent repairs can be made. I would not want to have an establishment have my customers damaging their cars trying to get out of my parking lot
Just had a birthday party there and would never recommend this place to anyone. They aren't organized at all. It takes forever to get thru the doors because the way it's set up. It was about 6 parties going on at once. So you could just imagine how packed it was. They need to limit the parties per time slots down to 3 maybe wven 4! They had 4 different parties in the same Party room eating and singing happy birthday together which sounds like a good way to them As a business but annoying to us customers. W
My baby had her friends come here last week for her birthday. They enjoyed themselves until one feel and hurt herself. The medic came and said" I assure you nothing is broken, I'm a biology major so I would know." Unfortunately she was wrong. Not their fault but the little girl broke her leg. Would have been better if they let us use their wheelchair or maybe call an ambulance. My husband and his friends had to carry her because they wanted her to try before offering a chair. I guess based on the medi
The music was all the same. There is absolutely no diversity in their music what so ever! NONE!!!! The sound system is horrible they only have a few speakers in the center of the rink. So to try to make it sound good I guess they turn it up too loud (so loud it hurt my kids and my left ears from skating around the speakers in the center). A couple songs had some pretty near inappropriate lyrics for the age of the crowd (young children Sunday skate 2:00 to 5:00). Drinks were very small as well an extra larg
This place is outstanding. These places from times are few and far between. It is clean kept up you can rent or bring your own stuff the music and everything is great. They have basic food. Its hard to find anything on the Southside family oriented anymore. You can't even find a bowling alley hardly. This helps to keep the kids off video games and do sociable stuff. You can also fo birthday parties hdrr.
You can't hear what the DJ saying, sound system needs some work. Liked the trainers and the glow lights. Good concession prices
Clean location, well-maintained flooring, and good music selection (especially since another local Skating Rink recently closed). The snack bar is a generous size with ample seating for a large group. They also have Free Skate sessions in the Summer on Tuesday afternoons for kids aged 14 and under. BUT, the air conditioning needs updating or repair!!! When I say HOT, I mean hotter than outside-- sweating when sitting still HOT!
1st time being here. Food was really bad and expensive! Other than that it was fine. Crowded but that's the way I like it. Good prices, $8 admission, $2 rentals.
DANGEROUS!!! they have a policy where beginner skaters need to be on the INSIDE portion of the rink and not on the outside, which creates an extremely dangerous situation. not only are they not allowed to use the walls, but to get off the rink they have to weave their way through fast moving crowds trying to not get hit. not a good idea, beginners belong on the outside and people doing tricks belong on the inside where they can use the open space in the center. i have NEVER seen any rink do this. i?m an ex
I had an event on 12/19/21. The entire staff was very polite and respectful. You don't see that to much in young men. Overall it was wonderful.
Its very, very, nice!! Im so happy we have a rink to go to. Amazing workers, and managers. We need to do everything in the world to support them and keep them going!! Its in a good spot. Thanks lynwood your the best!!!
It's a nice place to skate the skill level is from beginner to pro ,they offer skate lessons as well and the day I went the offered free pizza til 10 for a fee I believe $8 . They have a bar upstairs but it only serves beers. There were alot of teenagers here, but it's my first time here, but it was not any silliness.
Lynwood is a nice center where adults and family can have a great time. I especially enjoy Friday night, all adults can enjoy themselves with great music from 9PM to 1AM.
THE MUSIC IS TOOOO LOUD!!THE MUSIC IS TOOOO LOUD!!THE MUSIC IS TOOOO LOUD!!THE MUSIC IS TOOOO LOUD!!THE MUSIC IS TOOOO LOUD!! I wanted to ask could they turn it down 6 times. It shouldn't be so loud I couldn't hear myself think which is horrible. I left the rink with a headache and PLEASE FIX THE AIR CONDITIONER it's super hot I was sweating. It was only one part of the place that had the air coming out and it was crowded by people. The pizza taste like cardboard box with topping but other than that I love
This place communication is absolutely horrible, I've been trying to reach someone to do a birthday here for a month and a half, I do not stay in Chicago and this place was recommended but no one ever calls back and I've called over 6 times and just got they answering service. The answering service is pleasant but I need results plus customer service
I like this place. This is a real roller rink. The staff are kind and have patience. The cleanliness is on point. The food is good. The music is great and the prices is good. Looking forward to coming back
Great experience. Nice music, clean, and efficient staff.
One thing is for certain rules are made up as you go alone. Prob need to invest in real security ie Lynwood Police to alleviate the need for parents to baby sit their paying Kids. I was very disappointed being told If you have skates you don't need an adult, but if you rent skates they do. Please explain the LOGic behind these RULES. The PANDEMIC is over. Hold Kids Accountable if they act up. Lost 5 paying kids the other night behind Archaic Rules. Furthermore, train your employees b/c customer service is
My first time visiting and not enough supervisor for the little ones, skaters going to fast only 1 staff on the floor, he wasn't blowing his whistle when a young one fell several close calls with my grand daughter who was 6. Love the music but please think about having 1 more on the floor then the little did not time for them without the fast skaters
I love it there.i would give it a 5 star but theirs alot of little kids that be there that you gotta skate around.but if you like to dance and see others dance than this is the place for you.the deejay doesn't skip a beat.shot out to money mike
I'm originally from the NW Indiana, and used to skate and work at Roller Dome. Moved out of the area in 1994. Whenever I come home, I skate this rink. LOVE it. Floor is nice, management and workers are nice, and the people are nice. Always enjoy skating here when I come home to visit my family!
The skate rink is good, the new floor is nice my son says, just have issues with the Staff and Manager SUCKS, the girl that works the front window when the machines takes your money and he went to tell her to get his money back she has a foul mouth cursing at him. You never curse at a customer especially a child and then when fronting manager she basically called us a lier. So do not let your children go alone.
Location is great but the thing I don't like is ! That I signed my children up for skating lessons. That is suppose to go from 11:30 to 12:30 . There isn't anyone on the floor teaching anything until 12pm . That's ridiculous I brought I'll bring them here to learn.
Beautiful music Beautiful place Beautiful people. I suggest you bring your own skates because the rental skates aren't that good. Overall Great experience
We traveled from Zanesville, OH (about 6 or so hours) to visit this rink. My family owns a roller rink, and we were interested in this one due to the "roll bounce" use. Upon arrival, we paid $37 for the 5 of us. We received tickets and entered. When we entered, a second employee, apart from the one who sold the tickets, took the tickets and we sat down to put on our skates, since we all had our own. After a few times around the floor, a woman who we had not yet seen came out to let us know that my boyfriend
Had a great time skating here. Saturday night skate sessions are jump?n. The floor is smooth, music is good (live DJ), and the overall experience is nice. Kids had a great time. I will definitely be going back.
The D.J. that has taken D.J. Money Mike's place for the afternoon sessions is a TERRIBLE replacement! He plays inappropriate rap songs during the entire FAMILY skate sessions. He has no clue how to cater to the crowd, especially when adults are present!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, bring D.J. Money Mike back for at least a couple of the afternoon family skate sessions. He played a variety of music (J.B's, R&B, etc.) for all persons in attendance to enjoy.
This place was awesome. Very diverse crowd as well as staff. Everyone seemed pleasant and enjoyed what they do. Will be taking skating lessons here in the near future.
Food court needs help. Workers served burnt food...tasteless hot dogs...burnt and icee no flavor...it needs help. Was a concession stand manager before...so I know. Otherwise great facility..clean..and inviting..
Went to s fundraiser , too many kids Music was for kids. I thought it was an adult affair. Don't get me wrong it's a nice rink. I just wont be during anymore fundraiser.
I gave this place only 2 stars. You need to update your skating schedule. To many kids on a Sunday afternoon 2--5 session..Be more clear on your skating schedule..
Good place, just always packed not enough room to skate. They need better help on the floor. The people designated to help kids if they fall or whatever were skating right past fallen kids.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
