Very charming spot for fellow gamers/nerds! Staff were extremely kind (HUGE thank you to the bartender for getting a picture with my travel buddy ????), drinks were great + humorously named, service was quick, and the game variety was nice. This was my first time coming here and they were very generous with the amount of tokens they gave, which made this spot even better. 10/10, ABSOLUTELY coming back again!!

EDIT to my previous review. Have been coming here for 6 years. One of my all-time favorite places. I originally left a poor review as I was double charged by their system to which I thought I was being taken advantage of. Apparently, as the owner stated below, this is part of their PoS system which holds a temporary charge on your account close to your total. So, be prepared for having some of your money locked up for up to 5 business days. This alarmed me and I apologize for the confusion this caused r

So fun - love all the Mario and other classic game themes and decor. The food was excellent we had the potato wedges and dip trio, and then a burger, a brat, and the pulled pork sandwich. The staff is super friendly and the pours were generous. So many classic arcade games, with different consoles and board games also throughout! I got to rock out at Guitar Hero and bring back awesome memories. Also the milkshake was TOP NOTCH!

They catered for the Grand Rapids Comic-Con and the food was incredible! I'm sad because I don't see what was catered in on the menu! It was a cilantro white rice, peanut curry vegetables and a chickpea salad. That peanut curry vegetables was absolutely delicious ?? and I was hoping I could go to this establishment to buy it again! Edit to add I will definitely give them a visit because their regular menu looks wonderful!

We're from out of town and stopped by LFG Gaming Bar with a large group?about 20 of us?and had a great experience! There was plenty of room for everyone, and the vibe was super chill, like hanging out at a friend?s house. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our food came out hot and didn't take long at all. I had the burger with garlic aioli (so good!) and the Q*Bert mocktail?delicious! We won't be back only because we're not local, but if you're in the area, we highly recommend checking this place ou

Just tried out LFG for a double date and it was a good time. The whole bar is reminiscent of a more intimate Dave and Busters without the corporation vibes or intimidating atmosphere of a giant building. Our group only had appetizers and some drinks. I had the Cajun Mozzarella Sticks and Luigi?s Sex Life. Once again, a tropical blue drink, exactly what I wanted. The bartender was fast, friendly, and very funny. He was super nice when my partner and i had mentioned it was our first time there. I tried one of

I have been waiting to visit LFG since it opened, I've had plenty of time but could not afford to go. My family went last week and it was one of the most disappointing visits to any restaurant I've experienced. Most games were broken or off. The entire place had dismal vibes, everything looked grimy & sticky to the touch. We waited for over an hour for food, which was wild bc the place was absolutely DEAD inside and the kitchen had been open for over an hour. I tried to order a second beer while I waited fo

Really fun must try experience! My husband LOVED all the retro arcade games. Staff is amazing and atmosphere was fun. Kids are welcome before 9pm and they do various fun events and gaming leagues during the week. Tokens are quite affordable and they also have free gaming consoles and board games. Only downsides were it's not a huge space and can get very crowded and crazy at times. Food was cheap but could have been better. Overall highly recommend- great addition to downtown Kalamazoo!

LFG is fantastic, as always. Amy and her bartenders are always a treat to talk to, and her food is to die for. The chocobo wings (with the Korean bbq) are hands down the best wings in town, and I regularly go there to get them for dinner. I branched out this last visit and got their giant soft pretzel (which they now get from the local bakery), and that paired with the honey mustard and beer cheese... Fantastic. Support these guys at all costs, Kalamazoo needs these hangout spots.

We enjoyed our time at LFG Gaming Bar It was a trip through a nostalgic Wonder Land ?????????? They had vintage to new age Gaming Consoles. From your Simpsons Arcade to your X-Mens Unite?????? It brought back great Memories of what was... But keeps me thinking that we can always come back and enjoy the good time always at LFG Gaming Bar. The Food was very much on point and great portions for such a great Price! Food was Taste and worth the price. I give it a?? 5?? out of 5???? Drinks were well prepare

With the new layout, hanging out with friends and enjoying free events like bar trivia is amazing. We go every last Sunday for cosplayer discounts and trivia.

Maybe about 25% of the games are broken or missing the 2nd player option. Really cool place though. My orange pop float was delicious but my wife's chili cheese fries were a soggy mess. Inedible... Onion rings and fried pickles were pretty good as well. Cool place worth checking out. The kids definitely wanna go back just for dance dance revolution ??

Place is amazing. Food was incredible. First time in Kalamazoo and I'll definitely be back just for the food. The video game setup was super fun.

That when I came now they only have one person at checkout and we had to wait for a little bit but as a fun activity place if you like games kids are allowed to go also wish I did not go no up to 9:00 I believe

Nice arcade bar , we got free tokens with our food. They have a get what you get shot at the bar with a dice tower. The fried pickles were amazing!!

The food is good and the last time I was here I had the burger. The games are fun and i would recommend ddr. but I wish they still had Scott's tots

AMAZING! Amy, the bartender is the best! She makes the best drinks & so sweet. She is authentic & a fun personality. She is so welcoming. My son had the best birthday today at LFG. He loved playing Donkey Kong! He loved Mario. So many nostalgic games. Great atmosphere. They put up so many fun Halloween decorations. They have the best bathrooms where someone painted Mario Brothers theme in them. Great place. You have to go.

Great food and drink with an abundance of games and consoles to have fun with! A gamers paradise!

Great atmosphere and great selection of games & cabinets. Drinks & food are delicious. I had the wings and they are amazing. Staff is super chill and friendly and the patrons are fun.

Great place! Food was on point and bunch of games to choose from! Pokemon playing on tvs. A geek like mes heaven

Fun concept, we need more bars like this in other cities. Food and drinks were great, games were even better. They have rules but easy to follow. Staff is friendly and it is a fun place to hang with a group. The theme is even in their menu.

Creative, inventive experience for adults and children; definitely worth the visit into downtown. Thanks for an awesome experience, fine-tune this place and in short time it'll be a downtown staple.

A fun place to feel like a kid again. But they do not carry major brand beers. Only expect local brewery?s and different seltzers. The food was decent but the main idea here is to take you back to the good ol arcade days. I tried the chili as pictured and enjoyed the fact that they also included a hush puppy.

I've been here a couple times the past week and all I can say about this place is good praise and how amazingly fun it is. From the food to the arcade machines it is an absolute blast if you just want to come here to chill out or just play around with your friends. The only complaint (as to why the 4 stars) is to how some of the controllers (like the guitar hero ones) are sticky and can barely function like that, making some games nearly unplayable in groups. Other than that it's amazing and should def chec

So I've seen this new place around downtown Kalamazoo and we finally decided to come here and try it. We went here tonight it and it was fun! This place has a lot of classic video game machines with some video game stations as well! The first game I tried was mortal kombat at the sega genesis game station, next I played the arcade driving game, I played the Simpsons arcade game next, I also played the GameCube version of Mario kart, some game at the Ps1 station and some other games. This place had a pretty

My favorite downtown kzoo bar! Some new arcades have been added, specialty drinks are worth the money, food is great! Great retro Barcade.

Came for the LOTR themed dinner, had an amazing time. Lovely staff and ownership, can't wait to come back!

Great time! So many retro throw back games. The rules are great to ensure you get to try all the games. Love it!

I recently planned a small team building event for my job and LFG turned out to be the PERFECT place! The price for a private party is very reasonable, the food options are plentiful (and delicious!) and everyone in ensured to have an amazing time. Rick took great care of us. He was kind, personable and professional, and kept everything running smoothly. My team had a blast, and yours will, too!

Loved it! So fun and food was really good! Was my first time and am definitely going back.

This is a very fun place! The drinks and food have fun, video-game themed names, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The console games are free to play, and the arcade games you play with tokens you are given whenever your order food/drinks.

This place is awesome. Great food and the old school games are sooooo much fun. Very fun day with the family.

Delicious food, great games, amazing bartenders that are SO HELPFUL! If you want the best in Kalamazoo, come here!

I hosted a graduation party here in June 2024. They were closed to the public for my event. The food is high quality and Amy was so easy to work with. Kids and adults had a wonderful experience. Will absolutely host another event here. So happy with our experience. Thank you again!

Have different events happening on different nights, unique drinks and names for drinks as well as food menu. Can play old time games. Definitely would recommend a go at this fine establishment

We came while visiting for the day as we've never been to Kzoo and this bar was recommended. We came at opening time and it was great. Not a lot of people, and the bartender at the time was super kind and nice. We had some food and drinks and the fallout cookies shot was probably the best out of every bar we visited as we bar hopped for the evening. We decided to stay at a nearby hotel and I wanted to go back and it was 100% different. I went to the bar and there was 2 different bartenders this time. The f

Every experience here is a good one. It's hands down my favorite bar to go to. Every worker has been kind and made it a fun, safe environment. I'll continue to come here for as long as possible.

Awesome experience! Visiting Kalamazoo from out of town and stopped in taking an evening stroll. Great service from our bartender Jason, and the rest of the crew. No beer on tap, but excellent selection of local canned craft brews and more. Fair prices, vast selection of typical pub fare food wise, and lots of game themed names to boot. Even better selection of retro games and consoles! Awesome atmosphere and vibe, fellow nerds, bring your friends for a good time! Will recommend whole heartedly. I had 4 or

One of the coolest experiences in Kalamazoo. Good food and drinks. Unlimited game counsel play plus tokens whenever you buy food and drinks. Great time out and nastalogic for those who grew up with video games.

It would be 5 star if they cleaned their bathrooms everything else is amazing

Neat little arcade / classic council bar. No taps sadly. Played DDR there for the first time though!

A pretty cool place with a friendly staff and extremely fun & relaxed vibe. Old school arcade games and game consoles everywhere and free. Good food with unique names...Just a Fun Spot.

This was my first time here and this place was really cool. Just a nice chill, do your own thing atmosphere. Bar tender was awesome, helped us with what to pick with food and drinks. We had a blast playing older games. Wasn't too crowded or noisy. Definitely just rjw perfect place to have a nice night out with the BF, hubs, or friend if you are looking to relax, drink, eat and play some games.

I really enjoy the variety of games, they have something for everyone. Buy food and drinks to get tokens plus enjoy fun time with the kiddos till 8pm then or after adults only

Such a fun spot! This is my second time here and it's such a fun, small spot to hang out and grab a few drinks, shots, and snacks. The Cajun mozz sticks are so good- to the point I've been craving them for months since the last time I've came here! The crowd is a mix of all ages and super comfortable. Tonight I actually had the chance to meet the owner and her mother and when I tell you they are beyond sweet, I really mean it. We tried the Cajun mozz sticks, the jalape?o and beer cheese tots, and a burger t

We are from out of town, but every time we come in from Chicago, we come here and it's always awesome! Wonderful inclusive space and super friendly bar staff! Jason was our bartender and he was awesome! There were a lot of people here when we arrived and he was made sure he said hi to regulars as he cranked out drinks, and made us feel really welcome! We will always come back when we're in town! ??

Loved the food. Had a hedgehog chili dog and knuckles jalapeno poppers. Both delicious. Games are a bit repetitive with lots of fighting games and a few racing games and the occasional music based game. Would go back for the food, and the free console games, but not the quarter based play.

If you're looking for something different than all the other bars this is the perfect place. As you enter you'll immediately notice that you're surrounded by old school arcade machines. Most of which you'll immediately recognize such as Tetris, Mario, DDR, donkey Kong and so many more. As you approach the bar you'll notice that their menu is not enormous but covers a wide range of different drink options from shots to beers as well as different food options. With each order of any drink or food option you w

It's a great place to enjoy drinks and play games with friends, and the shot where you roll a d20 to determine what you get is a fun gamble where I can confirm you can roll as low as a 3 and still get a good drink.

Went for our 1st time tonight and we enjoyed it. We loved the environment and the drinks were awesome. The plumber juice was great and he enjoyed the blood of kratos. The bartenders were nice and even though we didn't stay long enough to eat the food looked delicious can't wait to try it when we come back again.

Great for playing games with friends but not a great place to get drunk, the drinks are very watered down and sugary, AND EXPENSIVE. they are catered to trendy hipsters who dont like to get drunk. dont go here to get drunk. But do go here if you want to play mortal kombat or guitar hero with the gang.

Great food and games. Got a little crowded and it was hard to get around people standing and watching DDR. Also, one concern with the menu not listing cheese (an allergen) on the Wraps on the menu. Watching a lactose intolerant friend pick shredded cheese out of a grilled wrap was kind of painful (though he could have sent it back). Otherwise, menu is well marked for gluten free and vegan. (I also apologize for forgetting to close my tab before I left, hopefully you put a good tip on my card you scanned)

Wow the nostalgia here is astronomical old games like pacman Gallaga tekken1 the 1st cubert and other games that you love if you're around my age it's great atmosphere the only reason that I Gave them 4 stars is because the food is horrible But it's a bar So who can even remember what the food tastes like great place beautiful inside great location.

I love going here, it's so much fun and the drinks here are good and have fun names. The milkshakes are also good. They have so many fun games, my favorites are the Jurassic park game and DDR (Dance Dance Revelation). It does get kinda crowded, especially on weekends, but it's still a fun place

Such a cool place. Def will return.

Patrick helped us when we first arrived, and again when we wanted to play a game that needed attention. Great job giving non alcoholic drink options and a totally awesome experience overall. Console games and arcade mix. We had a blast. Thanks to Amy for really putting in some care to their place.

To be forthright - I haven't even experienced the gaming portion of this place which is always busy and looks like a blast. I usually do take out on the food side of things. I will say that they have some of the BEST food in Kalamazoo. I have also attended 2 of the dinner events. Again, the food is some of the best. It's quality and you can tell thought is put into the pairings. The jalape?o poppers with raspberry sauce? Get out of here - so good and I would have never even thought. Korean bbq wings tastes

The drinks are very creative and the console games are always free. Great place to bring a small group and relax. Price is alittle higher, but the quality definitely matches the price. Great staff and always welcoming environment. Free coins for arcade games with your food or drink purchase.

Food is pretty good and drinks are awesome but the best part is the staff. The bartenders really know what they are doing and give awesome suggestions! I absolutely love the games and events there.

Cool place, love the ambiance. Specifically asked the bartender how they make their margaritas and was so happy to hear that don't use sour mix! Only to order 5 margs for the table that showed up tasting like artificial garbage because they had sour mix in them. Otherwise, I'd say the bartenders were good and also fast.

Me and my friends come here pretty often and we are never disappointed. The food and drinks are always good. The games are always fun and the environment is always enjoyable. My only suggestion is I wish they had music. I think maybe they don't because of all the noise of the games, but I think some light music over speakers, at least outside would really add to the experience. But really, one of my favorite places to have some food and a drink in Kalamazoo. Highly recommend for anyone Edit: They fixed the

I wanted to like this place a lot but I couldn't. It's a very small area to get around so you'll have to walk around people a lot. The food was bland and is only enjoyable when drowned with sauce. Never received tokens for the food bought. I have never walked out of a restaurant with such a bad experience before.

Drinks are great and food is solid. They actually toast the bun on the burger! The games are a nice form of entertainment for a first date or for a retro gaming friend group. The atmosphere is pleasant and much more relaxed than your typical college "bro" bar. Word to management: The most important thing to remember is that you have a great thing going, keep the drink and food standards high and you won't ever run out of customers!

LFG Gaming Bar was a total blast. The gaming-themed decor was awesome, immersing us in a vibrant atmosphere. They've got a solid selection of classic arcade games like DDR, Jurassic Park, and Cruisin' ? a real nostalgia trip. What stood out was the range of gaming consoles available to play. From retro to modern, they had nearly every console covered, catering to every type of gamer. Their clever token system tied to drink purchases added an extra layer of fun, making sure we were thoroughly entertained.

I worked with LFG before they launched and was blown away with how fresh and well thought out the concept was. When they finally opened, I made sure to swing through, eat some fantastic rice balls, and play a ton of arcade games that I've never even seen before. They have a great selection of games, a tasty and affordable menu, and all of the drinks look really fun and interesting. Great for people of all ages, family friendly too! Always a welcoming atmosphere.

LOVE this place! It was date night for my bf and I, we chose LFG because of their creative "restaurant week " menu. We were NOT disappointed with our experience. The bartenders were AMAZING people that we are looking forward to seeing again. The event menu got our attention, the amazing atmosphere, staff, food and drinks kept us there! The games are classic and appreciated, not your typical "shout for conversation "place.! 10/10 will recommend and return again soon!

A great arcade bar to hang out with friends! I definitely recommend if you are not into the clubbing atmosphere. The drinks are always good and the service even better! 11/10 would visit again.

This is such a cool concept, and I love the theme. All the drinks and food are really cool and themed, which makes it really fun. Prices are decent for being a place that's themed and the food was pretty good. I really like how they change up the games available every day. Service was pretty fast too. My only complaint is I wish they had beers on tap instead of just cans.

Came here over the weekend. This place is awesome! It lives up to the hype! The only bar I know of where you can enjoy a good drink or food while gaming. Didn't try the food since I already ate, but I tried the Luigi's Man Cave drink, and it was quite good. Very pretty too, it was green. I will definitely be back! It was fun playing Galaga and other classic arcade games for old time sake.

Love, love, love this place. Between the nostalgia, the crew that works here, and drink specials, it's amazing. Highly recommend.

LFG is a fantastic bar, and during the day is very family friendly. It's easily my favorite place in kalamazoo -- great staff, great menu, great crowd. I'm so glad to see it taking off and really growing in popularity.

Celebrated my birthday here and had the best time! Staff took great care of our large group. The drinks..amazing! We ordered every appetizer they had to offer and was very satisfied. Would suggest this place to anyone and everyone. Will for sure be back!

Always a pleasant and energetic atmosphere. Games galore, a place where your whole family will enjoy...young and old! Fabulous food and a great place to meet new people. If you haven't had an LFG experience, you are definitely missing out!

We attended the camp wine dinner event. It was quite literally one of the best meals I have had as long as I can remember. The food was incredible. The staff and cooks were fantastic, the environment was welcoming and fun and the food and drink was phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Good food. LOTS of video games available. Wish I could park for longer than 1 1/2 hours.

This place is awesome! Awesome arcade machines, you get tokens for every purchase of food or drink, greats selection of consoles, they even have guitar hero, and delectable food and drinks as well! The staff are friendly and personable! Amy, the owner, is very present as well! Great place for kids, 21 & up after 9 though. I recommend this place for birthdays, group outings or just a chill weekday after work relaxation! (They are closed Tuesdays)

So many different games you can play with friends or by yourself. There pizza and drink choices were amazing! Would definitely go back again.

LFG was great. Good atmosphere, drinks, games, and friendly staff. However, they only give you four coins when you order something, and most of the games cost two coins. I believe you can buy coins separately, but it would be nice to get a few more coins with a $5 beer.

The food smell was so strong that it was nauseating. The bartenders were friendly and it was nice to have such a wide variety of games to play. One of the guests who claimed to be a regular because of the DDR machine wouldn't let any of 2 play, he told us that we could play against him because he kept winning. It was a fun place to go but only once.

We loved the old-school video games! Getting tokens when purchasing food was a great idea!

Really enjoyed the place! Felt like I was a kid again! Also the drinks were great!!

Fantastic place to hang out with friends, grab a bite to eat and play some games. The food is delicious and of a hearty portion and the drinks are reasonably priced. There are plenty of games for everyone to enjoy. You have your standard, token taking, arcade cabinets. You can buy tokens, but you also get some with your purchases. They also have a few free to play games as well; a few board games and consoles ranging from classics like the Sega Genesis to modern consoles like the Xbox one. It can get a b

An altogether unremarkable experience. About the establishment, I remain un-wowed. What really galled me is that they charged me twice for my meal and it took them and my bank nearly a week to resolve it. Utterly disappointing and disruptive to those with budgets.

Great selection of games, you get around 4-5 tokens to play per drink purchased. The bartenders looked like they were having fun which created a great vibe. Most machines were in service. Overall would recommend visiting

Such a cool bar! Service and food were great. I would recommend the Mario Tart drink, so delicious. They had galaga, which is one of my favorite games. The decor is so fitting, even to coins you use to play the arcade games. Will for sure be back!!

Games were awesome and well priced with their tokens. Canned beer option only, but wide selection. Food was pretty good - but we only got a tiny amount of fries with our $12 chili dog. If they switched to an actual server service as opposed to bar only order, it may go more smoothly for staff. Great addition to Kalamazoo!

I really like coming to LFG for a retro gaming experience while I'm drinking! They have everything from Mario Kart on Gamecube to Jurassic World. The bar is really creative with their own drinks, and gives tokens for games with each purchase. Overall great establishment, other than them over checking my ID for ten minutes

We felt very welcome at LFG, had a great time trying out the different games to play. Some were free and some took coins that were given for free with my drinks. I appreciate the open atmosphere. There are multiple consoles and arcade cabinets throughout the restaurant and service was at the bar, so I could roam around to try different games and not be completely anchored to any one table or area. Just a cool spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are rhythm games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, rhythm games in arcades are a vibrant hit in 2025! Titles like Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania deliver high-energy fun, blending music, movement, and precision. Modern machines boast vivid displays, booming sound systems, and diverse song libraries, from J-pop to EDM. They challenge reflexes and rhythm, with competitive leaderboards and tournaments fostering a lively community. Arcade dance floors are regularly packed, proving rhythm games’ immersive, physical thrill keeps them a standout in today’s gaming scene.
