Level Up Arcade Bar

Level Up Arcade Bar

Reviews Summary

The reviews show a mixed consensus: many praise the fun atmosphere, classic arcade games, and friendly staff, particularly for family outings. However, complaints highlight overpriced drinks, malfunctioning games, poor management, and inconsistent service. Some appreciate the nostalgic vibe, while others criticize maintenance issues and unwelcoming experiences. Customer Reviews

My husband ordered a Modelo, but it tasted skunky, and his double shot of Crown Apple along with a mixed drink (Wonder Woman) came to $32. The bartenders were very friendly and patient while we browsed the drink menu. I noticed there were quite a few kids around when we visited at 9 PM. The games were a bit underwhelming, and overall, the atmosphere felt off compared to what we remember.

We are gamers so the first opportunity we had to stop in to level up we did. The retro game selection was significant. Our game is space invaders and we were happy to see it there. I loved the theme, there were a lot of small yet creative details that makes the experience of the place special. The drink menu was awesome offering alcoholic and non alcoholic still carrying the gaming theme. There were Air hockey and pool tables. Bank shot seems to be popular for some and level up had three machines available.

This bar was fun. There were many video games from all eras including some more traditional ones like pool and foosball. The drinks were reasonably priced and so were the games but several machines did eat our quarters throughout the night.

If I could leave negative stars I would definitely don't go there if you are part of the LGBTQ they will judge u until u walk out the door

Beyond poor service." Bartenders tend to ignore while they make eye contact.

The service and drinks were fantastic, the only thing I have to say is for an arcade bar I didn't really see many people using the arcade cabinets and when I started to play I realized why. Most of the games cost $0.75 even though those cabinets should be minimum 25 cents and the bigger cabinets cost a complete dollar where at this point they should probably be 50 cents. Would still be able to get the same revenue but would entice players to actually put down more coin for the game especially since a lot of

Super cute! I loved it. Nice bar, good games. Machines were in good repair, only lost a quarter to malfunction, but most of the machines were price set a little higher than the minimums, which wasn't expensive, they definitely aren't price gouging you, but I have been to similar themed bars that had the machines turned down a little bit more which I appreciated. Way better than Dave & Buster's in my book, I'd go back again anytime I'm in town.

It was going great until I ordered a margarita and found they charged more than the special advertised. When asked the manager looked up from her phone in the corner and said the top shelf was extra, I didnt know what I was getting until I got it. She did say it was her fault for not telling the new girl and when I wasnt happy with this she said I can go somewhere else. This same manager that picked up my boy friends drink when he wasnt finished and there were unfinished drinks left around the floor. This l

Hardly go here bc all the games are usually out of order but tried to catch a quick date w hubby. Hours on door and Google say it opens at 7pm. Waiting outside at 7:10pm and still not open. No one will answer the phone to confirm if it's opening.

Good spot for the kids to have some fun. Can't say much about the bar service as we didn't use it. Friendly staff. Please move the pinball machines out from underneath the giant LED TV. The glare makes the pinball very difficult to play. Keep up the good work. It's great having a place like this in Grand Island.

Manager was not pleasant and was more worried about being on her phone than helping do anything for her new gal. We were teaching her how to make drinks instead of her own manager. She was very rude.

Amazing, lots of arcade games aswell as they serve drinks, they have alcoholic drinks aswell as non alcoholic drinks, they have foosball, airhockey, a pool table, they have quarter machines there for you, the games are really good. They have a giant pacman game that's 2 players that you can play. I took my girlfriend there and the two of us had a blast we spent at least a couple hours there. If you are a traveler I would definitely add this place to one of yours stops. A good place to have fun for an hour o

Awesome place with tasty drinks, lots of games, and friendly bar staff. Kids can come until 9ish and they have non alcoholic drinks to cater to them as well. Definitely a new favorite spot in town!

Awesome bar with a great variety of games, most of which $1 and under! They've got a great machine with over 1000 classic arcade games that also projects the screen on the wall.

Not fun for me but the kids liked it. The music that played was some that was just repeating so that was boring. Maybe they should have a couple tables for the parents to sit because not everyone likes to be at the bar.

It's improved. However any place that scanned your ID is a problem. Data leaks and that kinda stuff. If you can't read an ID, maybe learn to. Helluva lot easier to spoof that barcode than the rest of my ID.

Love the atmosphere, great place to take the kids! Some of the games didn't work (inserted coins but couldn't play) not a huge deal though for a blast from the past!

Awesome unique drinks, plenty of classic arcade games, good environment and great staff personality, fun to throw yourself back in the past with a blast

Pool table has a tilt and it's been months. The owners own like 3 businesses on that block, I'm pretty sure they can afford to get a level pool table.

Nice bar but no fighting games or classics. Just really a place to drink! Beercade in omaha & beer cade 2 seems to be the best in Neb!

Cool place, good beer selection, but some features on the pinball machines didn't work and need attention.

Honestly I live this place, it's a nice arcade good place to hangout with a few buddies before going to work Would highly recommend coming here just to play a few games or just to relax and play some pool

This is a great little arcade that Grand Island has. They have a great variety of different games. Only time will tell if they switch the games out to keep them different.

I know it's new, but could use different games, also a beer is a little expensive compared to other places. Cool atmosphere

I had a good time had a few drinks played the awesome games they have there an listened to so music

Was a great experience.... and the bartender was awesome ??

Very cool place. Spent $10 on pin ball machines. A lot of fun. Highly recommend.

What a great place...we lost a lot of quarters to games that were not on or just ate them, but all and all we will come back

Great place, kid friendly. Love their happy hour!!

One of the stalls in didnt have toilet paper. It was extremely thin toilet paper, and it was kinda crowded for people not wearing masks

Good drinks and pretty good variety of arcade games! Try the Oso Michelada if you like Micheladas

The Place make you wonder where does all there money go, the place looks broke and cheap but they charge you like they in the same league as Dave and Buster's

Pretty blonde with the cute piercings was very helpful and very nice ??

Fun time! Lots of games that I remember playing... loved that there was hand sanitizer around. ??

Friendly. Good service from bar. Reasonable game prices.

Good place to play games and drink, the music was just a little loud

Charged me extra drinks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
