We attended my husband?s corporate event at this bowling club with the whole family. While we played bowling, we got each child a $20 game card, and they had fun for an hour on the arcade machines. The pizza and drinks were great. The kids loved it and now want to celebrate their birthday here because they saw the Lazer Tag room. It was the perfect way to spend a rainy evening!
I love this spot. My kids enjoy all the amenities. Lazer tag, glow mini golf, bowling, and of course the arcade. I enjoy the comfortable seating, good drinks, and tasty food. This is one of the staple spots for family friendly fun if you don't wanna drive down the hill.
Oh my goodness, we had the BEST day... bowling, lazer tag, arcade games, & batting cages...not to mention one of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had & a delicious burger & fries dinner. Everything has been recently redone - it looks amazing, so clean, fresh, & welcoming. The staff were a so kind & friendly. I only have good things to say... We all can't wait to come back - especially the kids. ;)
I ordered food $66 in food that I was going to pick up but then my car wouldn't start. I called to cancel the order and they let me know they had door dash, which I was surprised at, delivery in pollock pines isn't usually available. She said she would get her manager to cancel the order if I wanted but then joivially asked my address letting me know she is safe and wasn't going to stalk or beat me up jokingly. I thought it was funny. She was such a peach and drove to my house only, 4 min away, and delivere
We were camping near by, it was a rainy day so we wanted to take our daughter to do something fun!! This place was awesome.. once stop shop. We played mini golf, bowled and played in the arcade had a few cocktails!! Lots of fun for family!! The manager made the best Lemon Drops I have ever had!!! Definitely coming back!!! Amazing customer service!! Everyone was so friendly. That's huge in my book!! We will come back again for sure!!!
Fun but unfortunately they had problems with the arcade card machine. It charged me 40 bucks instead of 23.50 for 20 bucks put on card. But they were helpful with this situation and just said I have to come back in to fix the problem.
Perfect little spot with a lot to do for the whole family without having to empty your wallet like most places. Nightly deals on activities. Plenty of parking. We were the only ones there on a Sunday at 11am since we were leaving the area and didn't wanna miss going so can't speak on much more, staff was nice, place was clean. Peewee golf was small but different and a nice experience, no pars to the holes not that it matters much unless super competitive
We visited today and took our kiddo bowling for her first time. It was a very clean bowling alley - the lanes were nice, seating was nice, the bathrooms were clean, etc. Pretty decent beer selection, and we ordered a flat bread. That took a bit to make but once we did get it, it was really good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also played laser tag - great system there with guns and vests that all worked, a nice length of game time and nice scoring system (I tied in points with my wife but
Food is a Little over priced but it's a great place to have lots of fun with family and perfect location for birthday party's
First time here! Amazingly awesome would love to come here again and enjoy a few games. Lots of different things to do in a small place.
So much fun! Great drinks and decent food. So much to do for all ages!!
Always a great time at knotty pines! Friendly service, full bar, fun arcade, mini golf and laser tag! Food is delicious also
Super cute place and has a ton for everyone. Pool air hockey games bounce bowling prizes. Def a good time
Great place to go if you enjoy bowling or you want to have a cocktail or beer and let the kids play in the huge arcade, I would definitely recommend if your in the area.
One of the best locally owned and operated family fun centers around. The automatic bowling scoring display is easy to understand and the lanes are well maintained. There is a great bar with drinks and eats for all at reasonable prices. The game room has a selection of single and multi player games as well as bounce house and putt putt. Batting cages complete the entertainment offerings. Helpful and friendly staff assure your group will have a fun time.
The building itself is pretty cool. You get what you pay for here but I went with my wife and the guy giving us our bowling shoes, who I've seen before multiple times, was very rude to my wife. I got my shoes and then he told my wife to hurry up and tell him her shoe size. We will be avoiding him IF we decide to go back.
This place has the potential to be outstanding. They have all things to entertain a family or group. However, the staff is very, very disorganized. They're just all over the place, nobody covering one area. There was plenty of staff, and they were quite friendly. Just some organizational training needed to make the place less chaotic. Oh, except some really tall guy working there. Completely rude and obviously didn't want to be there. He should just stay home.
Our go-to place for local family fun. Arcade, bowling, Lazer tag, and a full bar. Up in the bar, there are some legit pin ball machines. The owners recently gave it a face-lift inside, and it looks really nice.
I play in a league here. The prices are very reasonable and the people are friendly. There is a good selection of bowling balls to choose from if you don't have one of your own and they have a special selection of balls for kids and women who need lighter weight balls. The rental shoes are clean and well kept. It is a small bowling alley.
Very kid friendly was a great place for our birthday party
Fun family-friendly place (fun for adults too) for bowling, Lazer tag, mini golf, and arcade games. Decent selection of food and nice drinks at a good price , especially at happy hour. And the drinks were strong . Bowling wasn't available at 5pm or for the rest of the night and it wasn't mentioned on their website which was a bummer, but it was probably a once in a while occurrence. Kids loved the bounce house it was surprisingly clean haha. Would check this place out again . Go on a Thursday when you can
Went on a Thursday which is only $2/game and they are open until midnight because of karaoke. They started glow bowl at 9pm right after league, great deal.
We have throw a birthday party at Knotty Pines two years in a row now (Feb 2022 & Feb 2023) for both parties, we have chosen the 2 part package (bounce and bowl) and the employees there have made each party so easy. The have times for the bowling to start and end, when the food will be out, all of the instructions we would need to keep the party flowing and seamless! They've even made updates that made the place clean and inviting! All of the renovations they've put into the place are worth the drive up the
I probably shouldn't leave a star! I went to a party last year. It was great. Had my grandson's party and nothing went right. The party package was a joke! One pizza per & 5 kids. If it's a real pizza fine but it barely fed 2 10 yr olds. They hold your CC so I couldn't get cards for the kids yet they couldn't do laser tag cause they let other kids in during our time. Only one bounce house. Not big enough for 20 kids. TV wasn't working. No supervision. Kids got hurt in the laser tag. Total chaos. If you can'
This place is a nice stop on the way to Tahoe. It breaks up the drive. The bowling is good and fairly priced. There's an arcade for kids. They have drinks and food. Bathrooms are clean. Not a bad place to spend an hour or two.
It so nice up there and the best days to go bowling is Tuesdays and Thursdays
Such a cool place! Went for a birthday party for the first time this weekend. It was amazing for the 5-7year old crowd. Bounce house, mini golf, Lazer tag, bowling and batting cages?!? The kids could not have had more fun. From an adult standpoint it felt safe, the restrooms were clean and well stocked. The bar was great! The only two complaints I had, the chicken wings were the worst I have ever ever had. In my wildest dreams I don't know how they could have tasted so bad..very soggy and microwaved. Sever
I'd leave 1 star but at least the employees were nice and it was clean. Our lanes failed in every way a lane can fail. Sometimes software glitches. Sometimes hardware glitches. Some glitches were predictable in their failure and other ones came out of the blue like when it randomly swapped our replacement lane back to the one we started on. At one point it would place the pins for my 7 year old, knock them over automatically, and give him a strike. It did this 3 rounds in a row before fixing itself with no
It's a good place for Bowling. Place is spacious. The Lazer tag is the best part I think of the attractions. So much fun. The miniature golf wasn't for me. Very kid like and although the attraction was cool it still lacked fun for me for the minature golf setting. Staff are kind which is always nice when going to a new place. I think their prices are fair but who am I to know people's budgets. It's a fun place to kill time for adults or kids. I mean theirs a lot Bowling a Bar, Bounce House, Miniature Golfin
Great place to enjoy some bowling, laser tag, mini golf & arcades with the family. We've held a few birthday parties here and the staff have been very helpful. The facilities are clean, too. While there might be a malfunction with a game or with your bowling lane from time to time, the staff are very hard workers and try to get right on it to help you or fix things. This is a pretty popular place in our small town!
This place is great. All kinds of entertainment and things to do. Food is good and fairly priced. Good place for a kid or teens birthday
Kids had a great time with bowling, laser tag, arcade game. Younger kids had a bouncy house. We were there for my grandson's 8th birthday so we had a area for his party with pizzas and cake.
Had a bday party here for my son. Staff was great, kids had a blast and the laser tag was awesome.
Do not bowl here! If you care about your bowling balls because the machines and ball return will eat your bowling balls up and the place won't pay to have them fixed
This place has really come along way. Not only is it just a bowling alley, but now an arcade, laser tag, jumpy house, and of course full bar. The staff are always friendly and a great environment. My family and friends always have a blast here. The ONLY negative thing I can say is that no matter what time or day I've been there since the new attractions were added is that it always feels like they are understaffed for the amount of people that need attention and it can be a little bit of a wait to get a dri
Y'all suck I swear....your website league info is not accurate, so I took my 4 year old to bowl and y'all were closed for leagues when the website said you were open. He was so excited to bowl for the first time and when he found out he couldn't he cried. So we tried to cheer him up with the arcade and like 75% of the games were not working. We ended up leaving with my 4 year old in tears. Come on y'all do better.
I enjoyed myself quite a bit at Knotty Pine Lanes, the variety of things there was much more than I expected. The mini golf was real fun, and while the props were not pristine quality, they still looked great. The bowling was also fun and worked fairly well, we had one issue of a screen not showing up but that was it. The staff was very nice and helpful. Best of all the place was fairly empty which allowed for my group and I to not have to deal with large amounts of people.
This place got some major upgrades in the last couple years and it looks so awesome inside!! I need to get some photos next time we are there because it looks like most of the photos online still show the old facilities. The staff have always been great when we are there and my girls love playing in the updated arcade, the spooky glow golf course, bounce house, lazer tag & the food we had from their new menu was great too. I remember coming here a long time ago when it had different owners & it was nowhere
Its the most family fun you'll find in the area. It gets poppin in there. Plenty to do. If the lanes are full...Try the mini golf.
this place is pretty good, good food, good drink, nice alcohol selection, the speedometer in the bowling lanes is kinda messed up though so don't pay attention to speed. overall a really good place. the laser tag is great to!
They have a lot of fun arcade games to play! Brady walked us through laser tag rules and he was super friendly and fun! Nahele was super nice and helpful. Even though it was Presidents Day and super busy we got great service! I highly recommend going here. My family and I will definitely be coming back!
The Customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. I waited over 30 minutes for a drink and they were not even busy. They sold me unlimited laser tag wrist bands for my kids and due to the lack of staffing, my kids got to play 2 laser tag matches in a matter of 2 and a half hours. When speaking to the staff they did not care or try to make things right at all. We will NOT EVER return to this establishment again!
It has a very welcoming and open atmosphere. Great place for family entertainment. We had as much fun as our kids. Just wish their menu had a few more options, maybe some allergy friendly options since no outside food or drink is allowed.
New owners but I have not been there before so I am not sure on any updates. We rented out the alley for a couple hours for my son's 16th birthday. I have nothing negative to say. The service was exceptional, the food was good and my son had a blast. The crew went above and beyond my expectations and I commend them. We will be back as a family to bowl. Thanks for making my son's 16th birthday a success!
Have lived here for 32 yrs now. I knew I would live here after visiting the Sly Park Recreational Center in 6th grade. Have bowled in league many years ago and just tonight took my son and his girlfriend with my daughter for an evening out to the KPL. Absolutely beautiful job by the most recent owners. Excellent staff, exceptional service, extremely clean and such a positive environment. All the BS over the last year actually disappeared for a few hours. Excellent family event area. Absolutely is better
I came here with friends for the first time since new owners took over. I was surprised and happy to hear that league bowling wasn't going on every single day anymore. So, we could actually get a lane to play on, and they were open until midnight! They have made some nice changes. I will definitely go back, and next time bring my family as well.
Staff is really friendly but the bartenders aren't checking IDs well enough. A 17 year old was being served when we were there. She was heavily intoxicated, ordering shot from the bartender. Her brother told us her age at the end of the night thinking it was funny.
Funny how the Bowling lanes have a long wheelchair path to the doors but no way for a person in a wheelchair to get in the double doors by themselves. Might want to consider automatic entry doors as an investment for the future. I can't comment further since I couldn't get into the place. ??
Fun for the whole family! Good food, clean environment and great customer service! It's a great option for entertainment, especially on rainy days.
This place was at first a great addition to our small community. Somewhere they lost their way. Was there for my grandson's birthday. They overbooked the number of parties and it was bleak. We had to ask multiple times for the pizza we paid for and I tried several times to order some food and the blonde older woman ignored me. Than a fight broke out and the same blonde employee got in the middle and was cussing and threatening the other people involved. Not the kind of place where 5 year kids should be. Unf
I'm enjoying the remodeling at the Knotty Pines! There is so many things for the kids now. We enjoyed a birthday celebration and they even had goody bags that came with the package. The kids enjoyed themselves and the place is a decent size that they don't go wondering off and the adults can't see them
To be completely honest, ever since i started going bowling last year. The only positive experience with the employees have geen during afternoon, otherwise the staff at night seem to be very rude and unwelcoming. I wanted to like the place, but tonight clown eyebrows gave me the usual side eye and sass. Then our lane with another group was glitching out and one of the staff blamed us and the other group for messing up their ball returning system. One staff member tried to guilt trip us saying that 25 balls
They were slammed. It was my friends birthday and they were over booked and under staffed. They lost our reservation and the maintenance guy was helping the bar. They said we got a complementary game because of the mess up and then tried to charge us full price. They put us on a broken lane for about 15 minutes. When we started trying to figure out how to split it they took off the shoe rentals. They forgot our pizza order because they don't have enough people. The customer service was good but who ever doe
This was my first time back to knotty pines since the roof fiasco and new owners taking over. They have done a lot, the place looks great. We did have some bowling lane mishaps, but I guess that's bound to happen. I would suggest they hire some more people, the poor guy working the front was working his butt off. Definitely would recommend and visit again.
This bowling alley is a great place. The new owners are working very hard. On making it a great place to go and bowl & have family fun. There is plenty of parking, they offer food, drinks. They have a arcade, bowling, and pool tables, music. Last time I was there they were working on having miniture golf & Lazer tag also. They have lots of seating and they do birthday parties. The staff are nice & friendly, prices are very reasonable also. I would recommend this bowling alley & fun for the whole family.
We had such a great time playing laser tag with our grandkids! Staff was so friendly. Definitely will go back! Awesome family atmosphere. Wonderful, fun spot in our little town.
Very small house, but well kept... They have a game room, pool tables, an area for mini golf and laser tag. There is an area where they have put in bounce houses. The games that are in this area give tickets for prizes. There is a bar available for adult beverages... It is a family friendly atmosphere... They have added a couple of pinball machines and classic arcade games. It's a bit nostalgic, really.
Its always a good time. The staff are very helpful and go out of your way to make sure you have a good time. However, there was a large group of us (around 10) playing lazer tag but they didnt have enough working equipment. We were already playing when we noticed there werent enough working vesrs.
Took kids over the weekend. If you use bumper Lanes are fine. If you are a real bowler the lanes are terrible! Equiptment not functioning properly.Spoke to a few experienced bowlers there they are also disappointed for the lack of care and professionalism. One basket of French fries took one hour and they weren't fully cooked ( center cold). Frozen fries not rocket science. The help blamed birthday parties. Suggestion to owners especially regarding the bowling and food, get competent help that know what they
First time in there today. Super friendly and a very well appointed entertainment venue for being so far out in the hills. We will go back again soon. Great place to bowl. Didnt get to try the food but it looked good.
Was a favorite hang out of mine during highschool and collage years. New owners have done a lot to update and keep it fresh for being only bowling center on US 50 side of the foothills. Way a little underwhelmed with the glow golf but laser tag was set up well. If it was me I'd get rid of the golf and make two laser arenas or one giant one.
The new owners kick ass! The glow golf is awesome, the remodeled bowling area is awesome, the new party room is awesome and they serve honest to god actual FOOD now!!! The kids party packages are 10x better than what they used to be.
Neighborhood drop in for food and drink. We have enjoyed the game room, especially motorcycle racing! Looking forward to trying the new batting cages, and the miniature golf looks great with the characters and colors in black light!
When we got to the alley, they didn't have our reservation. They gave us a complimentary game on a lane that didn't work. We were finally moved to a lane that did work, only to find it kept glitching out. I went to the ladies room and one of the stalls was locked without anyone inside. The best service we got was at the bar. So disappointed.
Lanes were very difficult to score on. A number of higher-average bowlers struggled. Automatic scoring accuracy was terrible. Food was OK. Folks at the front desk were outstanding, giving great customer service.
Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 stars. The games and entertainment are great. Service level is extremely low and understaffed but friendly. If they're busy, plan on waiting a long time for your order.
Was visiting my in-laws in Pollock Pines and went to this bowling alley. The workers were awesome and the atmosphere was good. They have a bounce house, pool tables, birthday party rooms, 12 lanes and reasonably priced.
Was such great fun! (Saved some tokens so I can go play the games and act like a kid). But it was great fun playing pool for an hour and want to go bowling sometime soon. Worth the 5 Stars
Knotty pines has been redone, they now have glow mini golf, laser tag, a bounce area and small arcade. A perfect place for a kids birthday party. The laser tag arena has a good layout, plenty of places to hide and when you add the fog, it's really cool looking when you can see your laser
Great place for a birthday party. Kids had a blast playing Lazer tag. Service was stellar even though it was crazy packed! Look forward to going again soon!
This place was pretty darn fun! I loved the indoor miniature golf experience the most! There are several bowling lanes. The pizza was super Good! Service was very friendly and helpful! I love the bar ;)
We had a great time bowling, played in the arcade for a while, and ate! Always fun to come here, especially for the kids!
Great place, respectful staff and laid back atmosphere, food is surprisingly good and great beverage selection. Very fun spot for kids birthday parties, or adult time on the lanes.
We had a lot of fun!!! It was our first time there and seemed fine. Would love to come back sans children.
Brady is the most passionate worker I've ever found in this entire town..The operates and understands every part of every game and entertainment portion for our kids in this community and every time that I've met him he has not lost an ounce of passion for a job that he has here. Great dude and made this rating a five-star rating
Blacklight mini golf was fun. Decent food and drink prices. Good arcade for kids. Had a good time. Worth it 100% for a day of activities especially with kids and during all this covid B.S.
We saw an Ad on Facebook for unlimited activities from 5pm to 11pm for $20, so we decided to go on Halloween. The Ad is not printed accurately, it's for Tuesday nights only. Thursday thru Sunday $20 unlimited Laser Tag only. The young man running the Laser Tag had the worst body oder.
Took my daughters tonight and had to wait for an open lane. So we played games and half of them didnt even work properly. Use to be a great place to take kids wont go back anymore ??
On March 6th, my birthday, I took my daughter, son in law and my 2 granddaughters there to play pool, arcade games with my eldest granddaughter and hopefully get in a set of bowling. An hour before the league was to start, I inquired about bowling shoes for my granddaughter. The lady barked at me in a rude, almost disgusted tone,"We have a league starting soon! " I replied, "sorry to bother you.", and went back with my family in the pool room, feeling bewildered and upset at her rude and VERY unprofessional
Always A good experience small town good clean fun great food drinks adult fun youth fun as well.
Took the family here and had a great time. Very fair prices for bowling, cheap food and drinks and a very good size arcade. Looking forward to going back in the future.
They've made improvements. Now they have a pirate mini golf and bounce houses. The food has improved too. Good birthday party packages as well.
Good place to go for beers(they need more taps) and some snacks. I say snacks because they need a full menu. Nachos, chicken sandwiches, maybe a Philly. All they have right now are burgers and chix wings
This would be a fun place if they stuck to their posted business hours. We have tried to go bowling 3 times now with 4 of our kids before 8:30 pm just to find out they closed early. What the heck Knotty Pines?!
I love going to the bowling alley in Pollock Pines. Along with bowling -and the bar of course- they also have glow in the dark mini golf for $6. I was told they are gonna have ( glow in the dark ?) laser tag too!
Great place for kids & adults. Lots of games in addition to bowling. Laser tag, pin ball & pool too. Full bar & great food as well.
??always have a good time open late good drinks and one of the few places to get hard alcohol late in Pollock And last time we all got burgers And they were great fries were crispy good also Best burger I've had in the area
Very nice, not like all the bowling alleys of past days- packed with teams of bowlers all so noisy ya can't hear yourself think- It was a very pleasant place- we had prevails with cheese abuse which was very good the drink I had was good, not 2 strong, just right- we will go back 4 sure- give the place a try
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
