Reviews Summary

Overall, reviews highlight a fun, family-friendly bowling alley with great staff, clean facilities, and good food. Many praise the lively atmosphere, arcade, and excellent service, though some note high prices and occasional slow service. Cosmic bowling is popular but could be darker. The "Kids Bowl Free" program is a hit, though shoe fees apply. A few mention long waits or inconsistent service, but most agree it's a great spot for parties and casual bowling. Some concerns about the surrounding neighborhood's safety were noted, but the venue itself is well-maintained and secure.

First time here, came for a birthday party. The servers were awesome. They refilled our drinks, always asking if we need anything else. The food was ok, wouldn't go there to eat.

Had a blast on a busy night. Reserved Lanes in advance with coupon. Our drink service was excellent. Mixed crowd of all levels of bowlers on a weekend night.

Our toddler had their first bowling experience here and the staff helped make it super fun. They had size 7 shoes as the smallest size for toddlers which was perfect and a ball launch ramp for them to easily push the bowling ball from. Great as a late night stop if waiting for a plane to arrive from nearby PDX, especially on Sundays and weeknights when they have half price arcade games and quarter bowling games and shoes. We had an awesome time!

Always have great staff and service. Clean place, great food for a bowling alley. Would be better if staff took a moment to explain lane etiquette to families and those not familiar with bowling culture but we love this place and will keep coming back.

Pretty decent food for a bowling alley, bbq chicken pizza is always nice in my book. Very well run, new clean shoes, lovely servers etc

Awesome food and drinks! We got the nachos and a chicken sandwich and both were perfectly prepared/flavorful. We also got a blackberry margarita, which was one of the best margaritas I've ever had! We gave their peanut butter milk stout a try and it was delicious! If you like dark beer and peanut butter I recommend giving it a try! It's surprisingly a lot tastier than you might think. Take it from someone that does not like beer! The only con I'll add is that it was $160 for two to bowl/eat and 2 drinks. A

Way too expensive for a normal bowling, but the summer kids bowl free program is great. And the staff always SO nice and friendly and helpful. My son paid more than $80 for he and his girlfriend to bowl for a little more than an hour. Insane. I am sure the prices will be going up again soon. But at least they have the summer program for another year before he ages out.

King Pins has completely lost our trust. I came here with my girlfriend and her family for what was supposed to be a fun night out. During our visit, my girlfriend went to the bathroom, and shockingly, a security guard followed her in and was seen looking through the cracks of the stall door. Completely unacceptable and disgusting behavior. We immediately reported it to the manager, who assured us face-to-face that this security guard would never be allowed back at the establishment. He also informed us th

We celebrated my brother 21st there at the tap house this weekend. We appreciated everyone that helped us out. All the staff, Audrea, Sonia, and their team did such a great job setting everything up for us. It was above and beyond our expectations. The catering food was so delicious! Wonderful selections! We had such a great time there. We appreciate y?all so much!

First time at this 32 lane house and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was lively, and the staff was professional, courteous, and on point. There was an arcade for parties, the food was sensational (full of flavor), and a full bar as well. It was an amazing tournament from Revolutionary Tournament Bowling (RTB), and a blessing to have Sean Daniels from Oregon Bowling Association (OBA) livestream the event (at the 6 hour mark our team was on the feed)! Can't wait to bowl in this house again!

scammed my friend during his party. we were not given the redemption points promised on the website, and the food sucked. games were horrible, and employees looked like they didn't wanna be there. it took us 10 minutes to even play because for some reason the cards to play arcade games immediately became active the moment party was purchased.

My group and I were harassed by the tall lgbtq dude. My coworkers and I went out to bowl on Saturday night. Unfortunately for me. I didn't have my wallet because it was stolen earlier in the week and am in the process of getting everything replaced. One of our coworkers ordered a pitcher, and i will admit they shared some with me (I'm 26), because they knew of my situation. I get it I probably shouldn't have been drinking without having shown my ID, but after this guy confronted us I told him "I don't have

Not bad, had a birthday here. Kinda dingey, but all bowling spots are. The food was okay, employees were nice enough. Not a lotta complaints.

Trying to make an extra buck by making people sick. The restaurant has many things labelled "gluten free" that are NOT. When I asked waitstaff, they were "pretty sure" that it was gluten free. When I got them to ask the kitchen, I found out that they are lying. They do not have a dedicated fryer. Everything is cross contaminated and they cannot provide gluten free food. This is a violation of OHA's food regulations, which require honesty when labelling food. And if you still are thinking about eating here,

Awesome bowling alley! Offers something for everyone. Lots of room for bowling, the staff was always super helpful. The whole center is very clean and updated. The kitchen was super fast and the food was delicious. Had the mediterranean wrap with fries and would 100% recommend it! Love the separate bowling alley in the restaurant area. Cool atmosphere.

First time here and we were really impressed! Everything was clean and the staff was professional yet helped to create a welcoming and fun environment. And they even have a bar and grill inside. The food was surprisingly good which in my experience is pretty rare when it comes to bowling and entertainment centers. As for the drink, they were pricey but REALLY yummy! And the desserts, namely the giant loaded cookie, was insanly good! We will definitely be returning and bringing more friends ?? Update: we ret

Came here for a work event and had so much fun. 32 lanes, a huge arcade and a sports bar under one roof so plenty to do for everyone young and old.

Wow, what a great alley!! Came here during spring break and it was packed but Terrance at the front desk was wonderful and gave us the last lane available. Their state-of-the-art equipment is something I've never seen before and I liked being able to choose different pin formats for the various games. It was like ?Top Golf? for bowling if that makes sense. Arcade was nice and clean as well, we had so much fun here and I highly highly recommend this venue for family or grownup fun!

The staff here is amazing! Several parties going on and they were so organized and relaxed. We had so much fun here!

I have eaten there twice and both times where great, Customer service was great also.

So much fun! Super friendly! Good deals on lanes and gear rentals. Very clean and well kept equipment. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. They have a bar area that you can escape from the younger crowd and bowl in the bar.

The bowling placeat Tap Hous was super cool. I highly recommend this place. Consider TapHouse instead of main lane since for a small price difference, you will get cool lounge seating, billiard style balls and big screens. its much quieter than main lanes. The food was also high quality. They do allow kids in Tap House and have automatic bumpers for the lanes.

Took my grandson for a O'pa and Kleinzoon day. We had a blast.

Actually was a great place to go with the family. We came on a Saturday night at about 8pm which seemed to be the sweet spot between rushes of people. The shoes were clean, lots of bowling balls to choose from (and racks were all well organized). They a new system that gives you lots of interesting stats as you bowl. There was table service that was quick and friendly. The arcade isn't huge but there is plenty to check out. They also have a restaurant and bar. Overall good experience.

Great bowling and food with a great selection of draft beer. I had the chicken wrap with tasty fries and my wife has the veggie burger with tater tot's. Super friendly staff and very clean. Highly recommend this place.

Pretty cool place. Nice lanes, good arcade, friendly staff.. the only thing is, it could have been quite a bit darker for cosmic bowling, which is what we were there for. But it was still a great time. Advice to the company; cut the main lights for cosmic bowling. With them on, the colored lights/blacklights/blacklight reactive stuff, just arent very prominent. But, its not worthy of taking away a star. Sik

Clean facility, lots of balls available, helpful & friendly staff. No outside food or beverage is allowed and I found the prices a little excessive (not sure if that's just my frugal nature or fact). And when we did order it took a looong time to get our beverages (water, soda, one beer). I would definitely return for another family fun time, but would make plans to eat ahead of time.

Despite not having my own bowling balls and using my brother's, I thought it was pretty cool. And on top of that, they had sour beers for a pitcher, a little pricey but hey I'm on vacation, so whatever, come check it out, the staff was very friendly too.

Staff is friendly. Lanes are well maintained. The Taphouse lanes are my favorite and the bar has a very good beer selection.

Love this place the staff are super friendly and they have league bowling plus the pro shop if you want a authentic bowling experience I suggest you come visit this place hands down best lanes in portland.

This house is second to none, complete bowling entertainment for the whole family. The best pro shop around, great service nice bar, restaurant.Relax and have fun.

We did have our 3 Days Events for PCDBA/PCDWBA Tournament in the KingPins Bowling House. It's great to bowl and wonderful atmosphere especially with plenty of room for bowlers and fans! Wonderful service from all the employees with the utmost respect and solid communication for all of the Hard of Hearing and Deaf Bowlers and Fans! We are so pleased with their work to make things so smooth! The photo provided of the Tournament Plaques I received proves the lanes just absolutely ?? efficient to win the Champi

Phil & Audrey are ah-mazing! We had so much fun. It was our first time running a tournament and they are so helpful. Highly recommend them!

Went the day after Thanksgiving with my family for some bowling. We didn't have reservations so expected to wait. Were put on a waitlist and the employees were amazing at communicating with us when others canceled their reservations. Spent an hour at the bar before we were to start bowling, however bar staff ignored us and several other guests without so much as a hello (which was a bummer) for a good 20 minutes after sitting down depsite walking by us multiple times. Spent an hour just getting one round of

A nice place to bowl. The food is pretty tasty too! There's an arcade as well as several bowling lanes. The restaurant has lanes, too!

Great family atmosphere that is packed with laughter, fun and excitement. Great lanes, great computer system and excellent customer service. Beer ain't cheap but it's good! Fries were great and warm and the pizza wasnt cardboard tasting which was nice!. Shoes are newer and the facility is pretty spotless. Server was attentive and courteous. Would bowl here again if in the area.

Nothing special. But descent. Didn't bowl. Went to Taphouse. Food and drinks were descent.

I'll start by saying we definitely prefer the Beaverton location. While the inside is clean (no complaints), the area that this KingPins is in is extremely unappealing. There are a handful of homeless camps just blocks away, lots of trash on the streets, and people begging on every corner. Frankly, it's just unpleasant to come here. We experienced a lot of technical issues when we tried playing some of the arcade games. First, the play card jammed/did not come out of the machine when we purchased it. It too

So fun my grandkids and I had so much fun here this is a great place

Had a great time with friends. The place was PACKED so if you don't like crowds or hundreds of screaming teens and pre-teens this is NOT the place for you. But if you want to have a great time bowling with some food and drinks then give this place a try. Lots of lanes, a private area for reserved parties, an arcade. Enjoy!

First time here! Nice atmosphere! This place had a Tap House Bar and Grill, and arcade. The music playing was pop music! And there were TVs showing different sport games that were on. I would recommend this place I felt very comfortable here.

Myself and my roommate went bowling at kingpin lanes on 92nd tonight. It was good except that the temperature in the Tapout was way too high with no fans going. That affected how the bowling was, made me and several others uneasy, and even an older gentleman lose his balance. I was told the temperature was in the mid 70's, but with the amount of people in the place, the high humidity. The temperature should have been lower.

Fun and pretty cheap compared to some places I've been. Friendly people also

Food was good however waitress was rude because she messed up our order. Kids had a blast as always

We loved KingPins ?? Visited here during the NYE this year. We made a reservation of the bowling lane for the NYE. We had a blast here, it was so much of fun ?? The arcade had so many options of games for all age from kids to adults. We loved the the games specially the 3D games. We would definitely visit KingPins again!!

Took the kids to play in arcade there. It was fine except spending 60 bucks for two large pizzas.

The "Kids bowl free" program is awesome! However, you have to pay for shoes. They offer a shoe pass per each kid. This is will be our place to go on hot summer days.

KingPins Portland is a beautiful bowling center with lots to offer. Super friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Highly recommend visiting this center.

I came here after the hassle at Glowing Greens mini golf. Glad we did. The place is bright, the staff was quick to help us. Large parking lot to boot. Got us set up with a lane right away. Paid and bowled. No having to scan QR codes and make an account just to come once. The equipment is up to date. I haven't bowled in decades but I might just come again as we had a lot of fun. Even though we guttered a lot!!!

Twas good. Fun, affordable. Not as good as the beaverton location, but still a blast.

Monday & Tuesday nights are half off in the Arcade. So worth it to get double the fun on your card play. Highly recommend getting an appetizer at the bar AND the game play card combo.

Super fun spot to go bowling. Staff is super friendly. The menu isn't too crazily priced. The food is sooooo good. Everyone I get food here in a little surprised how good it is. Waitresses there named Jess always takes such good care of us during bowling league. Give her a raise!

Wow. This place was awesome. I came for the arcade. I was not disappointed. The coin pushers was a ton of fun. I really liked playing the Halo arcade. Beer was good. Food was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. And just the whole vibe of that place was legit. A true gem in this neighborhood. Can't wait to go back.????? went for a second time... still awesome.

NOTHING bad to say.. Staff is incredible and accommodating. Bathrooms are always clean. Food is consistently above bar and reasonably priced. It is obvious that everyone here wants to do everything they can to make your experience awesome. Special props to exceptional employees Jordan and Jasmine!!

We are part of the winter league. It's just for fun - we're terrible - but this place is a good time. Good drinks, good music, and busy in a good way. We're always in the dark area - which is obviously just more fun.

the food is surprisingly amazing! Try the nachos ??

It's a bowling alley. It smells good and it seems like a nice place to take your family. The lights and such are pretty cool. The drinks are strong, (that's a good thing). There is one thing that I felt management should rethink is the female dress code standard. I realize it is a bowling alley, yet clean clothes that fit would do the place wonders. The majority of employees had good attitudes, and seemed glad to be there. It's a fun place to go.

Nice, clean and Poppin on the weekends. Great drinks and good food.

Liked the atmosphere and the layout. The scoreboard was a new style I have never seen. Tons of stats and even shows your ball speed. The lanes are not real wood planks so there is really no give in the ball and the oil is super slick so your ball thrown is always different once the ball sucks up the oil. The prices on the beer was decent and they had a good menu. I did like the amount of beer they had on tap but a few kegs were tapped. Overall it was a good experience.

We had a great company party here food and service was great. Plenty of parking.

Fun clean nice place to bowl...The bartender Jeff was super polite and can make very tasty cocktails....Thanks for the fun experience...will definitely be back

Was just there for the first time today and was blown away by the staff and the facility. I had to call ahead as my son's sensory issues meant this was a big risk. The staff was very helpful, so much so I thought the chance was worth it. Ultra modern arcade, the lanes were beautiful, the entire place was very clean, and while we didn't eat, the food looked well worth it. So many staff ensured our experience was perfect. Happy to say he bowled his first full game and we will definitely come back. Most of my

Games! Bowling and arcade games! The food is actually pretty good too. Huge beer and drink selection with a full bar. Great for the whole family!

Clean, modern, reasonable pricing on bowling n foods. Only thing is arcade games are pricy. But we have Groupon, so it was a pretty good deal for our group.

Had a awesome time! Bowling was fun and there are a lot of arcade games to play with the kids afterwards

Food sucks bolling allwy and arcade are nice

Always fun and such wonderful staff..we always appreciate ya'all ! Happy new year! Keep up the great work!!

This place is cool. I love how you can take your kids bowling, to an arcade, and you still get your "rose colored glasses." ??

Recently took my 6yr old son for his birthday party, we did the royal package. What a fantastic experience all of the kids had. The package was an absolute great value. When you take into account the 1.5hrs of bowling, the $20 game play cards that each of the 10 kids get and the 1 free VR coaster ride they each get, you really can't beat this deal. Pizza and drinks were included, the dedicated party host was on top of everything! The drinks never stopped coming and there was plenty of pizza. The kids had a

Fun place for the family to go . Food was actually pretty good and reasonable priced . The have beer also if that's your style . Took a little to get the bumpers figured out , you have to ask there isn't a button on the controller like other places . Lock your car and hide your stuff the neighborhood isn't the best anymore but the facility is nice

John was very helpful and professional. Great place to bowl with friends and family

Beautiful, fun place and good service

Show up on a Saturday around 930 to be put on a waitlist for all you can play from 10 to 12 for 15$ person. Cosmic bowling with well known music playing!

Was there a couple days ago and had the greatest serve and server of my life named Adam. He helped us out with everything! He got us a deal for an arcade card for the kids, he checked in with us frequently to make sure we were all happy and taken care of. The people next to our lane were very loud, rude, and interrupting our bowling, we mentioned this to our server and he was able to get us move to a quieter side. Overall, food was ok, but drinks were great with lots of great options and tap list!

KingPins is a great local bowling alley with good food and drink options. Very lively and well maintained.

Winter for a work event. Really appreciated how up-to-date everything was but I'm sure that's because this is a newerly built location there was lots of nice upgrades. The arcade was pretty spacious. The food we had there was actually really good considering it was from their kitchen and of course the balls and lanes were not as dented, cracked or scratched as most other bowling alleys, especially in the Portland area

I ordered the side caesar salad and it was crunchy and crisp. If you like chicken, you should try the crispy chicken sliders. The runner who brought me my food, provided excellent service. 10/10 service??

We just had my 6-year-old son's birthday here and it was such a great experience! They took care of every detail, plus we had a birthday host to handle everything we could have needed. The total price was more than fair and we had a blast! I would recommend this place for birthdays and also just a good time.

Fun bowling alley. We had a good time. Spendy but fun

Pricing is ridiculous only the very well off can afford to bowl here bowling expensive then I ordered. 1 pitcher of coors light it was 25.00 for that one pitcher that's 12.50 for one glass that's ridiculous n over the top once league done I'm done that's jus ridiculous?.

Great place for a family night out. They even have a game zone for kids

This was a great experience despite the terrible location. We came from out of town for a birthday party and as soon as we got off the freeway I was concerned. Coming to a bowling alley with a child under 10 can be a situation if it involves an open door in a bad area. This area was fenced off with security cameras. No problems at all. As far S the amenities, it was great! Clean, friendly and I have to say surprisingly safe.

Wait staff is so wonderful and prompt but the owner seems ok with scheduling his child's birthday in the bar area after hours and doesn't make sure the extra wait staff brought in for the event were responsibly tipped by the guests. They easily spent over a thousand dollars collectively and the people the owner invited to celebrate a birthday of pre 8 in years old children's parents didn't show any appreciation. Obviously the owner doesn't surround themselves with people who care about others which is a

We had a great time here. I got a discount from Groupon, and we got 2 hrs of bowling and a $20 arcade card for around $70 for 5 people! The place was clean and the staff was very kind and friendly. The kiddos had a blast, and the food was surprisingly good. The alleys seemed balanced and well oiled. The only gripes I have, which is nitpicking, is that the console we had was weird and didn't work that well and I never really liked the attached chair/table combo at any bowling alley. We spent about 3 hrs t

Love this place for family fun and bowling league. Today was a bummer of a day. We knew there would be a wait. It was 2 hours and we agreed. We played in the arcade and purchased drinks while playing game. We were called for our lane at almost 2 hours. Service was just off at the lane. I felt like I was putting them out. Had to ask several times for the same drink. I think I just expected a "no problem" I'll get it. Not a "I heard you ask the other staff, she is not your server". Moments later her shift en

Zero isn't an option, so one will do. We had an absolutely terrible experience. First off, their prices are unbelievably high per lane, higher prices for pitchers, the lighting prevents you from being able to see the lane markers, and the amount of little kids with parents who aren't watching is outrageous. We had to constantly watch out, remind, and shoo away kids from our lane, the ball return, and from bowling in our lane. At what point is it considered okay to let kids run all over the place, down the

Went there with about 20 other co-workers, and they were great. Quick to bring our orders, and we were able to add a couple of lanes to our reservation. Very accommodating

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
