K1 Speed - Indoor Go Karts, Corporate Event Venue, Team Building Activities

Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise the fast, well-maintained karts and exciting track design, with many calling it the best go-karting experience in the area. Staff are frequently described as friendly and safety-conscious, though some note inconsistent enforcement of rules during races. Long wait times—often 2-4 hours—are the most common complaint, especially on weekends, with frustration over lack of reservations or transparency about availability. A few mention aggressive drivers or poor kart conditions, but the majority highlight fun, speed, and professionalism, recommending weekdays for shorter waits. Pricing is seen as high by some, but many feel the experience justifies the cost.

Customer Reviews

This place is super fun! The people are very friendly. I have gone go-karting before in my home town and loved it. I was traveling for work and wanted to go go-karting. I saw this place and thought it was perfect. The track layout is challenging yet rewarding. One of the employees there named Mike was super friendly and had some great pointers when it came to the track. He made sure during the instructions that I knew where to brake and watch out for high speed. I don't think I would have gotten the time I

Our experience wasn't exactly smooth, as they're dealing with staffing issues, but we had a great time. Make reservations in advance if you plan on visiting. That said, the staff was great and just doing the best with what they had. When we arrived just before opening, the manager informed everyone that they were reservation-only for the rest of the day. We called the number and were told reservations require a minimum of 12 people. We managed to gather enough people from other smaller groups trying to fi

I like it very much. The instructor was very responsible and explained everything clearly. The safety measures were sufficient, and there were also other arcade games in the hall. It's a great place for family and company gatherings.

Had a ball here last night. Came with a group of eight so we had our own race. 1st session is primarily a timed session to get the feel of the track and cars which also seeds you for the final race after a 10 minute break ( which you will want..ha). 2nd race starts off with a staggered start where you race for the final position. Podium pictures and medals followed. Staff and facility was excellent and the cars fast. Will be back!

It was SUPER GREAT! I don't think in the nearest area that there is a two tier track that's indoor! Super fun they even keep records! Like I feel like if you want to enter in this arena this is a great place to start! The staff was wonderful! My cousin had a great time for her birthday and we are ALL GROWN ??

Today I went to the place, terrible for the races... the spectacular place but to my family who participated in the race with two more people who were not part of the family group, but those other two people were speeding up and my relatives slowed down those who drive the cars. Then we started to watch the next race where the same two people participated and yes, we realized that those two people were first and the others were last and they slowed down. Very chimbo. Very bad. I'll stay with the other racin

One of the best karting locations I have been too! The place is very clean for a karting track, the staff work quickly and most importantly the karts are not trashed. all of the karts handle well and are very quick. The staff are fairly good about giving the correctly level of power for the skill level of each driver. This is really important for a karting track as it prevents incidents that trash the karts. You'll see some reviews of people being upset that the staff slowed them down, this may be frustrati

Pay no mind to these bad reviews. It's a new place with new employees and they are still figuring things out, but that said, we went with a group of 4 and races 3 races, everything was great! Carts were fast! Never slowed them down. Employees were great. We were one race right after the next, didn't have much time to rest between races which was cool with us. We all had a blast, will come again

We had a great time! Fast go karts, the place is clean, the place had a very nice track . They had a food spot inside also.

I love karting, done this before, but didn't like the track here. Probably because its new but the friction is so much that it take lot of energy to take a turn, our hands were hurting so bad after race. Frankly I would love to go again but since the tires are new and sticky I would rather wait.

Fun activity for just about the whole family. Staff were kind and knowledgeable while keeping safety a priority. The Go karts are well maintained however the track is narrow yet still fun.

We were looking for a fun culture building activity and decided to book a corporate event here. I would recommend it to anyone! The food was good, the staff was great, and the racing was amazing. The carts are fast and the course is unique and challenging but very very fun! It is a great choice for a corporate event.

My family and I visited today with minimal prior driving experience and signed up for three races. The staff at both the front desk and the pit area were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed to be in a positive mood and eager to assist, which made our experience enjoyable. However, there was one aspect of our visit that impacted our overall experience. During the races, we were paired with 2 young individuals who appeared to have significant prior experience. Despite clear instructions that

Before you race, they tell you that karting is a "non-contact sport" there. However, during my first race I was rear-ended at considerable speed (enough to knock the wind out of me) no less than three times and sideswiped almost every time I was passed, even though I hung out to the right side of the track as they expect less experienced folks to do. No one was black flagged - in fact, no one was manning the flags for the majority of the race; all of the employees had the classic look of just not wanting

BEWARE! They will slow you down, so you don't beat their regulars. My husband and I spent a Saturday here. We arrived before 4, had to wait till 7:15 for the race. No issue, we went and ate and came back. First race was fine, we had multiple people who were novices, in our party. We went around the track just fine, only slowed when an accident occurred. However our second round, they had multiple regulars in our round. You could tell they had their own helmets, gloves etc. We start the round everything is g

Cars were fast. Friendly crew. Great fun to drive the track. Clean facility. Will be back!

Me and my fianc? just moved to Ohio from Vegas. We have both raced leagues in Vegas and phoenix before, being both top 50 in the country for k1rs points (for 2024, of course) plus having a ton of track time! Coming to this track with my fianc? to just have fun plus win another trophy, we are very serious about racing. NEVER FELT SO DISRESPECTED AND RIDICULED IN MY LIFE. We both did practice runs, first run (mind you I am handicapped ?of a massive AVM Stroke survivor) One of the workers demanded that I need

Went here for a bachelor party. Under new management and you can tell it runs like a well oiled machine now. Kaleb the guy running the races was amazing and Michael the GM was also very personable and friendly. Highly recommend if you're in the area, worth the money.

We recently hosted our son's birthday party here, and despite a miscommunication between their headquarters and this location, the staff handled everything smoothly. They quickly resolved the issue on-site, ensuring our event went off without a hitch. The team was professional, accommodating, and committed to making the celebration special. Overall, we were super happy with their responsiveness and customer service, making it a great place for a stress-free party!

Huge fan of K1 speed and have visited a dozen locations throughout the US. My kids really enjoyed this track which is a double decker configuration. When we first tried to go on a Sunday in January '25, it was booked for most of the afternoon with a 3 hour wait to get into a race. We came again on a Monday in April '25 and had the place to ourselves!!!

Our experience at K1 Speed was incredibly disappointing. We arrived, paid, and signed up, only to be told afterward that there would be a three-hour wait. When we returned after the wait, we were told it would be another hour. After finally getting to the pits for our race, the staff failed to place us in the correct race. Instead of fixing their mistake, we were told to reschedule, adding yet another hour to our wait?just for the first of our three races. We visited about three weeks after this location

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. There is a lot of negative feedback, and from what I see they are unfair 1 star reviews. Everyone needs to realize this place just opened, and they will iron out the details as they go. You are coming to the best go kart experience track anywhere near the Columbus area. The Staff is very friendly and they try to keep everyone happy yet making sure things are staying safe. There is going to be a wait, but I assure you. It is worth waiting for. This place doesn't deserve a 1 star for

The track and karts are fantastic, and it's exciting to have another great option for karting in Columbus! The facility has a lot of potential and provides a thrilling experience on the course. However, the lack of an accessible race schedule is a major drawback. While waiting for the next race, there's no way to know how long the wait will be or when your turn is coming up. This often leads to sitting around for 40-60 minutes with nothing to do, which is frustrating and takes away from the overall experien

Awesome experience. A bit too expensive. Most kids will want to race more then once. I have two boys so I could only afford to let them ride twice each. The facility was clean and everyone was super nice. The guys in the pits were very kind to the kids. I will be back.

I signed up to join a party because I had race credits from a previous time where my friend asked for a refund because they didn't give us full speed. After waiting in line and signing up I was told that I was permanently banned because my friend asked for a refund. I then asked for a refund and then they would not provide me one that I could collect. This place is a complete joke. Don't waste your time or money here. I'm sure anyone familiar with myself will be avoiding the place after this. Hopefully corp

First time for my kids and I....all we did was the arcade which was overpriced to be honest. Better off going to dave and busters down the street. What sealed the deal was the desk clerk ignoring me standing at the desk to help some other guy who clearly cut the line. No apology was given after making my kids and I wait 15 mins. Just help people in the right order or make the line jumper wait his turn ..its that simple.

Great racing for all levels of drivers. Really great family fun you should give it a try soon.

So I'll start off by saying that the track and the karts ARE a blast. I think the track was designed well, and the karts are set up for the appropriate speed. If things go smoothly, it's a lot of fun and worth doing. My issue is, that they stress safety during the briefing, and then throw it out of the window once you're on the track. With the two races that my friend and I ran, we had numerous problems with other racers that the crew were not calling out. There were many racers grouped up together and cr

STAY AWAY!!! Do not waist your money at this place. I purchased 10 races and have only been able to do 1 race which I had to wait over an hour to do. It's almost impossible to get a chance to race here on weekends. Attempted to get my Money back but was denied by center manager and regional manager. This place is a scam! Always booked!

I hesitantly came here knowing of the mixed reviews online. Most mention a long wait time or kart performance reduction. I experienced neither of these. I went during a weekday afternoon around 3pm. There was one other person on track. If you go on Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday, I would imagine there is a wait. Every track in the country is busy at those times. I have been to a number of K1 locations and this is one of the coolest tracks. The double decker provides an extra sense of speed and there are

Save your time and money and don't go here! I don't usually make reviews on things but this had to be said. The whole staff was terrible. Nobody was helpful at all. I had to direct my group on how to sign up.Then be told it's a two hour wait? while waiting for our race we saw the same five guys race back to back almost the entire time we were waiting. Once we get called we had novice drivers with us and the ?safety? guy only talked about the flags and nothing about the carts so our first time drivers had no

Fantastic experience. The only complaint is that they don't follow their own safety rules and stop people from crashing you or flag people to let them pass. If you want a good lap time you have to have a group of people that are serious. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Karts were super fast, and speed was not changed between races. Track was great and is basicallyreal-lifee Mario Kart. Ignore the bad reviews. This establishment is not what they are saying. 100% worth the money and is possibl

So fun! Was super convenient, and although they said theyve been limiting speeds to 20mph, once they trusted our group, they let us go 30mph. Very fun track and place

Great karts, fun track. Passing is really hard without bumping (if they know what they're doing)

Purchased gift cards for Christmas and got the bonus card (buy $75, get $15). The only option is to Arrive and Drive unless you have a party of 8 or more. When we got to K1 there was a line, which I expected. I filled out the registration forms while waiting. When we finally got to the counter, they told us the wait was 3 hours. It would be nice if they had a sign up at the line entry point telling you the wait time so you don't waste time. Also, being able to make reservations for smaller groups would be n

Absolutely amazing experience. I've gone to racing schools, I love to race on Sims, and I love Karting. My first visit was on 1/30/25 and this is finally the place i?ve been looking for in Ohio. Finally a really good karting facility with a good track and efficient staff. Shout out to Alissa for being extremely helpful, and she explained everything clearly and quickly for anyone to be able to understand. She was also helping train someone and I visibly could see the person learning quickly with her guidance

It was a horrible experience. I took my 11 year old son and his friend for my sons birthday. Started off by registering but had no idea that I needed to check in. There was no sign and when I got to the counter the gentleman said "I wish people would read the fine print" when I explained I did not check in. He then measured the kids and they were so excited to be tall enough to ride the bigger karts. When we got to the pits they were listed in the junior karts and were told there was nothing they could do b

Is new so rounding up to a 2, should be a 4/5 if local manager and team get standards up. They lost 1 star for corporate decision to not have lockers, fine if a charge for it but zero way to secure winter coat. They make you empty pockets to Kart so your phone, keys, cash sit unsecured in a basket that dozens of people walk by. Bush league. With that, would be 4 star except the poorly trained crew with remotes target some drivers to slow down from speed 3 to 2 and others to boost from 2 to 3. They say

Believe the bad reviews. Such an inefficient operation they are running. Long waits between races when they could have the next racers ready to go. Plan to be here for HOURS (3-4) to race for 2 mins. At the price they charge just not worth it for all the sitting around you'll be doing. Plus they don't tell you about the $8 membership everyone has to pay? not advertised either. Had to go back to the counter to get my receipt and was shocked no one mentioned it to me when I had paid. Bad business. This place

Came here today and did 3 races! Steering is a little tough with it being electric but it was definitely fun! Staff was great and explained everything regarding the cart and track well.

Katelynn was AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I went for my birthday, i didn't bring a hair tie she gave me hers from her hair. she gave me an ice pack when i knocked myself into a wall. she was very sweet and supportive throughout our time there. so grateful for a wonderful birthday

First time in today and clear that it's still a startup and needs more staffing but overall a great time had by all. Walked in, no reservations on NYD and waited shout 40 mins for our kids first race and then one race before their second. They were in the junior carts and definitely had some issues there. 1 cart completely died mid race leaving driver stranded and same driver got a cart that was just about dead second race. Other 2 carts were fine both races. Crew were very friendly and gave the kids s

i give it a 2 star because the place is fun, however i have been here 3 times now and 2/3 times it's been over a 4 hour wait. and only way to avoid the wait is if you have a party of 8 (which is ridiculous) and make a reservation. i get it this place is popular but you can't even call the store to check what the wait time is before driving 20 minutes out of your way and being a told 4 hour wait time.

My kids had an amazing first-time go-karting experience at K1 Speed! The staff went above and beyond to make sure they felt comfortable and had fun. A special shoutout to Wayne, who was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the entire visit. He made sure everything ran smoothly and really added to the positive experience. We'll definitely be coming back?thank you for making it such a memorable day for my family!

Arrive right when they opened at 12pm and there were already 30 people inside. We waiting 50 minutes before reaching the front of the line. Then were told it was be another 2 hour wait for our first race. Staff was unapologetic and suggested we come back during a weekday because they are slower? I will continue to go to Buckeye Raceway, K1 speed needs to improve.

Okay, listen. My opinion doesn't reign supreme over anyone else?s, but when it comes to the go-karting experience, I've got a few races under my belt. If you ?arrive and drive,? be prepared to wait?upwards of two hours just to get to the safety briefing. For context, we arrived at 7 PM to do two races and didn't leave until 9:45 PM (On a coveted Monday night). The variety of skill and ability you encounter on the track is completely out of the establishment?s control, but from a functionality standpoint, t

Great place just DONT GET CART 36. Omg it beat me up and left me with bruises all over my body. The cart would jerk and shake terribly and even people who were watching the race commented that it was shaking out if control. Other than my cart issue it was super fun and I had a great time just made my body sore a few days after.

As others have said, the lack of reservation ability for groups smaller than 8 is frustrating. We were only able to complete two races in two hours. Additionally, they will arbitrarily limit your speed. Out of our group of 4, 3/4 were hit with decreased speed making it difficult to be competitive in any manner. Overall, the experience left lots to be desired.

Was the most excited experience i ever had was the first time driving a go kart and it is actually pretty easy I was crushing all way around but still was so much fun highli recommended the building and the track it's amazing. It's already one of my favorite weekend places

This is my second time going to a K1 speed. The first time I went to one in Kansas City. The wait was 2.5 hours which is totally fair because it was a Friday night and this location has just opened. Me and my group of 5 came back 2.5 hours later and it turned out we would need to wait another 20-30 minutes because someone couldn't hold their lunch down. That excited me because that meant the karts were really fast. We sit in our karts and three additional individuals get added to our group up front, no prob

Have tried to go on several different occasions and could never race because the wait time is always over an hour without the option to reserve a time ahead of your visit. Update: we finally got to race and had a blast! Try to go on weekdays before school let's out and there isnt much of a wait.

Extremely fun eletric cart 45mph 2 story track.. down side to the place is they DO NOT post online when they are holding a event so if you try to arrive and drive your wasting your time 9 times of 10 ive personally been to this Columbus location four times and was only able to actually drive one out of four times the other three times you drive out your way to see a sign out side saying event until...... would be a great idea to add to the website when events are booked so your customers are not wasting th

We came in and the line took forever. There was a 3hr 40 minute wait which was okay because we had other stuff we could do and come back. Came back and were told they would call us. Waited another hour. There is no way to know where you are at in line. The price is high for a fairly short time on the go carts. However, the employee who checked us in was friendly.

Initially, it was fun. That is, until the elite drivers arrived. People that go there A LOT. Nothing at all against them or their skills, honestly. This is the problem: They get put on the track with novices & then they SAY the rule is you can't bump or be otherwise aggressive, but my friend & I both were shoved & bumped numerous times, even when we tried to move out of the way. The staff just shrugged it off, even when I waved my hands on the track for help. As an experienced paramedic, it was INCREDI

Another go kart place that requires you to purchase a "membership" or what they call a license at this one, except this one is 8 dollars instead of 6. And then you have to buy the races at over 25 dollars per person per race. Add 8 more for the membership per person and that makes it too much.

Make sure to reserve races ahead of time. Tracks and carts looked great, but their phone service told me I would be fine to show up on a Saturday night and race, only to be told there was a three hour wait on arrival. I did not choose to wait.

My adult son and husband tried out K1 racing at the new Hilliard location. Only one staff monitoring the races. 12 year olds tall enough can race with adults, except they bump and spin out a lot. Races were not slowed down for spin outs. Bumping racers were not slowed down. Returning home, my son had concussion symptoms including vomiting, dizziness and major headache. Need more staff and safety procedures.

It looks like it could be fun but not worth the visit. After standing in line for an hour we were told it would be a 3 hour wait to race. We got there 5 minutes after it opened and there were only about 30 people in front of us so not sure how it ended up being 3 hours till the track was available. If you could book in advance or at least see the wait time it might help.

Karts were quick, and good condition. F1 style. There is jr karts also. Race results were sent to my phone, very convient.

My biggest issue is the karts. They are a HANDFUL to drive at the limit. It should not take that much force to turn the steering wheel. I only went out for 1 session so I am just assuming they all drive like that. They're brand new. Even my racing gokart is easier to drive.

First time visiting K1 in Columbus. Arrived right when they opened to be told that the entire facility has been rented out for 3.5 hours. I don't understand how K1 doesn't have the ability to include a daily schedule or calendar of events on their website! Until K1 comes up with a solution of how to inform us of what is going on, so we don't waste our time driving there, I will not be back!

Stopped in since u cant make reservations ahead of time and was told it would be a 4 hour wait because they had birthday parties and others waiting. They need to figure out something else for walk ins like birthday parities only certain days and hours and NOT on a Saturday at 4 or 5 pm. Or letting people make reservations online.

Was super fun. I think I found my new obsession. But the wait times were a little long for some races and really quick for others

Went here after going to Full throttle, buckeye raceway, G&J kartway, and on track experience. Was not informed they would be limiting and modifying Kart speed at random throughout the race . Only last 2-3 laps are at full speed. These are the adult races as well. Was informed when I asked when the karts run full speed. Was told I needed to join their club racing which is only 1 day a month. Was informed this was for safety of everyone. All other karting facilities use their karts at full potential for user

You call ahead and they say you can't book ahead. Can you do it online in 2025? Also no. So you ask when they're least busy and they say early afternoon. So you go there then and they tell you they can't get you in until late that evening. So you go home. That's the experience.

Really friendly & professional staff. Karts are really fun for them to be indoor and electric. Tweaks are being done to make them even better. Multilevel track is very fun and technical, pretty much suitable for all skill levels. Very good experience, I will be returning ?????

Fun, but super expensive. You could take your family to cedar point or zoombeezi for the day for the whole day or you could come here for a little while. It'd be the same price.

Very long waits for "arrive and drive", even when not very busy (2hrs). The actual driving experience was excellent ??, enough to get that 4th star. No cafe/food, even though it is advertised.

This is one of the worst places I have ever been my third time going and they're gonna tell me that the wait time is longer than two hours the first time they told me that Saturday is usually booked for events so I went on a weekday around four and they told me a two hour wait my third and last time going I went in as soon as they open and they told me that it was a corporate event going on and I wouldn't be able to until after 1:30 2 o'clock until this moment I have still not been able to drive and I will

Professionals. Good eye on the junior races and a very fun track to drive.

Showed up at open on Saturday morning. No problems at all. What a fantastic track and karts! Will be returning many times!

Mike made the experience 10 times better was very fun my family and I had a blast will be back soon!!!!

Way too long of a wait for the amount of time and size of track. Then Waiting for the race you can play games that take your money and not let you play. Then you can't cash in the tickets anywhere. Recommend to take your money elsewhere. Poor management.

The karts were really fast, safe, and had good tires. It was very fun, worth the price, I would recommend to anybody over 4? 10? (anyone below that has to ride slow karts)

Top Gear Top Tip given to me by a regular visitor this evening: "Ramming the kart in front of you in a braking zone is how you let them know to move over. The workers don't pay attention and won't flag."

Super fast go karts in a very clean facility.

After waiting in line for OVER an hour we got up to book our rides and were told it was going to be another 3 hour wait. I suggest an online booking system so people?s time is not wasted.

Took my team to this, we all had a blast. I highly recommend this place. Good fun for everyone.

Don't pay for an arcade card, half the games just take your money and you have to wait an hour in line to redeem tickets. WAY under staffed causing ridiculous wait times and nobody to fix the games to play while you wait.

It was so clean and fun I really enjoyed their track and how nice the employees are

I HAD SO MUCH FUN.. Babemomma, hosted my b-day here and it was unforgettable ??????

Had a blast Mike was awesome helped show some lines great experience

DONT EVER COME TO THIS PLACE ever since we entered k1 speed the manager named micheal was saying rude things and being a jerk we've been waiting to race for 4 hours and finally when we started racing he kicked all of us for no reason and saying we did stuff that we did not do.

Awesome time, will definitely be back. Staff was awesome and helpful

They don't take reservations, but have ~3 hour wait times when you show up right when they open.

Brand new facility, awesome multilevel track, was a great experience for me and my 14 year old daughter. Good value, we will be back!

Had so much fun cars went really fast. Very nice staff. Would definitely recommend

Super fun for my son. Was first time carting. Great track, carts, and staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun.
