JP's still doing it well after all these years. Our first date here 37 years ago before moving out of state. Returned for our 35th ANNIVERSARY. Dinner was incredible, John treated my wife and I so wonderfully on our anniversary. Maureen (Mo), our server, was excellent and made sure to make our dinner outing special on our day. What a polite and caring young lady( your parents did well)!!! God's willing we will be back next year (Florida)...THANK YOU JP's!!

You get what you pay for. The best shrimp I've had in over 10 years and I'm not kidding. Had the shrimp cocktail ( legit jumbo shrimp ) and shrimp scampi and still can't believe how fresh and tasty it was, much better than 90% of other places I get shrimp from. Owner is very nice and sociable. Service was outstanding. 10/10 rating overall

Located in the back corner of City Island, it is hidden by the restaurant. Let's first of all talk about one thing, this place is pricey. Eating here is not cheap, and they know it considering the warnings littering the entertaining advising visitors to go somewhere else if they want more affordable food. I have been coming to JP's restaurant now for many years, first with my parents and grandparents and now with my friends. My latest visit on June 13, 2024 did not disappoint. Their famous garlic bread is so good you cannot stop eating it even when you order an appetizer and an entree. It's just so delicious! I had the fried calamari as an appetizer and it tasted great. The owner was extremely professional and welcoming, and the food was fresh and delicious. Our overall experience was good, though our waitress definitely lacked professionalism, which took away from the vibe a little. Other than that, I'd still recommend trying this place!

First time going to JP's The food is just phenomenal The crab meat is the best I've ever had. The food is a must everything great. I highly recommend this establishment. Service is very good very hospitable. Best of all when the whole island is jammed JP's is the place to be. The view from outside is beautiful. You can see Orchard beach from the out door seating. FOOD IS ALWAYS FRESH AND WELL SEASONED. Been coming here for years. One of the only restaurants on the island that i do go to. Never thought to leave a review, but I happened to notice that somebody recently left a bad one, and I figure that I can balance that out with a good one. The food is simple and good. Perfectly seasoned and always fresh. Big portions of good food with a restaurant owner that takes pride in his product will keep me coming back so long as he's there.

As we were looking for nearby places to eat we happened across this gem on google. Right on the water so I know the views of the waves during the daytime would be amazing. We had no idea what to get because everything sounded amazing. But when we did get our food, just WOW! The portions are huge and well worth the trip. The owner was nice and they had plenty of seats for large and small parties. I would definitely go back again.

Aside from the ignorance of the owner, the server was amazing, and I didn't expect the pasta portion to be so much. I would like to note that the restroom was rank. It smells like a swamp, dirty fishtank, or marshland. I had to try to hold my breath. I felt like I was on a dirty pirate ship based on the movies I've seen. We stumbled upon JP?s by accident due to lack of parking at a nearby restaurant. It turned out to be a great decision! Their paella for 2 people is big enough for 6, beautifully seasoned and the chef is very generous with the seafood! You get a whole lobster and lots of sea scallops, clams, mussels and shrimp. Highly recommended!

I've been to this restaurant a few years back but wanted to check it out again on a Friday night. We were welcomed by the owner who was very attentive and nice. It was great, the food is amazing. You get your money worth. They serve big plates which basically if your very hungry you will be full. Juicy and overall tasty. I came here about two times,and I want to say the food was decent;however,I won't be coming back due to the fact the waiter,who goes by the name of Angie served me BURNT BREAD TWICE. I mean,if you want to attract people to the restaurant,please treat them with LOVE. She knew she was serving me burnt bread,and by the look on her face,she knew she was wrong. I have been going to JPsfor over 25 years. Same owner, he is very friendly, quality wild caught seafood, always fresh. A bit on the pricey side but very well worth it. The portions are huge. The platter for 2 can feed 4 easily.

Came for a graduation/ birthday dinner. Food is over priced. In the menu on top of each page in big blue letters it says add an additional 5 dollars to the already overly priced food. Ok... So u need to come here! No question, the service was pleasant and caring. The drinks where perfect. The waitress Melissa was amazing. Ok now on to the king crab legs, what else is there to say, the crab was some of the freshest I have eaten. Every bite was a piece of heaven. I literally felt like I was a king eating this. Fresh delicious seafood! A little pricey, but worth it! The servers were friendly and helpful. The garden salad is very old school along with decor, however the water front view, especially during sundown is worth the extra money! They are not skimpy on the alcohol in the mixed drinks. The waitress was kind and attentive. This was my first time coming here and I do like the restaurants aesthetic, very maritime/nautical. If you want real legit sea food. This is the first place to go. Most ppl have no idea what they are consuming. U want real sea food this is the only place to go on the island. I eat here at least 4 days a week. Don't be fooled by any bad reviews or these so called restaurants on the island.

This was my second time visiting JP's. Food is amazing! Decor is very unique. It has a sort of retro vibe to it. Staff is always super friendly. My cousin got a free t-shirt from the owner. This place was empty when we arrived, quickly seated and forgotten about. The menu is overwhelming when you see pricing I think it's a little over the top average plate is going to run you about $30 don't bring your kids unless you expect to spend $40 on each of their plates (Ridiculous) king crab legs are the best deal here though honestly. $75 for that plate but your getting plenty of crab meat. Drinks are over priced and service is really slow .. prob wont return if I do it's for those legs ...

I loved the food. The bread was soo good. You have to make sure you save some room for your food. The music is Marvin Gaye style, which I love. The only thing that I really didn't like was that the lights were very dim.

They took very long to serve us oysters which was the appetizer and when the oysters came they were not fresh they were frozen with ice Which would explain why they took so long.We had to ask the waitress for the horseradish she forgot to serve it. Hard to know where to start.... Loved my Pina Colada and garlic bread, this isn't just good bread, it's special. Stuffed flounder, little clams with bacon bits, scallops, pasta calamari, jumbo shrimp, lobster tails, oysters, and on and on, it was a feast. It all comes quickly too. I was taken here for Father's Day and I wish we went somewhere else. My wife and I were here over 20 years ago when we had our parents meet. The decor is still the same. The AC was on full blast where we were seated. We asked to server if they could turn it down, it never was. Our food got colder by the second and it made our experience here unfavorable. My friends and I went to JP's for my birthday and my dinner was a success. PJ personally came out to greet us and also gave us a complimentary dish and free cake and drinks on the house.
