Kids are always excited to visit john?s incredible pizza place. We all enjoy the buffet and food can sometimes be a bit of a hit or miss with availability of food options but it's nice to have something to eat while the kids have fun with all the rides and games available for them to enjoy! We also at times join the fun in bumper cars or the spinning ride thing! Their are some wait times for the rides but its not a big deal! Overall like any attraction establishment the price is high per person but you do g
We have a great experience at John's Incredible Pizza in Riverside every time we visit on weekends. The service is quick and efficient, with food served promptly. The staff ensures that tables are cleaned after guests finish, and the salad bar and pizza bar are always well-maintained. The Riverside location is definitely better than the Buena Park location, where no staff cleans the tables and food serving is very slow. Highly recommend this location if you are in Riverside.
This place is hot dang! Homage to the chef! Drake had amazing service, Dre too! The food was buss, and the music was boomin! Shawn did a great job clean up in speedy seconds! The rides are funner than 6 flags! I'm coming back in 12 days!
First time here just because I had a dentist appointment and my husband decided to take my daughter there so she wouldn't be bored but after my dentist appointment, I joined them and I cannot believe my eyes. I'm sorry, but this is another level of cool, good prices and just so much better than Chuck E. Cheese.!!! WE LOVED EVERYTHING!!!
My family and I have been coming to this location for many years to celebrate birthdays or just to enjoy an all you can eat pizza buffet! We enjoy the games and food! It's always a great time here with the family. Will continue to be a customer.
My daughter really enjoyed it. And my husband enjoyed the all you can eat buffet. We went on Groupons and got a discount.
Went to my grandson's birthday party there. The employees were very courteous. They helped with the party in an expedient yet friendly manner. The food bar was well stocked and fresh. I saw that the staff would replenish the trays as needed. The only thing that I can comment on is the slushy machine being watery, but of course with the amount of people there, that would be expected. Even so, the staff did explain why. Overall a very good experience.
My wife and I went today and got Blessed with real customer service. We are very very very happy with very delicious food and smiling employee's. Keep up the real deal and making my wife and I very happy with the food and service. We will be back again. Tech Richard told us about this place. Keep it up Mr.Richard
This place can be a zoo on Saturdays. This is expected as everyone is having a birthday party for their kids here. I love that you can still have a birthday party without using their private party rooms. They have 3 separate themed rooms that you can dine in. One of the rooms has a cabin theme. It is much quieter. The private party rooms are on the other side where the games and rides are. When I first came into the building around 11:15a.m. it was super quiet. This is truly the best time to come! Not
I booked a last minute party in today, 5/25/25 to celebrate my daughter's baptism. The staff was very helpful. They had less than 1 hour to set up a party room and find a host to accommodate my party, they delivered. I truly appreciate the stuff and store manager for helping me out on such a short notice.
The place was clean and managed well. Staff was attentive to keeping the dishes picked up and making tables available. Food was average, but there's a variety of food that is very kid friendly (we did find ourselves waiting on the pizzas to be put out since it runs out fast). The game room is a combination of arcades and rides, so the kids have plenty of options to entertain themselves.
Had a birthday party for my two sons here. The staff was very friendly, our party host was great and there was another employee that made balloon swords for the kids. The buffet is nice, everyone was able to find something they liked. There was surprisingly a lot of choices of games and rides. Both my seven year old and my fourteen year old ( that thinks he's too cool for anything) had a blast. I was very happy. The single con I can think of is that it is pricey. The only reason we could afford to have a pa
1st time here and I'll definitely be back. Great environment and fun activities along with their selection of pizza. I feel was good not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. Plenty of fun games for the kids to do as well. The pricing i felt was okay. Definitely waiting for a coupon for next visit. The kids loved it and everyone had a great time. I would definitely recommend coming if you have kids. There's plenty to do after eating all the pizza and pasta you want.
We arrived about 3, left about 7pm. Everything was fine... Mostly no issues.... except that darn ice cream machine. I think it would be a smart idea to station a worker near by.... Because why are children allowed to make the ice cream machine flood and spill over... and the ice cream just left there dripping all over the floor... ? And in 4 hours not one worker took the time to even notice it or rectify the behavior. Also, All the kids we invited woke up the next morning really sick. Eyes Swollen shut, i
The food is decent. Not many options, and real cheap buffet. The kids liked the games. Service was actually good at this one. They kept coming and taking used playes faster than we could push them to thw side.
The first time I came here was a year ago and it was pretty good. There was a wide variety of food and I thought the price was great for a buffet. Now my second time back was not so good. There was very limited food and there were no cups available. I had a party package booked and the room was very small and the host could have had a better attitude but the package was very affordable so I can't complain about that. All in all, the food wasn't good that day.
My kids always have a great time here but please wipe down the equipment more often since people eat here and get things greased up at times and I rarely have very see workers, clean up the equipment, and I've been coming for years.
Is great place to pig out eating pizza, fried chicken, baked potatoes, pasta, salads, and chicken pot pie!!! At times the food is lacking and the areas are dirty but that happens at buffets we turn into pigs. Also, you have a choice between a few areas, and once the food is done, the kids can go have fun in the arcades, they even have bumper cars and a twisty hellish fun ride. The new manager is very accommodating and keeps everyone excited about working.
I've been going here for years since they opened. I don't go very often. It's an okay place the arcade games are fun. Their food was really good around the time they first opened, but the food quality has gone down significantly, not trying to trash the place. Just want to leave this comment in hopes to see some improvement in the food. A lot of the food lacks flavor and some foods are not properly cooked
WARNING: only about half the machines there actually worked, and even less if you could reasonably expect them to not steal credits. It's an ok place if the kids want to go there, but expect it to quickly devolve into a mess held together by bubble gum and duct tape if the crowd picks up. Games and machines not working, messes everywhere, long lines while they keep running out of food and plates.... But their fried chicken is surprisingly on point
Excellent place for the whole family to eat and play! Good food, clean place, and very fun games. The only detail is that there were a few games that were down and some food options unavailable.
Although I read the reviews and can confirm that about 10 of the games were not working due to "supply issues with the manufacturer," and the day I went, the Lazer Tag was closed, but the Groupon I purchased included two hours of unlimited green games (NOT the red games that award tickets) and rides, so it was great. We kept going on the bumper cars and had so much fun. The spinning ride in the middle was good, too. If we had more time, we might have checked out the small bowling alley, but we were playing
The kids had fun playing, but a lot of the food was very bland. (This review was 2 years ago 3 stars) This is today... (changed to 1 star) I changed my stars to 1 because this location is nasty and very dirty. The food was not fresh, and all the tables were filthy. We had to clean our table in the eating room, and when we transitioned to the game room, the tables and chairs were the filthiest. We had to clean our table and chairs with lysol wipes. The games and rides were dirty, too. See photos. And the p
My husband and I took our two babies both under 3. They were so extremely excited walking into Johns pizza! We purchased everything and wound up spending almost 100$ on food and tickets. As we walk in to find a place for us to sit at, all of the tables were were extremely disgusting, and the floors were so gross as well. I would like an email address that I can send these photos I took of how dirty they were. After finally scavenging for a place to sit, I had to use the restroom and it was also disgusting.
This place was very disappointing this time visit. The food buffet area was very dirty. The quantity of food was limited, I asked about spaghetti refill and they said it was late and there would be no refills. The salad are was empty. Tables were dirty and had the dining room areas had an odd odor. The dessert area was also empty. We should be told at the door that past 7 pm food is limited to almost having no food choices. Restroom were dirty and no hand soap available. I'm scared to see how the kitchen ?
They have a mini bowling alley which is cool
Wow??? been here more than 4 times and can't say enough great things about JIP!! Thanks Team for hosting our Children's field trip. The place was immaculate. The food was wonderful. Especially the Pizza and the fresh and stocked up salad bar. Bummer that you had run out of ice cream cones and some of the games were missing the balls that belong to them. That said... Your Customer Service was exceptional ??!! Thanks again for making our kids trip memorable!! GOD Bless!!!
We went around 1:30pm. There were just a couple of other people there. My daughter and 4 year old great grandaughter were with me. We greeted as soon as we went in by very friendly staff. I wish I had gotten their names. The young lady helped us get our package that included the buffet, rides and games. I have been here before but it's been awhile. The buffet was not as great as it was and there weren't as many choices and unfortunately it wasn't as good. But we enjoyed having lunch and the cheese pi
I really like this place. I always go for the peanut butter pizza and the loaded potato pizza. My kids like the spaghetti and of course the desserts and Icee. The arcade is fun and I really like that the rides are the same currency as the games. Some places have you buy separate ride tokens but John's Incredible Pizza keeps it simple. We have had issues with games like basketballs getting jammed, the goldfish game not giving any ping-pong balls, and the bowling game not having a bowling ball. We just go to
This was my first time at Johns Incredible Pizza and I am hooked. For the price, the food is pretty good. It's an all you can eat buffet style joint for $11.99 between 11am-2pm, don't expect the Midas touch. The pizza is good, pasta is alright, salad bar is great, fried chicken good and the desserts are fantastic. That's just the food! They also have rides for children, arcade games and a ticket redemption spot for decent prizes. Overall, I found myself having a GREAT return on investment!
Worst experience ever! Pictures are worth a thousands words! Managers don't seem to care for this facility. It wasn't until I started taking pictures that they cared to come out sand try to clean up something. Only person that was helpful was a guy at the ticket/toy stand. Forgot to get names but a young lady working there was allowing other children to get to the counter and trade in tickets with out minding the people in line but girl was quick to tell my son to get back in line after handing her a toy an
I went on a Sunday around noon and the buffet was busy so the food was fresh . The potato soup and baked potato were good.
Pizza is nice and hot. It was my first time experiencing the chicken fettuccine pizza. All you can eat buffet. Lots of games for the kids to play. There's no age limit to the games. And the staff are quick on their feet. As soon as someone gets up from eating, the staff is there to clean up. The place is immaculate. Definitely great for birthday parties. My family will be back.
Games are fun for kids. Buffet is 6/10. If there were some protien choices for example chicken then i would say buffet would be rated 10/10. Overall, pizza is okay and i like that they have a salad bar.
Brought my family here for my daughter?s birthday and spent over $100. There wasn't a lot of food out (we came in at 6pm on a Tuesday) and much of the food in the salad bar was either empty or cross contaminated with other items. Definitely not a place for vegetarians. Also, half of the rides were down (bowling, bumper cars, air incredible and laser tag) as were many of the games. There is a button on the rides to (presumably) call an attendant over but no one ever came. We left before we could spend the $2
The place is a complete rip off! I was there for a birthday party only. Walk in the door wasn't greeted, I was asked cash or credit card? Confused I said what? Cash or credit? For what? I'm here for a birthday party. Ok sir I understand that but you pay here, it's all you can eat with drinks. Excluding alcohol. So I step up to a kiosk touch the screen main menu appears reading. Adults $35.00 kids$18.00 cash cards for games $35.00 or less. My party of 4 ends up being $157.00 And don't get me wrong I'm no
The employees on the food side are always happy and nice but on the game side the employees are always grumpy and rude every time we go. It seems more like a company problem than a particular employee problem.
I don't even know where to start. The food was sparse PLUS this place is supposed to be for kids and they didn't even have chicken nuggets or fries! The ice cream machine broke down and the mats by the drink station were so sticky that my sandal stuck to it and came off my foot! Then a lot of the games my kids wanted to play were out of order and some of them we didn't know it didn't work properly until after we swiped our play card and it took our points. Idk, it was not the best and idk if I would go agai
$20 buffet and they only have 3 slices of pizza . Almost every other tray had no food. They had no fried chicken. I feel like I just got robbed ?? . I spent 100 in buffet entries and seven 11 pizza is 10 times better . Not worth it. This place is a scam. Chucky cheese ?? is way better. Stay away.
This is my first visit to Johns incredible Pizza and probably my last. The pictures I'm posting are of most of the games that do not work. I was disappointed to the point were I realized I should have token my children to Chuck E Cheese . This is an all you can eat buffet style but there was not enough food, we waited 20 minute to get a few slices of pizza then another 10 minute for two chicken drumsticks. I hope they make changes soon.
Great staff good food and an amazing time for my kiddos!!! Only thing is I wish they kept up with their games a bit better overall I will recommend to anyone who is looking to have a great family time
Don't go there. Don't waste your money. The food is the same it's good for what you pay for it. But I counted 38 machines where out of order, some took my credit, and broken. Not all the rides where open. This company is only about taking costumer's money and not providing the service. Shame on you. Only time they will change is to report them to the News stations so they start changing things around.
I was worried about going here because of all the negative ratings on Groupon but everything went well. The food was alright, some were a hit and miss. Kids had a lot of fun so it was worth it.
Friendly, helpful employees. Fresh, delicious pizza. Excellent salad bar and breadsticks. Dining area and bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking. Bumper cars were fun! Thank you!!
Its always a fun place to visit, food is okay, lots of pizza choices. Different themed rooms to dine in, games and rides. Never disappointed when I visit. No photos today.
Average cafeteria style food, no more fried chicken, but they replaced them with chicken nuggets that were ok. My kids ate them. The best thing is the salad bar, I think. The only issue is that the trays where they serve the food are too small. The trays barely hold any food. So by the time they put fresh food out, it's gone after just 2 people. I know it's the strategy to maximize profit, but perhaps a little bigger trays people might not complian.
It's always fun for my kids. I'm a little bummed because during my last few visits, I haven't seen them serve any chicken. Their chicken was amazing!
Paid $435 for my family of 6 Including a Party Room, I paid online, when we arrived it was no one in line but the lady helping us seemed to not understand how to process us in took 20mins of standing there before we were taken to our room, we were told we had a host but I never met our host. We had a private room with no trash can to rid of our trash. We weren't told anything so I later found out someone is supposed to pick up the trash and plates for us. This Location was very poor with Customer Service as
This place is DEAD. The food here is TRASH. Half of the arcades are not operating. The other half are most likely going to take your money and not do anything. I hit a jackpot on one of the games and it gave me 17 tickets instead of 1000. My sister complained as well as my cousin. My cousin hit a 200 jackpot on a spinning wheel and instead did not get the 200. I only liked the potatoe soup. So much food was going to East because of how poorely mad they were. The place is a mess. Disorganized. And it stinks
Nice and clean, arcade was fun, but now that arcades do cards and no actual tickets and quarters it's far less of an exciting experience then when I was a kid, but it's ok. Food was terrible.
Spend $$$$ for 4 ppl for nothing. The buffet that they had was terrible. They didn't had enough food. All i eat salad and like 2 slides of pizza and a drink. Buffet lines were empty.
Came in for a birthday party, immediately got overstimulated by the amount of people blocking the walkway food was actually pretty good especially the bread sticks and pasta ! Dessert machine looked nastyyy and a kids deadass threw up by the food area , most games were broken or out of order we mainly just used our card to take photos! Location was dirty tbhh I wouldn't pay to come here againn
Food is a 3 star. The pizza is not incredible at best it's good. All the other food is simply horrible. It looks like most of the food comes out of a can or bag. As a family of 3, we paid 80 dollars for pizza and some games. I would only come back if my child would like to come again.
Took my son for his birthday yesterday, and the food was way different from before !! Before they had really good food . They had nothing to eat but nasty ass baked potatoes, they had no fried chicken or baked chicken no more !! They had to more fish! The pizza taste worst then lil ceasers , the sweeets area didn't have nothing but some choc cake ! If I could give this place 0 stars I would ! Also they raised the price to come in , atleast have good food if you're going to raise the price !! All in all I f
I've been to this restaurant a few times but I must admit this last visit I was somewhat disappointed. It might be that they are short handed and the pandemic is probably to blame. None the less, the salad bar was empty most of the time. They could not keep up with demand. At times, there was a wait for pizza. There was a wait for drink cups and they ran out of forks. It seemed that staff were working multiple stations. A lot of their video games were turned off. Pizza was really good once you were able
Great place to eat and enjoy family time with your kids. We enjoyed every minute there. Our nephew and grand daughter were in heaven being there. Great food and good choices to pick. Only bad thing was that they had jalapenos on most of the pizzas there. Me and my grand daughter are allergic to jalapenos. Could please change the pizza menus. Other than that it was an awesome place for our grandkids and us to spend some quality time with family. The rides were awesome ????. And the environment was great. Eve
Dra in the front was exceptional!! She worked miracles for me for the evil kiosk.. great atmosphere.
The thin crust pizza was really good, and the salad bar was delicious. I also enjoyed the chicken nuggets and beverage bar.
We had a birthday party here. All of the kids loved it. The adults loved it too. The host was very helpful and friendly. They really did go above and beyond to make the party special. I highly recommend taking your kids here for a treat.
Scammy. You pay the price based on the expected standard, however once you get in there, half of the games don't work and they don't have signs indicating they're out of order because the staff doesn't care enough to prevent the next kid from spending their credits on it. I guess they feel it makes more sense to just be continuously tied up with tending to customers who keep trying to access these machines and now need a credit refund (good luck with that btw, they will make you waste significant time waiti
Other than having to drive 1 1/2 hrs to get there. It's a great place to take the kids.
Where should I start. The buffet was like at 40%, when I say that they didn't even have many pizzas out or much selection of pizza like before. I'm Sorry for management because they are very under staff here. I'm sorry but I've been here a few times over the years and this is the first time this place has let me down with the rides and arcades mostly falling apart, broken, and just not the place I would like my kids to remember. I'm sorry but I don't think I will be returning any more. Grabbed a few pics of
My only real complaint was that the food area was really messy when I first arrived, and my kid didn't have their name on the birthday plaque thing. Other than that, the food was better than expected, all the rides worked, my party host Alexa was sweet, and there's plenty of seating if you come with a large party
I visited this place right at lunch time and it was not crowded whatsoever. Everything was clean, the food was very appetizing. This establishment is beautiful.
Food is super terrible not worth how expensive it is. They also have no one at the exit doors watching out in case a child goes out or someone tries leaving with them they should be more cautious there's alot of kids playing alone.
I decided to take my grandkids here for the first time.. And we were a little disappointed .. The food was ran through... The plates that was supposed to be clean still had food particles on them... The floors were filthy... I had to ask staff to remove our used plates as we were done eating...My grandkids didn't get a chance to try the ice cream because the machine was filled with wasted ice cream... The bathroom was very unsanitary i decided not to use the facility after seeing how unsanitary it was... Bu
We've gone twice food was pretty decent considering it's a all you can ear buffet but all in all I feel like games should be a little cheaper per game but not bad of a place
I went to pick up my child that is a minor. I went and told them hi I'm here to pick up my son from a birthday party event and they told me that I couldn't go in unless I paid for my entrance and I told them that I wasn't going to stay that I was just going to find him and leave and I told them they could go with me and they said no the only way I can go in to pick up my son from that event is if I paid. We argued back and forth cuz i said I wasn't staying at the event. I had called my friend but they weren
There was a party host there she was super personable and helpful I think her name aniyah she was absolutely the best. But one thing I will say is this company sucks when it comes to hiring people as if this place is so 5 star. Y?all food look old. Y?all food ain?t good. And y?all all have an attitude but aniyah. She was the best employee I came across too be honest if I was to ever, which I highly don't , come back I would personally only ask for her. She gets a 5 star from me but this ESTABLISHMENT 0 STAR
We had not visited John?s Incredible Pizza venue since before COVID-19, and I suppose we just forgot about it and similar places. I brought a one-year-old, a three-year-old, and a five-year-old, and they had an absolute blast - me too! We arrived at 2:30 PM on a weekday, and they played for hours. The selection of arcade games is fantastic and kept them thoroughly engaged. The rides were also amazing, and the kids absolutely adored them. We enjoyed ice cream twice, along with some pizza and drinks. The kid
When we first arrived we waited about 20 minutes to get the card and none of the employees helped us. And when we finally got our game card we tried to find a table and they were all sticky and not cleaned. Half the food wasn't stocked and was stale. The floors were sticky and cups all over and ice cream was everywhere. Some of the VR games were shut down with error screens and the touch screen games were filthy. Long story short the place is a mess and I don't recommend coming here it was a horrible experi
Booger fingers! Seriously though, this place is a cesspool of filth. So many little kids just grabbing the food with bare hands after being in their noses. I was here several years ago and I saw a kid tasting all of the ice cream by putting a finger on the dispenser output and into her mouth. One by one, she tasted each, but not after that finger visited her tongue. Well, my wife saw that SAME exact thing again last night! This time with the slushee machine. What are the chances we'd see it back to back,
Unfortunate experience with very arrogant staffs. I entered around 15:30 with my family, had to go out bring something from my car, and they made it a big deal despite they still remember me.
My 8 year old loves it here! She is able to grab a tray and plate and serve herself. The staff is on their game, helping at check-in, clearing plates, and communicating.
Awsome, salad was fresh , soup and pasta excellent, chicken and mashed potatoes above average, pizza could have used more toppings lol more like neo pizza. Game cards worked o.k. and since we have a membership and the bonuses were very helpful
I was smart enough to go b4 the 8.99$ lunch special ended which included myself and 3 teens, along with 3 $30 game cards it came out to nearly $140. Why don't kids eat, they all had a small plate each then went to play 2 hours, so I was forced to eat 5 plates. The pizza isn't bad but it isn't great. The salad bar is nice and nice drinks and desserts. But it's all you can eat so you can expect that with the taste of the food, quantity over quality.
Enjoyed my visit, kids had lots of fun. Worker Elaina was very helpful and assisted us from the moment we arrived. She made sure we were taken care!
Great food and killer lemonade Icee, it's a buffet if you didn't know. The meat sauce for the spaghetti or whatever you want to put it on is amazing. The price is good too
Sort of an indoor amusement park with all you can eat pizza. I recently found a bunch of unused cards and took my grown child for some fun.
We love coming here with the kids. We have birthdays here or we just go just to go. Good food, clean, lots of games and friendly staff.
Really neat place. All you can eat buffet. Different rooms you can set to set the vibe. Games and rides galore. Bowling alley and bumper cars ?? ??
3 stars because the kids love the fun zone, but the food could not be worse. For a place with "pizza" in their name, the pizza is garbage.
Let me start by saying food is not good at all some pizzas are decent but the rest of the food is not good... IN ORDER TO COME IN AND ENJOY THE GAMES YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR BUFFET.. Drinks are not included in buffet price..Games are similar to Chuck E Cheese but more expensive, except for the roller coaster rides which is only 2 of them over all 1st time and last time here is not worth it..
Pros: great selection of games, a pretty wide variety of food and it's all you can eat, including the slushies. The kids absolutely love. Cons: very understaffed . A lot of the games don't work properly and eat your credits and then when you eventually find somebody to help they don't give them all back We also paid for the glow in the dark party package and it said that it would include things to draw on the paper table but there wasn't anything ato draw only the designs they already made, and so the kids
I love coming here, the food is decent and mostly fresh. Always clean and many people working hard trying the best to have everything in order. The only reason why not 5 stars is because the coffee is nasty lol too strong.
The food is good. The rooms are some what clean . Bathrooms where ok but could be better for the men's. As for the women's my wife said it was dirty . And the games . Half of the arcades are either broken or not working correctly. Gun games the Aim are way off not even worth playing. They really need to get someone to recalibrate the games . Even on some of the games the joystick don't work . Like I said they need someone to do maintenance on the games and get them back working and recalibrated. The food ar
Big play area. Kids had fun . Drove an hr to get there celebrating birthday parties is always fun there.
They need to get a hold of a system for making sure the food is always stocked on the buffet there was a lot of mess holes hardly stalking if it was stalked it would take a while for it to be stalked with an item they could do a little bit better but other than that the service was good
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
