Many highlight great trade-in values and helpful service. However, a few criticize poor customer service, rude staff, or occasional issues with product quality. Customer Reviews

Great place with a very nice staff. Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X accessories and games but also an awesome selection of games, consoles, accessories, books and many others RETRO gaming ?????

Had a great experience as I was passing through town! So glad I stopped that i picked up an NES and a bunch of games. Everything works flawlessly! Thank you for your hard efforts keeping vintage and current gaming alive!!

Not bad. They have a lot of old games and consoles going back to the early 80s. Lots of collectors stuff. Game cheat magazines and manuals. Good collection of Nintendo games, PS1-4, Xbox, you name it they have it. Place stinks of smoke really bad but I don't go there to enjoy the aroma. I'm there to scout out childhood memories. I just purchased yesterday an untested PS2 for 10 bucks.??

Best trade in and cash prices I've seen in a while. Huge selection of retro video games from most consoles if not all of them. They were really helpful and also know what they're talking about. They were nice enough to help me over the phone so I could estimate if the drive was worth it. Definitely go here for your gaming needs!

Great game store with very friendly staff, good inventory, and awesome layout. Does smell like smoke but that wasn't an issue for me.

Best gaming store around! I live 50 mins away and it's well worth my drive every time I go. They have all kinds of retro consoles and games. They even have the new generation consoles too as well as many collectibles. Every time I've been there, the owner and staff have been super kind and helpful. Don't waste your time with Lamestop aka Gamestop.

Great employees and great shop the lady that checked me out was professional and very fair on my game trade in I loved my experience, not picky like red fox gaming and twice the experience! If you like retros and even new gens! Love it.

Infinity gaming has a friendly environment with cool staff who will help you out. The game selection is pretty good and the prices are great. The place has a heavy smoke smell but it hasn't stuck to anything I've bought so no need to worry. 5 stars

A pretty darn good retro game store. I'm shocked that two great ones are so close by to each other (This one and Red Fox). I think both complement each other nicely. Infinity has a lot more consoles in stock and more games from before the dawn of the millennium, whereas Red Fox has a lot more that are from the years of 2001 to now. Both fill their own niche and have great prices. Red Fox might be a tad more expensive than Infinity, but both are still miles better than trying to find a decent price on eBay.

Excellent place for video games and funko pops

These guys are great owner is very knowledgeable and helps you with anything you need best prices around for gaming they don't always have exactly what You're looking for which is understandable but you're guaranteed to find something you like for a great deal never had a bad experience with any of my visits

Very cheep Xbox games and we where in and out fast

Amazing store such a large selection and i like how the store is set up it has a very nice homely feeling. In my opinion much better than red fox gaming , theres a bigger selection here, the games themselves are in way better condition and the prices are better. This shop is perfect for serious collectors!

This place is ideal for those who love gaming. Both new and retro options available. As well as memorabilia. The owners and staff are fair on pricing and friendly in nature. Buy, sell, and trade with ease. Highly recommended.

Huge variety of games and systems. Great prices and they give the most money for selling your old games and systems than any other game store in this area. Very friendly staff and very knowledgeable on the games and systems. I do a lot of business here and will continue to buy/sell with them. I definitely recommend checking them out. 10/10

Complete waste of my time. Stick to digital game stores and save your gas. If you're looking to trade something in I'd call first. Even though website says they accept all consoles they apparently don't. Wasted my time and gas trying to bring in an Xbox S they wouldn't take. Shoulda updated the damn website to say what you will and won't take.

Great selection of games, for many consoles including Xbox, Xbox 360, playstation 1, 2, 3 and 4, super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Wii and all Nintendo hand held consoles. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They gave me a below cost price on 3 games that aren't what you'd consider cheap. All the games I got where complete in box, and in excellent condition when it came to scratches on the discs. I haven't sold anything there so I can't comment on trade in prices, but I was so impressed I

The best place in Hickory to get your retro and new video games, hands down! They have the cheapest prices and give you the most for your trade ins!

This place is great for reasonable prices and an excellent selection. The customer service can't be beat. At Christmas, they did a free drawing and my son won a Star Wars Lego set. All 3 of my sons love Infinity Gaming. Big selection!!!

Great place! Competitive prices and they are very picky about their games. Every game I have bought has been scratch free and has always worked. Better yet they guarantee everything. Love this place and it's the only gaming/comics store I will shop. They are the best!

The place smells of tobacco, but other than that amazing collection. They had games for pretty much any system I could imagine, and all for decent prices. The tobacco smell does not stick to products, I've bought two games from here, and none of them have picked up the stench.

Best video game store in the hickory area for a decent distance will have highest selection and knowledge staff when at least requested owner will help you however he can if is there.

Friendly, knowledge staff. Plenty of product (quantity and variety) for game systems of any age. The prices are set quite competitively with other local game shops. Best of all, every game I've gotten from them works with no problems.

I had a great experience there. The salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful and courteous and I'll definitely be back. Great prices and a cool selection as well. No more GameStop for me

Its a very nice place, a good layout, good selection of games from very old to brand new games and consoles. Only complaint I can have is the placement of the store. If you're driving on the wrong side of the road, you have to make a u-turn because of the median in the road, and its in the back of another store, Gold King. Also, if you call their number, the Gold King always picks up first snd you have to ask for infinity gaming, and their closing time isnt guaranteed because if the Gold King decides to clo

They have awesome stuff in here but the owner can't stop talking like it took us 30 minutes just to check out because he couldn't stop talking to people in the store. He's super passionate about gaming and he definitely can answer any questions about games!

Great selection of older games you cannot find much anymore. They have a museum type section that has some extreme rare items my son and I drooled over for a good bit. The business is in Tat Lab's old building combined with Gold King. GPS had a hard time getting me there bc of the store front location. I would maybe search Gold King's address for more accurate directions.

Great place. Has every gaming system available for sale as well as games for every system. I got 3 ps3 games for $30. One was brand new the other 2 were used. The service was amazing. The gentleman that helped me was very polite and answered all my questions.

This place is amazing.. Not only are they friendly, they're very informative.. The prices can't be beat!! They make GameSpot look like a joke.

Everyone that I've encountered there has been knowledgeable. It's a small store, oddly laid out, but if you're looking for old school games and game systems you can't beat their selection nor their prices! Plus they guarantee everything they sell!

The woman who worked there, when I went with my sons, was very kind, helpful, and my entire experience there was just awesome! Plenty of retro games and systems there... nearly anything you could ask for was there... AND THE PRICES ARE EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE. You're not gonna find better.

This is a great game store.

Love this place. come in here all the time. trade my games in and buy "new ones" great guys that work in the store. all very friendly. have really gotten to know and associate with every time I'm here.

Moderately decent selection of retro games, depending on what system you own, and what you're looking for. It'd be really nice if the guy there would just simply help you with what you need, instead of talking your head off about everyone else's life story.

I have made a ton of my major buys here. My ps4 then my ps4 pro. Me and my wife bought Ds consoles and multiple games here. Extremely fair prices and a ton of great titles and consoles available. CHECK THEM OUT.

I'd recommend going to Redfox before you go here, it's pretty close. The staff at Infinity are (in my experience) rude, off-putting, and don't seem to care. The trade values are almost as bad as GameStop and you'd be much better off trading to Redfox. Infinity also is very cramped. They have a decent selection of games but many are too pricy for what they are. Just go to Redfox

Great and informative people. My son LOVES this place. Go check em out, u will b surprised at how much they have to offer and the wide range of variety!

Probably the best place locally to check first for that niche game title you've been trying to hunt down for a good while. The pricing is impeccable, and the employees all the way to the top have nothing but the utmost respect for consumer.

Awesome place to get your gaming needs. Lots of selection. Old and new systems. Always helpful. Check em out. Highly recommended.

Always a great place to go to find classic games consoles and gaming utilities some of the nicest and understanding staff and great environment as a whole if you havent went I definitely suggest it

Great gaming store the employees help find whatever you need love this store

Great deals. Great service. Great people! One of the last few awesome retro game stores in Western North Carolina.

Great friendly staff very knowledgeable about anything gaming a must go place if you are a gamer ??

Great prices and amazing customer service, it is great to support local business and get some great games while you're at it.

My opinion one of the best places to find retro games and consoles and a very friendly staff.

Great selection of old and new games, consoles, and everything else you need at really great prices

Owner went above and beyond to find a Skylander for my son's game.

Super friendly service and awesome collection. Everything I've bought so far works without question

Rather poor selection in a run down old building with a pawn shop. I've heard good things but I missed the appeal

The dude inside knows what he's talking about and is very honest with prices. Impressive selection and quality control.

When possible I prefer to support this local business instead of just buying used games on eBay, if you're reading this review then you should too.

Good people all around I for sure recommend checking out the store !! Lots of old gems

This place knows their games & systems. Excellent customer service & support. I will now be a regular customer!

Very friendly and generous with trade in values. Great variety in game selection.

The woman who works there knows nothing of value when it comes to games and accessories, usually Ron or Mike buys what ever I bring in but this time she didn't want anything that I had and it was PS4 games.

A great place to revisit the good old days. They have everything vintage and new stuff too. Lots of rare stuff that is hard to find.

Awesome selection of vintage games and accessories!

Place smelled like smoke and the lady staff member rushed us out. Not a pleasant place to visit don't waste your time here.

Store manager and staff are nothing but complete crooks, sold me a busted PlayStation 3 that wouldn't if start a game.

Great store and the prices were surprisingly good. Will visit again.

Best prices around. Best trade values compared to other companies in the area

Good people and you're not gonna find better prices on items then here

Good prices, selection and staff. Would recommend to friends

Knowledgeable and friendly, great selection of older consoles and games

Infinity Gaming is great place for gamers for any generation, they got it all and got what you need

Awesome. Helpful and had a lot of stuff I was not expecting to even see very happy and will be back.

Got every vintage game ever to imagine. The costumer service is fantastic

It was a good place to play games. It is good for all ages.

Staff ignores you. Was in there for 20 minutes ringing the bell and calling for someone. Everyone ignored me. They ignored their phones as well.

Small but packed with retro games. Got a few good deals here

Classic and up to date video/ console games. Love their rare selection

Awesome selection, great prices and amazing staff.

My favorite game store in Hickory, amazing game/console selection

No matter how rare a game is, chances are they have it at a very good price. Highly recommend Infinity Gaming.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
