We has lots of fun here. We went on a Sunday, and it wasn't too crowded. Clean and modern, good family fun. The 'Pinball Machine Museum' is exceptional. There's about 30 vintage pinball machines in great condition eagerly awaiting your dirty quarters. This would be a good place for a birthday party or a date. The staff was very nice. Highly recommended.
We had the best experience for our 6 year-old grandson?s birthday at Mr. B.?s Game Room! Located adjacent to Imperial Lanes, this is a brand new game room completed in September of last year. All the games in there are high-end quality. There's even bowling lanes with smaller sized bowling balls for the kids. The room is spotless and very well maintained. Pizza and salad, delivered from Sorrento?s, which is also located in the bowling alley, was superb. And for the adults, there's a full-size bar in th
Best experience and lots of fun at Imperial Lanes! We celebrated our grandson's 4th birthday! It's clean and spacious! They make bowling easy for the kids! Mr B's Game Room was the ultimate in added entertainment! Fun for kids and adults! The staff excels in customer service making sure our experience is fun and memorable! Thank you Imperial Lanes for the great memories! We can't wait to come back!
To me, I think this is a good place to chill relax because on Sunday before 4 p.m, It is not crowded and simple to enjoy your day. They do have good lanes, staff are helpful, easy to talk to, bartender, she is pretty chill. I recommend this place to go bowling every Sunday
Going down in overall quality. The staff used to be extremely friendly and welcoming. In the past few weeks the staff on Fridays have just been downright miserable and dysfunctional. The increased security guards, and the searching of bags really dissuades me from returning. The new woman working security got extremely hostile when I told her to have a nice weekend. They need to do better if they want to be better.
My large group decided to go bowling on a Saturday evening and Imperial Lanes was a good choice (minus the shoe situation). I didn't like the fact that they make you give them one of your shoes as collateral for the bowling shoes. I've never experienced that! When we picked our shoes up, they had thrown them all into a bin?so your shoe will be smashed and dirtied by other shoes. This place is huge and has its own bar and food area. The pricing was reasonable IF you bowl for 2 hours. The 1 hour rate was not
Ryan the security guard is "Absolutely Amazing". He made Granny and our Birthday Party feel safe. He went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed Bowling. We will back because of his "Excellent Service". Please compensate him for all of his hard work.
Imperial Lanes is well maintained and had great options on loaner bowling Balls with various thumb-hole sizes / weights. The lanes didn't have any issues for new bowling balls etc. (I've heard of some lanes being equal to bowling on concrete) Ended up figuring out my perfect combo here and bowled my best game yet! The staff was friendly and amenities were plentiful. The arcade was an interesting addition that seemed to have something for everyone present but I'm a bit of an arcade geek so I could deep div
Staff at the front desk is very nice. They have 80 lanes, so there is a lot to maintain. My equipment takes a beating at this house. Scratch to the ball surface, and the pin cushion on some lanes leaves a black sticky substance on the ball that is difficult to remove. Some of the score projects show the scores so dark they are very hard to read. We bowl with a lot of nice folks, so Bowling here works out.
If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This is hands down the worst bowling alley I've ever stepped foot in. First off, the lanes were warped like they've survived an earthquake, making every ball either veer into the gutter or ricochet like a bad carnival game. The rental shoes smelled like they had been marinated in sweat and despair since 1992, and the selection was so bad I had to choose between a pair two sizes too small or ones that looked like they'd been chewed by a dog. The staff? Comp
Took my daughter and church family bowling and had a blast. I recommend this bowling alley for sure, staff was very nice and friendly. Going to take the whole family next time
Easily the best bowling alley in the area, very well-kept, new interior and additions to the bowling alley. Staff and security were incredibly cool and helpful. Would absolutely recommend, 10/10. We happened to meet the owner, Joe, outside and had a great conversation with him as well. Good guy, down to earth and we could tell he genuinely just wanted to make sure everyone was having a good and safe time. I haven't had a good experience bowling since 2013 at least. If you're looking to have a fun time wit
March 2024 - came here for a school event and the event was run very well. Kids said the pizza from Sorento was very good. We ordered some fries and chicken and it was good. A lot of lanes but the only issue I had was if someone comes on a scooter there is no ramp for an entrance. Overall the place was clean and the staff was helpful.
We had the BEST time! I celebrated my twin boys 10th bday there and it was a really great experience! Very accommodating and listened to my needs. Plus, this is my go to bowling alley when we have a family bowling night. 10/10 recommend
Me and my family likes to play bowling at this place. You can order food and drinks inside. We usually like to get pizza, soda and beer. It's a fun place for family and friends to play together. Different lights during the day and night. If you like the neon glowing lights then play at night. Plenty of lanes for everyone. We got a big discount while celebrating Father's Day here. It was awesome! We will be coming back to this place. Always have fun! ??????????
Everybody here is super friendly and it's what you expect from a bowling alley. However, Google has it wrong. They open at 11:00 a.m. not 10 am
My daughter took 1st place in the LCN Ladies Singles for JV. She bowls for Lake Shore High School. It was a very long day but staff was friendly and the place was clean. They sure do know how to hold events at this establishment! We will be back.... had a ton of fun
One of the few REAL bowling alleys left around. Great management and wait staff. I have been bowling for over 40 years and just wonderful place to call my bowling home. Thanks and keep up the great management.
From casual bowling with the family early in the day, to having a fun night out with friends, this place offers it all. This lane has been a staple of the area for quite some time now and there's no secret why. The girl at the front desk is friendly, the bar staff is welcoming, and the facility is clean. This is my favorite place to bowl in the area!!
I decided to surprise my kids with bowling the day after Christmas. Paid for us to bowl and after we set up our lane we learned our lane didn't have bumpers. We tried getting a new lane and we were told that the only bumper lanes left were reserved for 2 parties that were coming in. The only options we were given were to get a refund or they would give us a ball ramp for our lane (mot even sure how that was a solution to this particular problem). My younger kids didn't want to bowl without bumpers so I got
Employees were harassing guests, encouraged those people to leave a review and then witnessed employees write their own reviews saying the exact opposite of what the complaints stated. Not honest people, lanes always get stuck and has even dinged my ball. Do not recommend coming here
The lanes were fine. However, the fact that they allow minors to vape at their lanes really gets me angry. The ?security guard? Watched them and did the motion where he points to his eyes and then to them, like I'm watching you and preceded to vape himself. Not only that, this same group of teenagers, preceded to smoke weed in the women?s bathroom. I asked the young girl at the counter to spray it down before I sent my child in and she preceded to take out her cell phone with her heart light and make a tik
So affordable, kind and helpful staff, very clean and well maintained facility, and the food was Delicious! Cant wait to return. Thanks for providing such a wonderful, family friendly atmosphere.
Website says there's open bowling when there are leagues going on, ruined my plans for the night with the lady. Front desk was snobby about telling me the advertised time was an estimated time. I'll never go here again, waste of time and effort.
came in with my family, front door girl had a nasty attitude with all of us. Required to wear their shoes, which were dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned. Wont return. Hire friendlier staff and fix lanes and I might return.
This is my go-to bowling spot! Always a good time and there is an awesome girl at the front desk that does a great job every time. I highly recommend stopping in! You won't be disappointed!
5?3 security male said we couldn't bring a non-alcoholic drink in, wouldn't let us take it back to our car, and then said ?give me all your ID?s? to a group of 22-23 year olds to bowl. having a rough night eh? ??
So many lanes! Staff is very helpful and accommodating. The food is also amazing!
I went to the game room. It was fun. 3 pinball machines. That is why I went there.
My goto spot to bowl, love this place. Very spacious and good quality service
Meet the GeneraL Fynn who's story will soon SHOCK America - he's the Real Deal Holyfield ... the deviL made now God us going to make his
I had my children's birthday party at Imperial lanes, it was an exceptional experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the woman in the bar area getting us pitchers of water and pop, she was amazing! Food was great and when I was an idiot and left without paying the rest of the bill, they kindly called and made me feel like less of an idiot showing their understanding and knowing it was a busy day. I would recommended Imperial Lanes to everyone!
I absolutely LOVE Imperial Lanes. The staff is so friendly. The bowling ally is always clean and when we have issues they do the best to fix it fast. I highly recommend this bowling ally. Anywhere from date night to fun family gatherings. This place is the place to be.Thank you much for a lovely experience I've personally been there about 4 times now and have never had issues. Again thank you and keep up the amazing work staff!
Always love the quality of service at Imperial. The girl at the front desk always makes me feel welcome and helps with our needs!
Decent prices, clean, good food. The thing that tipped it over the bar that made me want to write a review was that I was accidentally double charged at my last visit and when I called and talked to Joe in accounting, he dug into it for me and within an hour of my original call had found the documentation and issued a refund.
Lanes were horrible balls kept getting stuck. Service wasn't that good not in hurry to return
Don't go there for the pizza ! Other than that , seems like a decent bowling alley
Service was great! I learned that wearing bowling shoes are required, and witnessed some people have an issue with it. Great quality and bowling center.
My family and I are frequent customers at imperial for a few years now and the way we were treated when we went on Feb 3rd to celebrate my birthday was horrible. The security guard and staff seems like they have a problem with black people all of a sudden. The customer service we received compared to "other" patrons was atrocious. We felt tolerated instead of welcomed. The young lady at the counter attitude was terrible to us but not other people. I will never go back to an establishment that clearly shows
bowling alleys are all the same - outdated, kinda gross but weirdly acceptable, time capsule. fun times ??
The bowling alley has 48 Lanes and has Bumpers, like every bowling alley. The Lanes are very well oiled and is always. I go here whenever Shelby Lanes is closed like yesterday. I didn't regret it either because I got my new high score of 187 (No Bumpers). They serve food and drinks and has a pro shop if you want a bowling ball. They turn off the lights and turn on the black lights for cosmic bowling at 6:30 pm. The staff is friendly.
Crazy busy on a Sunday afternoon but friendly staff. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Bowling was expensive in my opinion but I suppose everything is. Kids has fun
Went there for bowling tournament and the lanes were awesome
For OVER 2 HOURS. No exaggeration. A raffle was going on tonight on a Saturday night with the speakers ALL THE WAY UP. everyone was plugging their ears in between bowling as I looked around while plugging mine. After 2 hours of it, we finally complained and they wouldn't turn it down until we lied and said we had someone with hearing aids with us and said we would leave. I can barley hear anything as it is and even for ME it was LOUD. guess I'll stick to the weekday bowling.
This Bowling alley has been a favorite of mine for a year now, all the staff is friendly and always willing to help!
Love the recent renovations place looks great.
This is my favorite bowling alley to go to with my family! Staff is super kind and professional! I love the customer service!
Fun place to go if you are bored and looking for something to do. Lanes are in decent shape, and they have yummy pizza. The best time to go is before 5 pm during the week because prices are lower
Bowling is always a great time, but when you use a great facility like Imperial Lanes it is all the better.
Shafted twice in a row at Imperial Lanes- first time they told us it was a 20 minute wait for open bowling- took our money then said it's actually an hour wait- literally waited till we paid to tell us that and laughed, then while bowling, the electronic score was switching from league to open bowl only allowing one lane at a time - we let the front counter know it was happening, 10 minutes later they finally fixed it- but would not give any extra time for what was wasted on their mistake. Next time we we
Always a great time. The lanes always break down though. Wish they would fix that. But overall, good bowling fun!!
Always a little busy but that's just the bowling atmosphere. Good environment. Always go with a group of friends and its a blast.
IMHO probably one of the best alleys in the area. Very clean. Spacious. Modern scoring. Well kept lanes. Didn't try food or bar but it all looked good from what came out. You'll enjoy your evening at Imperial and the overall experience.
Love the layout, the staff has been awesome everytime I went it. Will be making this my regular spot!
Watched my Grandson Marcus' Dakota HS Bowling Teams in multi school meet. Two of his teammates almost bowled back to back 300's both left the 9 pin standing but both ended up with 289 games. Very fun to watch!
I enjoyed watching my grandson bowl at the JV Classic High School Championship held at Imperial Lanes. Lanes were nice. Wish I had bowled to see how the lanes react. He came in 3rd overall!
Don't bowl on lanes 1 thru 13 until they find someone that knows how to oil the lanes. This is my third year here and the lanes are horrible.
It's been a while since I've been here but the place has changed. Stopped in there on a Saturday night with my kid. Felt more like I was trying to get into some kind of event with security and getting carded and just not a family place that I remember. I don't really think it's the establishments fault. I do think that it's just the patrons.
The lanes are nice but it's impossible to get a drink at the bar. Me and my wife waited to order at the bar for about 10 minutes and were completely ignored. They didn't even look at us, it was like we were invisible. It wasn't even really busy at the time. We finally walked away without drinks. I guess they didn't want our money bad enough.
Great bowling alley! The front desk people are always so helpful.
Went at 10pm on a Friday and got in with no delays. They had a deal $20.00 for two hours plus shoes per person. The machines at the lanes are fun because you can customize them for each bowler with a photo plus the different backgrounds you can choose. The lane had no issues and did not break down. The drinks and pitchers of beer were priced well too. Had fun.
Imperial lanes stopped a High School tournament with 4 games to go with no apologies or explanation, if you can't honor a tournament you shouldn't book it. At the very least teams should be refunded. Stay tuned.
I had my son's surprise party their and the staff was so helpful. My son got stuck in the line outside and one of the bosses went outside and grab him and brought him in and then we said surprise. He was wondering why was he pulling him out of the line he thought he did something wrong. Thank you for a job well done. Sorrento pizza was excellent!!
Attended a birthday party here last weekend of October. Cosmic bowling was awesome although they dimmed the lights a bit late , after 9pm. We were told they had to wait for leagues. All in all the experience was good , bathrooms were clean and inviting. Food was excellent I recommend the chicken wings.
Imperial Lanes is by far the best bowling alley around Metro Detroit! Family owned and operated, pizza is fantastic, and lanes have a fun digital experience. Definitely choose imperial for your bowling fun!
First time ever going to imperial lanes, and will be our last. Overpriced and run down. HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING Food. We were put towards the end lanes. Half their lanes were glow bowl with music playing. The end where we were put was bright light, no glow bowl till about 40min left of our time there, (mind you we got there around 9pm) but no music at our end at all. The staff come across very unwelcoming. The bartender very slow and inexperienced. I wish I would have just gone where I usual go for bowling. Im
I had blast! The atmosphere was very inviting and lively. The food selection was ok I guess. The lanes are very smooth . Customer service was some of the best I've ever experienced
I have been here in the past with friends and had a decent enough experience, nothing special. The lanes themselves are pretty standard for a general bowling experience. Last time I was in the employee decided to help everyone else besides us even when they said we were there first or could go ahead of them. I paid for my bowling but my brother and father still needed to pay. We had a lane already, and all of our own stuff (shoes, balls etc). Probably will avoid coming back, it is a bit of a drive anyways.
tried calling over 6 times and no answer, Absolutely unprofessional customer service. why would I be interested? Going to a place when you guys can't even answer the phone?
This was my hometown bowling alley growing up. When I returned 20 years later, I was surprised to find a well-maintained facility, updated bar and lounge, friendly folks and fun bowling! Since it's so big you can usually get in for open bowling even at peak times. Can't say enough good things about Imperial Lanes.
Great place to bowl! Imperial was very clean, organized, and friendly.
For a birthday party. Got there and found out Arcade was being remodeled. So kids could play. They could told us when booked
Imperial is the best house in Michigan hands down. Whether your looking for a fun night out or league play, you can't go wrong at this house. Great atmosphere, clean, amazing staff, the best lane conditions and friendly owners. Love this place.......the snack bar is a must try (club sandwich n fries!)
I've been going here since I was a child, it's always a welcoming and fun atmosphere! Staff are amazing at what they do and food is stellar. Highly recommend for all occasions!
I usually love these lanes but the pricing after 5pm has gotten a little outrageous, $15 an hour. I'm sure you're probably thinking that's not bad right? But you have to pay that per person. So for an hour of bowling it was $60 for 4 people. So for the premium you'd probably expect everything to work right, but after every throw our balls didn't return. Its also really annoying to be standing in line while one worker rings people up and the other is just sitting on the counter with headphones on doing nothi
I've had many parties at this place & all of them have been great experiences. But on Sat May 21 was absolutely awful!!!!!!!! They are now charging by the hour & not the game. We were charged $20 per person for 2 hours & had 6 people on 1 lane. That's $120 & couldn't even finish the 2nd game. When I confronted Mgmt about this issue she said I could buy more time.
Great place to bowl and have fun. Major upgrades to lanes. Nice!
Great bowling alley with rip off prices. $12 per person for an hour of open bowling. That part isn't too bad it's when you cram 6 people on a lane (they refused to split) and you can't even get 1 game in with kids. At least there's time between bowlers to post a review. Get ready to empty your pockets!!!
I wish I could give ZERO stars. The first time I went I was charged $20 just to walk in the door. Security makes you wear wrist bands similar to those given out at amusement parks. You must show your ID whether or not you want to actually drink. A pair of shoes is an additional $20 and a game is charged by the hour. Total cost for a night of bowling without even getting food or drinks could run you $40+ a person. Do they give all their league members free stuff and have to charge regular customers an arm &
Took my 3 kids there and had a great time. Pizza from Sorrento was also great. I loved that the bumpers were programmable for each player, and I still maintain that's how my 7 year old was able to beat me ??
The place was super busy but the staff was really polite and got things moving along. Prices were decent. Haven't been bowling in a long time so not sure what to compare to. The place was clean and seemed pretty well taken care of including restrooms. The sorento pizza was priced okay and the pop was good.
I liked this place. Its really nice with a proactive staff. It has a Sorentos pizza there so the food is nice....its state of the art too.
Cam here on a Saturday, was somewhat busy but still plenty of lanes open. $20/person for 2 hours which was more than enough time. Our main complaint was that balls would often get stuck and take a while to finally come back which really used up some of the time we paid for.
Staff has always been helpful, understanding, and a delight to interact with. From the front counter to the staff in the food areas. Everyone was awesome. Lane areas clean, bathrooms as well. Good times.
Honestly, I have never been more mad at a place. We came in around 12:10 almost 2 hours before they close, and the broke down on us several times. The ball return wasn't even spinning. They were going to move us but I pointed out to them that the ball return for that lane wasn't working either. The woman was like ?oh you're right. Well just keep you right here than.? They had me wait 15 minutes to fix our lane, honestly for $11 a person you might want to spend some money on maintenance. You'd probably be bu
Horrible family owned business. They wanted to charge $15 for people that weren't even going to bowl.
My family has been going here for maybe 20 years. They just recently updated their hanging monitors to flat panels and they look really nice. Staff is friendly, the drinks and snacks are good. A good place to go for a night with friends.
Really sad on a few fronts. First is it's $15/person for one hour of open bowl. Even if you get 3 games in that's still $5/game which is quite high. The alley itself is looking pretty rundown and we had some issues with our lane which not returning the balls nor pins a few times. This set us back 10 minutes of the 60 we had purchased. We were never given this time back. If the cost was by game the time to fix the issue would've been irrelevant. Instead we ended up paying $15 each for 50 minutes of bowling.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
