I can here for mini golf a bit ago and had fun. I loved the neon/under water theme they had. I also stayed to play in the arcade and had fun. The prices seemed reasonable and one of the machines got stuck with some coins. I was given a card for about 50 tickets on it, which was more then I excepted, so they care about their customers. I can't wait to go back
?? ALERT: Found the Only Place Where Getting in the Gutter is Actually Celebrated Welcome to Idol Hours, where the beer is cold, the lanes are hot, and your bowling form deteriorates in direct proportion to your drink count. This isn't your grandfather's bowling alley?unless your grandfather was secretly awesome. Sure, you could bowl sober, but why would you when their draft selection is more impressive than my highest bowling score? (Okay, that's not saying much.) The beauty of this place is that after t
Just go to Idle hours south if you want to have a fun experience, and save yourself some time. The staff doesn't allow outside food or drinks inside of the building, but never has the kitchen open to provide food or drinks themselves. The building is usually empty and it's easy to see why.
Kids bowling birthday party. We were assigned a party planner. She was great. She set the room up with decorations we provided and brought and served out food and drinks. Great service. The pizza and wing bites were very yummy too.
I'm not one to leave a negative review because I understand things change day-to-day and people have bad days but customer service is everything in my opinion and our last visit was very uncomfortable. My son and I bowl here regularly, he absolutely loves it! So, this past weekend we brought my 60 year old mom and 4 year old nephew (first time bowling for both). I was excited for them to experience it & immediately, upon entering, the woman at the front desk seemed irritated with us or at life in general -
Went here with a bunch of co workers and we all had a great time thank u again for a great day today ??
Fun place to take kids with a lot of things to entertain them.
The remodel looks phenomenal. I haven't been in there in a little while, so I was shocked to see how different it looks. The employees were fantastic and so helpful. They actually seemed like they wanted to be there and take care of the customers. My only complaint is how expensive that it has gotten but that's everything anymore.
So far, we've had 4 community charity events in the Boutique. It's private, it's beautiful, it's amazing. The food is wonderful, the staff is helpful and the place is perfect for any special event. Thurman, the event coordinator, was amazing. He went out of his way to assist us and made sure we were well taken of. We love this place! ??The 4th Dunmore Community Charity Bowling Event is in the books! Great time! Congratulations to all the Winners!! ?????? ??Cara Mia's Delicatessen Team #1 won $1,500 for Ho
I had an amazing time. I have been living in Scranton for three years and recently discovered this place. I had seen that there was a hiring sign and asked Teri(who was absolutely wonderful) about it for my younger brother. she had given us valuable information about the different positions. Not only had she had done that but she had also given me further informs about the one at south side that offers laser tag. While my family and I were playing she had cut in really quickly and valued our safety by takin
Cool place with lots of variety for entertainment! Bowling, mini golf, an arcade, and a bar all in one spot. The staff were friendly and help you get situated with what you need quickly. The prices were a little expensive for bowling but the mini golf for $7 was lots of fun!
Food is delicious. However, the reason I am giving 2 stars is due to a member of the staff, named Teri- who decided to take our 6lb bowling balls away from us because we are ?adults? and ?don't need them? little does she know I have a shoulder problem and that's why I chose the small ball. She didn't care. We tried to tell her we needed them. There is no sign posted anywhere stating the 6lb balls have an age limit as to who can use them. So until a sign is posted, I am going to be in touch with corporate.
It was so fun and amazing for young children They have bowling, which looked to be a hit. We went for the indoor mini golf and were excited to have some indoor fun Imagine our surprise when in was a GLOW in the dark setting the balls glow Great pictures and memories We're looking forward to coming back The glowing from the floor runners and sea decorations light up the murals on the wall all underwater ???????? ?? ?????? We had a blast. Thank you kindly for the wonderful memories Have a beautiful winter
I would first like to say the two people at the cafe area were amazing! an older woman and young boy i believe his name was hayden, hayden helped me when i hurt my thumb and was very attentive as well as the woman who was very sweet and helpful. also the chicken tenders were delicious 11/10. But the middle aged man with short dark hair at the admission area was rude for no reason. As stated i hurt my hand but wanted to continue playing so i grabbed one of those push assist things that are typically for chil
Great place. The parking is very easy after a really sharp turn from the main road. We were surprised it took so long to find it. We started with indoor mini golf, which was fun. It was made all the better due to the air conditioning and roof over our heads. It was raining and oogey hot outside. Mini golf was followed by bowling ??. We had a few minor hiccups, but time ?? was added to make up the difference. After rolling balls at uncooperative pins ?? that were clearly glued to the deck, we tried our hands
This is one of the nicest bowling alleys. The boutique room is awesome. It's secluded, there's a private bar, everything is new, and it you have a private event, they can project your photos. There's tons of games to choose from. There's an arcade and glow in the dark bowling inside too. The food is decent, the prices are fair, and it's a fun place to visit. Highly recommend stopping by.
very nice staff, has glow in the dark mini golf, vip bowling!!
Very fun bowling alley, arcade, mini golf, and bar. We played glow mini golf and bowled during the glow hours also. The lanes are very new and high tech with large screens and music playing. The seating is also very modern and convenient with each lane having a designated table. There were separate lanes for more serious bowlers in another area as well. The staff was friendly and energetic.
We were actually in the event room, which is really nice. It was my company's annual party. There are several private lanes, a bar and cocktail tables. The food was basic bar appetizers, but they were really good. We had a great time, right up until one of the staff told us we couldn't continue to bowl unless we put on bowling shoes. We don't own bowling shoes, ,and we weren't going to wear shoes that hundreds of other people wore, so we had to leave. Too bad, because we really enjoyed ourselves until then.
The front desk lady was mean, and continues to be every time we go. First time we went, we brought in a drink and before even saying hello, she immediately got harsh with us saying outside food and drink wasnt allowed. So the next time we went, we made sure not to bring any, planning to buy from their restaurant, but it didnt open until 4pm. The bowling alley opened at 11. Meaning we couldnt even drink water while there because there shop was closed. Same day, another group had taken all the 8 pound balls,
Had a great time but need to buy my own bowling ball because it was packed on a Rock 'N Bowl Saturday night and there was slim pickings, to say the least, to choose from. Besides that it was really fun, probably the oldest people there and I caught up on the latest music and music videos, basically a hundred dollars ($96.20) for 4 people for 2 hours and paying $3.50 a pair for the bowling shoes ??not bad for a way to have fun on a weekend night. Was pretty sore the next couple days after bowling 2 games!! W
I used to go here all the time when I was younger. They've added a new amazing arcade. Updated their menu. Remodeled the entire interior and overhauled everything inside. If you're from the area or visiting, do yourself a favor and visit this location. Fun for everyone in the family at a very affordable price.
Only did the mini golf course but it was fun. Will have to try more of their offerings on another trip!
One of the only bowling alleys and mini golf locations in the area. It is very convenient to have them located together, with additional arcade games and a prize area. Idle Hours can be very busy on the weekends, so plan accordingly or be ready for a little bit of a wait. It is a very fun and great establishment for the area!
Used to be the best. When you go, you are timed. Took me 15 minutes to setup one normal game after I paid for an hour. Once I got everything setup( I only had 35 minute to bowl. Main frustration was I had 2 younger kids with me and could only have 1 6lb bowling ball and 1 8lb bowling ball. However, they only use the 6lbs bowling ball and the cashier wouldn't give us 2. Which, when you have 3 people using the 6lb ball only and only having one, that takes away from the time you paid. Also, they wouldnt put
Very family friendly atmosphere for Saturday afternoon we took our little ones bowling into the arcade. The staff were accommodating. We haven't gotten a chance to try outside mini golf, which we want to do in the future. we had a fun time bowling! My family came and bought a few games after my 40th birthday. They had such a blast.
Had a great lunch and had fun playing in the arcade. The food is really surprisingly good, all homemade, not typical food service stuff. My wife and I started going just to have a good time in the afternoon. Never know who you might meet! For people that grew up in the area, it nice to stop by and see who's out and about
Nice place, good rates. Did the boutique bowl for $40 per hour. Not bad for a family of 5. Kids shoes are fee, bonus!
Only did the mini golf course but it was fun. Will have to try more of their offerings on another trip!
We had so much fun together as a family ?? good service, good food, good times! Next time I'll be sure to reserve a lane to bowl when it's glow in the dark. Our next family trip will be to South side location where there's laser tag!
Experience was great and place was clean. The family bathroom is the cleanest I have ever seen! The bowling area was a bit overcrowded but everyone seemed to be respectful. However, $35 for 1 adult and 2 kids for 1 hour needs to be reviewed. We were only able to get 1.5 games in before the machine stopped us from continuing. My daughter was upset she couldn't finish her game. This is something else that needs to be reviewed. You should be able to finish what you start.
Walked in was handed a pager and told us 30 minute wait, the pager went off in the 30 minutes when we arrived at the desk, they told us we were going to have to wait another 45 minutes. unacceptable!
Went with some friends, despite me being an atrocious bowler we had a great time. Place was clean, everything was in working order, good arcade and other activities, bar and snack bar was solid and better than expected. Yeah might have to make bowling a more regular thing.
Love Idle Hours! Staff is always friendly, they just revamped the lanes, seating area, and flooring, which added to the bowling experience. My son bowls in a league and the staff does an amazing job organizing, and teaching young individuals how to properly bowl and be a part of a team. Well-kept, well-maintained and just a good place especially on a rainy day. Good food selection as well. Would highly recommend.
We had a amazing time lots of laughs... this place was very clean food was amazing kid friendly we went on glow night it was very relaxing and clean the play room was very nice very clean staff members was very bubbly and helpful the bar area was very nice the staff there was very friendly
Great atmosphere for family and friends. You can either switch it up with bowling mini games or keep it simple with classic bowling fun. Decent size arcade with a variety of games and even a state of the art VR gaming system.
The glow golf is so cool! It's a good place for a night out. Glow golf. Arcade . Bowling . It's a blast. Great food and cheap beer. Very clean place with tons of parking
Ways a great time ar Idle Hours, the glowing mini golf and bowling is so much fun, and the arcade is just as fun for us as it is the kids!
Place has undergone a lot of changes since the last time I've been there snack bar was closed and they're still in the midst of remodeling but still a nice place to go and have something to do for the day good place to bring kids
We bowled in the VIP area which is very nice and modern. Obviously newly renovated. Had a great time. We were also the only ones in there...which was nice Food is as to he expected. Price was reasonable. Definitely recommend.
Very clean and lanes are in great shape.
The facility was clean with a lot of activities. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.
Beautiful alley, 21 lanes. Everything is kept very clean. Big, spacious bathrooms, very clean. Plenty of seating. We had a great time.
The friendliest staff and manager I've encountered in a while. The food was delicious and they gave large portions. The only disappointment is the arcade was pricey. We plan to try miniature golf next time.
Excellent place, I have gone bowling only twice and has been here, first fam and second with my best friend, clean place, fun, really liked the pizza and the milkshakes.
We went here randomly on a Sunday with two kids. The place is great, yes. They keep it cleaner than it used to be. The problem is for an hour and half of bowling plus a tray of pizza, two apps and four sodas it came out to $145+. We were not expecting to spend over $50 for at least the lane and it was $75 for hour and half. We have not been bowling in a while and of course inflation is everywhere but the prices used to never be anything like that. Prices need to cool off a bit. We won't be back until they d
Very cool for a party reservation
Great place to go & relax bar opens at 1200noon come join us.
The lady at the front desk (I never got her name) she's super nice and fun, I've been there twice now and she's super nice, all the bowling lanes are well oiled and the balls are pretty good it's pretty normal wear for house balls, arcade is pretty fun to, we still have yet to try the mini golf but the bowling and arcade was very fun, will definitely be coming back!
Not your typical bowling alley. Very modern and fresh and clean. Really great remodeling job from its former incarnation. Doing a great job of sanitizing and maintaining social distancing with COVID. Friendly staff the many times we have gone. Mini golf is very cheap and super fun, kids love it! Arcade has a lot to choose from. We've whiled away many an hour on the machines there. Cosmic bowling is very fun. Food is very good at the snack bar. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the pricing of the ar
Very nice bowling alley. Everything is very well cleaned and the staff is friendly. Sweet arcade for the kids, as well as mini golf!
Attended a graduation party at The private bowling area where it was held. It was perfect. Seating to watch the bowlers, convenient bar and food that kept coming. Would recommend for any event. Beautiful and renovated it was a great experience.
My friend and I came here to bowl and play mini golf. The mini golf was pretty fun and hit up the bar before it was time to bowl. Good drinks. We rented out a boutique lane for two hours and had a great time. There was an issue where my personal ball got stuck and was able to clear it out pretty quickly. My ball did get a noticeable scratch on it, but Allison was able to get a technician to have the scratch sanded out and the ball resurfaced by the next morning since I had to fly back home the next day. Big
Every Tuesday the ARC has bowling. This place is unbelievably accommodating
Always a great time. Rates are a little high but worth it for a nice clean environment.
This place is awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was maintained cleaned constantly for COVID. This place is fantastic for kids and teens also adults. I will come again.
I've lived here my whole life and never went to idle hour. I was in a Southside bowl family. BUT I've made the switch. I loved it here, more than south side. Great food, great atmosphere and it's super close to my house. All around awesome and we will be going again.
Kids had a good time! I just wish they could have finished their (game)!
Had a great time service was patient and accommdating..
Nice and big arcade a bowling alley. My kids had a blast
Great place for the family ! Affordable, clean and staff is kind ??
Some moms and I took our boys for the $19.95 all you can bowl, mini golf and arcade. Definitely worth the price! Had an awesome time! We ate lunch there too. Delicious food, lots of options, and decent pricing. Friendly staff! We had a great day!!
Great place for a Date Night with the Husband or a Family outing. When my child gets tired of bowling we go and play in the arcade or go play mini golf. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a good time.
I love Idle Hours and I've been to both locations plenty of times. However, my last experience at Idle Hours North was not pleasant. I brought my five friends to go bowling, paid for everyone at the counter, and started our game! We had the entire place to ourselves and we were so excited. I accidentally let the f-bomb slip and I was immediately approached by the same woman who I paid at the counter. She very aggressively walked up to me and told me to keep the cursing outside, which is completely understan
It's Idle Hours. The leader in bowling entertainment for NEPA since before you were born.
We booked and paid our childrens party six months in advance. We went to see the venue and discuss final arrangements, and to pay for extras on Wednesday 25 October 11:15. Tall lady with short haircut worked behind the counter. I have an accent and she looked at me as if I was from Mars. I've lived in the United States for over a decade but apparently this lady couldn't understand a word I was saying? Both hysterical and infuriating at that moment. I then asked my husband whom had no idea about any of my pl
The building is clean, staff is attentive, food is good. BUT the prices are so much higher than I expected. You pay by time, not by games played. For my son and I to play for 1 hour, it was $40+ which just seems crazy to me.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The place with as clean as can be expected for a bowling alley and the prices were fair. The bar was reasonably priced with a good selection of drinks. The food was surprisingly good, we had bavarian pretzels and then some buffalo chicken fries... a little light on the chicken though. Bowling went smoothly though I could use some more funny cartoon bowling thingies in between my throws. Its part of the whimsy! This was my second time here, and there will be many more vis
Two people on second date decided to go and have some good clean fun. We had a blast. Neon golf is a must to play. We laughed so much! Skeeball, air hockey, basketball hoop, and the rest of the games are neat. We didn't bowl, planning that for next time. Just a heads up there are no pool tables anymore. We also didn't eat there. So can't comment of their food. Owner is a doll. So helpful and nice. Go visit you won't be sorry. If two 64 year olds had fun surely you will.
Visiting from out of state and decided to have a mini date night with my boyfriend here. Was charged over $60 for an hour and a half of bowling, the lanes are extremely oily which made it hard to grip the bowling balls, and there's not a lot of variety in the house balls. I have my own ball at home, I'm glad it wasn't used here because of the amount of oil on the lanes. Not a good spend of my money.
Such a great experience! Great atmosphere for bowling, friendly and super helpful staff! The mini golf is so fun and physically stunning! The arcade has fun games and the redemption center is the best one I have ever seen. My bf and I have been wanting to find a nice bowling alley and we've finally found it. We will definitely be coming back time and time again.
Love it here, friendly staff great food options. Upgrading arcade And getting other exciting features I'm excited to see what it brings.
Arcade kids had fun but prices were outrageous!!!!!
Place was absolutely packed with kids birthday parties and the people at the counter were slightly dismissive. After standing in a queue to bowl for 20 minutes, we decided it would be best to leave and try it another time. Modern place, though. Nice arcade and a lot of lanes. I can see why it was so popular.
The lanes were great. We especially loved the glow golf
I ordered deep fried pierogies. when they came out they were so over deep fried there was no potato inside them they were disgusting, I can't even believe they could actually serve them to someone. the waitress and the barmaid looked at them and took them back and apologized they said we don't know what happened.. so then I ordered chicken strips and mild sauce when they came they were black on the outside, they must never change their deep fryer oil. Whenever I order chicken strips anywhere else they com
I wish Google allowed more than 5 stars! My son and I stopped by hang out for a bit. We had an absolutely GREAT time! The update and remodel is outstanding and will definitely stand out for years to come. Can't wait to come back. Staff was incredibly gracious and welcoming.
Pretty good experience except the fact that they didn't let me use bumpers or the dino. i?m 13 and they said i was too old came to my lane and took the dino away. I was just there with some friends and wasn't serious so you'd think it'd be okay. Other than that it was fine.
They did alot of updating and its beautiful. New game area (which they use cards for tickets and coins now, that part sucks) and the private bowling area you can rent out for an additional fee. Which was well worth it. Food menu also got better . My family and I had a great time! Just a little expensive, but definitely worth it.
LOVE THIS PLACE! The updates they have done these past few years are PHENOMENAL and it has become a great place to spend a night at. The arcade is my favorite part and can keep you busy for hours. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for a place to bowl/eat/entertain your friends and family.
What a wonderful experience! We bowled in the boutique section. Very clean facility. Even the rental shoes were new. The staff were all very friendly. Oh, and don't forget to order the fresh cut fries. One delicious basket will feed four. We will be going back!
If I can give less I would. I spent two hours here for a bday party, and as I'm cleaning up to leave they wanted to raise trouble about a bandana that can't be read by anyone due to its way of being tied and wanted to throw me out. I hope they got good lawyers for violating my rights and freedom of speech.
I bring my brother for the firts time to bowling we have so much funn
Been many years since I bowled here. Used to have pool tables last time I came. They charge by the hour and shoe rental is reasonable. Lanes are fully automated. I came with the family and we had a great time.
We had a really good time and I really liked touch screen system it allows bumpers to automatically come up for kids
Incredibly busy but it was a Friday night! Staff handled it super well and were so friendly. I waited an hour at the bar, which was also staffed by two lovely ladies, and didn't mind the wait. I had a blast with my boyfriend and best friend. Thank you!
Went for mini golf on a Friday night. Prices were reasonable. Nice little family activity. I do wish the course was a bit bigger and varied a bit more. It was extremely small and very simple. But works for one visit. I think this would be a good activity for young children.
Wonderful friendly staff, great birthday parties and bowling leagues and I love the remodeling that has been done over the last few years, looks like a whole new place!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
