Customer Reviews

I've been regularly coming to the Funplex since the 2000s when I was a child. This place has resonated with me deeply. It has a unique and weird architecture (weird in the best way), with an unmatched ambience and fun activities in each corner. Quite frankly, just walking around is a nice time in itself. I look forward to the Funplex reopening - thank you for so many memories, big liminal playground! I took these pictures with an old camera, but they're from 2024.

The idea that fun plex has of kids having fun is there but the amount you pay is not worth it for what you get. The roller skating is fun but the people that attend their makes it seem like a very low category place.

I took my daughters to this place this past Sunday and it really wasn't worth it. The outside is super dirty and building can't possibly be up to code. You can tell it was a nice place when it first opened but the current owners don't care. In the arcade only a few games worked, the skating ring was the best part. They have rides that you can get on but they were outdated and there were no attendants. The place feels like a big ball of germs, touching anything makes you feel dirty. The bowling alley was nic

Paid for my sons birthday party, booked in the crystal room. Party area was not ready for a half hour after the time we booked. Several of the fun attractions are not working as well which was a bummer. The manager, not sure his name, was more than helpful in getting us accommodated and expediting our wristbands and game cards. It looks a bit run down but we had a great time. Communication seems like it could be better, along with some aesthetic touch ups. There's an obvious abundance of maintenance work t

Okay let me start by saying I've been coming here for years but I haven't been since 2020. The first RED flag was they don't open until 5pm but the website has an early bird special that's Friday - Sunday 11-3pm done at make any sense. Next issue was the fumes of dirty cleaning supplies was wild. It gave me a migraine. Once we waited two hrs for them to open I was already into deep to seeing as how I drove from brookshire for a family day with my kiddos. Once there I quickly was upset because they told us o

Fun little spot to go to when you have free time with the kids. The roller rink was extremely chill and relaxing, as well as the bowling alley. Since it was a weekday, there weren't very many people there, so it was the perfect time to go.

When I first moved to Houston I couldn't believe that such an establishment existed! Indoor amusement park, what??! And for a reasonable price considering everything was unlimited. Just like an outdoor park my baby could ride over and over, as much as his little heart was content. Today I came in, now paying more for less. 60+ bucks, just him, and he can only get on anything 10 times. Very disappointing. Likely a new management issue, someone more than ambitious and blatantly money hungry. Imho, unless the

We had a blast going to this place. The kids loved it, very affordable, we got the 20$ wristbands that allow all but 3 attractions. Everything is indoors, which was perfect considering that it was 100 plus degrees outside. There was a lot to do there, bowling , skating, arcade games, play areas, Farris wheel, trampoline jump, bumper cars, and more. The lines were very small while we were there. What a great place for all ages. Has a bar in it for adults, they have food there. We will definitely be visiting

I've been here a few times with my girlfriend, it's one of her favorite cherished childhood locations so I wanted to see. It's very magical and I was put into a good mood immediately upon arriving. The Funplex is a wonderful place and I tell everyone who's into arcades, bowling, roller skating and backrooms-esque about it, I can't recommend it enough!

This place needs some TLC. Lots of arcade games aren't working. Ferris wheel attendant is very slow and could use some help to expedite the seating. He was working really hard and seem tiered. Not many options to eat. I visited on March 21. This place has seen better days. Card wasn't accumulating points for the ride and arcade combos plane.

If you read my reviews you would know that I am usually positive and tend to try to always be so. But our experience at the funplex was such a disappointment. I truly hope the owners take a good look at these reviews and try to make some changes. The place was overpriced and half of the games didn't work. The kids went from game to game not able to play any games they wanted. A ticket to fiesta Texas is cheaper and 100x a better value. The 20 signs at the counter that said ?no refunds? was the first red fla

Went for Friday night bowling. The bowling shoes looked new and not raggedy. The wings were really tasty and fried just right. The drinks from the bar were solid and made very well. The bartender was friendly and knew what she was doing. They need to update the patio to the restaurant and get it right because it has the potential to be very pretty. The pool table is small and the pool sticks are not that good. Very light and some broken. The kids section for games is terrible. Most of them don't work. Overa

This place is pretty awesome. The kids had a ball and its pretty decent in price. On some nights it's only $10 for all rides..well most....and skating is included! The kids play are is huge with bouncy houses and a great slide into a ball pit. Highly recommended!!!

This is a comprehensive super entertainment city. It has 40 bowling lanes for professional competitions, complete facilities, first-class service, and excellent environment. In addition, it also has large-scale venues for large-scale roller skates. The entertainment city also has a sports bar, a large video game world, a variety of restaurants and supermarket services, suitable for various social groups and parties.

The place was not what it advertised to be, it looked run down from the inside and was not too welcoming. We walked around to see if it was a place we would want to stay and have fun but many of the rides were either not functioning or did not have staff to operate. We left.....

How is this place still open?? It's actually gotten worse since my last visit in 2018 and I didn't think that was possible. I'm reached the conclusion that no health and safety inspection has ever been done cause it would never pass. Needs shutting down. Dirty, nearly everything in the arcade is broken and seriously over priced...I'll stop here. Just see photos.

This is one of the best funplex I've been to in a while. Indoor with everything you can think of. It even has its own skating ring and you can rent skate shoes of different sizes. The number of arcade games here is limitless. And if you're not a fan of arcade games, you have some other thrills to make your day like the trampoline, high wheel ride, perpendicular ride etc. There is a food hall just in case you run low on energy. There are height restrictions to some of the rides since this is basically for th

Absurdly huge. Decor over-the-top, but maybe that's a good thing? Kid running the go-karts was excellent. He was very kind to my son, who was doing it for the first time. They really shouldn't be saying they offer "food". It's Popcorn, chips, and L soft drinks only.

My first time here! Beautiful place visually ??but the staff are unfriendly, no smiles or welcoming words. The white lady with glasses at the ticket booth was so rude, cutting me off even before I said anything. Unexcusable! Went to the restaurant, two employees behind bar didn't acknowledge us, even standing right in front of them until we walked away, again Unexcusable. We played a few games and my nephew went on some rides, again no hello nor friendly attitude! I asked, why is everyone here so moody and

Went to this place for the very first time and i absolutely loved the variety of things to do there. The bar area had great customer service. The bartender was GREAT!! However the customer service in the games/arcade section was HORRIBLE! there were kids working this particular station that were completely clueless to prices, arcade time and how the arcade packages worked. They were very unprofessional, argumentative and rude. This place definitely has 5 star potential the only issue is the children working

When it was Fame City of course, thats why i gave it 5 stars, yes all the way back in 1985 i was coming here. Time goes way too fast, anyway great place that i remember, now way over in california since 1997.

It's so much fun for all family ages they can enjoy its little experience but it's nice place

Wonderful and generous management and staff. They allowed our group of 35 children to come and have a great day. Very gracious and accomodating. The facility is bright and clean. Many options for entertainment for young and old. I was surprised to find a bowling alley, skating ring, very cool pub, banquet rooms, well as all the cool stuff for kids.

Alex over at bowling was super nice! He has very great customer service. Thanks Alex. I haven't went bowling in years and will be sure to make it a weekly event with the family!

#Summer indoor playland. You can purchase the summer plantinum package @ $30 per person (for unlimited rides and arcade games & 2.5 hours of play time). This will be enough time for the whole famiy to have a ball. I went there as a young teen...and its changed so much. It is still under renovation with much more exciting things to come. You get to be directly involved in all the kids activities. All the smiles on the kids faces, but I had to call it quits due to me running out of energy. Yes....because kids

it was expensive to me:$25 to bowl for 1 game,$25 to roller skating for 1 hour, and $25 for 7 laps around the go cart track, at least the ferris wheel was cheaper $5.99 for a few spins, there were a lot of birthday parties going on and it was pretty packed (which is good for business)

I went there for the first time specifically to bowl. They have offers on Saturday that include an hour of bowling for $24.99/hr plus $4 shoe rentals. I thought it was still a bit pricey for a sale, but we went anyway. When we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised as to how it was basically an indoor amusement park. We're greeted with vibrant lights and funky colors that are appealing to the eye. We saw amusement rides, arcade games, go karts, a skating rink, a small food court, a bar & grill, and the bo

Visited during the holiday break on a Friday afternoon. There was no crowd which was great. My 16 yr old and 9 yr old loved it. They did bumper cars, roller skating, fireball, trampoline, ferris wheel, funplex drop and go karts. We bought 2- hour passes - $29.99 each which doesn't include video games. The virtual car race wasn't working. They are bringing an indoor roller coaster attraction. The go karts require a height of 58 inches. The measuring ruler is at least an inch from the floor so your kiddo will

Fun place for children & adults!!! I wish they had some rides for adults. But the bowling & skating ring has a whole vibe. The restaurant is not bad either....

Dulce, our coordinator, was amazing! She put up with all my requests and made our daughter?s party happen! All her staff was super helpful and welcoming. Our bartender Cali made the best strongest drinks! She definitely calmed my nerves with those drinks! Our hall was Silver Palace and it was the perfect venue for our daughter. Thank you infinity. ??

I have been to Funplex plenty of times in the past and I was pretty excited about bringing the kids again but unfortunately this place is not what it used to be. This place is very overpriced. Games did not work. If you want to get inside the Playport you have to pay $20 per child in addition to everything else. The staff is extremely rude. I had this gentleman try to honor my Groupon to avoid the hesitation of buying it and then redeeming it. After a few minutes I found out I had paid for only rides and ap

First off, the fact that it was empty on a Friday night just makes me happy that my kids didn't have to wait in line and did all the arcade and rides they wanted to do. Didn't try any of the food options cause I just wasn't going to from the jump, but according to the menu they have burgers and such plus cupcakes and cookies( that look like they bought at Walmart or krogers and just displayed it nicely) The rides are pretty quick as far as getting your moneys worth. The unlimited arcade card, you swipe it a

The play area was good for kids, the rides we're ok, just a little pricey if you wanted to have the kids rid them all, but the games were a rip off, they mostly just took the points from your card and didn't work properly if at all,

Okay, so some basic things to know coming here: 1. FUNPLEX is an Alief staple. Nostalgia for the old-heads that grew up here. The sign, those palm trees and that mirror looking building are all still there. Adventure bay closed over a decade ago (now apartments), the putt putt is gone (dumb move), there's been other changes over the years but the spirit of the place remains the same. 2. You don't come here expecting squeaky clean bathrooms and top-notch service. Idk what people expect out of this place, b

I had my 6 yr old bday party here this August 2023; just needed to beat this heat and have fun in some air lol. The pros are: everything turned out nice as heck; they were super nice and caring. A nice young lady met at the front door, introduced herself, and escorted me upstairs to my party room. She was also my personal assistant; she was so helpful and understanding that I loved her. The office staff was also very understanding and compassionate. I kept asking questions they never got mad or angry even a

The skating area is great, but the music they play is very advance for kids. Like profanity music.Ms V is the person in charge of music today, Sunday oct -02-2022. - 3:20pm I want this place to consider the music for kids, because this is a kids playground, not a night life place for adults

I drive the all way from katy for the roller ring, I even checked the website before. We arrive and is close for remodeling.... for real guy, is to hard to update you website? Also the go cart is close as well but say open on the website to .... Well pretty much every cool ride hare close... Don't waste your time with this place...

This place brings back memories from my childhood and teenage years. It has its pros and cons, but seeing my toddler have a good first time here is all that really mattered to me. We love Funplex! ??

As the name entails, it's where you go to have fun. Rhey have rides for children. Bowling for the adults. They even have rides for your little toddler which I found to be a wonderful idea so if you have kids crying because they were not tall enough for a particular ride, you could simply get them on the ones that fit their age and height. Problem solved. Awesome! The food was ok. I only had the fries so can't really speak for the others. They had unlimited bowling after 11pm if you're into that. Overall f

Awesome place to bring the family. They have food games music skates drinks ice cream pizza bowling trampoline and more. Very big place to let the kids loose and plenty satff and security for protection. All in one and one for all. Thanks for a great time.

I will never return to this place ever again. The playport is mortifying as my son hurt himself because there is not enough balls in any of the ball sections. Literal concrete on the bottom with a thin pad on top. The Ferris wheel is out of commission. Half of the arcade games do not work. Feels like they need more AC units inside, the building is definitely 85?. The hot water in the restrooms does not work. The food is overpriced and not good. You can go anywhere for less money, more AC and better food for

Save your money. I'd give it zero points if I could. I've tried to play 3 games so far, none have worked. They did give me points back, but if everything I want to play is broke, what good are the points. They do not give refunds, they're not fixing the games. If you're wanting to play at an arcade, this isn't the place to come. Sad game selection as it is, then they're broken. Also, in the fun plex bathroom there are large roaches.

It's almost like an indoor Vegas themed park upon entrance but the lure is soon over as you go in and see how overpriced and just a TAD rundown it is. Still overall my 8 year old had a blast so I guess it was worth it...

It's so sad that such a beautiful place with so much potential is ran so poorly. No employees are to be seen besides the ones at the rides, which is required by law. Every single arcade game is broken, and even if tickets are advertised there is no operating prize area, meaning you are paying over $2 per game with no reward present. The curb appeal is everything here, but don't be convinced, because the inside is nothing but disappointment.

We had so much fun at this place, there's so many things to do it's overwhelming. I love that They have a 2 story play area that requires every kid names, ages, parent contact info & time in & out before they enter/exit play area. There's a big slide w/ ball pit at the bottom & a few different games on bottom & upstairs has several bounce houses, tents/tunnels. There is a huge go kart track, bumper cars, airplane rides for toddlers, full sized Ferris wheel, more arcade games than you can imagine. Roller coa

The place is run down and dirty. Alot of the arcade games are broken or out of order. The restrooms are dirty and all but one stall didn't have toilet paper. I was upset that the guy running the trampoline let the kids in for their turn only to leave and not return. They waited unattended and finally someone else came to take over. I called the place to complain while at Funplex but nobody ever answered. The staff is literally a bunch of teens. My kids had fun but definitely not worth the trip.

The place looks like fun. From what I heard if planning for a birthday party, the service sucks. From what I experienced, I was kind of disappointed. I asked for 2 meals and a soda, which according to my math was only $36 but somehow the waitress charged me $45 before tip. When I asked for the receipt, she told me her machine didn't work but she would bring it to me, she never came back with it. And I've never seen a bar/restaurant charge me before I take my first bite either like this one did. Not a very

This is a great place to hang around with family and friends. Lots of activities to do here. Games are skating ?? for children!

My kids has the time of their lives. They didn't care what the place looked like. On the other hand as a mother I wasn't very comfortable letting them play on broken equipment. I wouldn't definitely return. The price was great . If i expected everything to be brand new it would be the price I paid.

This place is not worth it. Way overpriced and most games are closed. Go Karts are $20 dollars for 7 minutes per kid. My advice, save your money and go somewhere else

AS OF JULY 5, Save your time and money and DO NOT COME! I paid $43 for the ?2 hours? unlimited games and 5 rides! HALF of the games were not working, so embarrassing and waste of my hard earned money. I ended leaving in 30 mins, since nothing was working , go to chuckie e cheese.

I don't like that's place, I pay $200 and many of restrictions are not working, at the beginning they said all activities are working but that's not true, we pay for nothing, I don't recommend that place

Where should I start rude employees that really does not want to be there? Or not safe environment for kids? Or half of their equipment is not working? My kid got injured there check this picture out and tell me if you'd like your kid go to a place like this

This was a great facility especially for children. I enjoyed the roller skating and the price wasn't bad at all.

Took my kids Saturday around 5pm. Only half of the arcade games work. Only 2 employees for rides, which means Only 2 rides available. Best part was bowling, good drinks. Definitely not as much fun for kids as it use to be

Cannot beat the prices for bowling. Usually you can have free reign. Food is ok for bowling alley food. My only gripe is it is not as clean as I would like. Great place to hangout with friends. Update: They have actually updated the interior. It looks very nice and modern now.

This place is awesome. Lots to do split up for different age groups. Entrances for bowling and skating separate from main lobby for parties. There are also a ton of individual party rooms as well. They are very nicely decorated and are perfect for any type of reception.

Lines were not soft and full dust in the balls, but there are other activities in the place if u need to pick your kids.

Houston this is eye candy to all people the trees are a wonderful touch. The skate rink good size but to mention bumper cars oh it has so much going on. Good Times

Excellent service by William at The office bar every time I go. He's always friendly and very attentive to our beverage and food needs. Very relaxed atmosphere. Never really over crowded. This place has a very comfortable vibe with couches if you wanna watch a game or 2 pool tables available if you like playing pool. I will continue coming and supporting this business do to great customer service always.

A bunch of the arcade machines weren't working, were out of date, or even just flat broken. Me and my friends thought the place was lowkey ghetto asf too ???? The best part abt the place is definitely the bowling and the bowling alley was well designed. Skating rink was small and some of the skates were missing stoppers.

My boy shell did me and my wife right for our 17th anniversary appreciate you gang ???? no B's the best part of funplex was him no doubt....y'all need to do him better then how y'all been treating him I can tell he is a hard worker

Normally great!! Seams to have gone downhill tho. Today lady at where you get cards was rude AF, Most of arcades were not working, and rides were down nobody was trying to fix them either. Concidering it was pretty dead for what this place is you figure staff would be trying to deal with this. NORMALY this place is amazing so from 5/5 to 3/5 sorry.

Took my kids her for my sons birthday and they had a blast. Some rides wasn't open but it was okay because everything else from skating to bowling was and they enjoyed it. We also had the entire rink to ourselves which my daughter loved!!

This place was full of fun. A good selection of a little bit of everything. Reasonable prices too. They have various events going on at different times. Something for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised on our first visit and will be back for sure.

We are visiting from Chicago. My sisters husband owns a restaurant in Katy and he recommended some fun for us and the kids. We waited till the traffic died down to come out. Obviously we arrived close to closing time. We walked in the door and loved the atmosphere. We were greeted by Syed at the front desk. That's where impeccable service started. Being in the hospitality industry you know the first impression by front line staff is so important, and he definitely set the tone. With excited kids we went to

Great place to go. Very affordable. They have a great selection of games as well. I highly recommend coming here. Kids or adults. You're never to old to play arcade games. ?

It was amazing and up until 12am. on a weekend. We enjoyed playing bowling.

So Much fun. Just need a few more games

This place truly sucks. First, the employees are not welcoming at all. Then, more than half of the games don't work. Some of the ones that ?worked?, kept getting stuck. We went there to celebrate my brother?s 9th birthday and it was a complete disappointment. The only two rides opened were the lady bug and trampoline! My brother really wanted to get on the go carts and couldn't because they only had the single rides working. What a waste of money.

We brought our daughter here for the first time and she had fun, even made a new friend, but the staff looked as if they did not want to be there. We had to make it a point to speak first.

Went to a birthday party here. We had a blast. I agree with others, the place needs a little tlc as some games are broken. But there is so much to do. I also agree with someone about the Go-Karts. My daughter is autistic and never experienced anything as such. The young man working the go-carts was so helpful, he definitely gave my girl and experience she never had. I can't thank him enough. Biggest issue was we ordered a picture of beer. And once done, sitting at the bottom with the ice was a large piece

The place is a dump. Went on a Sunday afternoon hoping to have some fun with my daughter and it was a complete let down. They had multiple air hockey tables and none of them had pucks. Half of the arcades weren't working or didn't function correctly. It's almost like a slum lord bought the place for a tax break. The skating rink is solid concrete. I intended to teach my daughter how to skate and the fact that it was solid concrete frightened her. I dropped way too much money at this place. The only reason w

I recently visited Funplex and had a very disappointing experience with the food and the management. I ordered food that was completely unsatisfactory?it was either not what I ordered or not up to standard. I kindly asked to have it exchanged, but Matt, the manager, refused to accommodate my request. What made the situation worse was his unprofessional behavior. Instead of resolving the issue or offering any solution, he chose to argue with me, which only escalated the situation. I expected better customer

Great indoor place to take your family and have a good time.. there is plenty of arcade games and rides for the kids to have fun.

This place is a mix of toddler carnival rides, video games, roller skate rink, and go cart arena. Definitely nice place to hang out with your family. There is even a bar at this establishment for the adults to hang out and watch sports.

What a horrible weird experience. Started with the cashier at the rink ignoring us so a man could haggle us telling us to pay him instead of the cashier. Offering us wristbands!? When we asked the cashier what is happening he just looked at us!?!?!! So weird!! Felt like the employee was encouraging the scam. Then he wouldn't speak with us, he continued to tell us a price all though we were asking questions about what we were paying for. Cashier was severally under qualified for his customer service roll. D

Came here on a whim bcuz we seen there were go carts & bowling, we only rode the go carts which was fun would love a bigger track but I understand little kids can ride as well so , we walked around to see the place we would love to bring a group there to bowl & I think coming back to skate would be fun as well.. there were a few ppl there so things were not crowded. Would love to come back with the kids

I hyped this place up to my 11 year old beacause I loved this place even up until my teen years. Unfortunately once we got to trying to ride the rides or order food, the staff did their best to ignore my child and act as if they could not see her. An employee tried to refuse my child getting on the trampoline due to her age, yet there were no age, weight or height restrictions posted anywhere, so I fought that for her. The go karts were not sufficiently charged and were super slow. Some were even dying on t

We went today and it really wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. We wanted something fun and close to the hotel so my son picked this out from a list of choices we had. He loved it. The staff seemed nice and we went on a weekday so there wasn't a crowd. Yes it's outdated in some ways but it still fun and most of the things function. Some arcade games were out, the food court was closed (but the bar area had food it serves), and at times there were rides unattended but not all the time, there was one rid

Nice place. It's very clean, big and awesome.. but some of the games are a lil expensive ..??

We came for my daughter?s 14th Birthday and we were met with Great Customer Service from Daisy and Lizbeth in the skate area. Also Patrick the manager had very good customer service. Thank you funplex

Someone needs to have a managers meeting in this place. I witnessed a manager named Tammy being very rude & disrespectful to her staff. That should never happen. The fact that I witnessed it is very insane. Which means she has no respect for the customers. These young kids want to work and stay out of trouble. To have to come to a place where they are belittled it outrageous. I wouldn't be surprised if they quit due to her poor management skills. Get it together!!!

I'm honestly surprised at how much this place has improved over the years. I remember coming here as a child for my birthday with my family and it was okay, and later on it was pretty barren on most days. But now it's actually pretty active, especially on weekends, since there's attractions for adults!

The best you're gonna get for amusement since Astroworld is no longer here! It's getting better and better as the years go by! Rock & Bowl on Saturday night's are awesome!

It's an awesome place for the whole family. So many games, rides and attractions. But make sure to bring lots of money because this place is ridiculously experience.

Haven't been here in over ten years. Really like how they have updated things. Still needs some improvements to rival D&B and Main Event. Tip: Bowling is a great bargain $15 unlimited with shoes included. Next visit will be at the Office Bar.

Love the skating part even though i suck at it. Was a bit annoying that the bar didnt open early enough they said 5pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
