I love this place for my kids but there's just a bunch of safety concerns with the jungle gym as you will see in the pictures
Spoke to the customer rep on the phone the previous night. She indicated that for me to purchase tickets online and to come early, children parties are help. Saturday and Sunday are not as crowded with children. Wow, it was a mad house of children 29 minutes after doors opened. I asked for my money back. No refunds, the manager stated. I'm an adult and don't want to be involved with children under 8 years old. I wasn't told this info. I don't want to return here ever. Now I have $40.00 i want back. I'm
Could've been better. Went there for a birthday party for a friend of my child's. Security was hardly doing her job controlling the older kids pushing my 3 year old over and nonstop cursing and behaving without manners. A Couple of the games took payment but didn't work right, didn't even bother to start a conversation with management about it, just to probably be told that's out of their hands. 80$+ spent there and half of it wasn't accredited for. Not sure if I'd be back.
Staff was nice and very accommodating for our work event. My only issue is that we couldn't get into laser tag. I went up during the second game to add my kid names and they said they were full. But some people decided they didn't want to play and we still couldnt get in to play. Disappointed, I paid extra so my kids could do the bounce things.
This is a super fun place! The laser tag was great! The facility is well maintained. The food is good. There are lots of activities and lots of space. We spent almost 5 hours here and we're totally coming back! The staff is very friendly. The only thing I'd change is I'd bring my own roller blades next time. The rentals are very uncomfortable and provide absolutely no ankle support. We didn't skate too much, but still had lots to do.
excellent place for children and celebrating birthdays.
Great place to skate and let the kids have fun, pizza eats as if it's made on cardboard and the rental price is a bit steep. Would recommend bringing your own skates/blades.
Love coming here with my son! The nostalgic feel is awesome, the place hasnt changed much since 25 years ago when i would come as a kid and somehow thwy manage to keep it from feeling run down at all! Awesome place for family fun!
There is always great family fun to be had at Horizon Fun FX. Roller skating, laser tag, bounce houses, jungle gym, along with video games and a snack bar. It's an ideal location for children's birthday parties, and other gatherings. Still great family fun, always. It is a really nice place to have a party.
We had a good time skating here, but it was pretty crowded on the weekend, and a little pricey. 4 of us with skates cost me 80 dollars. They have a lot of rentals available though, both skates and rollerblades, and you can rent a push bar for the beginners.
Great place for food and drinks and family fun. Great for kids parties and learning how to skate and be a kid. No complaints here and the people who were there were giving a good vibe.
Great time! The skating is fun and plenty of other activities with a lot of video games for all ages.
Great place!! We have been there dozens of times through the years. Never fails to lift our spirits.
Just think there should be a combo deal for admission and skating. But great place for kids to hang out. Took my daughters, nieces and nephew. They had a great time. Food priced like any other entertainment complex. There are options if kids do not want to skate or roller blade.
The trip was nice! Alot of things to do! Except the no outside cake unless you book a party rule sucked! Also the party minimum rule of 10... $5 for a small thing of French fries and 3.50 for a hotdog... Games were overpriced!
Wow. I have been coming here for 20+ years. It was great to see it so busy and so many people having fun. Skating is a blast, games, inflatables and laser tag. We came just to celebrate our son birthday with a few people and it was a great time.
It was awesome! I had a birthday party for both my girls and it was perfect! Our host Natalie was great also!
PACKED! Loud. Think glorified Chuck e Cheese. Dated but kind of cool it's been around since the 70s, I'm guessing. Fun for kids. Not a lot of adults smiling lol pick your battle with this one.
The venue was great, and skating was fun. The rental blades were absolutely awful, however. Torn eyelets, frayed laces, bad bearings, and cambered wheels when in combination can actually be quite dangerous.
We had an amazing time, the staff was very friendly, my granddaughter friend had a party ???? . Everything was great I just wish there was better seating for larger people ( grandmas + pregnant women) The seats in the rink don't allow you to monitor your children if they are in the back .But everything was amazing ????
I love take me back too my child live
It was wonderful. We had a amazingly good time
We love bringing the family here for skating! Fun things to do in the arcade and good food.
Not enough guards things for kids and beginners and people especially grown folks that don't need them use them just because... horrible pizza great wings
I honestly forgot this place existed until a few weeks ago I got invited to an event there. It was super fun for the kids. They have quite a few attractions for the kids. It's a little price gougey the way they split uo the attractions and charge extra to enter each different area but to be expected. As with any arcade style attraction the food and drinks are outrageously overpriced and an absolute sucker punch to the fair idea of capitalism. However, I understand that in order for a place like this to surv
It would be great if the gas e an adult only time with older music. The floor needs to be cleaned the it's for gum all over it. But other then that clean place with polite people that work there.
Not the same at all. This used to be the place everyone loves! Now it's fading away. They need deals I remember it was 20$ for a fun time as a teen (teen night) it was great slice of pizza drink and skate.. with actual good music. Now the music is out dated not as turnt and not at all is it fun. Boring and pricey
Great value! Love that my kids skate where I skated as a kid!
Amazing place. Yo much fun
So much fun! So much to do! We were there all day!!
Horizon hosted a Senior class event for about 75 of my students. They did an awesome job! Very organized; kids were grouped well for laser tag, unlimited pizza/soda was fully stocked at all times and skate rentals went smoothly. I'd highly recommend them for a large group/private event. Tons of great feedback from students as well!
Friendly staff, and the facility was clean and modern. The sound system was excellent.
Only roller skating rink around! My kids love it! Great birthday party place!
This place is a normal roller rink. Smelled like feet, and the food was "roller rink" quality. Arcade games and laser tag are available to help burn time, too. Management was hands-on, assisting the staff serve food to customers, which was nice to see. The teenagers who work there are rude, but the overall experience was good. It was a great way to burn a few hours on a cold day.
I had my daughter's birthday party here. All of the staff were exceptional from the time of check in until we left! This is how you run a business. My daughter and her friends had a great time. Thank you!
Used to LOVE this place as a kid but we'd go at night if it wasn't for a birthday party. They're barely even open now and there's no useful information on the page. Looks like there are some great new attractions. Too bad you can't visit to use them n
They literally saved the day! I've been stressed out, as all moms or parents are. I showed up at Horizon, and come to find out my sons birthday party was actually the next day. People were already starting to arrive!! The woman at the ticket window, Abby, did everything she could to help me? Including calming me down when I started to cry, thinking, I screwed up my son?s birthday. The manager, Ashley, was able to scramble and pull together tables in order to have the party, even though they were already ful
Had my son's birthday party there today. They all had fun from beginning to end. Our host Ian was great and very helpful. Explained everything well and was attentive. I definitely would recommend the two early times for younger kids since around 4 the older crowd starts coming in and might be a bit overwhelming for the kids. Note that when it's getting time for the party to be over start looking for non-reserved area to move your things if you still have to get things out to the car since they will need you
It's really good I go there almost evey week. The people are really kind and care about the people who fall.
We held my niece's birthday party here, and all the kids enjoyed it. It's a nice little place with a bunch of different things to do, including skating, laser tag, a jungle gym/bouncy house and arcade. Everything is fairly reasonably priced, including the food. The only exception to this is the arcade games. They had a special on their site for 20 free tokens, but from what I saw there, some of the games would have cost that, OR MORE. This is the only thing I saw that frustrated me. Otherwise, it's a decent
Pretty decent for a no frills birthday party. The $5 per person rental fee for a skate learning assist thing seemed expensive to me. Kids blow through the game cards really quickly - should probably recommend bringing some extra dollars to add.
Good staff shady customers. We come here often to skate Was there sat night 1/25/20 with my three kids.. A huge fight broke out, not sure the cause. Security was on it fast and stopped it all pretty quickly. The cops came soon after. Staff was friendly and apologetic to everyone after. Great managers great security. Only 4 stars because there is often a thug like crowd there on the weekends.
Love the idea of this place. Well maintained, but a little pricey. Everything is an additional fee including the safety/practice device for children. The direction doesn't change so prepare to have your one leg overly stressed out as well as your wallet if you have more than one child. We will probably be back for special occasions, but not regularly due to being a family of 7.
We had a good time here. But the teens who run the place on weekends need more supervision. We left a pair of seeing glasses on a table and when they cleaned it up, they thru out my glasses. Couldn't find them. Their phone service is horrid. If they answer the phone the info is incorrect, the kids are rude and you feel like they don't want to bother with you. But my children had a ball. Food wasn't bad but price for pizza and pretzels.
Went to a kid's birthday party, they had a blast skating, playing games, and running around being kiddos. Laser tag didn't really work properly but the staff was mostly cool. Kudos to a worker named Ian, dude was above and beyond as a server.
Place is fun for kids and birthday parties. Quite high in price but everything is an add-on.
Kids had a great time birthday party ?? for 3 years now no issues to report....lol...my grandkids love it here .......thumbs-up ?? for me
Great place to go when school is out but even with lunch in the car i average 50$ per kid after the lazer tag and cliff jump and video games. They do keep the kids so busy i couldnt get them in the photo booth. The other skate place is way easier on the wallet and better about enforcing safety rules, you know the one, on adirondack street...
Our son had a great time roller skating. Thought that the kids should be allowed to jump off the cliff jump bounce house more than once for the price that was charged for an all day pass. Especially since it wasn't busy. There was some technical issue with the laser tag to were the kids couldn't see their final scores. If we come back we will only be doing the roller skating and maybe some of the games.
It was cool, But I really dont recommend to use their rollerblades. I used their rollerblades and my toes were in pain and it felt like they were being crushed! And keep in mind that I changed sizes 3 times! When I was finished roller blading, my toe had a bruise and my heel was in pain. If you use rollerblades, I recommend using skates or bringing your own rollerblades. When we went, we pay for ALL activities. Including, Laser tag, King of the hill, and the cliff jump. But when we got to the area with the
I have not been to a roller rink in over 20 years and this place was above and beyond my expectations. The place was easy to find via GPS traveling from Syracuse. The atmosphere was very party like with multi colored lights all around a video arcade and a rink full of kids and adults skating to family friendly music. When my daughter fell and hurt her knee multiple staff came over to make sure she was OK and then brought me a nice pack of ice to put on her boo boo. Along with a little TLC from me she was ju
The smell was awful, mildew and feet, the food was overpriced and horrible. I order a large pizza and was served cardboard stacked up on individual plates. We arrived early and I was ready to leave ten minutes later. It is nothing like it was when I was a kid.
Good times, ice man one of the most fun games! Great service, good pizza little over priced tho
On a whim, my wife and I decided to go rollerblading! Horizon is a decently priced destination for family or couples' excursions and we'd recommend it to anyone whose idea of having fun involves moving. Music was energetic, the atmosphere was friendly, and staff was accommodating. However, both bathrooms were pretty gross today (my wife reported to me on the female side). Much fun was had.
I booked a b-day package for daughter, 1/25/20 who was turning sweet 13. I've been there several times and no problems. My daughter's friend's all came & having a wonderful time. Eeon was our host and did a fabulous job of taking care of the needs. Unfortunately there was a altercation between two parties. I felt so sorry because their children suffered because it was their party also. A lot of people were upset because it wasn't necessary but hands were put on someone's little child first and then you kno
I love horizon fun fx so much. when you first walk in you will be greeted by a cheerful, wonderful teenage staff. I asked her name, Savannah, and she was professional and polite. Later when I got my skates, they were true to size. while skating, the skate floor was organized and a safe place for my kids to skate around. The snack bar is wonderful as well! The lines are short and the workers are clean and give you your dollars worth. The blonde in the snack bar was extremely patient and accommodating to my n
$60 for 1 adult and 3 kids for just 2 hrs of just skating. Pizza is $4 and change each slice. Lockers. 75 cents every time you open it. All together, a 2 hr night with the kids cost about $90. Not cheap for 2 hrs. Not what I'm useto. They should add 2 more hrs to the session. Throw in a few prizes for races bring some new faces. Floor was in decent shape. I feel like if they dropped the price and added couples skate, all girls skat, all boys skate, some races, cha cha slide some other dance songs, they coul
It was grate but if you go for a birthday party the schedule is confusing:)
My family and I went skating for my sons birthday. We all had so much fun. It brought me back to my teenage years.
Wouldnt recommend at all. This is horrible place now since the pandemic. I jus tryd to go there and they treated me and my kids like we were trying to cross the border. I didnt feel welcome at all and its crazy because i was meeting my family there and they wouldnt even let us in. Never again. Horizon is dead. Rochester is dead
This weekend I went to Horizon for the first time since I was a kid. It's pretty much the same and kids seem to like it. I was happy to learn that they have a ramp so wheelchair users can get on the roller skating area. However, I went to the bathroom I was really frustrated that there was no accessible stall. Additionally, I only saw two accessible parking spaces in their lot which does not appear to be enough based on how many spaces are in the entire lot. It's time for Horizon to comply with the ADA.
Depends on the night. Fridays are terrible. Alot of kids running around doing races up and down aisles and staff is useless. Over priced, cheap frozen pizza would taste better. Soda is watered down and to get in is over priced esp when you have to pay for rentals and all the extras.
Recently, I came to Horizon Fun Fx and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the pizza served. It tasted outdated and had the quality of highschool cafeteria pizza. I was surprised there wasn't an option for a sheet pizza from a local pizza shop, which I believe would be much more enjoyable for all guests. Additionally, a price of nearly $300 for the party package is too expensive for what their service is offering. Overall, I love Horizon but cannot recommend Horizon Fun Fx for their pizza and sugge
As overpriced as this place is you think they could afford decent laces for the skates that still has the ends on them, considering I had to get a size too big for my toddler because anything under a ten you have to put a $30 deposit to use them even though she had a rental tickets from the birthday party she was attending. Please explain that to me??...you charge for a party package that includes skate rental for the party guests. But if smaller than a 10 you have to come out of pocket again
Our son loves skating, the bounce houses, arcade and climbing structures! It's a fun indoor place for kids to burn some energy and have a good time.
I usually have no problems with this place but today 9/1/18 a problem was exposed to me. I'm about 6'4" tall and wear a size 14 shoe. Today was daddy/daughter day with my 7 yr old. So I paid for our skate rental and as soon as hit the floor I knew something was wrong with my right skate. Went back to the rental counter and there was no other skates my size. Ok So I moved on then I noticed there was something inside my left skate. I stopped took it off and found out there's no insole in the skate. So I moved
I have never had a more disappointing experience at any place our family has gone. First they don't have any skate sizes for toddlers. Some may think this isn't a problem, but they tout themselves as fun for the whole family. Second after they scream at you for holding a child if you're wearing skates. If safety is a main concern, why do they sell blinking mouth pieces to children you wear while skating. Then you have to purchase the safety bars for kids to learn to skate on. Their safety regulations are a
Lots of fun for pre teens and teens. Staff could be friendlier, having teenagers operating the attractions is not a good idea, they have no experience with children and there is room for rudeness and foul language towards them. Price is good
Great place to throw your kid's birthday party
So my family had a good time here, we had a roller rink back up north when we were kids so this place brought back some great memories. However for a family of seven this place can really nickel and dime you to death. Admission, rental, and then 7 bucks for an assistive device for my toddler? Not cool. For two hours (our choice)of skating for the above stated it was $120. You could feasibily stay the entire open skate time for $10, admission plus rental. Overall had fun, made some new memories with the kids
I loved!! EXCELLENT MUSIC!! Good place to go as a family, as a couple or with a group of friends. They sell light food like pizza and drinks for children and "adults"??.
I like this place because its very fun. There are alot of people there and some are trouble makers so I didn't give it a 5 star. Otherwise I love it. It has great food, and it's fun!
It was a fun place nice atmosphere my son loved it so did my grandkids the rooms for the birthday party are a little bit small but it was fun
Great family fun! Skating, laser tag, bounce and climbing areas. Food available as well, great place to bring the family!
I went here and my friend couldn't come in because he was too old (he's in 10th) but I saw people who were like 17, 18 in there which is a bit frustrating; I had been planning to hang out with him all week and then all of our plans were cancelled when the lady was like "hE'S tOo OLd!!1!" And that left me all alone for 3 hours. I personally believe that on Fridays kids in the age range of 11- 18 should be allowed to skate because if kids wanna be active they should be allowed to do so with fun. I don't think
Really enjoyed my visit loved the skating and played a few games. Wish the skating "refs" would have enforced more. Some not so young (18-23) man kept grabbing people because he had no control. Kept happening the 3 hours I skated.
Great time and the kids loved it. Food was great as well and i wasn't that expensive. Will definitely come again
This was our second Birthday party at Horizon. Probably the most fun of all the typical birthday locations (mouse place, mini golf place) the kids don't get bored of roller skating, and have Lazer tag and games in between.
Clean environment, Friendly and very helpful staff, great atmosphere. We had so much fun! And Wings are on point aw well. Family friendly.
Lots of fun for the kids! However it was a little crowded around 4. So many birtbay parties open skate, etc all going on at the same time. My little guy was overwhelmed.
Saturday mornings are best. Less crowded. No problems. Clean and fun. I'm always impressed with the staff. Hardworking, friendly and patient
The music is WAY too loud, can't even talk to the person right next to you. The monitors are worthless. They do nothing to enforce safety rules. I would give zero stars but not an option.
Great birthday party, everything was fun, WISH the walkers to help children skate was FREE, 10$!! COME ON. They are only PVC tubes with wheels, I think you can afford to let the kids use them for free!
Fantastic place! Manager was so friendly and kind. Staff was very helpful and polite. Best of all the place was CLEAN! Definitely recommend!!!
Family skate isn't always that great. Makes me wonder what open skate is like. Thinking about switching to bowling for family outings.
i completely agree with sarah's review!! we will never step foot in this place again!! in addition to sarah's comments the food was overpriced and tasted terrible and employee didn't wear gloves when handling our food. gross!! alot of the video games were broke. very frustrating. complete waste of time, find somewhere else to go!!!
Very nice, clean and specious. Kids love it We are definitely coming back
My family loves coming here, prices are ok, good place to have a party. This place has been around for atleast 17 years and i dont hear about it much, but its a fun go.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
