We had a good time here. Most games are free. Skeeball and some of the pinball games cost a little. Buy a drink and have fun with the retro games! The facility seemed pretty clean and the staff was helpful.
Stopped by High Score Saloon in Evansville before a comedy show at the Ford Center and honestly? Didn't expect much with just one bartender and what looked like one guy running the kitchen... but it ended up being some of the fastest and best service we've ever had. They were flying around like caffeinated gamers back there. The food was solid, the prices were right, and the drinks hit the spot. I had a Coors Banquet and a shot of whiskey, which felt appropriately rugged while surrounded by pixelated chaos
Unique experience, cool and retro games, clean restrooms. Facts: They have a minimum drink requirement for the free gaming (see pic) They have the only true gaming bar in town. They have Nintendo, and other untradional public access type games in addition to arcade based games. Great downtown main street location SUGGESTIONS: The bartenders may want a refresher on how to treat their customers, and pay attention when someone is standing there for 15 minutes while they carry on conversations with friends at t
This was a super cool bar. I wish there were more bars out there like this to be honest. Not just your typical sit and have drinks while listening to music and socializing. This place had a ton of retro arcade games. Great place to take your significant other or go out with a group of friends.
Right off the bat, Lgtbq+ friendly. Love that I wish more places were like this. My husband found this randomly and planned a surprise date night for me here and I was thrilled. 21+ only as it is a bar. Free to get in. Absolutely love this concept. Most games are free, except the Pinball and a few select others. Tons of Pinballs, acarade games, and Nintendo game consoles to play. Beyond Love the random nostalgia decor. The Mask was playing on an older TV on vrc when we were getting drinks and I just absolut
Clint is an awesome owner and really cares about an amazing customer experience. Highly recommend for retro, modern, and even moderate gamers!
Came for some good drinks and had waaaaaay more fun than expected. Most of the machines are free play and they have some unique games I hadn't seen before. Lots of more immersive games like Guitar Hero, shooting games, a quick draw game that every arcade enthusiast wishes they had at home and an In the Groove 2 dance game with updated recent music that we played for nearly a half hour!
Stopped in to grab a drink and check out the games, and I was not disappointed. For a small, quaint little bar, this place has a ton of character. The staff was friendly and helpful. The games were a blast from the past, even for a 90s kid. There is nothing better than having a drink and a bite to eat while listening to the sound of smashing buttons and flipping switches. All without the screaming of children.??
Really fun bar-cade! Nostalgic games and great drinks. Great balance of nerdy and casual bar atmospheres. Recommend a visit!
Draft is amazing here. Great Friday night spot!
Google maps asked me if high score saloon has changed. And I can honestly say that it has. It's bigger, there is a wider variety of drinks and food available, and while they still haven't brought back to popcorn that's not that big of a deal. What hasn't changed is the quality of the time you were given when you walk into the establishment. The employees treat people so well and I'm very lucky to have fostered friendship with them over the years. If you haven't visited HSS yet. Please do yourself a favor an
Amazing chill place full of nostalgia. Games are free to play and a good selection of drinks and food.
I love this place. You can buy drinks and then play arcade games for free. Pinball and skeeball cost quarters but it's worth it. My wife and I love going there as part of date nights.
Me and my boyfriend love this place.. and have loved watching it grow as a small business.. went last night for Friday the 13th and some weird Al pinball and got some awesome merch! The new tshirt, a coozie and an awesome trash tots pin to add to our collection! ????????
Great place for the old school gamer. The most of the older arcades are free & the bar tenders are friendly
Love going here. Super cool place to grab some drinks and race down memory lane as you play mario Cart or all the other classic arcade and console games. All are free except the pinball games. No cover charge and my favorite thing of all you can order up a Totino's pizza of your choice. Harkens back to the old gaming marathon days.
10 out of 10. Would recommend to a friend. Pinball, food, drinks, good people, great owners.
Good beer, super friendly staff, and all games are free except the pins, which are .50 to $1
Classic arcade with a 21st century twist. 21 to enter and you are transported back to your youth. Free arcade games throughout and pay per play pinball. A good selection of craft beers is always in rotation and if you happen to get hungry they have a classic gaming food selection: popcorn, soft pretzel, totinos pizza rolls. Games & pins are always in rotation so if you go often you will be pleasantly surprised to see new titles coming in. I joined the pinball league and have been having a blast every w
We love High Score Saloon!!! Can not say enough about this little hole in the wall tucked in Evansville?s west side. Come enjoy a multitude of games from back in day, and new Lin ball machines that will rock your world! Great Beer selection and friendly service and patrons alike. Always clean!! Unisex bathrooms here as well. We'll see ya next time we are in Evansville as this is a TOP SPOT for our visits! It's a step back in time.
Truly a place to enjoy for adults. We got introduced to it back in the summer from a friend of ours. One of the few places in town that you encounter friendliest staff from guy checking ID at door (how often you see bouncers engaged, smiling and greeting people), to bar staff and even people that go there. So much fun to enjoy those games and Pinball machines while sipping on your favorite drinks. We also picked this place for our New years Eve to be at, while everyone in town was charging crazy cover charg
If you have not been here yet you MUST go! Beer and arcade games, Adults only. All the video games are free and you only have to pay for the pinball. Best game though is call "Ice Cold Beer" might have spend a couple hours alone on this one.
A bartender who can make a white Russian and not charge an arm and a leg! I love coming here on week nights. "night life" isn't really my thing but I love coming here for a little grub and a beer buzz. The arcade machines are well maintained and set to free play. Bring a roll of quarters too though because we just GOTTA get wild on one of their AWESOME pinball machines.
This... is... AWESOME!!! Such a cool idea to bring to Evansville, and I love even more that it's downtown. We will be back... many, many times.
Not a huge drink selection; but the games were really fun! You can also get refillable popcorn. I mean, Who doesn't want sip a cider and play frogger?
Had an awesome time here! I sipped an IPA and enjoyed checking out the cool pinball machines, playing Skeeball, and playing Rampage. Unfortunately, we couldn't figure out how to select other 8-bit games from the menu, but we had a good time with Rampage.
If you like old-skool video games and alcohol this place is perfect. Maybe that isn't for everyone, but for me it's pretty cool. They also boast a wide selection of alcohol and craft beers. An upstairs with live music, all of it adds up to a trendy spot. And the bathrooms were clean. Lol. Hard to do in a bar. I had a great time in this place. And most of the games are free to play.
Neat place, but it's very small, which I think plays into my biggest complaint - there are many great games, but some of the more obvious games from 80s/90s arcades are missing. Twilight Zone or Addams Family pinball, Mortal Kombat, Dragon's Lair, Q*bert, and Virtua Fighter come to mind. Full credit for having lots of really great games, though - I didn't have trouble finding something fun to play. Aside from the game selection it was extremely hot inside (we left earlier than planned because of the temper
I've been here 3ish times now. Staff are always nice and helpful. Food is good and the place is clean. Definitely hit it this place up if you like drinks and retro games.
Neat place! Good selection, vibes, food/drinks
I always enjoy stopping by here when I'm in town. The games are great and so are the people there. They usually have something going on and there are usually big events at different times of the year.
This is literally my favorite bar, VERY queer friendly
Awesome bartenders, amazing selection of games, great atmosphere for just hanging out or getting rowdy and breaking a couple of glasses.
Awesome environment. Love the pinballs. What's available on tap is usually pretty good. Every Wednesday there's a pinball tournament, and that's a lot of fun.
Cool place. My drink was delicious.
One of my favorite places in Evansville! I just adore this place and all the staff I've encountered at the old location and new. Always such a great atmosphere. The new place has more space with more seating ? I especially love the bar seating and the additional seating by the pinball. The pizzarito is SO. GOOD. I cannot recommend enough. I really hope this business thrives in the new location and I can't wait for even more expansion.
First visited on 12/21. We had a wonderful experience. The bartender was friendly and helpful. Drinks and food arrived promptly. Games are fun. Great experience. On 12/23 one of the two bartenders snubbed us for 20 minutes before we decided to walk out. They served other people and cleared the persons food next to us without even looking at us. Honestly, I'm impressed that you can avoid people that well lol. Personally, I work in a bar in DC, every guest is greeted on arrival. I get it if you're busy but
Went for the first time tonight with my wife and friend we loved all the vintage games and the drinks the bartenders were super friendly and had a great atmosphere above all for the whole place! Definitely will be stopping in again soon to try the delicious smelling food!
Visited this place because the website said they have house of the gundead. It either hasn't showed up yet, or it was tucked away in some back corner. I stayed for a few hours anyway, free arcade machines and some neat pinball tables made up for it
UPDATE AFTER MOVE ** The new location is AMAZING! There's way more room, WAY more beer options. WAY more food options. WAY more everything and it's a good thing! THANK YOU for all you've brought to downtown!! --- This is a gem in a growing downtown. There is nothing like this place anywhere near here. While I will admit it may be difficult for some to adopt this new culture of gaming for some, those who have, totally love it. I cannot say enough about the staff who is genuinely engaged with you, takes and i
Please I love Burger Time so much I want to cry when I think about it. Also I love the Wheel of Fortune-like game. It is so fun but why is there a sex option??? I don't think I understand what sex Wheel of Fortune would really be like, but I am not someone who needs to understand everything on this planet. I am glad that sex Wheel of Fortune exists for those who understand it. Also great drinks and staff!!!
A very cool blast from the past. These guys have all the cool vintage toys and I love the venues they've created to share them. The collection covers decades of coin operated machines...good diversity, great condition, plus a nice selection of beers and a machine-rolled hotdog warmer. Pinball machines tilt and click like they should. Love it!
Stood at the bar for 10 minutes trying to get a drink.. it was 3 other parties there waiting with 2 of them arriving AFTER I had already been there. He looked at me, I had cash out so it was a matter of being ignored. The guy decides to serve them both first I guess cause they were regulars. Only gave an extra star cause the guy at the entrance was really nice. I wish he was our bartender! Because of the terrible service I decided to enjoy free games for about 15 minutes before we dipped.
Awesome idea! We went on a Saturday night and we were able to play every thing we wanted with little to no wait. We spent about $40 for 4 drinks and pinball for 2 hours. All things considered it was a great price and I'd definitely go back.
Nice place! Good atmosphere, pretty good food as well. Nice to play some old video games this old man grew up with.
Such a great time and truly a gem of down town. The bartender was super nice and personable, my wife and I spend about an hour just talking to him instead of playing games. But the games were great, they have NFL blitz haha. Definitely made a repeat customer out of us. We just left and are already planning and looking forward on going back.
This place has a great atmosphere. Everyone is welcome....as indicated by the signs on the bathroom doors. The staff is super friendly and nice. They are very informative about the games and will share as much knowledge as you want. One stuff member actually opened up a pinball machine for us so we could see the inside. Very cool. They have a great signature beer on tap also that is brewed just for them by Carsons.
Busy place, great atmosphere, lgbtq+ friendly
My husband and I had a stellar time here. Loved the Simpsons game and all the Mortal Kombat options. Games are mostly free except the pinballs and some others, which is fantastic. The space is well spread out. The bartender was nice and accommodating, had him surprise me with something sweet, and it was fantastic. We're definitely gonna try to go back at least once a month.
High Score Saloon scores high all around! The very best staff in town. They really do treat everyone like family. They work hard to keep the fantastic selection of classic to new pinballs & arcade games in top condition. Don't forget to order the trash tots!!!!! Hot, fast, delicious and big enough to share.
We came on Tuesday October 11 2022 6pm, there was a lite crowd and all games were accessible and I never felt pressured or rushed. The bar offered good services, I don't drink alcohol so I bought a beer and threw it away. Small price to pay to play cool games. I will come back
First time there, so limited experience review. That being said, it was wonderful nostalgic, had a weirdly diverse selection of beers (in a good way, freaking Bourbon County man, I was thrilled), the pinball is plentiful, and the other classic arcade options were awesome. I was particularly impressed with the clean bathrooms and have sanitizer stations, I feel like the owners really thought it out, giving people a lot of video game fun and the means to have clean hands. It's winter during this review so tha
High Score Saloon is a well maintained, fun, laid back, and friendly atmosphere for those that enjoy nostalgic games and craft beer. They also carry domestics for those who like to keep it on the lighter side. Their pinball selection is awesome and there are always new game announcements. The owners have a passion for arcade games and all things retro. They go out of their way to have conversations with their customers and make sure everyone is having a great time. If anyone ever has a concern or question,
Cool spot to spend a couple hours reliving the glory days of old school machines. Most are fully functional. Only a couple out of order. Take the kids and let them enjoy some inexpensive entertainment!
Came to hang out for a few hours after dinner on a Monday night. There were not too many people there, so my wife and I were able to use any machine we wanted which was nice. The beer selection is amazing. The game selection, as always, is amazing. Being able to hang out, drink a few delicious beers, and play free arcade games is one of the best things in Evansville.
Great beers. They have cheap beer options too. 3.50 for cheap. 5 and up for good beers (12 oz) games are all free except for pin ball. It's a tight space; but people are polite about it. I had a pretty good time both times I've been.
Great place, great owners, friendly staff and AWESOME GAMES!! I visited with my box of quarters tonight and I have to brag about their pinball machines. I played almost all of them and they have a great mix of older and new games. Getaway was my favorite but Lethal Weapon 2 was runner up! Nice to find a place that is chill to be at, good beer and great games. I plan to go back and do the video games, but tonight it was all pinball. I met Jared one of the owners, he is a great guy, loves the games as much as
Good beer and great games. All the arcade games are free to play. Pinball cost $.50. Great bartenders. Very friendly. We ha e a machine eat a dollar and he gave is 3 free plays on it and even asked if there was anything else he could do for us. I will be going back with more friends. It will be a monthly ritual for the few that went.!!!
Great place to play classic arcade games and an amazing selection of pinball machines. This locally-owned gem is something that this town has needed for a while. The food is quick, affordable and nothing fancy but a perfect reminder of what our childhood was: simple. I love the fact that it is a bar and you must be 21 and up to go in. I want to enjoy my video games, a nice cold one and some quick food without worrying about fixing up my hair or having to pay a cover.
Fun little arcade bar. They have a nice selection of craft beers on tap and domestics in cans or bottles. Arcades are free, but you will pay for pinball. I think they donate proceeds of pinball which is very cool!
Man this place is amazing. The atmosphere brings you to a place of nostalgia like never before. The place is very clean and polished! The staff is extremely friendly, especially Laura, who not only brings quick satisfaction but adds to the atmosphere. The drinks were made top notch to perfection, looked as one of the best drinks on main street easily. Really check this place out, you will not be disappointed.
Only problem with this place is i could spend my entire day here drinking, playing and talking. Loved my time there and our bartender was super cool. It was awesome to see a true arcade again. Drinks were really good and reasonably priced, especially since the games are free.
Nice spot, just a bit small. The drink selection was adequate. The drafts were tasty, particularly the arcade ale, but the liqour selection was minimal. They have a nice outside area that has a lot of potential. Also if you use cash they cant track you. I would like to add that reaching out does speak highly of your care for your business to which I tip my hat to you.
Great place to play video games with your friends. Also has a bar that you can drink with a variety downfall is that it is 21 and over so you can't bring your kids but then again who wants to be chasing kids all day when you're trying to have fun it is really enjoyable to play kind of takes you back in time
Free games, great beer and good customer service! And they leave you chalk for the bathroom! W!
I have been to a few arcade bars, but this is the best one I have been to. Bartender was friendly, the games are free, and it being Sunday it was not busy at all and we were able to play whatever game we wanted. No loud music so I was able to have a conversation while playing Bust a Move with no problem. We will come to this bar everytime we visit Evansville for sure.
Awesome little arcade bar in a cool location. I loved the old school games.
A few buddies of mine stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was amazing. I couldn't believe how many different pinball machines and arcade games they were able to fit in the space they had. The service was great and the people were even better. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to stopping by again in the future.
It took me a long time to actually get out and visit this establishment, and I'm so glad I finally did. I'm a little intimidated by arcade games because, um, I'm really bad at most (all) of them. But what a relief it was to me that most of the games (all but the pinball machines) are FREE to play! I don't feel like I'm wasting my money with my terrible abilities here. And, unless someone is looking directly over my shoulder, nobody has to know how bad I am at all the games! Anyway, I am not nerdy enough to
Its DOWNSTAIRS off the main street! Your map quest didn't lead you in the usual wrong direction!! The aah! Real monsters beer on tap is the best one. Bathrooms are soo clean. Majority of the games are FREE and theirs board games too. Oh and their is also outdoor seating, very nerdy and cool
This is one of my favorite places in Evansville. If you love old video games and beer then you must go. They also have a wide selection of pinball games. The pinball machines do cost, but all of the other games are free. You won't find dinner here, but they do have snacks like popcorn.
One of the best things to happen to Evansville. The owners, management and workers are absolutely fantastic. They wanted a place to keep it real. The atmosphere created is way beyond the average arcade. The only thing that costs is food, beer, and pinball. All reasonably priced too!
We had a great time it was empty because of what day we showed up so we basically had the whole place to ourselves. A ton of fun games we all ended up playing one with a ball before we left.
This place is awesome!!! The games here are not only awesome but they are kept in really great condition, even the oldest games work really well. They now also have some pretty decent food and they also have great beers on tap....love this place.
Really awesome. Games all worked great. Atmosphere was steller. Place was clean and fun. They do need to expand drink selection a little. I would also suggest just a few more food options. Now those small things said. We had a great time and there were plenty of games to play! I will go again!!
Always a great time! The beer is flowing, arcades are in superb condition, and the staff is very cool! I love going here on a night I need some games and relaxation. Extra points for having the tv playing Pokemon when I came.
Fun place! I don't drink alcohol, so when my friends suggested we go there, I wasn't sure what to expect. As a sober person, nothing's more annoying than a drunk. Haha But, the atmosphere is really laid back. Of course, it is a bar, but people are more interested in the games than getting drunk. There's a lot of awesome arcade classics. It's my new favorite hang out spot!
You won't find a friendlier place to kick back; have a few brews; and play some pinball, arcades, and console games. Staff is very warm and friendly, and the food/drinks are super reasonably priced. Free arcade game plays, inexpensive pinball play.
Came here for the first time with my buddy for his birthday. We played a few rounds of Mario Kart 64 and Super Smash Bros at the bar. We played all of their pinball machines and beat the TMNT arcade game. I had a blast, and he said it was the best birthday he's ever had! The bartender said they were trying to start an "all ages" place, which would be awesome because I kept thinking how much my son would love coming to a place like this.
Such a fun place to hang out! The tots were to die for and all the video games make for a super chill place to be, not like most of the creepy bars in Evansville. Everyone who works there are always so genuinely nice and the place is always kept clean
Smaller than I thought it would be and overpriced watered down drinks. However, the concept is pretty cool, and the atmosphere was really laid back. I would be willing to give it another fair shot. But seriously, they need to start serving better beer, stop watering down the alcohol to the point it taste like a straight coke, and stop charging $6 for a straight coke.
I can never get enough of this place. If you are looking for Evansville's best arcade and pinball experience, look no further. Never disappointed when I go. Great beers on tap, nice liquor, better friends.
Absolutely amazing laid back friendly couldn't believe how the time flew by was so much fun cant wait to go back
I may work there part-time, but I hang out there other times of the week because I enjoy the place so much. Clint and Jared have managed to create a great laid-back place to hang out, grab a beer, and play well-maintained pinball machines and arcade games. I'm not a beer afficianado, but they run small kegs, so most of the 8 beers on tap are frequently changing. There's usually something interesting to try. My only minor gripe is that with the downtown location street parking can be a little harder on th
Great bar, the owners are awesome and the games take me back to when I would go to arcades as a kid. Definitely recommended to anyone that hasn't been yet.
Great place. Decent beer selection, huge selection of old school video games and pinball machines. A small offering of food us available. There are some tv's set up with NES and other vintage consoles you can play for free as well. This place takes you back a few years. Come here and check it out.
Such a welcoming place. Fun atmosphere. Games everywhere. Such friendly, personal, helpful, educated staff. Unisex bathrooms. It's like a hit to the nastalgia with a bar included. This place is everything my parents told me to stay away from as a kid in one place. Right on beautiful downtown main street evansville. I can see myself going to this place on the regular. Feels like home. Awesome!
This place has food, fun, classic arcade games and pinball! It's so fun! They also have tournaments, which sound like a good time! I look forward to returning with my hubby, when COVID is not so rampant.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
