Such a cool arcade. Went with my friends and we each had an amazing time. The owner is extremely down to earth and you can feel the all the love they have for classic arcade machines. Wonderful find, 10/10 would go every day if I could. Amazingly priced.
Brought my Twins for weekend boys night out and surprised them with this location . David the owner was accommodating , every arcade game was restored by him by using original tube tv?s and original parts to function like your back in your childhood arcade game place. A lot more retro games are coming . Come check it out and you won't be disappointed
Great concept but poorly implemented. Tried to visit because FB post indicated open until 11pm but when we arrived at 9:30 the venue was closed. Not cool. And not a good way to run a new business. Hopefully not game over for this place. (2 stars) Update: Recently tried again and had a WONDERFUL experience thanks to the great game selection, awesome staff, and there were even snacks and drinks for purchase. Gaming was at a fair price. And I scored my all-time best at Galaga. Glad this place is taking off
Had a great time with my spouse, it was our first time checking the games out. It felt nostalgic all across the board with many games & lots of variety. Definitely coming back soon. Owner was super friendly and even gave us a sweet treat for the holiday. We appreciate the hospitality & the help with the machines. Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, we are coming for you !!
Husband and I came here on a random Monday. We greatly enjoyed the games. My husband loved all the ones that reminded him of his childhood and I enjoyed some from mine too. We were also lucky enough to spend some one on one time with the owner Dave who is a very kind soul. He showed me the msg adorable dinosaur bubble game and it made me so happy! This place is a great place to go and have fun without needing to spend a lot of money and without the need for alcohol. Love that he is open late! Will be coming
Went for the first time and had an absolute blast! There was a huge selection of games to play. The owner was incredibly friendly. I never played arcade games growing up, and he helped show me how the machines worked was always around to answer questions. Headless Horseman was incredibly new gamer friendly but it also had an overwhelming sense of nostalgia based on the expressions/excitement of the more seasoned customers. Could not recommend this place enough and it is definitely a local business worth sup
As a retro video game connoisseur, I was deeply impressed with the variety of original arcade cabinets, and the hard work that the owner has done to revive them into presentable working condition. He is a very cool and knowledgeable person after having a good conversation about his experience in the gaming community. It's a very spacious area with enough play room where you aren't always bumping shoulder to shoulder with somebody else. Definitely a cool place to check out, especially if you grew up in the
Drove down a couple hours to see a concert and stopped in. Owner Dave is very kind. We had a blast! They just recently opened and already have a great selection of games.
Stopped by with a friend of mine, and we ended up staying for 4 hours! I was pleasantly surprised by the vast selection of games offered here. Plenty of classics as well as some rare gems to be found. Everything was well maintained and responsive! The area is spacious and didn't feel cramped at all, despite the large selection of games. As someone who grew up playing many games offered here, I am appreciative of having a convenient location near me.
One of the best retro arcades I've ever been too. All the machines are in near perfect condition, there's plenty of space for big or multiple groups, pay once/unlimited play system, plenty from nearly all genres of games, a LOT of games I haven't ran into before or haven't seen in well over a decade. I could keep going on and on and on about all the wonderful things this place offers. I've personally been to so many arcades in Illinois and other nearby states in the last decade and I can say, without a do
We have brought in my family, it was around 7 people (including me). We all had a fun time in this location. The couple who were the staff there are really nice and friendly while we were around. It's nice to know that we have the choice to leave the location for a quick bite to eat, then come back to play the variety of retro games. I can see a positive route this local business can bring around here. Overall, I totally see myself coming back here another time!!!
Found it last night. I am glad I didn't know about it sooner because I would have dropped a lot more money on it = ) Dave seems to be a great guy. I feel fortunate he opened his arcade where he did bc its so close. Really fun arcade games. My sons, 14 and 12, love it too. They said it was easy to learn the games I grew up on. We'll be back.
Amazing arcade. Truly a gem for retro enthusiasts and for your kids The price is incredibly justified and worth it. I could spend hours there trying to beat people?s scores. Will be coming back again. And I recommend those looking to do a date night or boys night to spend it here
Awesome time here. All the games that were lit played well and were calibrated perfectly. Dave is a truly friendly and engaging owner and is there if you have any difficulties with play. I'LL BE BACK once T2 is up and running!
COME AND HAVE A BALL! I set out to do an arcade day and was googling options I hadn't experienced before. This came up and I love the single-entry price free play model so I decided to check it out. The space is HUGE and is well appointed. I appreciated the balance of the usual cabs along with some you don't see frequently and a few I've never encountered before. For the $20 admission you'd have to really not be an arcade fan, or leave quickly to not get your money's worth. I stayed for 4+ hours and didn
Went with some friends after dinner on a Saturday night. Had a great time playing a bunch of games. Many that I hadn't played since years ago at the Gold Mine arcade at the mall. Played some old favorites and the owner was helpful in pointing out some fun ones I've never played before. Great value and a ton of fun!
I came and visited Headless Horseman Arcade yesterday with my family and had a blast playing games I haven't seen in well over 30+ years. Nice variety of arcades from the 80?s, 90?s and some newer. $20 gets you all day gaming. You can leave and come back like we did. The owner recommended the Mexican food next door and it was a great place to grab tacos & burritos. I was in a food coma after that, but my wife & kids came back for another couple of hours. Great place to have in the neighborhood!
Lots of games to choose from. You pay a flat rate at the door and everything is free play. Allows you to try games you've never played before. Owner walking around and happy to show you the basics to enjoy trying out something new. They have driving games, fighting games, shooting games and maze games. Fun way to spend a Saturday night that isn't going to a bar.
My dad is really into retro gaming, and when we finally came here his memories were unlocked. It was lots of fun playing retro games that my father played when he was my age. I hope this place expands opening more games up to play. Owner is really nice to all of his customers and I hope this place stays open
I went there with my 2 sons last night and we had an absolute blast! The place had a great atmosphere and a ton of great games to play. The arcade game cabinets were in great shape and the controls on the games we played, worked great. Their Simpson?s arcade game cabinet was the best I have seen in a long time! It also looks like the owner has a lot of other games that he is getting ready. We are excited to see what gets added to this place in the future and we will certainly be back to check it out! My kid
GREAT place for retro arcade gaming!! Spent 5 hours here playing some great classics and still could not get through them all. Machines are surprisingly well maintained and restored with more on the way. $20 will buy you an all day pass. Highly recommend, and one of the better places in this category of arcade these days!
Awesome selection of games, with a large variety of genres too. This place has a clean environment, game cabinets, and bathrooms. The owner is clearly very passionate about his game hall, so expect more games and an even better experience as time goes on.
In my opinion, it's better than Galloping Ghost. Much more curated collection, a good amount of space to breathe and move about, and Dave is just a fantastic guy. Love this place (and I love GG too).
Awesome place! Came for date night and we both had such a blast. A huge collection of old games that's a huge blast from the past. I could honestly spend hours here and will definitely be back again!
We drive this way up Wolf Rd. regularly, and recently had to do a double-take - "Is that a new arcade next to Chinese Munch In"? Indeed, it is. We stopped in this weekend to take a look. The cost is $20 for all day free play, with come and go privileges. For a brand new arcade, there is already an impressive assortment of retro games to play. Many more cabinets were noted in the figurative workshop, so that will add to the collection, and I am sure even more games are on the way. A lot of the usual su
It's a cool place! Flat rate. Really cool retro video games. I hope they bring in pinball, ski ball and some other things to mix it up.
Best staff. Nice arcade. Decent selection of machines. Maintenance is a bit spotty. But I'm sure if you asked the owner would literally run over and try to get your favorite machine running if you asked nicely. Super cool place. I hope they grow and suceeed.
Great selection of arcade games ??? and retro gaming, great for kids and adults!! Unlimited play can't beat that!!
A welcome addition to the NW suburbs. The games are in great condition. A nice selection. The arcade is large and I look forward to seeing it grow and add new titles. I stopped by this weekend for the first time.
It was a nice cleaner place than other arcades I've been to in the area. I can't wait till galaga and defender come back. It's become harder to find places like this ever since the pandemic happened.
Amazing free play old school arcade that is a definite labor of love. Games are beautifully maintained. We spent 3 hours playing and exploring the large variety of games and didn't even play everything. My favorites were Arkanoid, Arctic Thunder and The NewZealand Story.
Very cool spot, glad this opened up right down the street from me. Owner Dave seems like a cool dude too. Would love to see this place grow and thrive so i can come in and play fighting games with strangers ??.
Boy. Holy nostalgia, Batman. I haven't seen some of these games since my childhood. I played for hours. The proprietors are super nice people and I had a blast. I've already been back several times. I am hooked on playing Cabal.
Fabulous place!! Games are on great condition, the owner is super nice. A fantastic time out. 10/10, will be back many times.
Great place, friendly people. Come play and beat my high score on galaga.
Well-curated selection of games and everything plays well and is in great shape. So cool to have a retro arcade in the area -- long live the Headless Horseman!
Cool place!! tons of old games and lots of fun!! must visit for arcade lovers
A ton of good games and more to come! A good time, entry is a good price and you can stay all day! Had a blast and look forward to coming back! Owner is nice and knowledgeable
Went here on Sunday with my daughter. Spoke with the owner for a bit, very great guy, it was a great time and we will definitely be coming back soon.
Just opened, lots of cool old games, for $20 you can spend all day there. Looks like there are more games to get set up too. Will go back
20 bucks for unlimited plays on tons of classic games. Well worth it
Truly authentic retro arcade. Lots of fun, clean, great time. You should all go check it out. Welcome add to the community.
Went with my best mate and had a blast. If you're into retro games, I highly recommend a visit.
Awesome collection of classic video games. $20 gets you free play for all day!
I absolutely love this place! All of the arcade machines are smooth to play and no input delay.
Best kept secret in town - Owner is cool and lots of old school games - fun for all
Amazing and classic retro arcade systems. There is something for everyone. Highly recommend
Fun arcade out in the burbs! Lots of games to choose from. We'll be back!
Amazing nostalgic videogames!!!
Tons of retro arcade games!
We had so much fun playing the games. Big and spacious with a lot of games. Definitely coming back!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
