The vibe here was immaculate! We stopped in for some drinks and games and ended up spending a good chunk of time just enjoying everyone?s company along the way. It's ticket back off the main street, but that makes it feel even more valuable :)
Awesome night out! The vibes are immaculate between the retro games, variety of events throughout the month, and the positive energy throughout. Service was good and bartenders handled the Saturday night crowd well. We came for the Dance Independent Electronic Artists Showcase. The artists fit the vibe well and there was something for everybody. The song selection was great, my group was singing along to every song. Drink variety is awesome! We tried the Pink Starburst, Danimals, and Apple Jax shots. Love
cool vibe inside and out, but probably wouldn't come back. food was like really mid, obviously all frozen and fried, which is like kind of expected from a bar, but the quality for several items was really low. like the tater tots and fried pickles were undercooked and soggy. good vegetarian options though. bartender was friendly but seemed pretty scattered.
This place is definitely a vibe. I came here for the first time with some friends and I had a lovely time. There are some fun games, good drinks, and a great staff. It's also a wonderful spot for cute dates, very LGBTQ friendly, and family friendly as well. Loved it! ????????
Nice place to stop in, have a drink and play a few games. I visited at about 1pm on a nice Sunday and it was practically empty. Lots of tables and seating. The bar had a good variety including about 8ish beers on tap. Prices were about $7-9 each...there are also mixed drinks and other cocktails available which were about $11. They also have some food items you'd expect from a place like this: tots, pizza, chicken tenders...which ranged from $7-10. Many of the arcade games were older: Donkey Kong, Centiped
Cannot get better!!! Amazing drinks, Amazing service & atmosphere! Plz bring back peachy keen & lower the price of the starburst shot and i'm an even happier patron. Honestly, 10/10. A MUST if in Beacon!
I hosted my husband?s 30th birthday here and the drinks, staff, managers, and owner were all amazing! They were so accommodating for a party of 50 people. I would highly recommend having a party here!
Great vibe and drinks/food. Highly suggest to take a visit here to catch up with some friends or hang out on a date as a fun experience. Music is on point and fun, staff is great and very aware of COVID safety. Indoors and outdoors areas work great, and would love to stop by on an active arcade night! Only time I've ever been to Beacon I stopped in here and loved it. Perfect hang out place for a few of us after hiking Mount Beacon. I would love to see a few more people behind the bar to help the patrons a
The place is great for the nostalgia vibes since it has pretty old arcade game. They run on quarters but there is a machine there to exchange bills. They 3 pinballs which where great and the drinks were just ok. I do gotta say that the best part of the place is the Photo Booth, $5 and you get 4 pics, great deal and they look great.
Great beer selection! The arcade games are will spaced out so you don't feel like you're crammed on top of other people when playing. The snacks were small but tasty and nothing less than what I expected but also nothing extra special. I'd give 4.5 stars just for that but since I can't, I rounded up to a deserving 5. They were gracious hosts for our event too!
Awesome NA selection! Really thoughtful variety of AF cocktails, beer and wine - best I've seen in the area. I had 2 of the cocktails and they were fun and delicious. Was happy to see my favorite NA white wine on offering too. Went on a karaoke night and it was a great crowd. The karaoke hosts kept the energy up and we had so much fun! Games are inexpensive (just a couple quarters). Can't wait to come back.
What a fun place! And for all ages too! My husband is a retro video game fiend and this palace definitely hit the spot. We've been to a similar bar/arcade in Bennington, VT a few years ago that has since closed so we were happy to find this gem. The games are only $0.25. Nothing like Dave and Busters where you'll pay a few dollars per game. They have a limited bar type menu for food which we didn't try but it's there if you want it. We tried a couple different drafts, which seemed to be local to the area.
Fun place to let the kids play with a pocketful of quarters, like in times past. Good snack food options, as well as craft beverages for the adults. I've held my son?s birthday party here, as well as attended birthday gathering for others. A great little place to check the box of nostalgia.
Old school arcade games. Most games are 25 cents, some are 50 cents and 2 pinball games are a dollar. Best thing is that it is kid friendly. After 9pm kids must be accompanied by an adult. They serve beer and also have a limited food menu. Definitely a nice little place to kill time or to bring the kids.
Fun little place. They have many of the classic 80s games. The specialty cocktails were delicious. I had a Gin Blossom. Their food choices were just ok. The pretzel was huge and the dips sufficient. Children are allowed before 9pm. They have an outside area. This place is counter service only.
We planned our annual company retreat in Beacon, and it was just amazing! The service was friendly and easy, which helped create a lasting memory for our team. Our visit to Happy Arcade was one of the highlights. Johnny and Nicole were fantastic hosts, and the space is filled with nostalgia. It was fun for everyone, and we all left with smiles. A perfect place to unwind with a group!
Had so much fun here! Super cute arcade place. I absolutely love the decor, and the selection of games. Time flew by here! I love how during the day it's family friendly, but it turns into a nice bar to drink at night. Staff was nice and helpful. Also took a picture in the photo booth and loved them! High quality photo booth.
Was in Beacon for the day and after watching the Halloween parade I popped in Happy Valley and can I say it was awesome. The staff were wonderful and it was full of families and buzzing with happiness. Bartender happily recommended an IPA and kept me topped up. Would recommend to anyone
A good selection of classic and some not-so-classic arcade titles, along with three pinball machines make this a go-to Beacon locale. The beer selection is great and the cocktails are cleverly (or corny) titled to match the aesthetic. The outdoor space is nice as well.
Fun retro gaming bar. Good variety of drinks and mocktails. Prices fair and live music from time to time.
We just stopped in for a few arcade games during the day. It was great, although the change machine stopped working while we were there.
Happy Valley is a breath of fresh air. Outdoor space (with space heaters), arcade games including The Simpsons! Great local beers, music, and super friendly service! Highly recommend.
Great outdoor seating and awesome selection of beers, including local beer. Also got the vegan chicken nuggets- they were AWESOME! Good vibes, highly recommend.
Love love love it. Such nice staff, amazing games and really affordable. Great beer selection. JURASSIC PARK PINBALL amazing.
We had our Welcome Happy Hour for our wedding here and it was amazing! Lauren was so easy to work with, and the event was so fun and a great kick off for our wedding events. Contract and payment were easily managed, and I can't stress enough how fun it was! Highly recommend for a private event or just to go in general! We always have a blast here.
This place is so fun and has such a cool atmosphere to drink in even if you're not playing games! Service is really nice, looking forward to the next time I visit!
Hands down my FAVORITE bar in the Hudson Valley. Old school arcades, amazing beer list, delicious cocktails, and such bright, fun, and inviting decor inside and out. Day-drinking, late night PBRs, after-dinner drinks. You honestly can't go wrong at this friendly, fun local spot.
Awesome arcade with FANTASTIC cocktails and mozzarella sticks that will make you see God. Great selection of new and old games, pinball and an awesome, old school photo booth. Staff is insanely nice and fast. Just a great place to hang out solo or with friends.
Johnny the owner, the bartenders, and sound guy were super accommodating and kind to my band when we played there! The blue margaritas are amazing, and the vibe is great. Highly recommend this spot if you are in beacon and are looking for a cool place to hang and play some arcade games, or are a band looking for a cool place to play! Also would like to note that they have the sickest merch
Food was poor and the bartender was making me uncomfortable the entire time. The show going on was so loud too! Will not be returning.
I had an exceptional experience at Happy Valley Arcade Bar, especially during the smash tournament hosted by TJ Del Reno. His welcoming demeanor and extensive knowledge about the space added immensely to the enjoyment of the event. Happy Valley Arcade Bar offers a fantastic environment for both tournament play and casual exploration of their arcade games. The space itself exudes a unique and vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complements the retro gaming theme. I will definitely be returning not only for f
Bartender lady, early 30s nose ring brunette, was cold and rude. We were very pleasant and she slammed the drinks down spilling them on the counter and never ever wiped it up. She never even spoke to us. Only about 20 games in the place, best one being worked on and not available. Drinks were great. NA speciality drinks, made very well.
Hands down one of the best bars in Beacon. The ONLY bar in the area with an arcade. The owners are superb, staff is amazing. Creative drink menu, great food. If you haven't visited this spot, I highly recommend checking it out.
We hosted our Friday wedding weekend welcome party at Happy Valley and couldn't be happier with our decision! We rented out the bar for 3 hours so we had the entire indoor and outdoor space to enjoy. The bar staff did an amazing job keeping up with the drink flow and keeping tables/common areas tidy. The Bar Manager, Lauren was incredible to work with - she was so responsive and informative, we had a lot of questions and she always was prompt with a helpful response. We also brought in catering from Miz Hat
Smaller spot but good game selection and well priced drinks
the atmosphere and people here are awesome. Great people great games great times.Especially Dev Yeah, you
A funky cool spot with an insane number of arcade games and pretty good food and drinks. Definitely a recommended late night spot in Beacon.
Can't go wrong here! Unless, you don't like cool stuff and fun, I guess. Great selection of games, good, slightly upscale/gourmet bar food, very nice outdoor patio, and the games. Just really cool atmosphere, and "vibe", though I'm normally loathe to utter that word. My daughter and I love it here, can't get enough. Owner seems great, had a problem with the photo booth, he opened her up, gave us cash and we had a try again, worked fine that time. Great attitude and helpful. Wish I drank more (said very f
Great local bar with life music
Happy Valley is the best! Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and great spaces indoor and out. Very kid and dog friendly. We have also hosted a private event with them and the team was excellent to work with.
Best place in to hangout in beacon! The staff are the most awesome people and the overall atmosphere is such a good time. They have great cider selections and fun seasonal cocktails. They even have vegan food options!
Hark, noble souls, for I recount my wondrous quest to the fabled Happy Valley, an arcade bar of legendary renown. With five stars, this realm transcends time, offering a treasure trove of arcade games, from ancient charms like Pac-Man to modern marvels. Amidst vibrant lights and decor of yore, the sagacious staff share arcane gaming secrets, elevating all who venture forth. Libations and delectable fare sustain one's spirits, and in gatherings and contests, camaraderie blooms amidst the clatter of buttons a
I really liked the concept and the bar backs were friendly, but this could easily be so much more! Multiple games needed to be serviced and they could easily fit more games into the good sized space. Not asking for Dave and Buster's but here should be more, find a middle ground and you'll have far more business.
It has the original Lost World game. Those who know should be excited. I do wish a bit more love was given to the machine - the guns need recalibrating and the screen dipped out a few times. Still, the fact they HAD it - and also had a tekken 3 cabinet, deserves 5 stars in my opinion.
We enjoy Happy Valley! The pretzels are really good.We bring our older grandchildren when they are in town.??
Wonderful games and beers, and the outdoor patio is just plain magic! My only small gruff is that the pinball machines should let you put your initials in for bragging rights on the high score. That being said all the machines are well serviced and in magnificent condition!
Happy Valley is the perfect name for this upbeat and friendly oasis in downtown Beacon! Upon entering from it's spacious and inviting outside courtyard, one is treated to an amazing visual of bright and colorful artwork on the walls in a well-lit setting complete with lots of seating, great arcade games, and even a photo booth in which to capture the moment! They have a terrific selection of beer and an excellent sampling of unique and delicious drinks. The waitstaff and owners are super friendly as well,
So much nostalgia in a nice location and friendly staff the place is fantastic I definitely recommend coming for a fun time with friends or alone if you want that solo kick of nostalgia. Everything is either 25 cents or 50 cents to play time flies by on 10$ alone!
I got tater tots here and the service was so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and mood is unparalleled, what a wonderful place.
Not inclusive, was asked to leave for no reason. The couple next to me was baffled as to why aswell. Bouncer had no idea why either. I was respectful and left but will never return. I don't feel safe as I feel I was discriminated against and embarrassed.
My gosh, I love this place! The outdoor patio is on Main Street but also tucked away so you don't feel like you are on display. The drinks are cold, the bartenders are friendly, and the tater tots are crispy. This is a great place for a cold brew after a beautiful hike up Mt Beacon.
This place is the best!!!!! Great games and vibe. Plus amazing staff and selection of fun weekly and monthly events. We love going there! ??????
I've been here quite a few times and I can't say anything bad about it besides one thing, not every bartender will be as nice as the other reviews say. I had a bartender straight up lie about closing my tab, because 10 minutes after she snapped at me when i had asked if it was closed or not, I had another bartender close it for me because im not stupid and you aren't taking my money, no matter how drunk I am. She was also just rude everytime I had asked for anything, and sadly she was the only bartender tha
Such a cute place to chill and vibe out with friends. Kristin was beyond amazing! So sweet and super friendly. She really did make the time there more enjoyable. She also had a banging playlist! Drinks were sooo yummy! Can't wait to go again when it's warmer out!
Did not eat here. They do have food and table inside and outside you can use. The games are all classics. We had an issue with a couple of games. Def worth a visit if you want to feel like a kid again from the 80,s.
Marge-a-Rita me please! Not only are the cocktails so good (and based on sweet vintage arcade games!) but they're affordable too. The vibe is super laid back, the mural inside is amazing, patio is huge and the staff is all friendly.
Had a private event here and the guests absolutely loved it. The arcade games were a massive hit (and were well maintained and high quality games). Great space/location!
The absolute best place to be at to chill and play some games. Went on a Sunday and the vibe was sooooo cool. Fell in love with it
Great machines and atmosphere, disgusting pizza, and I do not appreciate the statement they make with the flag toward the back wall. Nevertheless, five stars because it is a great arcade.
This was a really fun place to go to! The food is great, the drinks are pretty standard but they're featured drink was amazing! And their arcade systems are in amazing shape and they are taking the precautions for safety :) Definitely coming back!
Awesome place, great look and feel. Good classic games and a few modern ones. Games are all $.25 as far as I saw and most seem to be in good working order. (Revolution X and Area 51 were both a LITTLE glitchy, but thats par for the course for old lightgun style games like that). Drinks were good and fairly priced for the area and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back. Hopefully they rotate the games out somewhat frequently.
This was one of the coolest most laid back places I have ever been. Must be awesome when covid is not a thing anymore. Nicest people working there. Had drinks outside in a cool atmosphere with heaters. Ordered some Cuomo tots and we were able the chill with the place to ourselves. Loved Beacon and this place sums up Beacon for me.
The first time i came to happy valley happened to be their first day, great customer service, amazing beer, and a relaxing environment. This is a place to come to when you just want to hang out with friends or play vintage arcade games. I would highly recommend coming here. This was my first time coming here but it won't be my last.
I had a lovely time at happy valley. Very cool merch, delicious chicken tenders, awesome game selection, and of course, a solid selection of craft beers. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun time in Beacon, NY!
A fun addition to Beacon since our last visit! Loved the outdoor space that had plenty of room between tables to properly socially distance, along with the necessary bug spray provided. Eager to come back when we can play all of the arcade games inside!
What a fun place! The games are classic! Enjoyable chill atmosphere-so laid back. The food is typical simple pub food- great for snacking while you're playing games.
I went to celebrate a birthday and stood in a line for 30 minutes to order a drink only to watch the bartenders serve everyone who cut the line claiming they had ?an open tab.? So when it was finally my turn I asked the bartender if they allow people with open tabs to cut the line. She said no. So I said I just watched you serve people cutting the line. Anyways, won't be coming back.
Aside from the long line (Saturday night) to order your food and drinks... we liked it.. lots of old games we haven't played in over a decade... only a quarter to play! Food menu was very limited so we ordered chips n salsa n drinks n went elsewhere for dinner because we were very hungry.. they mainly have small appetizers.. ordered a drink called Rummy in my tummy... it was sweet n delicious..
Super fun place - great drinks and beautiful outdoor area to relax in after a hike. Love how the place is decorated inside and everybody working there was very nice and helpful. Highly reco for casual drinks in Beacon
Great bar with local brews. Great vintage arcade selection at 25 cents for most games. ATM and bathroom available
Great place to go for a few drinks, play some classic arcades (and pinball), and they do have some event nights as well...
I never leave comments; literally never - but I've had my last horrible cocktail from here . I usually get a margarita and the past few times it has been un drinkable .
A lot of IPA'S and fun mixed drinks. Not to many domestic beers thought. A lot of fun for kids as well.
I really enjoyed this arcade, it took me back to the 80's playing Pacman! ?? Drinks and food were good, tried the vegan chicken nuggets... Excellent!! Lovely atmosphere! Staff was very nice, especially the young lady who was working there this evening! Can't wait to go back!!
This is a fantastic local bar. The vibe, drinks and food is brilliant. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy an easy drink with mates, listen to some great tunes, enjoy some delicious drinks and pick up some sweet merch then I highly recommend this local watering hole.
Love it! The video games all work and bring back great memories. Beer selection is much bigger than you'd think it would be. The only bad thing is that I'm not as good as I was at Centipede forty years ago. ??????
Wouldn't let me in simply because their scanner wouldn't work with my ID. Tried to show them other proofs of my identity and they wouldn't accept it. Probably will never come back and would not recommend going there.
What a blast! Cool space, game selection eas excellent. Bartenders super nice. And, really fun to spend only $.25 on games and reasonably priced food/drinks
Great concept for a place, really lay back and fun atmosphere, drinks were good, the only reason for a 4 stars is because our table was sticky and even though we order drinks and some chips they never offer napkins. Overall a good place a friendly staff ??
The arcade is really good. Awesome older games. If you're trying to protect yourself and your family though, not such a good place. Not many wearing masks here. It's a shame, we would really like to spend more time and cash but...
I've only been there today, but it was so fun. The staff is quite polite, the games are awesome, and food looks delicious, and it's a great time for kids of all ages. I'm definitely coming back soon!
Not as big or as many games as I thought. None the less, it is still a unique new hangout spot to try. Pretzel was great, but the curly fries were soggy and undercooked.
Very cute place to stop in and hang out as you are touring down Main Street. Kungfu Kickball is an indie game they have on cabinet and my partner is in love and looking to buy it on Steam. If you're in the area and have a group of 4 , give it a go! Didn't have the drinks or food so can't speak to that, but the little photobooth is cracked out and takes your photo with only 2 sec notice after paying so LOL beware !!!! We had to do it twice !!
Nice place, glad we finally can have an arcade bar in Beacon. Beer selection was pretty good and the arcade games were great. Needs a few more pinball tables or at least fix the ones there that were broken.
Great arcade. Perfect prices. Good drinks, great service. Date night, and any night approved. Variety of games. Friendly service.
biggest plus here is the outdoor area. otherwise, the arcade has a sparse, bland selection of games and smells like a daycare. skip it and hang out at max's or quinn's, both a short walk away - unless you need a spot to dump the kids, so youre not drinking in front of them.
Cannot overstate how awesome these guys are. Opened 2 months ago and still going strong. Looking forward to their popup with Fuchsia Tiki Bar soon. Wonderful beer options, their exactly what Beacon needs right now.
They could do so much better.... The games are okay but could be a bit more nostalgic or varied. The food is terrible but who cares... I went for a beer and some games.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
