Gutters Bowling

Gutters Bowling

Reviews Summary

Gutters receives mostly positive reviews for its fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food (especially pizza and beer). Many enjoy family time and group outings here. However, some criticize slow service, equipment issues, and occasional food quality problems. A few negative reviews mention disorganization, long waits, or political objections to events. While most rate it 5 stars, some lower ratings highlight inconsistent experiences. The bowling alley is praised for cleanliness and vibe but faulted when lanes malfunction or staffing is inadequate. Overall, it’s a popular spot with room for improvement in service reliability.

Gutters was a completely unique and uplifting sporting experience. We played two games and almost even finished the second one! Disappearing balls, dogs eating small children?s pizza, intermittent butt rock anthems, and a rotting RV parked in the lot at the end of an unpaved road the ancient Romans would have scoffed at. Although Gutters is a strike, I'm no turkey.

On December 31st. I brought my family to celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday we spoke with a young man at the front desk we went ahead to go on and Bowl and we enjoyed every minute of it but for some reason they couldn't get the bumpers to work for the first part of our game then we decided to order some food being that the children were hungry. The same young man that took payment from us arriving at gutters took our order. After our order was taken I asked how good their salads are the young man with lon

Made an appointment and then showed up to no empty lanes. Was told it was a 9 minute wait so we waited at the tables for 45 minutes. Decided to just leave after smoking multiple cigarettes in the bathroom and shaving my pubes in the sink.

Awesome service. The tastiest food. Fried pickles are my new fav in the state. Shishto peppers and bowling? Don't mind if I do! Beer and wine. Pool. Air hockey. Video games that work! If your in taos just come by and see for yourself.

We went here with a group of friends. We had a great time. Friendly people and good beer too! We will definitely go back. Might even join a league!

My only complaint is that they don't have their prices on their website. It would be nice to plan a visit knowing how much you're going to spend before you go. Thank you!

Bowling lane kept jamming up! They had a kids party there! Well they had pizza where I was told you couldn't eat! Staff didn't say a word. Kids got all the bowling balls full of grease!

My daughters birthday,it was fun for them. A little unorganized. Not enough help, but they did there best

It took over a hour past their normal time for them to open because they didn't have cash on hand.

The long haired young man who works there does an incredible job. He's friendly, hardworking and super polite. Our experience is always great when he's working. He's definitely got the edge on the customer service but even when he's not there it's a decent place to go. The area is clean, the food is pretty good, and everything works. There's lots of selections of balls and shoes and even a couple of arcade games to play if you don't feel like bowling.

10/10 went there with my girlfriend and had alot of fun.

In a town where there isn't much to do, Gutters provides a safe, fun, family friendly form of entertainment. The place is well-maintained and clean, the food is really good, and the owner is a sweetheart who always pauses to talk and personalize the experience, even when she's obviously very busy.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place is a joke. Our lane stop working 3 time for 10 minutes each time. A total of 30 minutes of our 1 hour time. The person at the front desk had to keep getting the bartender to go fix it. Which took forever since he was working the bar. They couldn't move us due to reservations. We paid $50 & didn't get to play half of our time. I told him I wanted a refund & he gave me $15. REALLY WE PAID $50 & DIDNT EVEN GET TO PLAY. They also had to move the original person next to us for the sa

Really fun bowling alley. Relaxed, clean and a good time for a bunch of teen hockey kids killing time. It saved the day seeing as how bad our hotel was. Quality Inn would not kids play air hockey and pool, but Gutters was amazing.

Fun times.. famliy times! Nice place. Hard working folks there!

Pizza is great! Toppings filled to the edge and crust is rolled over so there's a pleasant surprise in the crust. If you like ranch with your pizza they got the good buttermilk stuff. Social Hour beer on tap (my favorite). 4 stars for waiting a long time for service.... but that's a post covid, no one wants to work thing. The staff that was there were super friendly and accommodating to my 6 year old daughter. Had lots of fun and we'll be back again and again (local)

Fantastic Pizza and cold draft beers! The staff is great. I've seen music and comedy shows here that were super fun but also love to bowl or just sit at the bar and hang. ??

Lots of fun on a snowy day. Friendly staff, good food

Good fun in Taos!! Great food and live music

Went for my husbands birthday with his parents. Had fun but the food was just terrible. Everything was either too dry or overcooked. Mozzarella sticks were good but they tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a while. Spent $100 just to get food poisoning.

Over priced and cosmic bowling is to dark can't even see your ball. And the lanes are uneven.

The management here is completely unacceptable! I recommend driving an hour to espanola for better bowling experience! After a promised reservation, we show to the place 10 til our set time, I get a text five minutes in from manager standing across us stating we cant bowl due to broken lanes and league is first priority! Not even a sorry, I'll give you another day for free or something to make it right! Won't be going back or supporting!

Shelly is an unfit business owner. She is childish and unprofessional. She has kicked out multiple minors including myself regarding her sons personal issues with them. She has physically put her hands on me which is not legal as well as grabbed my phone out of my hands without my consent. I would not support her business if you wants your moneys worth. this behavior is not okay and if gutters was really struggling, she would care more and not kick out paying customers. But, she doesn't, and her business wi

This is my second time bowling here. First time was cool. But the second time? I got there and had a flat tire, I asked the kitchen staff for help and thankfully they were more than willing to help me out! After finally getting my tire changed i was able to bowl two games. Staff was still awesome and friendly. Will be back again! I can't thank them enough for helping

Small, relatively clean facility. Love the seating. A bit pricey for a bowling alley. They can wait to run your card until the end of your game in case you chose to have food or partake of libations. A server comes around to take drink orders which is a nice touch. Little bit more personalization in a smaller facility. Overall enjoyed visit.

Came in on Sunday, only two guys when clearly they needed 4 to run efficiently. Came in at 430, was told it would be 5 before a lane would be available in that time so we ordered pizza, a group of kids that were walkins were given a lane 5 minutes after we tried to reserve a lane. Clear that the guys skipped us and never put us down for a lane (he never asked our names btw, just told us we can wait at the bar), ended up paying for the pizza we never got to eat and left. I don't mind over crowededness or sho

Took my 2yr old for the first bowling experience and we had a blast together. We will definitely be back. Would have been 5 stars but when I first got there I had to wait until two employees finished talking for service! Horrible first impression. Then the lady behind the desk decided to reach over and grab my child?s foot without asking when I was trying to measure him for shoes! Couldn't believe someone would just rudely touch another persons child like that. I think she was a manager; which makes it wors

Great venue for after hour shows!

Been to gutters twice.with children 6-9 year Olds and 15 -17 year olds.everyone had agood time. The staff is very helpful.

We had a great time bowling! There were 5 of us, and purchasing by the hour worked very well. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I expect we will spend a lot of time here!

12 lanes which is pretty good to accommodate a town the size of Taos. Love their choice of music, switching it up between oldies and hip hop. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and wood fired pizza which is awesome. Always have a great time at gutters!

Had a great time bowling with the family. Staff was very helpful and attentive. This was our first time going bowling here in Taos and they helped us with all our questions and our large part of 13. Food was good. Loved the truffle fries. Thank you for a great experience Gutters.

The bowling was fun but expensive. The majority of the low rating is because as we were leaving, after eating a pizza and cheese sticks, I noticed the guy that works in the kitchen walk out of the kitchen holding a small puppy and showing him to the kids around the bowling alley. He then took the dog back to the kitchen and, though I didn't see it take place, I don't feel like he had sufficient time to wash his hands before coming back out and prepping a pizza behind the bar. Again, I can't say for sure he

This place is a gem. Food, drink and, lane prices are a little high but, well worth the experience of bowling with friends and chatting with the folks on either side of your lane. It is even better when their is live music especially when Laguna Munta rocks the house! Give it a go. I recommend going with 3-4 friends to split the lane admission and go with the intention of having a great time.

Very modern facilities, including cozy lounge seating at each lane, and pretty reasonable prices. However, it was really warm inside during our visit (like ~80 degrees) which made bowling into a sweatier activity than usual. Not sure if they usually keep it like that it if there was an issue with the AC, but other than that it was a delightful experience.

So much fun! Gutters is the best place for happy hour with friends. I had the best time playing air hockey, bowling, etc while having drinks with friends! Also, they have some suppper good pizzas! Great for dates :)

Great place. I was really impressed with how friendly everyone was here. Nice lanes and scorekeeping system. The food we had was really good too. Will go back

Over priced, short staffed, uneven lanes and cosmic bowling is way to dark you can't even see your bowling ball. This place has gone down hill.

We were visiting, from out of town, and came across this cute bowling alley. The owner was so nice and friendly. We enjoyed the set up and atmosphere.

The food took forever. I, we literally waited 45 for my pizza. Finally it was done and I saw her walking towards me and she dropped the pizza. She Didn't even tell me. And I had to wait another 30 min for the new pizza. Then I asked the waitress with black hair if my family?s food would be out soon her answer: the food comes out whenever it's done we are busy (with an arrogant b*tch face) if you visite this place just dont eat here. It takes forever plus it's not good food. So really a waste of money. The p

This place is absolutely disgusting by hosting a drag queen show targeting children. I ask that all conservative God fearing Taose?os join me in boycotting this establishment. Leave our children alone!

Chef Dave and his perfectly medley of homemade Cajun spices on the crispy thin cut fires will leave me coming back for more. Hospitality 10/10. Thank you and the crew! - Maya, WI 10/6

Never enough employees. Today was the worst. One employee doing everything. Had to wait 20 minutes for the one overworked employee to get people set up for bowling, make pizza, take drink orders. Not much fun bowling when you have to keep running back and forth to the line for drinks and then take your turn bowling.

At gutters they will treat you like you're family. This is the cleanest, classiest, nicest bowling experience you will come across. Great food and drinks. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available! My family loves to bowl at gutters

Fun spot! It looks brand new, we were in town for summer vacation so we took the family. Great beer and food, highly recommended for everyone! Bumpers are available for less experienced bowlers.

Party reservation with pizza resulted in no pizza dough, appetizers instead. Ordered burgers to find out half the ingredients were out of stock and 40 minutes to get food. Not very organized but bowling was ok. Lanes getting old and equipment as well.

Went with partner and daughter. Owners dog bit me and she threw us out. Owner called me horrible names. Full refund.

We come here for the youth league on Sunday. Misty does her best but the house is completely disorganized. Lanes are not oiled nor are they kept clean. The lane gutters and dividers are covered in dust. The have one person working and they are always running around to do things. They could have a great house if they were to run it better.

This is a nice little bowling alley with friendly and helpful staff. A good place to go for some family fun.

WORST PLACE EVER !!!!!!!First experience at Gutters for a birthday party and it will be my last. The communication is not there between employees and even tho lanes were reserved ahead of time we only got half of what was reserved. Food was good but experience was horrible!!!

Little pricey, but a nice get away to have a few beers, brick oven pizza and a variety of appetizers. Friday Nights are cosmic black light bowling with a live DJ playing , 90's '00's and Top 40.

Took my family bowling on a slow Monday night got a lane right away. My food took one and half games to come and cups of salsa were halfway full and my kids were literally wiping uncooked flour off the bottoms of their pizza with a napkin. I have kitchen experience and brick oven pizza experience and it literally looked like they put the hot pizza right in flour. Food was not worth the price or wait and the staff was too busy talking to her friends at the bar to check on the food in the proper time

Went to gutters to take my son for the weekly bowling club. Waited 10min at the shoe rental stand and no one helped then went to the food outlet and was told by a cook that he would help in one minute. 10 minutes later still no help.. after 20 min of no employee helping or even seen other then the cook. we left. My son was more then upset. And I cannot even believe how bad/nonexistent the customer service is. I will not return

Best bowling in Taos! Met the owner, she is awesome! Wood fired pizza is the best! They make their own dough and sauce. A must have!! Midnight bowling is a blast!!

It was a 1 woman show multi-tasking,the bar,the shoe/lane assignment desk, concessions and a birthday party so needless to say it was slow motion frm out the gate. Her attitude to it all was great & quite funny. But didn't getta chance to do what you normally do at a bowling alley cause all the lanes were reserved. So i gave 2 stars to the 1 woman show on a busy Saturday nite, 2nite another 1 man show @ the Gutters Bowling alley in Taos,NM,Winter bowling leagues are serious in Taos

Gutters is pretty amazing just as a bowling alley, or as a restaurant, but combined it's AWESOME. Really - how many bowling alleys have a pizza oven and make their own veggie burger from scratch?! Went last night for the first time - free bowling, for the ENTIRE COMMUNITY, sponsored by Gutters and other local businesses to benefit a community member in need. There were families bowling, raffles, live streaming from a local radio station and overall just a wonderful all ages event! Mid-century modern may

Forced us to Pay extra money since there was a random band playing that night, you will be kicked out if you don't pay. They told us the band was playing in about 15 minutes, we bowled for a full hour and they were just announcing who they were when we were leaving.

Outstanding. Shelly runs a great business and our family had a wonderful time.

nice place to bring the family. Brand new bowling alley very clean. really good food and drinks. only thing I could say negative is the prices are a little high. besides that definitely worth it

Had a blast we ended up spending hours there. The owner was awesome! The kids had fun we will definately be back.

Kids had there football party to night it was fun kids had lots of fun Cook's need hair nets food was nice n hot I will take my kids again may be after the New year's no school for 14 days (weekends too)

Gutters is clean, fun and atmospheric. Staff and owners are lovely people. Really like it here (and I'm not a bowler so bowling alleys are typically not my favorite.)

My daughters favorite place to hang with daddy .. Always lots of fun .. great place to take the family/friends and decompress! Great food great service great beers 5 starts from me ????????

Friendly, clean place with a great vibe. We played some video games and enjoyed an evening around a bunch of great people. We'll definitely come back!

Staff needs to be better trained in hospitality and hire more staff to fill needs on Friday and Saturday night crowds. Also, care about the quality of your products and food you're serving.

Fantastic, lanes can fill up quick, reservations are somewhat recommended. Great staff, exceptionallly accommodating. 5 thumbs up

Great atmosphere, staff and the pizza was great! I enjoy it every time.

There chicken tenders were so good and mushroom sandwich was so good. My grandson had so much fun playing arcade games and liked bowling. i recommend going there

Fun enjoyed family time visiting in Taos with Grandma! My daughter want a few stuffed animals from the claw.

The lanes were clean and fast. The environment was great with the kids. We were visiting the area, but would definately come back.

Took the kids bowling and they had a great time, the food was good and the live music is a nice treat.

It was awesome, loved the beer selection, couches and food. Bowling was fun, and my younger daughr loved the helper. Great time.

First time at it. All in all, it was a great family fun day! Customer service was excellent and establishment was very clean.

Had a great experience at Gutters! It is the first classy bowling alley I have been to. The food does not disappoint either!

First time on Saturday ( 30 April 2022) and we will be back ! The pizza was excellent!??????

Best place to have fun with friends and family in Northern New Mexico. The pizza is crazy good also better check it out

This is not just a bowling alley. It's a bar and restaurant with bowling lanes. Shelley is so friendly and welcoming, you'll feel like a local from the moment you step in.

Great place to go on a Wednesday night for great music and very good bar food....fun fun people there!!!

The beer was cold and the wings were good but our bowling alley kept breaking down. Aside from that it was alot of fun.

Had a wonderful time fantastic service enjoyed the pizza a great Gathering of all types had a 70s theme going on fantastic outfits

It's way too expensive. I would rather buy a set of plastic pins for $10 and let all the kids bowl on payment in the hood. Gettofabulous but memories can be made.

Great locally owned bowling alley. They have great food - we enjoyed it so much! New, clean and fresh.

had a great time playing with the kids! pizza was delicious, and they have fun beer options!

Great night of music and bowling! Fantastic food. Family friendly, and a great kids experience!

I think they need to hire more help. Otherwise, a really fun place. Nice to see their success and growth.

I love this bowling alley. It's a heartwarming place and is suitable for the whole family! Good staff and the owner is a wonderful lady !!

Had a wonderful time. I absolutely love this place and will be taking my family back.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
