The Worse Services, The Owner Didnt Come Down To The Bar When I Wanted To Buy Some Shots. He Also Said He Didn't Feel Like Working When Me & My Sister Asked For Our Shots, One Of The Worse Places To Go. Also When We First Walked In My Sister Had Orange Juice & The Worker Said She Couldn't Come In With It My Sister Responded It's Only Orange Just Then The Worker Said My Boss Will Scream At Me If I Let You In With It, I Understand That We Cant Bring Any Outside Food Nor Drinks In But It Was Literally A Half A
We called ahead and the message emphasized no outside food or drinks allowed. It would've been nice to get the drink I wanted. Rather, we were told they don't make the drink there (LIT). So if you aren't making my drink of choice, why do you have a fully stocked bar? The bar was dusty, dirty and full of boxes everywhere. On another note: Almost 2024 and this place is a CASH ONLY establishment. Another inconvenience. We had a great time overall, but I won't be returning.
I brought 12 kids here for my sons birthday on Saturday, and they had a great time! We stayed for almost two hours. The two ladies behind the counter were nice, patient, and organized. The place was clean, and we had no issues whatsoever. The bathroom was clean overall but should be checked more often and have more hand soap and preferably paper towels to dry hands. As for food, I knew we couldn't bring any in, so we ate beforehand.
Wow I was going to take my parents bowling tonight and I saw this place had a low review rating so I decided to read them and now I am completely turned off about how this place conducts there business and the replies from the management team keeps calling the customers unintelligent, liars , and there's this gentleman that works there that keeps watching people throughout there time there. Why are you guys not fixing the issues?? Just have cameras Learn customer service and respect Understand that you are
Terrible experience, went here with my family and was watched and starred down by a older man while we played for an hour and a half, the whole time we was there he stood directly in back of us and watched us like hawks, And on top of that they are outdated in music selections and do not accept card. Worst bowling alley I've ever been to and will not be spending money here ever again
Deserves no stars everything is old outdated. They charge you 20+ dollars and you only get ONE GAME ! They sold me an expired bag of chips I took it back and showed them didn't say sorry didn't give me a refund didn't care ! Would never go back here and oh it's smells old as hell
Though it's not the best of the best, I still had fun. I saw reviews say the music wasn't up to date I'd disagree it was very tik tok type of music. The woman that hands the shoes is very nice. It does smell old in there but it's not the worst you'll get used to it as you play. Wish there were more arcade games though. Things to know Prices a Per Person Per Game (I'm gonna try to put a picture of the prices this is July 2023 prices) Bowling Shoes are included in price No outside Food or Drinks so eat befor
Fun reasonable prices. My only complaint is bathrooms need remodeling. Truth is they probably are prejudice but if we had to base our lives on who feels however they feel about us, we would never enjoy ourselves. Live life like your dying. Smiles!!! GOD bless us all !!!!!!! I want to know what happened to my pictures? They were crisp and clear. Now they are all blurry and some are missing. Humm???
Place is stuck in the 1900s. Music is not in this time zone. No food. The bar is horrid. Rude sitting down eating watching tv. Only beers after 6pm, but the woman handing out the shoes is nice and the man worker who cleans was very helpful. This place smells very old. I wouldn't recommend
I wanted to take my child and his best friends to my childhood bowling alley, I should have stop when I seen the lights off. Every question I asked there was an excuse, it's not child friendly in my opinion. The lanes have no lights, nor does the lane have accuracy of keeping score. This place has truly declined in its customers service and bowling experience. The kids made the best of it!
If I can write a review without giving one star I would rather do that, this place is horrid for children?s birthday parties! It smells like old cat pee their pizza taste old the lanes kept getting stuck and the guy in the front ?Jose? refused to supply utensils for the cake. I wouldn't recommend this place if it was the last place on earth, extremely dissatisfy? The office looks like a junk yard, the carpet in the facility looks like it's been here since 1960. They don't have the right bowling balls for ch
The rumors were right. The white old short guy watches you all night! We didn't bring no outside food or drinks; and when I asked him for an alcoholic drink his response was that it's a family friendly place but they have an entire bar room????. That was alittle confusing but one things for sure I won't go back and I'm born and raised in the Bronx .. go somewhere else!
Went here Saturday 3/30/24 with family and the prices have changed since I last went but not too much. Used to be $12 but now it's $15. Still a lot cheaper than other bowling places in NYC and that's what I love about this place is its affordability. Also love that show rental is FREE!! A huge plus that I don't see other establishments have. Didn't get any food or drinks because we ate prior to coming so I can't comment on that. Overall we had fun; we bowled two games which took about an hour and the worker
Fun place with many lanes and a few arcade games and some vending machines. Electronic scoring with bowling gifs and music videos. Beer is available, but no food yet. Bus stops for the BX 28 and 38 are right in front of the alley and across the street on Gun Hill Road.
It was horrible here. They are super racist and very disrespectful. Firstly, as soon as we walk through the doors we are ambushed by some white guy telling us we can't bring our bags in but i?m a female. I have female things going on so yes i needed to bring a bag in with me. He started screaming and broadcasting it to the whole bowling alley that we can't bring nothing so we went back put some things in the car and came back. He then proceeded to stare at us the whole time. (We were the only people of colo
Used to be awesome but now it looks like there closing down. Only bowling lanes are open. Nothing else. No food or beverages, no other games.
Nice place to bowl. Havent been there in a long time. Service was good, but in this modern time you must be able to adapt and accomdate customers with #atms and take debit or credit cards. Thats why I gave them only 3stars. Other then that just went to let the kids have fun. Word! #Pinkiesup
good place to go hv fun, owner surprised all customers on friday with pizza. Nvr seen that before.
They need to upgrade them rough bowling balls. There never any cooks or bartenders on the premises. But extremely family friendly
First I called to make an appointment but they told me I didn't need one. They asked the size of my bowling party and told me all the rules. You have to wear a mask, someone 21 or older must be there and you have to pay cash. Ten dollars per person, per game.
Amazing service my gramps been gong there for the past 10 years always super nice I went today 10/10 recommendations nothing Brocken they Evan thought me how to hit my first strike today ????
I had an amazing night with my bf Everyone was so kind and respectful 100% recommend
The place is just plain boring. No music, food or regular drinks or adult drinks. No discounts on groups. Just bowl and leave. Expensive for no reason.
This place was great iv e never been bowling before the guy in the front was s?per nice and funny my 5 faughters and i love it we will definetly back love the music the inside temp. The atmosphere Awesome place for families
Been going to this bowling alley since middle school, I'm glad they finally upgraded their outdated screens/bowling system looks way better especially with the purple lights. Unfortunately, our lane messed up 3x causing us to reset it. One of the balls also got stuck. The system is slow retrieving your ball as well but not a big issue. Just hated having to reset the pins to correct the game. Still to this day Cash only no credit cards accepted, it's 2021 should have that option available technology is risi
I couldn't get a good drink yet we had fun played 2 games too till it closed. Welcome back Cal.
Nice spot in the Bronx .. decent crowd and very family friendly
It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. It was just really expensive
Would have loved to at least get a drink , would have loved to give this place 5 stars, but there wasn't any food, even finger food, the music could have rotated between ages , some of the games and vending machines were down, there was literally 2 staff members, cash only would have preferred debit cards
My family and I had a Great time and the staff was nice and understanding!
This place is okay if you just need something to do. They have no air, no real food and they do not take cash nor will they let you bring in food from outside. That would be cool if they offered food.
The worst place to go to DO NOT bring your family there the pizza was burnt the beer was watered down and the place has a smell to it. Everything is old school no upgrade at all..
Went there for a date night out, the shoes are very old, need to be replaced, they only accept cash, and the socks are $4 a pair ,but overall it was ok, we did enjoy the night
Me and my girlfriend are going today because we want to have fun today we only going because the owner is a gangster the clap backs is funny stop bashing his business I think me and my girlfriend are going today because have fun
This is horrible. I wanted to take my kids here to have a good time but after reading all these horrible reviews and the trifling responses from management is crazy! Every review can't be fake. No accountability whatsoever. & everyone seems to be saying the same thing so theirs no way it's a lie. Yikes ?? how in the world is this place still open? lol
That place seemed very unpleasant to me since I entered, there was no one in the office and I spent about 5 minutes waiting for someone and no one showed up. Then I saw a man who seemed to me to have a uniform and I went to him to find out if he worked there. place, he was using his cell phone and when I asked him, he worked there, he looked at me up and down as if I was bothering him and said yes in a way that I think is not the correct way to treat a Client who only wants information to visit the place, I
This place is great to have family and friend time. Great place to bowl
I can't take it anymore! I wish I could get a job at Gun Post Lanes. I could clean and cook healthy food. I give the customers water, soda and juice. Gun Post Lanes would've have atm machines and accept debit/credit cards
This place is SO disappointing! I met friend's Friday night after work. While waiting for a couple of more people, we decided to sit at the bar and have a drink. The bar was closed. What? One of the employees said he would ask if he could open up, but he never got back to us. At one point, one of my friends went to get food. The snack bar was closed. The only thing they had was frozen pizza. This location is cash only. They don't even have an ATM. I had to go across the the McDonald's for cash. Even the sit
I wish they take credit/debit cards ?? that's the only problem that I have with them. Other than that. It's ok
This place has been around forever. I hope it never close down
This place is ok if you just want to bowl. Because that's all they have. Their food menu consist of just pizza, there vending machines don't work. The owner actually came out of the business and used the bathroom right infront of the place. Smh
Went in with my son not even 2 min ... all I did just looked to see if they had arcade for my son .so while maybe bowl a game or 2 ...like I said 2 min ..the guy behind counter would not alow us to walk.around .....I am with a 10 yrs son want him to play safe ...I wanted to see if place was safe here ......as quick as I entered the quickly I left ....I wanted to see what kind of food they give ....see...the price was good ...I wanted to take out money ...because is cash money place .... guy behind counter
Went with the family on a Tuesday afternoon and had a great time. Good prices, place is a little old but lanes were fine. They have arcade games for the kids as well. Didn't seem like they were serving food or alcohol when we went, but they do have a bar so maybe they serve on some days or occasions.
Never been here before but.... based off of all the reviews, I will not be going. This place seems to avoid all types of accountability. Just stroll through all the negative reviews and notice their response.... They are never at fault... LIKE NEVER. And if that isn't bad enough... They throw tons of shade at those who complain about their business. Hope this helps someone.
The replies from management make me not want to go. EDIT: I went, not bad, and is needed for the neighborhood. Don't worry about vending machine and bar just go bowl and have fun.
I took my autistic grandson for a fun day away from home. I've never been bowling before, but I wanted my grandson to have the experience. We got in, the guy said $10, but he will let us bowl for $5. I gave him $10 and when he didn't give me change, I reminded him he said $5. He started to say I can go downtown and that he didn't need my money. Anyhow, we stayed, my grandson bowled and rested, after a while, the guys gave our lane away and the entire time we were there, there were never more than 3 lanes
On Sunday November 5th, 2023 was my first time, but not the first for my family. We were 3, assigned lane 3. Every thing was fine until the clerk in charge decided to assign a group of 20 the same lane. We were not done. They were rude took over our personal space and planted them selves on our chairs to drop off coats and change shoes. Very inconvenient and inconsiderate. There were probably 15 more lanes he could of given them. I will not go back or recommend this place. Its a shame that incompetent peo
I've never been here and have literally been living 2 blocks from this place. I am giving it one star because of all of the responses from management. It's sad but laughable. No accountability nor humility whatsoever in response to ANY negative review. Blaming kids, blaming parents, blaming teachers, etc. I guess my my dissatisfaction is because I'm literate with eyeballs, huh. What now, you'll tell me how my business isn't needed or wanted or something childish to that effect? Even if you feel that you're
Customer service is rude and disrespectful. My mom took my asd/adhd son there earlier today. She told me how they refuse to give her her change and told her to go somewhere else. Also they took the lane away from them in the middle of the game. This place deserves less then a star for how they treated my mom and special needs son
Service was nice, lanes weren't oiled at all, went and checked by touching. Dry as a bone. Also they don't accept card only cash don't come here!!!( I walked out into your lane I didn't feel at the foul line!!!!)
Horrible Place! Do Not Visit this Bowling Place. The Bowling Pins do not reset. Over crowded no social distance and dirty. The shoes are dirty. The man ruined our evening telling my family to move to give room to a family of eight our space and we where on round 7. Then another man was spraying the plastic yellow dividers and pushing the dividers into my family. Do not go here with your family. I hope they close them down. I gave my shoes and told the lady at the front desk how horrible and rude the old man
These unprofessional staff rushed my family through their game and was extremely rude to them. Don't bother visiting, they will make you feel some type of way. Take your family to a better spot because this is not it. The music was so so bad. They were playing old old olddd music.. The shoes are old and dirty.. The staff are rude and think because they may or may not be associated with the police that they can mistreat and disrespect their clients when they are there to serve us. Your job is to make the env
Today June 24th 2023 I came to gun post lanes to celebrate my son's 15th birthday. I had approximately 4 kids with me. The kids at one point asked for some water. My wife proceeded to get water the owner tells her only the vending machines have water. So now my wife needed singles for the vending machine. The owner stated he doesn't have singles for exchange. My wife then was able to only get 5 singles from the owner. Went to the vending machine. Now the vending machine is out of water. So now we have 4 th
It was Mother's Day. They didn't have any food. They had boxes of pizza for $25...Really. They didn't serve any drinks. They had beer. We wanted cocktails and they didn't bother. We were not happy with the service at all. Not returning there.
NYC DOE teachers do NOT bring your students here. The man who runs it is unkind, unwelcoming and bias. He does not like the kids, thinks the worse of them and will yell at them even when they have done nothing wrong. As a female teacher he had no problem yelling at me as well when I tried to explain to him the situation. One worker told my student to do something and then the other yelled. He apologized to my male colleague and then continued to yell at me when I spoke. Not only are the workers socially ine
Weird and rude place. The welcoming area looks like a jail with dozens of posted admonishments. They have a bar which they seem to have made a effort to look seedy which is open and closed at the same time. Closed for drinks. Open for snide remarks. Never going back.
My family and I had a blast, for first time bowler's we were defeated by grandma.. but we all had fun and a great time in this place,
Just a regular low-key spot, if you dont feel like staying home but don't feel like dressing up. I play 2 games max and leave
The staff are ignorant , when you are with an inexperienced party they rather not add bumpers than make the party happy , when I went I asked to add bumpers nicely and their excuse was that I am too old for bumpers and that they could break, would not recommend
The kids always have fun
I have been a bowler for most of my life. I have never been so offended by how I was treated in an alley in my life. You can't make it up. Bowling is supposed to be a fun experience. The people of Gun Hill deserve that. That is not what they are offering here. The owner is an obvious bigot. Every bad review you read here is just the owner racially profiling people and treating them like nobodies. What is also telling is his responses to those reviews. It's so bad even his own employees are tired of it as
Looked great on their website; expected a variety of food and drinks, and other amenities. Once there though . . No pool, only poor quality pizza, vending machines didn't work, and they only sold beer even though they had a full bar behind them. All I can say is, don't just read their reviews on Google or Yelp, but read their reviews directly on their website and their responses to those reviews . . They literally come at their previous costumers in an unprofessional, overly dramatic and weird way it's almo
SPEND YOUR MONEY AT A BETTER LOCATION!!!!** I came here with my family as a party of 7 this past Sunday 2/5/23. When we arrived at the location it seemed alright at first. Very Mom & pop old school vibe which I thought was great. When making my way up to the booth they have a very clear signs stating "CASH ONLY" and "NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS". Understandable considering we were expecting to buy a variety of food and drinks we assumed they had available. The lack of an ATM on top of the CASH ONLY method is
A great place to bowl, especially on a rainy, Friday afternoon. They just need to crank up the air conditioner a bit as it gets very warm, especially on the right hand side lanes, due to the grill and fryer being on there.
If I could give negative stars I would. As soon as I met they guy he was rude to me. I told him that I wanted to play two games, he said 20 a head so I said okay. There were 4 of us, myself and my 3 children who where going to bowl for the first time. He then goes to ask me"Are you sure? I don't know if you want to do that. No refunds, you can't get your money back." So I asked him if he wanted the business to which he replied it's not about the money. Exactly! It's not about the money so let me pay $80 for
This place is still a staple in the Boro. Wish that they offered better specials during evening hours. Also the bar should be open. However it's still a good time. My son and I always enjoy ourselves.
I came with a mocha frappe and one guy told me I can stay at the door and finished it, I was ok with that because it's cold outside and I didn't want to stand outside with my baby. Then another guy came out of no where and try to kick me out with my kid and said he doesn't care. The worst customer service in the world.
It's ok there no food are drinks and its boring without even being allowed to bring your own food and drinks I'm not fake I'm very much real . I was there with a friend and I wasn't happy with my experience. Maybe I should let her right a review to about this place then u will see how real it will get. Hmmmm I saw a fat guy there with his friend eating and drinking but yet into allowed to bring my own food and drinks to this place
It was a nice to get out the house with family for a bit to do something. The don't serve food or drinks mostly likely due to COVID. The price ranges depending on the time of day you arrived i believe. We went late night it was 12$ per person which included shoes and game. (Cool and affordable) we had a great time! Will return.
It was ok. I enjoyed who I was with more than the place. I'm not from here so I thought the prices were ridiculous. It cost over a hundred dollars for six people to bowl two games. The soda machines were all messed up. When we would make a selection a different soda came out. They had a couple of games which were fun.
WenT 4 "FAM FUN NTE"!! ! iT wz AWZM!! ! We Hd So Mch FUN!! ! oN a Sde NoTe,, , Mke Sure U BrnG Cash,, , TheY Dn*T Tke CarDz.. . ??????????????????
Really pathetic service, Absolutely rude, I couldn't believe it. Go see for yourself if you have money to spare. Btw no food, and if you want a drink from the bar, the manager might say "I can't help you right now, I'm busy" Edit: LOL, Management just replied to this, and called my review "Fake". Strange, because i provided pictures... I bet this is the same rude guy that claims he's always "busy" anyway, when I went there, which was last Sunday, there wasn't Any hot food, ONLY the broken down vending machi
I'm only leaving a review because the service was terrible. The man behind the counter refused to change the tv channel to an NBA game saying its a kids bowling alley and only cartoons would be played (mind you its 9pm on Monday). He then gave another excuse after my group were the only people there stating he did not have access to the remotes because they were locked up in the managers office. He also stated they don't play basketball in that bowling alley. Very inconsistent reasoning and generally poor b
I wont return. Ratchet AF. No music. No drinks were available on a Saturday night. And I was given a speech about the "types of crowds" that determine what time the Alley closes upon arrival. Like cmon. You badmouth your own patrons? Yeah, I'm good.
Will not go again. Cash only, old balls, shoes and lanes.
Do NOT go here, there are old untrained men who rush you through your games because this place is MONEY HUNGRY. They will make you uncomfortable to leave. I left a complaint at the front with the receptionist/check in lady and it wasn't dealt with. Don't waste your money. Music is HORRIBLE. Save your time. Go elsewhere.
We had 60 eighth graders. They jammed us on four lanes. The staff was very rude and disrespectful. Jose even said I look like a very sad person for speaking up for my students. Having that many students on one lane would not allow them to bowl an entire game in one hour. They charged them $15 for one hour of bowling and did not give them shoes.
They definitely updated the music from the last time I was there however it still looks really outdated & I believe that the bar & food she be available to customers besides what's in the vending machines
Great times have been had at this Bowling Alley for quite some time in my family. My son wants to get better at it, so we'll be practicing more often. Clean establishment. Run really professionally. A little pricey currently, but still very enjoyable.
Good place but when the neighbors from the other side play at the same time. The Balls get stuck. The guy that helped us was upset because of that, it was our 1st time there like if we knew. Cash only and there is no ATM. Be prepared to cross to the ATM if u don't carry cash.
We are high school educators who brought 34 of our students here to enjoy a trip. The management was not accommodating in the least and was rude to both our students and our staff. Students were forced to leave if they did not want to bowl in groups of 10. This was by far the most disappointing trip we have ever been on. I will never bring our school or my family here again!
I stopped by to ask for information for a birthday and I was walking with my well-identified service dog and the owner had a very negative attitude. The other person told him I was just fine to look for information for a birthday and he threw me out, be careful with the animals in this place, kill the person with the service dogs, Grace
Customer service was really bad. Bar was dirty. Drinks were expensive and small. If you think bringing up concern with the manager will help you resolve an issue you will be mistaken. I refuse to believe that the rudest old man i've ever met was actually the owner, the way that he treated me and my coworkers was the worst thing i've seen in my life. we are people not animals; tip to the "owner" try to be more civil. If i could rate 0 stars i would.
Extremely rude owner. He was so inflexible with our group of students. The kids were respectful despite his attitude. The place was empty but he required groups of 10. There were 24 lanes but we had to all be stuck in a corner with 3 lanes. No one else came the whole time but we still couldn't spread out at all.
Had a wonderful and great time with my family members and friends ???? lol you should go there it's really fun to have fun with your loved ones. Kennymac
I visited the bowling alley on Sunday, with a group of 6. Wow what a disappointment. They are sooooo run down its not even funny. They have a bar that sells only beer and wine coolers and they have a menu and only sell pizza. (Horrible pizza may I add please don't order it trust Me on this) I felt like I ate a 2 day old re heated pizza. No seriously do not buy the pizza. There was empty bowling lanes yet the gave us a lane where there was already people at. So we kind awas over crowded. The bowling balls ar
Small, old, and some of the vending machines took my money without giving out the goods. The owner was nice enough to refund my money. The bowling floors could use some maintenance. It's small, albeit a good option for local family fun, and competition.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
