Customer Reviews

Good bowling center with great new lane tech. The pinsetters (machines) show their age on the north side especially. Staff is friendly and helpful and prices are reasonable.

Very great place to bowl. Good food. Nice and clean.

Nice atmosphere, huge parking outside, front desk lady was helpful, she told us about an offer if we could wait an hour! What I really hated was that, there were 7 of us playing, 3 of them left early, 1 of our other member wanted to join. So we went to the front lady just to change the name, she made me pay another $10 for that person. I don't think that was okay as we had two lanes to play unlimited until they are closed. Since 3 people left, one person could easily replace them without any extra payment.

A fun place to bowl at and very clean. The daily special of unlimited bowling after 645 to close is a steal at $12 a person with shoes included.

Groton bowling center is located centre of the town it's near to "99 resturant and Pub". It's designed especially for bowling ?? gaming section for kids is also there. Bowling is fun there,I enjoyed alot. Very neat & clean place . For each game $5.50 per person and they provide you bowling shoes ?? charge you extra for shoe .No need of advance booking. Payment made through cash or digital both. Free Drinking water is available. Wheelchair accessible Parking. Public Restroom is also available.

Nice bowling alley, lanes and tables are very close but not anything abnormal. Service is all really great, the bars prices are decent. It was hard finding any balls under 14lbs. All in all a nice experience.

Ehh, summer time sucks, they fill lanes 17-32 first, which are just absolutely garbage, hardly ever oiled

Normally im fine with greasy balls but not when im bowling. Every time my balls come back my fingers would slip out and it was a tragedy

Our lane broke 5 times during one game. We got our shoes free but the momentum of play was terrible due to having to call and wait for the tech guy to run back and forth.

Really good time there! Really clean, great deal on Sundays after 7. Good arcades, and a pool table

Fun time, just make sure to get there early on a Sunday for the discounted bowling.

Had a awesome time. Full bar and great staff. Family atmosphere. Great snack and food options for while playing. Music was up beat. Drinks were on point and not overly priced. We created a wonderful memory in this place thank you...

Never gets my order wrong, has great alleys, and has great staff

We didn't have any issues with the lanes, although they were way too oily for my liking. The main reason for the 2 star rating is the pricing. $6 a game, per person?? When did the switch happen from charging per person instead of by the hour for the lane? It cost $68 for my wife, father-in-law, my 3 year old and myself to play 2 games. We won't be going back for that price.

1st time back here in a long time we had two bowlers to finish up there last frame and we asked if we could finish the game and they said NO. I used to work for a bowling center and we would always let them finish there game. I find this to be against customer service and next time will take the time to spend my money in Norwich

Super fun alley. Space was clean, workers were polite and organized (was a busy night cause of unlimited bowling which is a great deal), drinks were decently priced and overall a pleasent time

$10 all you can bowl is a superior deal. Need more than 1 crapper in the men's room. There was a non-stop barrage absolutely destroying the one toilet available. On the bright side, whatever model toilet that was might stand up to a post Taco Bell colon cleanse.

Most fun I've had in a long time! Lady at the front desk, Renee, was so very helpful despite me sending a rocket to the sweep. Give her a raise! She even came over to help and make sure we were doing alright. Definitely will be coming back soon.

It was a busy place for a Saturday afternoon. A fun time was had by all.

Great bowling alley with a surprisingly fun bar featuring live music. Would go again!

Clean, friendly bowling alley, excellent food and bar.

Had a great time with my beautiful family, new years celebration was spectacular, thanks, Happy new year spare time crew.

I have a wonderful time at Guy's night bowl with my friends

Good lanes, updated equipment, friendly staff, clean establishment. Didn't bowl too well, but laid together plenty of strikes anyways. I'll definitely be going back soon

On 3 separate special occasions the staff and management, ultimately, made our choice easy. I have been sober 9 years. In the process helping others build self-esteem and find healthy and fun hobbies. I've chosen this business for each person that chooses to be a better version of themselves. However, each time we've decided to try this place, we've experienced a very unsatisfactory and unprofessional experience. For example; At 6:30pm we're told "All lanes are shut down until 7pm when our deal starts". "C

The kitchen seemed understaffed, there was just one guy doing everything there. Had some issues with ball return and the pins not being counted correctly. Kids had a good time overall though

Fun place with lots of lanes. Very kid friendly with lanes able to have bumpers put on, and also with slides for little kids to put the ball on. They do have food which is surprisingly good and reasonably priced. They also have a bar with a good tap selection. $6 per person per game is a little expensive, but it is what it is.

Vary clean and fun people working here the bar area is my favorite keep up the great work guys I wish I could be your new DJ let me know

Had my daughter's 4th birthday party here and we ALL had a blast! I had a very large group of kids and adults and the staff was beyond amazing! They were super helpful, super laid back, constantly checking to make sure everything was alright with us etc. We will definitely be visiting here again and will be in our minds for parties! My daughter says she had a BLAST and can't wait to go back! Highly recommend

Good prices, atmosphere and snacks. :)

Was a bit late to their ?unlimited bowling? night, so had to get on a waitlist but was surprised we were able to get a lane for about the last 1-1.5 hours. For $17 each, it includes unlimited bowling and shoe rentals Friday and Saturday night from 8-11p. While we waited for a lane, we sat in the pub area and shared a pitcher of beer. I had a side of mozzarella sticks while I waited. The food was hot, cheesy, with strong cheese pulls! They have about 32 bowling lanes on each side of the building. Since it wa

Had an amazing time. The staff were all amazing. Beautiful and very nice women. Courteous men. The shoes were clean. Balls were decent quality. Drinks in the 808 bar were decently priced. Pizza was awesome. Bathrooms were clean. Really cannot complain about my time spent there.

It was a fun day. The kids loved it. The staff was polite, helpful and DIDN'T make it a long wait to check in or out. Typical Bowling Alley food but it was good and hot. They delivered to the Lane you were on. Didn't have to stand there and wait. This was nice because we could continue to play. First time here. Walked in and were able to get a Lane. Norwich had a two hour wait. People on Lanes next to us were friendly. We will go back.

I take my nephew occasionally on Saturday nights where they have unlimited bowling between 8-11 pm. We always enjoy ourselves and we especially love being able to request music through the online jukebox system. There are two major issues. The tables at the bowling lanes are much too close and we've people at neighboring lanes bump into ours many times. We do not enjoy people crossing into our space when bowling and drinking. There is only one men's toilet. For a facility that easily holds 300 people,

They need to do more maintenance on their machines. Lots of stuck balls and pins. Nice and clean with reasonable prices

The bowling alley was fun and the kids had a great time but the customer service was so bad it ruined the entire experience. There was an issue with a reservation and instead of being kind and talking it out they not only interrupted a children's birthday party but then up charged when the parents tried to fix it. Not only will I not return but we definitely won't be booking any parties here in the future. Such a shame when we have three kids who would love to come back. We will be making the drive to a pla

I've had a blast here! Very welcoming place!

Fantastic bowling! Very cheep but very clean for the price. Very solid lanes. Not trashy. And the food was killer for sure???? the bar is decently priced and makes good drinks. 9 out of 10 over all score on my ratings ??

Great place for a family weekend. The prices were affordable and it was so clean. Everyone was friendly and super helpful.

My friends and I decided to go with Groton Bowling Center this past Friday 5/26/23 The person at the counter suggested we wait until 8 to do unlimited bowling which was a great deal at $17/ Person with Shoe rentals. We stayed got some food then to make it easier my friend fronted the bill for the 7 of us so that we wouldn't hold up the line, we were split into two different lanes. 4 on one, 3 on the other. Midway through bowling my friend had to take off, my other friend wanted to compete against the others

This place is awesome and amazing. The customer service is top notch and the events team was so incredibly awesome and accommodating. I would definitely recommend booking any event with them.

I tried this place over the weekend. It's massive! The bar looked pretty nice, I didn't get a chance to go in as it wasn't open yet. The pricing seemed average at 46 bucks for 2 adults 1 child 2 games each and shoe rental. The big issue though is the bumpers, they need to make it so that it only comes up for the kid or adults that want it. I'd rather pay a little more somewhere else that has this feature like at the casino.

The price was quite good. I recommend only playing one game though. My group of 5 got quite tired and our second (and last) game was not as eventful. This place also does not offer any discounts (military nor student) which I find a little upsetting. The place is quite clean thought which is a refreshing change of scenery of most bowling places. The parking lot is huge and you could see tire lines of people doing wheelies in the lot. Only 5 people can play at a lane at a time.

Great place to bowl with friends and family

Great little alley with multiple lanes on either side of the complex.

three stars because it's fun however it's pointless to have a jukebox you have to PAY for and then NOT be able to HEAR. And when you ask if they can turn it up they glare at you and say nothing

What a nice, large set of lanes they have here! Has a bar, area to order food where my chicken tenders and fries were pretty good! Friendly staff, lively atmosphere. The $10 all you can bowl on a Sunday was a great hit with my friends and I, looking forward to coming back!

This is a fair re view being that I did not actually go in here. I was there for a car meet this past weekend and only 2 people were there. Nice area though. Update: So if you do allow them to use the space then technically by your own admission you do have something to do with them and asking me to remove it will not look good on your image. I gave you 3 stars because the surrounding area was nice; the parking lot itself, the property you maintain that is why I gave 3 stars. I could have easily been mean

We thought we were coming to have a good time. But this place didn't allow some of my friends join us in our lane. They were even refused shoes by a red headed girl. At no point what so ever we're we told that they had a limit of people to a lane. She disrespected my friend and they ended up leaving. I will never come to this establishment again.

Had a great time. Place was clean and staff very nice and helpful.

Me and my friends and family love this place! We have stopped here just for a quick game on the way home with the kids, and I have had adult birthday parties here switching back-and-forth from the bar and the lanes? Always a great time, fair pricing and the staff was friendly! I highly recommend booking a birthday party here, the food was actually really good! I'll be back for sure.

I've enjoyed this place since I was a teen in high school. Since then they're under new ownership, but still a great place, great prices, and they have a really good food menu now! Home of The 808 Bar & Grill as well. Where they have a few wall mounted TV's and a wall sized projector screen to sit and watch the sports games, play pool, or corn hole toss game. Oh and they even have a game room for your kids to play arcade games.. Call ahead for their free bowl schedule and pricing or league info. You'll have

Staff is awesome !! Jen, Brittany are so sweet & accommodating to your every need? Justin & all the guys in the pro shop are amazing, they answer all your questions & get whatever you need to have an amazing bowling experience? YOU ALL ROCK !!!

The food is extremely disgusting it taste overcooked and freezer burned ,the kids working the food station didn't know what I ordered had people standing over my food breathing on it before they figured who it belong to..the shoes are stretched out and old..the drinks are very light my long island ice tea was made with a long island ice tea premix which is very disgusting and cheap of the owners to use..amongst others things like the bathroom dirty no hand sanitizer in sight etc...i will not be returning..i

I wish there was a way to give no stars. The front desk employee and on site manager were extremely rude from the very first interaction of checking into our party reservation. The two women that we had to interact with the entire time were constantly making an effort to turn a civil conversation into a confrontation. The term ?customer service? is clearly not practiced or prioritized with the staff. Please do not support a business who treats paying customers with such disrespect.

Cutest bowling bar area and kind staff. Thanks for a lot of fun memories! They have a great menu and bowling is a blast.

I went for a birthday party with a group of 6 and had a blast until we got charged more than $100 more. Before going, we had called twice the week before and reserved everything and handled the cost. Once we got there, we were given our shoes, got told the new covid rules, and got told we could play in lanes 1 and 2. So we decided to play a game in each lane. We got brought our pizza and workers came several time to check up on us. After the two hours, we were told that we were being charged for 12 people b

Went around lunch for food and bowling but their restaurant didn't open until 4 and we weren't allowed to bring in outside food so played half the games we probably would have before finding lunch elsewhere. The lanes didn't have the second row of dots for approach either which threw some of us off and took a few frames to adjust. Also their prices were higher than what they have posted on their Facebook so ended up costing a couple shekels more than expected. $6/game and $5/shoe rental as of 10/6/23

We did the bowling after dark. Which is on Saturday nights from 10:30pm to 1am. It's 17 dollars all you can bowl. They have a DJ, play some games, and, did one raffle using the numbers on your wristband. It was an inexpensive good time everyone enjoyed themselves. The only real issue was the service at the grill. The staff was not friendly and unprofessional and did not let use know when our order was up and it sat for awhile. Just not a good look. I definitely would skip the food next time. The bar and bow

Go here on a weekly basis, and this one particular time i went to the bar and the lady didnt believe i was of age so i provided my card (im 22) she sold me a gin and tonic i walked out to my table with two 21 year olds who werent drinking, and she followed me to my table asked for their IDs which they didn't have because their wallets were in my car because i paid for everything, and she took my full untouched drink and dumped it out and refused service and would not provide a refund. Terrible bar service,

Had so much fun! And no complaints. Great place to meet with family members of most ages to laugh, bowl, and have a place to meet up together. Also saw an arcade and lounge with pool table, but we weren't using those. I recommend this place to those who haven't thought of it.

To sign up online, you can receive two free games a day. The kids had a great time, it was clean and the staff was friendly. I recommend as a great morning or afternoon activity. Adults can join in the fun as well! Everything is automated so you can take down and put bumpers back up.

Very good prices food was very good. The down part was not knowing if we had a lane to bowl. If you don't make a reservation, which you can only do if you're a party of 6 then it's kind of a gamble. I was happy we managed to get a lane. The day ended up very nice after the lane issue.

Good size bowling alley with updated lanes and scoring technology and newer shoes and balls. The food is good and the bar is really big and a hidden bowling alley bar gem.

Great bowling alley. Thursday night was unlimited bowling. You should plan to either reserve a lane or get there early (before 7).

This establishment offered some of the worst service I've ever experienced. To begin with, we called the the alley and asked if a reservation was necessary; the employee responded by telling us no, and then proceeding to say the alley would be open later in the evening. At this point we decided we would come back at the time she said. Upon our arrival, we were asked if we had a reservation. 25 out of 32 lanes were reserved for the bowling league, which had been there for hours. This left 7 lanes, which appa

Spare time is a fun place for people of all ages to stop in and have some good old fashion fun. They offer great deals on bowling. The staff here is amazing any issues I had they were there quickly and efficiently to resolve it. The bar is a cool place to check out due to all the sports memorabilia they have hanging on the walls. The bartenders are awesome! They know how to make awesome drinks. The snack bar has some great food. From the pizza to the fries to the salads it's all great food. I definitely wil

Do you want to know why your losing money and have to cancel leagues? Try fixing your bartending staff, every bowling alley is only as good as it's service, and the lanes need maintenance.

The place is not bad at all, I just had a bad experience with one of the employees. While I was at a party with friends and family, sitting at a table on my phone I was told to leave the table and the employee grabbed some of our personal belongings to move us and absolutely no one complained. We felt akward, uninvited, and uncomfortable.

It was a great time meeting new friends being here in a new state.

In my opinion, the price to bowl was a little too high for this ally. For 4 people to play 3 games and rent shoes before 10, it was $78 + tax. If the ally was modern and the place was packed I could understand but for the amount of open lanes, I would be much more likely to return if the price was lower. The food was delicious and prices weren't too bad. Wings, pizza, fried pickles, and curly fries were about $40. It was a fun time for the family.

Groton Bowling Center is fantastic! Clean lanes, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Perfect for family fun or hanging out with friends. Highly recommend!

A clean, well kept alley. Large bar available. Reasonable bowling and food prices. Nice staff.

I used to bowl at the here twice a week in leagues, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Due to a bad left knee (torn miniscus) I had to take some time off. The bowling center is under new management and much has improved under their leadership. The atmosphere has noticeably changed at the food preparation area as the help is more friendly and attentive. Food is outstanding. I had knee surgery over a year ago and am returning to bowling for the 2nd half of the 2023/2024 season. I noticed that the bowling Lanes are

So be mindful and maybe even call ahead because there might be tournaments going on, and you as a regular jo might not have a place to bowl. The worker was really nice and said she could put us on a waiting list or come back after five, and maybe there would be lanes open. We came at four and didn't want to wait an hour, but we will know next time. We have bowled here before, and you just never know . People are starting to come out of hiding with Covid so starting to be busier .

Nice place to hang out with friends and family

This bowling alley has become a family weekend tradition for the Lands!! I'll post videos and pictures next time we go. My daughter's first bowling alley trip was here and she loved the lights and music. Service is nice, employees are friendly and the food and drinks are great. I get the cowboy tots every time.

It was fun. Karaoke was entertaining to listen too. However, we were playing pool in the bar, ordered a round of drinks, the bartender came around and cleared our table and told me our drinks were empty. I just set my second drink on the table. I went to the bar to close the tab and she offered me another round. Watch your drinks, it's how they make their money.

I wanted to enjoy my evening here, but I received a healthy dose of food poisoning last night after eating a Chicken Quesadilla I ordered while waiting for lanes to open up. The last 24 hours of running to the bathroom, and trying to decide if I needed to worship the porcelain god, or sit on the throne have been miserable. This was my first experience with food poisoning and after that, I won't be back. The keyboard setup didn't work at all, and the balls were in pretty poor shape as well.

I've gone here with my family for years and never had a problem, my parents even are in a bowling league there & have been for awhile. Went there for the first time with my family since the summer and was having a good time until I simply asked them if I could order sliced pickles. When I asked they came back with fried pickles which wasn't a big deal just a simple miscommunication, so I said I meant sliced and that's when it became an issue I guess. The man responded, without stopping to look at us or stop

Lanes are well maintained. Staff is friendly. Prices seem fair and talking to the pro shop guys is way better then buying on line. Overall the place could use a good cleaning.

Classic bowling experience. Hard to find balls with the right weight/hole size combination. We didn't know they recommend reservations...with covid restrictions keeping some lanes clear, they have limited lane availability. We thought 10am on a Sunday was a safe time to go, but we were told we had to clear our lane before 11am because multiple parties were scheduled for that morning, so only had time for 1 game.

Terrible experience. Talk about over promising and under delivering. Was told that the wait for a lane would be 5 minutes; it ended up being 25 minutes. Then we were put on a lane with a guy next to us with his 4 kids, ranging in age from 1-10 years old. 2 of the kids took off their shoes and were bowling barefoot, and all of them were stepping into other peoples lanes. Dad couldn't have cared less. However, for the other paying patrons, our experience was soured by the fact that l, even when I brought this

Been there for many years, under various names. Upgrades include: single level floor to lanes, upgraded machines, arcade games. Food service closes at odd times, sometimes inconvenient. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, good array of house balls (weights/finger sizes) and shoes.

This people Make us wait for a line then after we order food and drinks told us we weren't going to be able to get a table and didn't want to cancel our order horrible service, no communication skills.

Great spot! Bowling is great and so is the food. Bar staff is just as amazing! Just wasn't able to bowl tonight. Wish you guys updated your Facebook page a bit more often!

Nice palace clean food good nice sound and beautiful people server mmmmm I loved one guys so cuteeeee

First attempt: My husband and I, clearly over age 40 (and acknowledged as such by the bartender), were refused service need cause we didn't have our ID's on us. She also told us the lanes were backed up by more than an hour an so we should just go, since we wouldn't be able to bowl before closing (we arrived between 6:30/7 pm). Three weeks later, second attempt: I called to request a takeout order from the restaurant at approximately 5 pm on a weeknight. The woman who answered the phone said, "Ummmm...."

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
