The staff is really kind and patient. We had our daughter?s birthday party here and Christian our host was great. He was super helpful and patient with us and the kids. We really appreciated him and Joey, both asked me several times if we needed anything and were super friendly. We did the go karts which the kids loved! I highly recommend a party here and can't wait to go back with the moms for 90s night!

everyone working here was so helpful and friendly. i believe his name was felix on the rink and helped our sons multiple times and made it so fun. the women in the kitchen, and the gentlemen working in kitchen/taking our trash was the Sweetest!!!! siooo nice and accommodating. he has a young cute daughter. kids loved the pizza too

I don't believe a one-star rating is actually fair - but being that I wasn't allowed entry - from an antiquated rule that should be thrown out, but - is the best evaluation I can give. I would like nothing more than to be able to provide a true evaluation for Gr8skates, but never got the chance to skate. Not being from the area, my daughter and I were excited to skate at a new place. We actually hung around the Shirley area for 3 hours for the session to begin. This place is absolutely Amazing! It's so fun and so cheap for how long you get to skate for and they are so nice there! I had lost my phone while there and they were so helpful trying to help me and later after I left with no luck on finding it they went through every single locker to try and find it. Still no luck and then I came in the next day and we thankfully found it they were so amazing and helpful this place is such a great place.

I hosted a party here with 45 guests. They did an amazing job with organizing the party area, serving the food/drinks, and accommodating to my requests. They were very responsive to all my questions up until the day of the party, and I had a lot of them. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. FINALLY a nearby rink in Suffolk. Fun place to skate around. Can't wait to go back. Friendly staff. 2nd visit. They changed the pattern of the lighting and the flashing especially the red color can be a motion sickness epileptic inducing distraction. ??

Had my daughter?s 13th birthday party there at the end of September and it was amazing! All of the kids were having so much fun roller skating that me and my husband decided to join the fun! We all had a blast!!! Patty was our party host and everything went smoothly and she even helped set up the table balloon decorations. Great party! Great time! Great value as well!

I haven't been roller skating / roller blading in years. I had a great time and my son had a fun time as well I would come back and it's very close to home. The music is great and it has a good vibe.

This place is so disorganized and i don't even know. I had a party there, a kid fell and broke his arm and all the manager patti i think her name was said is " not my problem " I got so mad. Went on a Tuesday, there is a special two for one. Had a great time with my kids. Not too crowded but enough people. It was my kids first time skating and they used the training skates they were able to skate a few rounds with no problem. My friends and I recently started coming to adult skate night on Saturdays from 9-12 and it's honestly the most fun we've had in a long time! Everyone who works there is so nice and friendly, it's never too crowded and it's super affordable. The bar is a perk and the bartender and his secret recipe rum punch are a welcome refreshment after sweating on the rink lol! The place is huge, clean, and the music is great! I got the round around form chris and Peter and they are nice and clean and very nice but I am getting the round all the time I had my tryouts last year on December 5 about 12.00 until 2.30 pm and I did a great job I hope to work they soon but they are give me the round around all the time your friend dj dee love

Great staff. great atmosphere. We've been going whenever we had a chance and my kids fell in love with skating just as I did in the 80s. The music is perfect and it's a peaceful place for kids and adults! We had my sons birthday here and the first timers were amazed. Matty was our hostess and she was beyond beyond! You just go around and around for hours. The snack bars, a little, tiny, small spot in back corner. It's not really worth the money. Don't do it go bowling instead

They charged me 6.00 to walk in to see my friends kid at her birthday party. I didn't intend to skate. 6.00 just to watch kids skate?? Then they charge additional money if the child needs to use the supports on wheels if they are beginner skaters. How petty and money hungry can you get?!?

Its great to have a skating rink so close to home. Staff was amazing. Adult night was excellent!!! Loved the freestyle music!!

Had my son?s birthday- 21 kids and 24 adults and everyone had a blast. All staff was amazingly warm and friendly and hard working! Our Hostess Maddy was amazing!!!! She rocked! She was very attentive and Friendly. This was our third time there and we can't wait to go back! Its clean, safe, and love the music!

We've attended 2 birthday parties here and the kids always have a blast. The service is fine and we've never had issues with skate sizes or equipment. They have arcade games you can play if you want to take a break from skating. They do have a snack bar with your usual items (burgers, pizza, pretzel, fries, drinks). The place is neat and clean looking. The staff are friendly. It's not a high end party venue but it's a good place to have fun.

Yesterday my son was charged 20$ to get in yesterday right before the skate session ended when they should have only charged him 6$ for a non-sake entry. He was only there for about 10 minutes before he got picked up to come home and change his clothes. When he returned he showed them his ticket and they charged him another 20$. Awful! What a waste of money! Specifically booked a package for the kids to have options only to be told after HAVING TO ASK that those options were no longer available! Such poor communication the whole experience. Place is garbage. Should have known. You pay per guest and they don't offer the extra food etc for the guest that didn't show. I went to this place this weekend expecting to kill the night. Much to my surprise this DJ was way more than what I was expecting. I haven seen a DJ play with that kind of energy since Empire. He was still playing like he was just warming up when the session ended.. I was forced to change my shirt halfway through the session. I looked like somebody pushed me in he pool .I really wish the session could have been longer. I thought I found a new place to skate and a reason to stay till the end of the session

I had such a fun time this past Saturday for the adult session. Feels like the energy is picking up again! Big vibes coming from the dj Lsmoov3, he even played some R&B that I haven't heard in a while. I wish I got to stay until closing because I heard everyone was dancing till the music stopped! We had our 9 year olds birthday party here today and wow what an amazing job they did. From the moment we walked in they were friendly and helpful. The hostess was on top of everything always asking us if we needed something and always kind and quick! Very well run and everyone had an amazing time. The party space was perfect and had plenty of room on the rink side. Thanks for making his day perfect!

Loved the rink & love the fact it is so close to me. However when we went there after Thanksgiving- there seemed to be a whole lot of young kids (14-17) hanging by the lockers and bathrooms cursing each other out, taking videos being aggressive with each other, threatening each other but also laughing during it all. It was not a good vibe for me to have my 5yr old there trying to skate! Not 1 worker came over to calm them down- lots of the workers are very young. & I just hope it doesn't turn into a place I

We had the pleasure to have Gianna as a host for my daughter?s 7th birthday today, she was a ball of sunshine, very personable and was checking in with me throughout the party making sure everything went smoothly and on time. Our experience was great and we had a lot of fun. It's a bit pricey so we won't be going too often. My only dislike was renting the plastic skate helper for 5 dollars. In my opinion that should have been free of charge. My son had walked away from it for two seconds and someone else had taken it. Again shouldn't charge 5 dollars for it.

The Dj the Dj the Dj!!! I came out to visit some of my family and decided to go skating since we haven't been in years, and let me tell you!!! Dj Lsmoov3 won us over hands down! I've experienced a lot of good djs the 30+ years I've skated, but not like this. Saturday night definitely reminded me of the old Empire in Brooklyn, versatile Dj, interacts with the crowd and knows how to create a vibe while controlling the energy through the night. We went to my niece's birthday party at Gr8 Skates and it was s much fun! The kids had a great time and Giana and Maddie were wonderful party hosts. Very attentive, kind and right in top of it all.

Very good and fun.I'm glad we have a new place for teens and kids to hang out. The food is pretty good and the mozzarella sticks are to die for. The whole skating experience is amazing and if your children get tired out skating, they can play in the arcade and the games only cost 1 dollar so it's a very good place to hand out and it's new so go before it gets messed up and dirty cause it won't stay new forever.Enjoy your time with your lover,kids,family,or just have yourself a fun time. I went with my family but based on principle alone we decided to leave. I was paying and noticed they were charging me $6 to watch my family skate. I explained to the manager that due to medical issues I cannot skate and shouldn't be charged $6. Her response was that she would charge a 90yr old to watch their family skate and i can go play video games. To her that may have been funny but I would love to be able to skate and was insulted, so I took my entire family elsewhere to spend our money.

This is a great family friendly place. Only thing I didn't like is that they don't have roller blades as an option. Otherwise, it was clean, food was good, drinks were good and the games were fun! Also, very friendly staff.

I recently had a party, and picked the Platinum vip party package. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The party attendants were overwhelmed. My party attendant was working two other parties at the same time as my party. I was unable to find her half the time. Gratuity charge was $150.00 on the bill, which should be based on satisfaction and service and both were not met to expectation. Very disappointed

Soooo excited that this place opened! I have been wishing for a roller skating rink to open up in Suffolk ever since Amazing Skates and Sun Skates closed down when I was younger. I wouldn't recommend booking a birthday party here. I was overcharged and when I contacted the manager/owner she said she would send me it to me through the mail. I never received it. she said she would try to send it again so I gave her my address again to be sure she was ending it to the correct place, and offered to come in a get it. She didn't reply. I did receive a promotional email from gr8 skates today.. still no refund.

Other than having to pay to not skate, and the place closing super early, even on weekends (6p.m.) ! This is one of the only skating rinks I know of and the employees all seem pretty since.

We just had Sophia?s 10th Birthday party at Gr8skates. All her friends had a lot of fun skating and at the arcade. The staff was super attentive. Special shout out to Maddie and Gianna. We will be going back to skate there again soon.

This place is the most racist place I've ever been. Traveling from west coast to east coast I would?ve expected a more diverse and family fun environment. Instead we witness African Americans and Hispanics being ignored when requesting musical selections. Although they can play the ?CHA CHA Slide? from the 70?s, as well as multiple ?pop? selections. My family had a blast. They also have nights where there are no kids allowed. It has a nice bar to drink at. When your there with kids they have a arcade if your kids not into the skating. It's a fun night out.

My daughter had her Birthday party at gr8 Skates. All the kids had a great time. Madison and Giana coordinated everything. They were super organized. 10/10 would do it again

This is my favorite skating rink on the island! The food is a bit pricey, but the adult nights are great and the day skates are perfect for families and children! The arcade is also super fun when you need a break from skating.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. It looked like there were paper waivers once you first walk in. I already had them filled out and ready when I walked in. You are given one ticket per person to rent your skates. For the girls? skates, we were told to size down. To rent a locker was 50 cents and you could only open your locker two times otherwise you have to pay another 50 cents. You had to hold the key in your pocket and there was a $15 penalty if you lose it. The locker wasn't too big or too small.
