I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Skate and Event Center, and I must say it was an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff who were genuinely excited to help. The skating area is spacious and well-maintained, making it perfect for skaters of all skill levels. The atmosphere is vibrant, with great music playing and a positive energy that kept everyone engaged and having fun. I loved the variety of events they offer, from skating sessions to themed nights

I had a great time taking my kids to the SpongeBob event on Sunday. They loved it. The vip pass was worth the money to get in early and. It was fun meeting SpongeBob and friends and the bounce house in the middle of the rink was fun. The staff was super nice and helpful. Recommend taking your kids and let them skate in a safe and fun environment

Haven't been to a roller rink in 20+ years and went here for a kids birthday party. It was SO fun! The kids loved it, they had great modern music (but I requested an old disco song and they put it on!), pizza was tasty, and the staff was helpful. The security guard means business and is keeping everyone safe! FYI you can't bring even an outside water bottle, so he had to put it back by the office. But when I was walking out he remembered my water bottle when I totally forgot which was super helpful. Loved g

We absolutely love this place. If you haven't been.. you NEED to go. We discovered this skate rink due to a school event. While we were there, we found out that they offer (very affordable) lessons. All the teachers and the personnel are just amazing. They are all friendly and super polite. We love that they have different type of events like the $1 admission & $1 rentals on Thursday afternoon. The staff here is amazing. My sister just threw me a surprise bachelorette party here yesterday and it was awesome! She said that the staff was excited to help her pull off the surprise and they really followed through! She was easily able to rent the place out for the night and invited all of my friends and family to come. Visited on a Saturday morning for a school event. You have to pay for everything at the door (including the skate helpers) but the person at the desk isn't super informative so make sure you ask questions. If you get skates, you have to walk quite far away to try them on. If you bring your own skates, there is nowhere to keep your shoes/bags. Tim is an outstanding security guard at the GR Skating Rink. He's always friendly, approachable, and does an excellent job keeping everyone safe. His professionalism and positive attitude make him a real asset to the rink. If you're ever there, Tim?s the person you'll be happy to see and happy to go to if you have any concerns.

Wednesdays are $20 2 hours of skating AND unlimited pizza and pop. And the pizza is freaking delicious. Such a good deal. Staff is so kind and sweet, area is clean and safe. Awesome spot!! PS Tim is the bomb

Held my daughters birthday here and it was a blast! The birthday coordinator was very attentive and made everything run smoothly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would def recommend holding a kids birthday party at this skate rink. So easy and fun!

Big thanks to GR State! We had a blast! We also ran into a few issues that we were not expecting due to a huge turn out from our school. The skate center did a great job navigating the issues and their staff was courteous and really made us feel welcomed. Not a frowny face to be seen on that wooden floor! We just had a party there for my daughter's birthday, and our experience was AMAZING!!! We decided to book a private party for safety reasons, and they were accommodating! They did the set up and take downs, which saved us a bunch of time and stress. We had plenty of food and drinks, and they let my daughter have her own Playlist for the party! I would recommend GR SKATE & EVENT CENTER to anyone that is looking for a great place to host a birthday party!!

The staff at this place is phenomenal, they are welcoming and fast on their feet. Tim walks around and mingles with everyone, he seems like the facility favorite. Great place to get out of the house for a few hours with the kiddos.

I used to go here growing up. Figured to go take my littles to check my favorite skating spot. The vibe there was completely awful. It's really upsetting to notice how normal it was for the staff. Great time at GR Skate with Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School. Lots of memories from 4th grade some 55 years ago!

The layout is much more open than the Byron Center location. Great family fun. It's worth checking out. My family and I will definitely be coming back. It's not the greatest pizza, but if you go on wristband Wednesday, you get unlimited pizza, pop, skate rental, and your admission for only $10 a person!!!! You can't beat that!

My daughter and I have a great time on our mommy and daughter date. The staff was GREAT and VERY HELPFUL. We can't wait to go back for more family time.

We had an amazing wedding reception party here. Everyone had a great time. It was lovely to see everyone smiling and even trying skating for the first time. We had the time of our lives. This place IS AWESOME cheapest place to go to rollerskate for hours. Way to keep cost low so parents with multiple kids can afford to go somewhere. Keeping kids off the streets. I would definitely RECOMMEND this place for kids and families. Only thing they NEED to work on is cleaning more. Vaccum rug when nor open AND SWEEP FLOOR. Alot of stuff on roller skating floor if you roll over it bound to fall, please sweep roller skating floor before you open. It opened like this!

We come here to have fun and skate but there is no skate guard on the floor to monitor it. There are old kids that don't care who they run into. We saw a group skate through smaller kids almost running fingers over. On top of that the smaller kids are not listening and skate when they shouldn't which ruins the special skate. Parents don't watch their kids and accidents happen or people get hurt. Help all the people skating and get a skate guard to help monitor misconduct and get kids in-line on the floor.

The most worse place ever. The transmission managers amd employees let their kids running all over bare foot throwing balls and allow their kids to bully your kids.

We held our daughter's 10th birthday party here yesterday. The rink was everything we've come to expect from GR Skate...clean, professional, inviting and fun. Tim and Ebony did an outstanding job with our party...attending to every detail and rolling with some last minute changes. The rink was safe and accommodated the 30+ children in our party. We will definitely return for future functions!

I reserved a table at GR Skate & Event Center Kentwood. The website of party options were very simple and precise. Booked the party months before the date. Booking the party had created good communication between myself and the staff. Speaking of staff, the party ran smoothly with their outstanding assistance and positive vibes. Most memorable! Well this place just lost a customer. My dad had to pay. $10 entry $5 skate rental $5 for handicap grandma to watch $5 for trainer bar = $25 what is this world coming to. Sooner or later skating will be gone because of price increases! Sad,Sad,Sad

Great place for the family to have fun. Had 2 of my kids birthdays here. Kids had a blast. Karrie and Layla did a great job setting up. Would definitely be returning and i recommend GR Skate as a family night out. I'd give it a 4.7 star, always got to leave room for improvements.

We had our 10 year old's birthday party here. It was amazing. We invited their whole class and siblings. We had around 30 kids attend and every kid had a blast (parents too since we got to skate as well). The place was very clean and everything was setup for us when we arrived. The pizza was actually very good. The staff was super accommodating and very friendly. Highly recommend. Our younger kids want to do this for their birthday now too.

My son had his 10th birthday party there. It was the first time we have done friends birthday. Other than the entry being a bit stuffy and crowded, it was great! The kids had a fantastic time! Most of them had never skated before but they loved it! Layla was or party assistant and she got the pops and pizza out and made sure it was all prefect. No safe space for kids to skate who are learning, and they charge you to just sit and watch your children?yet you have to have an adult if you're under 16. Kind of a ripoff.

I was originally going to leave a 3 star review simply based on the fact that staff was incredibly rude the entire time I was there on Saturday. I was there to attend a birthday party, but it was so packed because the facility was running SIX parties at once. We were told we'd have a ?personal party planner? but we barely saw her, at no fault of hers, she was dealing with 2 other parties at the same time. I also wasn't impressed with the rules to enter. Charging adults who aren't skating is pretty ludicrous

We had my daughter Kinseys 11th birthday party at GR Skate/Kentwood. We had a really fun time, and our host Layla was incredible! She checked on us often, made sure everything was taken care of and went smoothly. Great place to have a birthday party! We were assigned a birthday coordinator who took care of everything and was very pleasant to Work with. We got to pick song selections (3rd grade birthday party). We had a blast! Not sure if the adults or kids had more fun.

Great area and staff. Just the pricing is a bit higher. I went for a birthday party. I still had to pay, although not skating. And had to pay more to skate, although the party was paid for. The strick no leaving policy was crazy as well. But, I understand to keep the peace and no intentions of deceit or harm, out. I enjoyed myself as well. I recently celebrated my son?s 7 th birthday party here and we had an absolute blast. We really liked the birthday shout out and the pizza was absolutely delicious. Brenda and Scott are amazing and we're just so grateful for the skating rink. Great service too! Such a fun experience and I would recommend anybody trying this out for their kids. The designated "skating area" and "sitting area" is not separated by any barrier so you're guaranteed to get trampled by teenagers not looking where they're going and skating into the sitting areas. It was so stressful and I will definitely go somewhere else next time.

Horrible. They play theme music from the old Disney movies. Most songs you can't even skate too. They don't play music for everybody of all ages (not even the clean versions). They told my kids we couldn't come in because my kids didn't have stoppers on there skates and the last time I went my kids couldn't come in because they didn't wanna skate , they just wanted to play games and eat. We did the birthday room and they had it set up very nicely, and checked on us often. We had so much fun at GR Skate! The employees were so friendly and attentive at the birthday party we attended. The pizza was amazing! It was decorated so cute too! My youngest child didn't want to skate and played on the arcade machines the whole time- there's something for everyone. Me an my son had the best time..and always feel safe

Horrible experience and will never be back. We paid for 4 people and a skate aid for my four year old son. When we went to get our skates, they didn't have roller blades for him. We decided not to stay because he doesn't know how to use skates and wanted roller blades. We asked for a refund and Jodie, the GM, refused. She could give us a pass for the 4 year old to come back but no passes for the rest of our crew. They pretty much stole $45 from us. We didn't utilize the rink or skates, but had to pay for it
