We just went there for my birthday. Wanted to get some pizza which I enjoy and some beer. Stood in front of three employees for ten minutes, ignored. People walked in between us and the employees that they knew. Ignored. We left. We will never go back and please ignore my resume I sent in for part time work. I would never work in a place that doesn't care. What a shame.
This place is AWESOME!!! Hear me out. They have bowling, bounce house, arcade, pool, laser tag, GLOW in the dark mini golf, full bar, kitchen. Like, what else do you need? It's like a one stop shop for everyone. Staff is AMAZING. Everything is new, great stops for parties with great pricing on packages. No, I wasn't paid to say this ?? it's a great place
Great place for family fun. Love the atmosphere. Bowling, arcade games, bounce house & laser tag. Love $2 Tuesday bowling. Staff friendly and welcoming. We've visited multiple times and worth the 45 minute drive to return. Downside there are always a few of games not working and a longer wait for service. Place seems short staffed, but staff there tried their best.
Went in today 5:30 pm for a birthday. The three people working the main counter gave zero service. No acknowledgement, no greeting waiting directly in front of the counter. Appalling to have that much staff blatantly ignoring potential customers. Will not be returning.
This place is a GEM in our community Amador and Calaveras county are so blessed to have you guys. Thank you for being a place a joy, excitement and pure fun for all of us. You guys rock! Absolutely LOVE & appreciate the improvements.
I was there on a Saturday, everything was good and fun. But there were some lanes available and we had to wait too long, but we played pool while waiting for our turn, they also have arcade games... it is a good place overall.
We had a blast! Drink times are long though need more staff.
Had my daughters 10th b-day party here recently. The facility is very clean and well kept. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, Cody was cool as heck, and the girls all had a blast. Will be going back for bowling and more birthdays.
Love this place! We love that there's a variety of different things to do. Something for everyone. Food is decent and the drinks from the bar are spectacular. Everything they offer is reasonably priced. The staff is always super outgoing, friendly and helpful. Selected 4 stars instead of 5, only cuz it often feels hot and stuffy inside and there's always a handful of the games that are either out of order, or will fail to work correctly, but the staff is always nice about refunding game credits if you let
Kiddo loved. Great place for some family fun out of the heat.
A little ran down but super cool for photos and the kids Love it!!
The ginger employee made my experience Great 5 stars
Great place for a birthday party with all the improvements they have made. Now they need to do something to improve the service at the bar. I was at the bar for 10 mins with no bar tender even there. When she did show up, she walked past me twice without saying a word. She went to the other end of the bar and waited on three different customers who walked up from the lanes at different times. Never once did she come down to the other end of the bar. In fact, the off duty bar tender saw me sitting there and
We came in here while visiting family in Jackson and this bowling alley definitely exceeded my expectations. They are currently in the process of putting in indoor mini golf, so I'm excited to come back and see what that's about. They also have an amazing variety of arcade games, laser tag and pool tables on top of the bowling. Service for drinks was a little slow, however it seems like they are experiencing a staffing shortage. That being said, the assistant manager was putting in work! She was extremely h
Staff is always nice and helpful even when they are super busy. It's always clean no matter what time of day I go. They have so many activities, makes it really fun and cant complain about the price.
Wow have they stepped up their community game. Just visited for the 1st time in a decade. Nice place for family entertainment and even date night in the bar area. Decent food. And friendly service.
We came for a birthday party and had so much fun! The new renovations are awesome and I love that it's now more family friendly. Definitely recommend! I do wish they'd allow outside food in as they aren't able to accommodate certain dietary restrictions/intolerances.
The food here is REALLY GOOD. The wings have a wonderful but hot flavor. I've had them twice and while I'm not a big fan of really hot food, these wings are amazing.
Tim and his staff were very cool. Food was delicious. I loved the VR rollercoaster. It was ??
Such a fun place to have family time! Clean, exciting place to spend the evening. Laser tag was awesome too!
very nice , great service, good food and drinks, great for kids
Had a blast tonight and we're taken care of. Super happy with the service and the GIANT PRETZEL!!!
Would give 5 stars but I lost again. I blame the knee brace this time
Bowled in a small, local tournament here. Although I didn't carry my average, I had fun. This is a place the whole family can have fun. Not a lot of arcade games, but there are pool tables and dart boards for those that enjoy these games. This place has a fairly large bar area and several different beers on tap. They have a limited, small menu, but you can get something to eat here. Overall a very nice place to visit.
Went last night for cosmic bowling to celebrate my daughter's birthday.. it was ok they told me that it started at 6. Cosmic kinda started at about 730. That is when they turned the black lights on and maybe played about 3 or 4 songs. Staff was rude when we asked about it. All of the games up front were not working also a couple in the arcade area were not working but games were still taking money off the kids cards... I've been going here for about 15 years but I think we will be going somewhere else fr
This was a fun birthday party spot. It wasn't our child's birthday but we go invited and everyone had a good time. Arcade and laser tag to break up the bowling fun for those who can't wait their turn (my kids). Staff was accommodating. Good times.
Horrible bar management. I've been in there multiple times for a drink and you can easily wait over 15 mins for a drink while another bartender is either sitting next to you at the bar, on ?break? or out with the bar manager smoking cigarettes. On multiple occasions the bar manager is there yet I've still had to wait for the tender to serve sodas/drinks to the line of kids and bowlers that aren't even at the bar while the bar management isn't helping the backup in anyway. Cool bar, nice set up, but horrible
Great snack bar...burger with fries are reasonably priced and well-portioned with the usual fixings. Bowling alley is very clean and modern with flat screen TVs (I come from the east coast where the bowling alleys seem to always appear dingy and in need of a renovation). Staff and owner have always been nice to me!
Went for my son's birthday and it was a little chaotic. We were often forgot about and had lots of time wasted on our given bowling time due to technical issues or not being able to find our party host. Paid over $550 for sub par service.
The manager there does not know about customer service, he is taking the bowling league and running it in to the ground. He will not allow ANY modified food orders so people can eat them. This place only cares about money not the people that actually pay there paycheck. This place needs MAJOR IMPROVEMENT, management and customer service wise. I wonder if the owners know what is going on there.
Tuesdays are great to go cause they have a discount on the games. Highly recommend signing up for the rewards card. They give you free credit towards games on holidays and anniversaries if you have the card. The food is amazing and a great atmosphere.
Being a bowler rewards member pays off!!! They give you free bowling all the time!!! However the last couple times going..we had lane techinal difficulties which was annoying but was just that day. The staff is great....its defiantly a "locals" type family vibe. They do need more staff because when it gets busy...the staff are running around and customers are waiting. The pro shop is never open which is a bummer. Food is yummy but overpriced. Please do more advertising on the Leagues and Tournaments, that w
Had our daughters Birthday there yesterday. Had booked her party for noon, they called back and said they already had a party and had to move us to 1pm. I told them we would need to eat first and they stated that was not a problem at all. Well we got down there and checked in and was told we were not eating till 2pm and they wouldnt change it because they were to busy. When the kids pizza came they were supposed to get 3 and only 2 came out. They just put them on the table and left. We served the kids ourse
Been going here since I was a little kid, back in the late 80's. It's changed a LOT since then, some for the better, some less. Definitely changed more for the casual bowler from more league based, as league bowling has sadly declined. Not entirely sure I like the current setup, it just feels crowded, and tonight it was actually VERY crowded, like I haven't seen in a very long time. Unfortunately, I don't get to go bowling often anymore, but I love to go, and this facility is still excellent!
This is a great place to go if you like to hangout with your family and friends. The weekends are normally when most people are there. Lots of parking so it's not a problem. Most adults either go to compete in tournaments, or to go to the bar inside and just play a couple games... Wasn't very expensive. I went three weeks ago for cosmic bowling on Saturday. Paid for two people and an hour on the bowling lane... It was only like 26 dollars. Plus 4 dollar shoe rental. I couldn't complain. The have some really
Best bowling prices in like a two-hour radius, convenient hours, an entire arcade, AND a full-service bar. We love to see it.
Gold country is a great place to take the family or friends for fun. I loved the pin ball..
Pool tables, arcade for kids, beer on tap, and 2 dollar Tuesdays where it's only 2 bucks per person per game! Best spot in town.
Busy but accommodating. Overall fairly clean facilities. I do not recommend getting pizza there though. Seemed more like a cheap frozen pizza for $15. Not impressed.
Celebrated a friends birthday in the bar. I have to say, the bartenders were the best I have ever experienced. Their attention to the patrons and quick service was outstanding. Thank you to Gold Country Lanes for helping make the birthday party a flying success!!!
Terrible service to say the least if you have autistic individuals in your group I would suggest going else where .. also not very friendly when asked about beers and speciality drinks ! Very heavy pour .. we love to support local family establishment but sadly will not return!
Went for night bowling on a Saturday. Great atmosphere. Music was awesome, a mix of rock, southern rock, and pop. Attendants were helpful and courteous. Lots of themes to choose from for bowling (used classic setting). Best feature is the bumpers on/off option per player, which is great for groups with kids so you don't need a separate lane for them. It wasn't busy at first but lots of people showed up as the night went on. Would definitely go again when I'm in the area.
We have been going here for more than 10 years. It's just not the same. It's all flash now and no substance. The hamburgers looked and tasted like they were boiled. The tater tots were cold on the inside even the second time after we had them remade. We couldn't tell by taste or sight if the chipotle chicken sandwich was pork or chicken. Crazy understaffed. The cook was the front counter person. Our lane broke 10 different times. I'm probably in the minority, but I liked the old rural simple bowlin
3/9/22: I called to reserve (2) lanes for our church youth group (1) day before we planned to bowl, and a lady on the phone stated that they only reserve lanes for business outings and birthday parties. Despite this policy, the lady assured that Wednesdays were "the slowest day of the week" and that getting (2) lanes would not be an issue. Today, our church group of 12 arrived and was told that the whole venue was reserved for a separate charitable group. I reiterated the conversation that I had yesterda
Had an amazing time! Definitely a great place to have birthday parties for children!!
Have embarrassed myself bowling here many times over. The staff is great, the pretzels are huge and its always a blast to share a quick bit and bowl a few games. There are also pool tables and a small arcade, so a fair bit to do.
Bowling has always been an all time favorite of mine to do with the kids and for family entertainment. Sometimes it can get a little gross and just not friendly. This place is definitely about the entertainment of any who attend. Offering special rates, discounts , and even free kid bowling it is not too bad for your budget. League bowling is also available. Lots to do, bowling, arcade, food service and bar.
Can not believe how bad this place blew it! So I take my wife and son. We bowl a game. Right off the bat the camera for the mini games doesn't work and the employees can't seem to fix it. Oh well we moved on. My son's bowling bowl was stuck behind the pins for almost 10 seconds every time we threw it. Would suggest a second ball if you're being timed. Speaking of being timed, we had fun so we ordered TWO pizzas 2 adult beverages and a sprite as well as AN HOUR OF BOWLING! The pizza came with a soggy bottom
First and LAST big birthday party I will have at this bowling alley. The party before us ran late, so our 25 guest families did not know where to go when they arrived. They forgot about our pizza, goodie bags, and I had to hunt people down for drink refills. The staff had a shift change mid way through the party, which was a complete mess, and the lack of communication was really obvious. We will be having our next party somewhere else next year. DO NOT have a big party here unless you like a chaotic mess!
It was a nice bowling alley and the people were friendly. My only complaints were that the ball return was VERY slow and we spent half of the game just waiting for the ball to come back. Not a problem if paying by the game, but we were paying hourly. Also, the seating in the bowling area is very funky.
very neat if u drink at the bar ur scores go way lower if youre me. they also have ahuffleboard and arcade games but everything costs money but overall is cheap enough to not get ur wallet too rekt. air hockey is def the best. food is aight too they give little cups of guac and sour cream sometimes.
Love this little bowling alley! Came in on $2 Tuesday from out of town. Had an old fashioned feel yet had a great up to date bar that was a beauty to look at. Look forward to coming back.
Great place to go to for family entertainment.
My son and I go every week. Mostly for the arcade. I give the 5 stars. Great employees, it's never to packed, they make very delicious food and they even have a bar if that's your thing.
Place has been updated since my last visit years ago. Very nice bowling center.
Staff was very welcoming and eager to help, great place for kids and adults for a night out
I would say the bar here may be one of the best in Amador County. Darts, shuffle board, and many pool tables in the bar. Nice beer selection priced fair for a bar. Jukebox has something for everyone. Friendly bartenders. Oh and one can bowl.
Gold country lanes is good family friendly place. The bowling lanes are brand new and top quality. There is a bar with six nice pool tables all in very good condition, shuffle board, foosball and darts. They have a snack bar with hot food, hamburgers, french dip, fries etc. They offer deals and have leagues for bowling, pool is just 50 cents. The staff is friendly, I like this place.
Amazing time here on Mother's Day!! Jessica the bartender was awesome!!
Everything is so high tech. We took our 5 year old there for his first time bowling. He had a blast! Friendly staff, clean, good food..we will be returning!
Awesome fun! Decent pricing .
I was a bit disappointed to be honest. We were looking to do the whole family night bowling, pizza, video games, Lazer tag and some adult beverages for us parents. We started with a single game to see how our son did, he ended up loving it and even though we couldn't get my husband's lane entry to work correctly (and the employee said he didn't know but never actually tried to fix it) we decided to purchase a hour bowling session. We got 2 rum n cokes and a sprite which ended up being almost $20, a pepperon
The little one loves to bowl. He also enjoys the arcade games. My boyfriend loves that they have an old school Frankenstein pinball machine. The only downside is the food service. I ordered a basket of fries on frame one, and didnt receive them until the end of frame 9. Granted we came with a kid, so we dont speed bowl. Hopefully the time management will be better next time.
I really enjoyed my time here! The arcade also had a bunch of good games. I will definitely be returning with a group of people.
Plenty of lanes and pool tables. A good bar with a decent selection of basic liquors and a few good beers. If you're looking for a beer or liquor flight, this isn't the place to go, but if you want good service and a few games of pool and some time on the juke box, definitely head over. They also serve some basic foods, like burgers and fries.
Staff are *super* nice. I had the best time with my daughter and friend. Any question we had was graciously attended to. So fun!
The new owners have done a great job updating the place. The place was clean and the staff was helpful. The kids had a great time.
Came here tonight to escape Covid drama. Started out nice paid $100 for 7 of us to bowl 3 games. They updated everything but the bowling system. Games kept getting delayed cause system kept messing up. How can a company let you rent a lane for an hour and have so many issues and only give you an extra 10 minutes. I won't be back. Seems to get more expensive every visit. I understand you have been shut down for a while but don't take it out on your customers.
As always, a great place to take the family for bowling and burgers! Clean facility with up-to-date equipment. Would like to see someone with more tech savvy though at the register/desk, the guy there seemed overwhelmed.
Fun place , lots to do, decent bar pies
Really clean & updated place! Friendly staff & a great menu as well. Surprising amount of arcade games too!
Extremely rude staff this racist establishment should shut down..Bartenders would not help me and my wife The front desk people rolled their eyes at my wife when she told them about a jam on the lane. It a shame veterans get treated this way., Veterans please join me and never give this place our money.
Bowling is great but arcade literally ate more credits then I got to play. 2 star because the arcade games are broke and the ones that do work is 50/50 with your credits.
Very clean, all the staff were friendly and helpful. My wife and I had a great date night here.
I stopped in for a whisky sour at the bar, been tastin one for a week, averall, a nice family atmispher? Pool turnaments most every Friday nite...and everything on the food menu is good, trust me, I've tried everything...
We love this place. Nice people, good music to bowl to (and they'll turn it up if you ask nicely) and the best burgers I've had in years!
Barkeep was excellent. He actually took care of an issue we had with a rude and dismissive alley front desk attendant.
Very friendly staff and pretty good food too. I would recommend signing up for the rewards account, you get credit for holidays and the like
Two $ Tuesdays encouraged me 2 utilize this facility recently. Very satisfied with this establishment. Enjoyable music
If I could give half stars I'd have given 4.5 because the new updates, especially the Lazer tag, are amazing...but there's no wifi now
Fun, not too expensive. Food and drinks available and the arcade was fun as well. Will be returning soon. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Chill atmosphere. Supportive staff. Full bar for the parents and pretty cool arcade for the kids. Pretty good food too.
Love it my husband and I both no leave there and we really enjoy it people are super nice and it's just a friendly fun environment
The place is like 50 years old but looks brand new inside. The lanes, the laser tag, the video games, the rest rooms. Everything has been updated. Good time
Fun as always! Great food, great service! Karaoke at the bar was a blast! Always the best place to bowl and spend time with friends and family!
Always a great place to bowl and have fun. However the lanes are old and get stuck slot. But staff is great place is clean so no other issues besides the lanes
Clean bowling alley. Good lanes. Service is what you would expect for a busy Saturday night. Bathrooms were clean. The drinks were good and the food was about as good as a bowling alley/bar snack bar could be.
Awesome alley Food is great and mostly made from scratch, good prices on food You can get games for 2 or 3 bucks on off hours Always lanes available even during league Nice people Beer prices are decent and bar sometimes has live music For the bowlers hardcore the lanes are very light on oil, bring a light oil ball Highly recommend this alley
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
