Customer Reviews

Went around closing time on a Thursday. We were the only people in there. The Inside was clean but a little sterile and quiet. Some ambiance from the machines or music would have been nice. Prices were good. Mostly just crane games. There was one time-stopper/line cutter game which I won a big pikachu from after about 9 tries. Each token is 1 dollar and 95% of the machines cost 1 token. Overall the machines are not impossible to win. I would like to come back when it is a little more lively

Had the most amount of fun I had in awhile. Won something on my second try. Then, I started winning more and more. First lap around, I already had almost a full basket. The second Lap around I went back and won the ones I failed at the first time. The experience started kicking in and using the double tap to close the claw early really helped to get most of them. I'm 26 and I had such a blast going around with my mom. It's also not rigged really at all with all the machines too. Just got to know what

So much fun! Very nice worker. Many claw machines with different items to win. You can even trade in something you won for a different item or for tickets that you can save up or exchange your items for large item.

The people working were so nice. They wanted you to win. We were even told ?we want you to win, there's no fun in losing.? They had games that were all skill and the claw machines weren't unreasonable for payout like 1 in every 2 plays was a win some machines were a winner every time. Drove 3 hours for this for it to not disappoint. Would do it all over again!

Let me start this review by saying this place was absolutely an amazing experience! I saw it on arcadematt?s YouTube channel. We traveled all the way down from Erie pa to check it out. The owners were awesome, they were super helpful and want you to win here! These aren't your typical claw machines. A lot of them have cool themes and they are much easier to win. It's makes the experience much more enjoyable that way. They have a ton of different prizes and it's cool because you can trade prizes in to get ti

All the great things we heard about this place were true. The owners were super kind and welcoming. They even offered to let my son swap out his dragons for different colors. Their claw machines aren't like the typical ones at big arcades where it's near impossible to win, so we walked away with several prizes. We will definitely go back!

Such a hidden gem!! This is a must visit place for arcade lovers! Machines are on skill mode- you will win prizes. Plus!! You can trade your prizes for tickets- and win even better treats. Prizes are Japanese inspired and SO CUTE. I cannot recommend this place enough. Owners are extremely friendly and helpful- they want you to win!!

This place is highly recommended. Did a daddy daughter night there tonight. Had tons of fun. The staff is great. My daughter told me they were the nicest guys. Won tons. Well spent money for long lasting memories. Wish the best for these guys. Go check them out this summer. It's out of the sun fun.

I took my two kids (9 and 13) here today, and we had a lot of fun! We spent a little over an hour in the arcade, playing and picking prizes. With the $50 package of tokens, we got a wheel spin that won us 10 extra tokens. Each machine is only 1 token - with a couple 2 token machines containing name-brand toys. In total, we won 15 large stuffed animals from the claw games and 8 smaller prizes in the short amount of time we were there. The machines are fair. The trade-in reward system is great. Each prize fr

My fiance brought me here to celebrate my birthday this year (i have a feeling maybe more for himsef than me, as he has a claw machine addiction, lol), and we both absolutely loved it. This place is nice and clean, with enough open space that it doesn't feel crowded even with other people around. There are plenty of machines to go around, and all in all, it's pretty affordable to play. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. We will be back many times.

Great time with my family. Very nice owners and owners will explain to you how to buy tokens and the trick to pushing the claw machine button a second time for getting a stronger grip. For most of the animals you win you can trade in for tickets if you want to save up for a different prize and if you win an animal in a machine and want a different animal on the same machine they will switch it out for you. Great experience and definitely worth checking out. Will definitely be back.

This is genuinely an arcade that wants you to win. Most claw machines are on a payout and won't allow anyone to win until a certain number of plays are completed. These machines are not like that and are skill based. The owners are very friendly and will help you to win things. I missed picking up a ping pong ball on one machine and the owner came and gave me a free play. My goddaughter had a blast at the arcade today. They also have a Japanese coin pusher which is rare to find in the US and the themes

We've been hearing about this place, but it's even better than we imagined Our kids had a great time. The place made the afternoon adventure worth it. Claw games had plenty of different things for everyone to pick from. I's great because you can trade in stuffed animals for really cool prizes or keychains if you'd like. However, for my kids, it was all about keeping the stuffed animals. I hope this place stays open and I think it's a great escape, especially in the middle of January.

This place is awesome! Great for adults or kids. Also, all the claws are skill based. Will totally come back. Anyone who is a fan of arcades would love this place.

The arcade was a fun experience! I enjoyed the ability to win a variety of different prizes and trade them up for a better prize. I was later disappointed to realize that the Pop figure in the machine I won was a knock off that was packaged to look real.

We had the BEST time tonight at Get a Grip Clawcade! Lots of cool prizes and the owners are the NICEST people! We are so happy to have such an awesome place close to home!

Very nice arcade and employees. Good options of claw machines. Won a few small claw machine prizes and the dice game. Unfortunately, each time I played a regular claw machine, I picked up an item only to watch the claw swing it out. EVERY TIME. Sucked to watch people filling up baskets while i couldn't get a thing.

This was the most fun I've had at Claw Arcades! Owners were nice and friendly, and the machines were not rigged to make you lose. Definitely a family-friendly place to have some fun!

We had my daughter's birthday here. The family who runs it is so nice and helpful. They cleaned up everything for you. The kids had a blast, and everyone went home with multiple prizes.

owner said the machines are set to only allow to win after 6 attempts if you get a good grip on the 6th and that "everyone knows that" so just dont bring kids and dont come at all if you dont wanna pay a ton for a china sweat factory stuffed animal?? Edit: first of all clearly you felt the need to respond otherwise you wouldnt have.. it is a small room and we spent $40 which is more than I spent at round1 in california and left with high quality stuffed animals and the machines weren't rigged. you are a sma

I really love crane games, so this place is a dream come true. Tons of fun and the owners are really nice. I love the trade in system to get bigger prizes. My daughter was able to trade in for a nice Pusheen plush that she loves. I can't wait to come back

Went over the holidays and this is my new favorite arcade! Was so excited to find a new one around Pittsburgh and claw machines are my favorite so this was awesome. Love that you can trade the things you win for better prizes. I love claw machines but don't like that I often win junk I don't really want, so here I'm able to play and then trade for the stuff I really want! Can't wait to come back!

This place is fun and the operators are really friendly. Took my daughter up there and the claws grip well so she was able to win stuff and felt great doing so. Even when it wasn't payout, the claws still pick up stuff so there is a chance for a good bounce. And if not, it'll at least give you that good-feeling feedback that you had a chance. They have tokens instead of a card, which is great since you can share and track your luck. The machines are filled with a wide assortment of plushies (some licensed,

Me and my boyfriend went here for our three year anniversary today and we had a ton of fun!!! Will definitely come again sometime in the future, amazing place!

I'm not a skilled claw machine operator. However, I did manage to win! Twice actually! It's a fun, clean environment with themed prizes, the ability to trade in for larger ones at the counter, and kind owners who will engage in delightful conversation with you. We'll be happy to come back whenever we're celebrating anything!

Found this place while on vacation with my husband and it's such a fun place. So many claw machines and so many options for everyone. Owners were super nice and helpful. Definitely recommend you won't regret it.

We had our son's 5th birthday party here and it was so much fun. The kids had a blast and went home with a ton of plushies and prizes. The owners were amazing, super friendly and very accommodating. It was a Pok?mon party so they gave him a gift bag with all kinds of cool Pok?mon stuff. All the kids left wanting to have their next birthday here.

How cool is this place! Hidden in a plaza in West Mifflin, this is an oasis of entertainment. Win a bunch of stuffies and trade up for different prizes and bigger stuffies. It's a great spot for kids and big kids alike.

This place is definitely a must! My daughter loved it so much that she's going to ask to come here all the time now. The people working were nice!

We stopped tonight for the first time and it was a blast. Our two boys couldn't get enough. I must say the staff is fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Awesome place to take your kids! Not overly priced and it's token based. Both of my kids left with a bunch of prizes!

Took my son here a 2 weeks ago, headed back this weekend. Great selection of prizes, staff was super helpful and friendly.

My daughter and I absolutely LOVE this place! The owners are wonderful and always there to help and make sure you have a fun experience. We watch a lot of the videos on YouTube and it's amazing to see just how popular these arcades are everywhere. So glad that there is finally a place in the Pittsburgh area to go to. They have beautiful, great quality prizes and a nice system where you can trade up for tickets for other prizes. They also offer packages for parties. You will want to return n a regular s

We had the best time at Get a Grip Clawcade! The owners were so kind and the prices are wayyyy more fair than most and we definitely got our moneys worth! My 6 year old had a blast and won more than a basket full of toys! Love that you can trade the wins in for bigger prizes and that there are different kinds of claw machines, not just the standard ones. They are also the only place we've been to (and we've been to a ton) with the ?gem drop? game! Shout out to Arcade Matt on Youtube for showing us their pl

Tons of fun with a large variety of machines and prizes. If you're a fan of claw machines, this place is a must visit.

Get a grip is an awesome claw machine arcade, the staff is super friendly, it's clean, and the games aren't too difficult either. We went all out and got $100 in tokens and it was absolutely worth it, you can keep what you win or trade it in for bigger prizes which if you happen to be an anime fan you're in luck because they have amazing figures available. You don't have to spend your tickets the day of either, you can save them for your next visit too! If you havnt been here I highly recommend.

This will change your perception of clawcades. We all left super happy, felt like we won a totally fair amount of prizes for how much money we spent. Nothing felt like a scam or rigged. Owners are the nicest people ever. Please go support them to keep this alive!

This place is awesome! You can choose to keep your stuffies or trade them in for other things! The owners are good people and awesome! We will be back who doesn't love a claw machine?! This place is loaded with them! The best idea for fun!

I used to have recurring dreams that a giant arcade with nothing but crane games would one day show up in my hometown. I probably imagined it popping up in the old Century III or some remote corner of Kennywood, but since then, truly enjoyable crane games have only become more fleeting. I feel like a lot of kids have these dreams, dreams of all of the things we could ever want, showing up right in our back yard. They're nice dreams, but they're just dreams. This weekend, I learned that my dreams had qui

Great prizes and prices. Owners are very friendly and kind! Definitely a place we will visit again!

So fun! Owners were really friendly, and there are more claw machines than you'll find in any regular arcade around here. The prices are reasonable, and the claws are actually winnable, which is rare these days. They have a system where you can trade in the plushies that you win from the machines for tickets and then use tickets to get prizes, or you can keep the plush. Nice variety of prizes too.

Had a blast here everyone was very nice and sweet also got a lot of cool prizes highly recommended to come here I will be back

I went just a week after they opened and loved it and plan to go back soon. I won a few prizes and very much enjoyed the aesthetic and the games available. The owners were extremely friendly and kind and very explanatory on how everything works there for newcomers.

Absolute blast for families and friends alike! They've got a fun system where you can trade in the plushies you won from the claw machines for tickets, which can exchanged for prizes at the front. Opened just 2 weeks ago, this place is the closest you can get to a Japanese UFO claw machine here in Pittsburgh. I'll definitely return and keep losing due to my skill issue

I can't get enough of this place. We went there close to when it was first opened and couldn't stop going every week. Then we made new friends there. Thank you get a grip also the kids have the greatest time ever when we get close they start to freak out and thank us.

Super fun! A unique concept for an arcade. I love claw machines so it's perfect. Great selection of prizes and the owners/employees are extremely nice and helpful. I'll be back for sure

Had a great time at this new local clawcade! Kids were excited to win prizes and take things home! Definately affordable for all.

This clawcade is fantastic. We've brought our daughter here twice and she had a fantastic time. The owners are super nice and the games are fun.

We had a great time and took home a bunch of prizes! As we were leaving, my son asked if we could come back the next day. He loved it. Awesome place! We'll be back soon!

We traveled 3 hrs to get here, and it did not disappoint. Owners are absolutely awesome. Prizes are easily obtainable and theres a ton of machines to choose from. We will be making a return trip in the future.

They have a large selection of claw machines and prizes! They always have something new, and they're very affordable. The owners are also super nice! I always enjoy going here. :DD

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
