North Wildwood, New Jersey 08260
I love this place. I haven't won any of the vehicle giveaways yet. My grandson also loves.to come with me. The entire staff is friendly and attentive. There also is a little snack bar with very reasonable prices.
Big haul from Gateway 26! Thank you Groupon! We were there for over 3 hours, playing games. My kids like the claw machines, my husband and I play the coin pusher and ski ball. I had enough tokens to get this huge Calvin Klein bottle of perfume value $50 !! Amazing! The kids nailed the claw machines! We have been going here for years- even during covid we wore masks there! lol love this place. The staff is always friendly too! We even met a sweet boy from Bethlehem wearing Iron Pigs gear!
Lots of different games options. Huge play place inside out of the elements. Open till 11:30pm on the weekends. Great for the adults n the kids. Some 25cent machines left. Most work off of a card that they load money onto for you. Lots of different choice games. Driving, fps, crane, air hockey. Great spot
This place was OK. But, there are not much special things.....
Iconic arcade located on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey. I used to come here when I was a little kid. Since then, a lot has changed, and the prizes are even more than last time. The new card system, which has been out for a few years, is absolutely an amazing system that has been implemented. The points and credit on the card never expire. Great place for families, don't leave without visiting this place!
We LOVE GATEWAY! All the way at end of boardwalk but worth it. We love the claw machines! We won 2 toys. The sonic machine is rigged though lmao Discovered connect 4 basketball. What a fun addicting game. Always go when on boardwalk! Their prize wall is literally from another planet. It surrounds the entire arcade.
We loved it! Old fashioned arcade fun, food, and prizes. Fairly priced, very friendly staff, clean facility. Open in the summertime ofcourse and weekends off season. And crane machines galore for 25 cents. WOW. I'll be back in the fall for a weekend getaway.
Thoughts from a local: cool to have a year-round arcade, but some years are less cool than others. I have great memories and times of fun here, but some years just weren't as good crane-wise, and due to that I ended up switching over to Ed?s Funcade this year and I don't think Gateway will be tempting enough in future seasons to make me want to go back. I also have to admit, in Gateway sometimes there's funky smells in different areas like a kid peed and the carpet never got cleaned. And there's also not en
Great claw games, 25 clent per try, you actually win, like the "old fashion claw games" from the 90's, I cleared out 1 whole machine, see 6 I won in pic!!!
Our favorite place to play... Great staff too.We look forward to coming back every year
Best arcade on the boardwalk hands down. It's huge. It's so big it's easy to lose your friends in the various rooms and aisles of different games but it's also easy to lose track of time! This place has everything. Some machines are 25 cents and some are a few dollars so they have something for everybody. Going to any other arcade is a waste of time.
Astounding. I mean the selection is just perfect and so are the games. The games are beautiful and the food offered is also amazing. They have a casino, arcade, and resteraunt all inside one building that will change your life it's so good.
Such a magnificent place to go to while on vacation. Very Friendly staff, magnificent prizes, good prices and awesome games especially the one where you can win tickets. I love how the arcade has gone green now that they are not using paper tickets as well. I do have one question if the owner of the arcade does see this review. What is the cardinal prize on a tree branch that I think lights up called. I know you need a lot of tickets for it, but I just wanted to know it would make a good gift for my own
My whole life and soon to be my children's and then theirs! Love this place....please fix the crane machines...they suuuuuuck never grabs anything!!
Best arcade in Wildwood! Unbelievable prizes for games. Staff members Rachel and Mary Jo made experience awesome. Processed our Groupons quickly. Floor staff helpful and kind to our group of 8. Clean arcade and awesome prizes. Very worth the trip. Food vouchers took over 30 mins to complete at outside vendor with no lines...improvement needed for that (also flat soda and greasy fries). Parking close by Boardwalk & easy with Park Mobile app.
My first time in Wildwood, the boardwalk is awesome and theres like this massive water/ amusement park less than a half mile walk away. The beach over there is very nice too, a lot nicer than I expected to be honest given the proximity to the pier. Much more family friendly than say Seaside Heights. I'm certain I was only scratching the surface of Wildwood, as I am most of the benefits of living in South Jersey. There wasn't all that many people down there, in no small part thanks to the post pandemic s
Gateway I've always been your biggest fan but last year and this year it's not the same. The cranes get stuck often and they either don't close or pick it up at all. Hoping it improves as the season starts. Update 7/9/22: absolutely disappointed with the service I received today. I combined my cards and tried to explain that all of my tickets were not uploaded correctly and I was met with aggressive behavior telling me there's nothing they can do and that it's out of their control now.
Iconic boardwalk arcade. Don't play the crane games, they're rigged to never win. Gaming commission should investigate.
Claw machines are insanely rigged you will see workers actively loosening the claws if a machine is winning too much. If you come here be ready to spend $25 for a 10-cent stuffed animal. Doing good thing I can really say about this place is that it's clean and the coin pushers are the best thing there.
I've been coming here for close to 40 years. I love the 25-cent claw games. I save my quarters all year and let my kids and I go wild, always win something. Always cool inside and the indoor bathrooms are always clean.
Fun time with my son while he is home from the Navy.
Ugh - If it wasn't for the nostalgia I probably would stop coming. This place is known for their crane games and at one time they used to be fun? because they actually paid out, Now you're lucky if you get anything after putting in $20. Place has not aged well. ***Back again in 2025?. Place turned into a money grab? Kids dropped 40 bucks and got nothing in return? completely a waste of money. And they still haven't updated anything :(
Was a fun time some games are a little dated but still is a blast for my 5 and 7 year old. They recently switched over to card readers that you can just out money on to play the games. We opened an account for my daughter and son because my Wife has had a ticket account with them for close to 20 plus years.
This is probably one of the best arcades on the boardwalk. I've been going to Wildwood for 20 years and this is by far the most fun and most worth your time arcade that have went to. The service here is really good and the people here are really nice. The prizes are really good as well which is an improvement compared to some of the other arcades on the boardwalk. All in all, it's a great place to go and I would definitely recommend that you check it out if you had time and some money laying around.
Biggest and best arcade/attraction on the boardwalk. Cheapest food that's pretty good and the games are priced fair. .25cent crane machines too! Cant beat it!
My wife and kids love this place and can get very expensive. I spent the whole time playing the claw games which are the cheapest on the boardwalk. You can get some nice size ones that are very plushy for only a quarter. Pusheens claws are 50 cents per play 3 for a dollar.
It really has a lot of great games and I do always enjoy going here but the crane games are pretty rigged. I get it they have to make money off of these but some of the claws don't even close. I feel like it wasn't as bad when I was a kid going here but last weekend it was pretty noticeable
Sweet spot to stop and play some video poker, claw machines, and arcade games! Staff has always been cool and nice. I see a lot of cool videos on YouTube at Gateway 26.
This is basically a casino. There might be 1-2 games that don't straight up involve gambling. There is a whole section of card machines. Other than that, a whole room dedicated to rigged claw machines. It's just a sleazy place that's a parody of the cheapest, scummiest, Atlantic City casinos. Totally not worth even checking out. Waste of time and money!
I love Gateway 26 arcade Casino is the best priced arcade New Jersey, & I've been to all arcades & boardwalks up & down the East Coast. Gateway 26 is a great place for families, and it is like a family to me. I've been going there as long as I can remember, well over 30 years. The owner is the nicest guy the whole place you knows how to make everything is very Fair for the kids and the big that's in all of us. Every year they give a car away a big prizes on Labor Day weekend and this year they started with
Lots of fun and games galore to play ! Won the poker game myself ! Accumulated lots of points that don't expire year to year! Great gifts to purchase with your points ! Been going here since 1994 ! Got to meet and know a few of the game technicians!
Fantastic prize selection and they always have poker tournaments for extra chances to win tickets. We have great luck with all of the crane machines as well!! Only place in Wildwood I'll play cranes!!
You could lose yourself for hours in here. It is so much fun! Cheap food and very clean. Knowledgeable staff helps out alot!
Don't honor their offer season special posted almost directly outside of their door. Cranes totally rigged. Rip off.
The places okay, it's really changed over the past several years and now there isn't much there
Good arcade with great prizes, good coin pusher machines, and staff are very helpful and friendly. That being said don't play the claw machines here, they never win. Play the other games instead.
Do not bring your family here, it's a scam! They keep the real ?point? prices on the bottoms/backs of prizes, if you go to get your prize with the points you earned by spending money, they will say that the point price posted is wrong, and then reveal the much more expensive price after bringing it into the back room. We were shocked by this, and asked for a refund for the money we spent, as we don't have an interest in a business with no integrity, and they refused to give us a refund. It's insane that a f
There is no better arcade in wildwood for the value of your points. They go father and have the best selection of merchandise to select from. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable along with the diversity of the games to play on. They are the largest on the island.
Nice amount of cranes and arcade games but items are bootlegs and the cranes are easily noticeable on being rigged. I understand that's how they make their money but not a single one gives a try on grabbing and holding.
The kids had a blast. Wish the cranes worked a bit better but there are so many variety of games to play that it didn't feel like it was a big deal.
This is the best arcade I've ever been to. Reasonably priced games? insane prize selection and so big!
The BEST arcade in all of Wildwood. Great prizes, contests and quarter crane games. It's family tradition to meet and play here every time we are in Wildwood
This is a review for our visits last year when we working our way up the coast. I am surprised I did not leave a review for them already but I know it was a busy time. This was the best arcade we went to Delaware and, it would be hard for me to say since I have a couple other favorites, but experience-wise, this was probably the best arcade I have ever been to. Their video poker jackpot nights were a lot of fun for the family. A lot of the games you have a good chance to win tickets or stuffed animals, wher
We enjoy spending time in the Arcades. This is one of 2 , we frequent every trip. It's a little dated and dark, but I love the amount of staff thats always available to help. It's great that it's digital without carrying around all the tickets.
Classic large arcade that I went to when I was a kid. Seemed to be more stuff out of order and more games that were broken and took my money or didn't work properly then I remember before. Crane cames took your money but didn't give any winners. My daughter had fun so still give it 3 stars but hopefully the tighten up the crane games so the claws let you grab a few cheap stuffed seagulls, I usually win several and didn't win one thing, also didn't see anyone else win one prize from a crane game.
Was having a great time with my children until I heard an employee by the name of Amanda speaking to another employee who seems to be underneath Amanda scorning the lady by the prizes for asking to change shifts. Saying whether she asked her or anyone else the answer would be no?. Whatever the case may be Amanda should have spoken to the employee in an office and tried to figure out why a shift change was being asked for. The girl started tearing up after Amanda and the guy in the orange shirt walked away (
Great games great staff. Machines are a bit old and quarter claw machines eat your money a lot but an associate usually quickly refunds you. Regulars there are a real problem. Think they are entitled to certain machines at certain times.
Very friendly and a lot of choices for winning tickets and prizes. Tell him that the claw machines were a bit to difficult in as such they would drop items that if they were in a less volume arcade would pick them up. The difficulty seemed to be way more than it needed to be.
Gateway has been a staple in our Families wildwood diet for over a decade. You can play for fun or save your tickets for great prizes
Lots of fun and a wide variety of machine. Coin pushers, poker machines, skill machines etc. The prizes are fantastic and very reasonable for points/tickets. Bring cash as you get better deals as opposed to credit cards. We attempted some of the claw games however as others have said the claws are very loose and don't grab. The claw arms even kind of bounce when going down so super hard to win prizes.
Arcade was fun but limited pinball games.
This place is an absolute scam. Do not come here unless you want to burn your money. The machines are all broken. All the claws are so weak and cannot pick anything up. Even if you manage to pick up a prize, the claw hits the top and shakes and immediately drops your prize. You are almost guaranteed to lose. Expect nothing but disappointment if you come here. These machines eat your money and give nothing in return. So so sad to see the disappointment on the faces of my children after them not winning anyth
Best arcade on the boardwalk hands down. My son and family love going there. Have been going for years!
I don't know which is better. Gateway 26 or Mariner's Arcade. I feel like Mariner's Arcade is better because there's more than just claw machines. In Gateway 26, there's just claw machines. In Mariner's Arcade, there's multiple machines. I guess if you're a claw machine person, go here.
We have been going to Gateway 26 for years, and it's always a place we stop at when down at the Boards. Their game variety is great, their claw machines are always fun and their staff is excellent. With the games, there is always a game for everyone. The claw machines always have some of the coolest prizes and the staff there is always willing to help, and are always kind. There isn't a bad time whenever we go there. I recommend it to anyone on the boards, over any of the other arcades.
Absolutely horrible Management. Very rude. A blonde woman was really disrespectful. Tries to take advantage of kids at the arcade. Be aware!
Used to be able to come in here with 20 bucks and leave with a handful of crane prizes, now I just leave with disappointment. None of the machines even try to grip the prize. They were all packed with prizes so it looks like they just made them ultra rigged to barely ever pay out. Sad to say I will not be returning after coming for years.
Great arcade and such an iconic staple on the Wildwood boardwalk! Even in my 40s my husband and I still visit and play games! Great friendly staff who also make the environment an enjoyable experience! Games are reasonably priced and prizes are available for both young and old!!! Highly recommended stop when you are at the Wildwoods!!!!????
Claw machines are an absolute scam hooked a stuffed animal on different machines multiple times and it recoils so hard it drops it. Also the claws are way too lose. I came he pre pandemic and winning was do able now it absolutely is not. You'll waste money and your kids will cry.
Bought a 4 person package on groupon to use here. We had a blast. Lots of different machines to play. Some take real quarters, others use a prepaid card. We ended up with almost 3000 points in a couple hours. This arcade has more prizes to choose from than ANYWHERE else I have ever been. We left with lots of fun (but kitschy) souvenirs.
Crane games are impossible. I saw an attendant going around and opening every game (even the 25 cent ones) and adjust the prizes and digging them into the rocks at the bottom to make them harder to win. I think I saw maybe two people win out of all the machines and I was there a while. There are better places to go on the boardwalk.
It's an arcade with lots of crane like games and a few video poker machines. When we arrived, many of the machines to buy cards for the arcades were offline - but there was staff to help purchase cards. Arcade games are pretty pricey compared to the usual stuff back at home. It's a bit dingy in there too. They have a MASSIVE selection of prizes - quite shocking - but it'll cost you so many tickets to get up to the levels necessary to get the good stuff (per usual). Overall - pretty disappointing, but one o
Probably one of the better arcades on the boardwalk though it isn't quite what it used to be. It takes a lot of tickets to win something and the prices have definitely gone up. While most of the games are fun to play, only a handful are worth your time in terms of ticket value per play. If you're skilled, there's a few machines that will pay out handsomely. Don't spend your money on luck based games if you're looking for tickets. And for the love of God avoid the cranes. The prizes are tempting but they're
Great staff who were very helpful and nice. They also have a great assortment of games to play and good food inside as well. Big plus is there is air conditioning so if it's really hot on the boardwalk it's a great place to stop in and play games and cool off before heading back out onto the boardwalk.
This is one of those arcades that uses a rewards card and virtual tickets. The machines are a little dated, but its a fun fun place. The games are reasonable, and kids can play a while for the money. They still have machines that are a quarter to play, and that's nice. It does take a lot of tickets to win a prize, so if you're looking for prizes, it may take you a while to accumulate enough. If youre just looking to have fun then it's worth stopping in if you're on the boards
The kids had fun. They were able to win things on the crane machines and that made them really happy. The prizes for people who only have a low number of tickets are no t that great. However, we were able to spend an hour easily in the arcade.
It seems they improved on the win lose ratio for the crane games. Some machins were broken, like the 25 cent ones where you get one shot at moving up and across. Though the staff are quick to help if the machines do malfunction. Still a fun place to hang out.
They must be struggling with money, the crane games for past month have not been grabbing. They adjusted the claws so loose that you never win anymore. You used to be able to win a small doll with about $10 worth of quarters, now $30 and you walk away with nothing. Walk around all the games are full and watch others no one is winning. 3 times in the past month we walked out of there and the kids didn't get one win. Advice to others save your money go next door and buy your kids toys and save money.
Great place! New card system so no need to worry about quarters everywhere. Free play with each recharge. Several cranes still use quarters. Hourly drawings. In my opinion, best place on the boardwalk.
Big arcade lots of games. lots of claw machines. I believe at the end of 27th Ave North Wildwood. If not like a block over. Paid parking lot nearby and pizza. fun time ush price for arcade.
This is a very nice arcade with a wide variety of games. The reason for 3 stars is because many games no longer give tickets. Some of the games take quarters still but the majority require a prepaid rechargeable card. In some of those games the "tickets" go right on the card but you don't know how many. Just takes away from the fun of seeing your ticket rewards and seeing how your winnings are coming along.
Crane machines are severely rigged to not win. You can spend 40 dollars on 1 machine and not get a single stuffed animal. Definitely try some other places first. I stopped in here several times this summer and I never see anyone win anything in them cranes. Better off playing ticket games and then you can cash the tickets in for prizes and that is much better. It's a fun place for arcade games too.
The 25? crane games are where it's at! Win rates are better than typical crane games.
I had so much fun at this place. Did I spend a ton of money? Yup! But I did actually win a few things, some of them being really nice plushies that I've seen at Hot Topic. The 25 cent machines are cute but you can only move the claw twice, so you just have to know where you want it. Are the machines rigged? Yup! But so are all of the arcade machines at every single boardwalk in the entire United States. It's still really fun and the place has the widest selection compared to other arcades in Wildwood.
We had a good time here
I had a great time playing the Wizard of OZ machines. The service was excellent and the employees are very friendly and helpful.
Visit this arcade at least twice when I am on vacation. My kids love the variety of games, claw machines, and poker machines. The prizes cost a reasonable amount of tickets. Highly recommend, and will be visiting again next year.
Best arcade on the Boardwalk hands down. The ticket system is normal and makes sense, they also don't expire. So if you only go one week a year you can have the points rollover! They have all the fun machines including The Wizard of Oz and the 2 player Sonic Basketball game. Lots of fun, raffles, crane games and fair priced snacks and beverages. No alcohol served here, but a solid place for friends and family! Would reccomend!
My favorite arcade been going here since the 80s, remember when cashing in the coins you would get gateway dollars/coupons reminded me of monopoly money. Great place, Great People, and Great Prizes. Best Value when it comes to arcades on the Boardwalk.
I have been coming to Gateway 26 since I was a kid. Prior to the current card system you would use cash to play games and receive paper tickets and tokens. You would then turn in your paper tickets and tokens at the counter and receive a paper certificate. You would then redeem the paper certificates for the prizes they offer. When I went to redeem the paper certificates, I was told that they were not certificates, but receipts for a card and that they were not redeemable. The paper certificates I have are
Scammy, scummy folks here at Gateway 26. They're horribly rude and unhelpful when their policies screw guests out of rewards that were earned by the rules posted. I won't ever return, and I'd suggest everyone take their business to Ed's instead. Their ticket value is 20% higher, and maybe you won't have to fight an employee over $20.
More of an arcade than a casino but it's no big deal. Live poker tournaments is where it's at but arcade is also huge. Lots of good food specials too, I recommend the burgers the gyro sandwiches and the shakes are all good too. Every place on the boardwalk has a cool arcade for this is one of the larger ones
I initially saw "casino" and thought I'd found a nice little spot on the water but it's actually an arcade with a bunch of video poker machines. I guess that's technically a casino, but my hopes were dashed. The arcade itself has a good selection of games but the prices are a bit higher than other arcades. The trade-off to that is that it's open far more often. The crowd wasn't bad while I was there & the attendents were pretty focused from what I could tell.
GW26 has and always will be the best place to go to, to have fun. I've been going there since I could walk. The employees are sooo nice, there always friendly and ready to help you, especially Danny, not once did I have to wait for someone to fix a machine, or give me coins. He was always making sure I was having the best experience. He definitely deserves a raise of something special, because he was amazing. The arcade also has a huge variety of games, it's great for kids but it's also very fun for adults.
Very good arcade/casino, amazing for kids and teens and all ages really.
This used to be a go to place because all cranes were a quarter and you could actually win. Now it seems much more difficult to win and a lot of cranes are now 50? instead of a quarter. It gets 3 stars because it still holds a special place in my heart.
They have so many claw machines. Most of them are only a quarter to play. They also have a poker game going on and many other games.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
