Always awesome! Tradition to come here when we are in town. We miss the coin games, but the cards work well. The only critique is that some of the games do not give you tickets, and I wish it was more clearly marked which ones do and which don't. It's hard to play and plan the way it is now.
What a cool place! While vacationing in Murrels Inlet, we had a rainy day. We looked up things to do and found this retro - old school arcade that had both new/modern games and a top level of awesome first generation games. It was very clean, well priced ashes run! We ate lunch at the GiGi?s cafe attached to the arcade and it only dated to our ?experience ? I felt like I was back in the 80?s again and I got to nail my daughters with me to the coolest generation on Earth ???? I highly recommend checking them
I have no idea about the arcade, but I can tell you this place has some of the best burgers and fries you'll ever eat. Burgers are all hand patted and cooked to order. Fries are amazing?hand cut fries made to order are on my list of top two of all time! My wife got the ribbon cut fries, which is a whole potato spiral cut and then fried and seasoned?unbelievable! Can't go wrong either way! (Pics were made after we had already about half of each.) Great, personable service, and wait time is reasonable given
We love this place. We've been going for 13 years. Fun games in a fun environment! No more coins or tokens. You buy the reloadable card and decide how much money you want to put on it. The block that the arcade is on has places to eat. This arcade is on the street across from the beach and Garden City Pier, so there's a lot to do for a few hours after you park.
This place has always been great, but it's even better being able to bring my kids here too! They have so many great games to choose from, you load a player card and swipe to play and get your tickets. The staff was incredibly kind and we loved the whole visit! They have restrooms in the back, a grill up front, a prize portion and even the old baseball style games that we adore! We love this place and the visit!
I got a Grilled Chicken salad from there. Big mistake. The Chicken appeared to be thigh meat and was cut up all in tiny bits. The salad consisted of lettuce, carrot shavings and funky tasting Chicken meat. They put 2 bags of Croutons in as a "filler" just to make it look bigger. One tomato would have been great, maybe some shredded cheese. Absolutely terrible.
I love burgers ...I eat alot of burgers... Every where I ever go burgers burgers burgers..... This awesome and friendly place has one of the best double cheeseburgers I have ever eaten ... We vacationed 3 days I ate 4 burgers from here ... Yes that good .... And the employees were top notch as well... So glad I chose to stop here.
We came to town for a graduation, and one of the first places we stopped was the pier, after not wanting their food we stopped at GI Gi?s , to say they are good is an understatement. We ate here 3 times in 5 days! The cheeseburger with pimento cheese is amazing, the fried pickle spears equally delicious, the cheese curds- as good as cook out if not better! Free refill on the lemonade! The food was amazing you won't be disappointed. Let's talk about the service, Kera waited on us twicw out of 3 visi
Spent the day at the pier & beach. One of our favorite days! It's so convenient to have access to the bait shop, restaurant, bar, arcade & ice cream shop in one stop! The beach was lovely and we have memories of catching (& releasing) starfish - so cool!
Kids loved it and we did too, with all the retro games
Place had really good food. One worker who really stood out was Robert, he was very friendly and uplifting! Robert was great and the experience here was amazing. I had the Tuna Salad and Spicy Pickle Fries. Highly recommended!
We always have a great experience at this arcade. They have a large selection of games from the old school games from the 80's and 90's to the brand new more computerized games. I enjoy the older ones for nostalgia and the new games are more interactive for the young one. Great time on a budget.
Alright, listen up, folks! Grab your fanny packs and sunscreen because I've got a story to tell you about the best dad day ever at the Garden City Pavilion Arcade & GiGi?s Grill in Garden City, South Carolina. This place is a smorgasbord of fun, food, and family-friendly shenanigans that?ll make even the grumpiest teenager crack a smile. Picture this: you walk in, and it's like the Willy Wonka factory of arcades. The lights are flashing, the bells are dinging, and the smell of fried food is in the air. It?
Great food ?? Great dessert ?? Great service ?????? Courtney helped my family and I with trying to figure out what we wanted to eat and our desserts. They have an arcade connected next door for the kids. Great family oriented place. PS Try the Graham Central Station ice
My family loves this place!! Great food, great ice cream! Super fun games!! ?? Helpful staff!! Been there last 2 summers!! ???
Absolutely love GiGi?s Grill. The food is always fantastic. I came to the arcade here as a child and now I come for the food! Highly recommend the chicken philly plate, funnel cake and boom boom shrimp!
Pretty cool arcade. I would've given it a 5, but a bunch of games are out of order or have things broken. (DDR2 - on one side had the "right position" that didn't work. It made it slightly frustrating for competing cousins.??). The workers were competent & helpful. Two teenage boys 13 & 14 were able to kill about 3 hours in there. ?? Cheesecurds were an interesting treat/snack! :)
I'm ole skool ?? I love the arcade games. This is a 2 story facility. New games downstairs and the old ones upstairs. They take quarters and tokens. Gi Gi's is open for good eats. Something for the whole family.
Stopped in at GiGi's Grill for some fries and a drink. Fries were freshly cut, crispy, & hot. Dining areas was super tidy and clean. Customer service was amazing! We will definitely come back.
We had lots of fun here! It has plenty of games (older and newer). There are places to get food nearby. The tickets changed to a digital point system, which uses a card, instead of paper tickets. What could be better: handicap access and parking, available seating, and air conditioning. For anyone who may get easily overstimulated, is very noisy and a bit crowded. Still a good place to take kids for making summer memories and to get your family out of the house.
We were so excited to bring the kids up here...We thought that an arcade at the beach would be awesome. What a joke. Half of the games were broken, some would just take mo ey off your card and do nothing. The prices for the games were ridiculous. Do not recommend at all. Your kids will be disappointed and trust me, the pier is a better choice for arcade games. The food was the only reason I gave it 3 stars. The Philly's are Incredible.
Tons of people if you like being in crowded places with a lot going on. This is for you. Use credit or debit cards to load the game play cards. Make sure the kids know their spending limit before entering. Ice cream shop next door and Sam's right on the other side if you want a hot dog or a quick bite.
Fun fun fun for the whole family they gots all kinds of yummy treats to different neat games gets packed but is definitely fun !!!
We were given great customer service from Ms. Pat! She really treated us well and helped my son?s birthday experience to be great! Great game selection and hard working friendly staff!
Very cool place to let off some steam and let your inner kid out! My toddler had a blast! The upstairs was roped off so we couldn't get to a lot of games and several were out of service.. but overall a fun place to go for some family time.
Great lil place to hang out for awhile! Lots of great new games and if you're feeling nostalgic, go upstairs to the older games! I love GIGi's!!! Great food and ice cream!!! Try one of their funnel cakes! Delicious!!!
My family?s favorite place in Garden City hands down. We have so much fun in the arcade and we eat Gigi?s almost everyday when we're in town. So many memories made here over the years and we look forward to making so many more.
Best burger and fries you can get in garden city pier area. The openness of the arcade and the sounds of the skee ball really have a vibrant beachy feel to them. I loved coming here as a kid and now I love bringing my kids here and showing them some of the games I used to play.
Pat is the best! Love seeing her every year we come down!
A Garden City staple featuring vintage vibes, friendly staff, plus a mix of classic and modern arcade games. Gigi's Grill is great for a quick bite of American fare (burgers, fries, chicken tenders, etc.) or some decadent Hershey's ice cream.
This place is great for the whole family they have all kinds of fun games and great prizes plus the grill attached to it has some the best burgers and a homemade sauce called boom boom sauce that goes good on everything i love this place
Great place!. I have been coming here for years. Always fun. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.
I love this place! The attached restaurant is amazing and the games are so much fun. The atmosphere makes you feel like a kid again.
All I have to say is me and my boyfriend always loved coming to this arcade every year when we travel to the beach until now . The night shift employees are very rude . They had to close early tonight at 10:15 . We had 2 mins left and we were getting our prize before we left and we were picking out our prize and the employee said ?don't take forever we close in 2 mins? okay I get that but you don't have to be so rude to the customers . Definitely won't be coming back what happened to the nice employees that
LOVE the cheeseburger!!!! Bun is light and fresh does not fall apart, cooked perfectly, hot. Service is fast, so friendly, and place is clean. It is bustling with families and kiddos playing in the arcade--summer VIBES!!! DO NOT pass this place up when you are in town!
Been coming to this arcade for so many years, I love it, they still have some of the old games I remember when I was a kid. They've updated to cards for COVID for both tokens and tickets.
Don't let the outside fool you. This is a very updated arcade inside. I only saw a few games not functioning. The ice cream from gigis was some of the best I've had. We got the brownie batter. Also games were not over priced. Don't miss out on this place if you are in the area.
The credits per game was very reasonable, went when it was raining so it was crowded and took longer to get the prizes then play games but please be patient with the staff, they are short on people and it is tourist season so go with the mindset of having fun and adding a little extra time so that they can serve you as best they can.
Very nostalgic, love the classic games. Ms Pat was very friendly and helpful with our kids.
Great atmosphere. Games for all ages, clean and reasonably priced. We had hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, a chicken sandwich, and fries. Along with ice cream. Food was freshly prepared. The fries are hand cut and all of the grill items are reasonably priced, too. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. We will be back.
This wasn't what we expected. Didn't really like the concept of not being able to play without swiping a card, which you had to purchase. It took us a while to figure this out and just as long to find someone to help. They didn't explain how it worked with credits and tickets that are stored on the card. Might have partially been my fault because I haven't visited many arcades on travel. So wouldn't hurt you to check them out if you understand the concept and enjoy this kind of arcade.
Wow!! What a great little find! We were hungry after riding all day and walked to the corner and found this gem!! We were greeted by Wallace, such a good kid and very helpful!! Knowledgeable about the location and surrounding areas. Food came out quick and hot. A place with an old time feel with milkshakes and an arcade.
Staff was rude & disrespectful. One of the manage members was vaping right in my face. Highly unprofessional! The tables were dirty, the floor under my table was dirty, and I found a cockroach in the bathroom. Terrible overall experience!
Amazing place! The games are SO fun. I'm always a believer that an arcade is all about the games, not the prizes; and this place has an amazing variety of both! The games are super cool, high quality, and in great condition. There's also a large variety of vintage ones as well. And as for the prizes, they're also so good! It's not just a few pieces of candy for a thousand tickets. There's high quality prizes and you don't have to break your bank playing games to get access to any. Also, the prize counter wo
My family and I went there over the new year holiday weekend. We were a very large group. They treated us with patience and kindness. Even with our large group. We had a little baby that the young lady working there gave special attention to when she needed some milk. Helping from her heart really stood out. Very nice person. They had our order correct, food hot and checked on us several times. And the ice cream was delicious. I had butter pecan and brownie on a cone We were there out of the Raleigh NC are
Great place to bring kids and a great selection for adults as well. Kids had a blast! Very nice seeing the retro arcade titles upstairs. As well as the 2 pinball machines.
We love this arcade and the grill was delicious. Handmade hamburgers and fresh cut French fries. The employees were very nice and help. Come visit them.
Love this arcade! My kids have a great time here. The staff is always helpful. Even late at night when they are tired and just want to get out of there, they are so patient with kids asking questions. My family visited Saturday 4/8 and we appreciate the employees very much. Thank you!
Great staff!! Wish I'd gotten young ladies name.. she didn't just stand around.. she found work and did it. Food was fair ... its quick easy beach food. She worked noonish on 7/16/23. She deserves a raise
If you want AMAZING diner food you definitely have to stop at Gigi's when you visit the beach/pier. Or if youre just wanting something snacky and tasty their funnel cakes are awesome AND they have ice cream to cool you off after a day on the beach. The arcade keeps my 6 year old busy so I actually get to enjoy my meal hot. My family and I are frequent diners, especially since my parents moved down there last year. I try to go at least once every time I visit them, we love it!
We had a great time here. My kids enjoyed the games downstairs and my husband and I had a great time playing games from our childhood upstairs. It was so fun- Asteroids, Ms. Pac-Man, Mario, Frogger, Tekkin!
Absolutely love this place! We never visit the beach without at least stopping by! Love the nostalgia, I hope the owners never change a thing. This is the absolute best arcade there is at the beach.
Garden City Pavilion Arcade is a tradition for our (nuclear) family it is like a nostalgic time capsule. It's one of our favorite spot in the Grand Strand area, a yearly pilgrimage. The classic arcade games transport us in time, making it an unforgettable experience every year...
My husband, grandson, and I stopped in for a snack after fishing at the Pier! An absolute treat it was! The Funnel Cake was delicious and the staff very friendly! Thank you from MN!
Went last night with the family to grab some burgers from the grill. They were outstanding! Thank you for the awesome food. We took it to the pier and throughly enjoyed! My boys have been asking all morning if we can go back again today. It's a special place to have here in Garden City.
The woman who has been working their the past 4 years we've been coming down to Myrtle Beach is the nicest human being! Enjoy striking up conversation with her while me, my husband and our kids play games ??
Lots of fun for kids and adults! We visited here with friends that were staying with us. Everyone had a great time. The variety of games is nice, and the prices were very reasonable. My only suggestion would be to have more pinball type games for the older folks that still love playing the older style games.
While there are still many fun arcade games to play, the experience is not the same. There are no more immediate tickets given for playing a particular game. You now have to buy a game card and your tickets are accumulated on the game card. There are also more button pushing games versus actual hands-on active involvement games like the Whack a Gator used to be. This used to be our favorite game, but was replaced with the button pushing version of the game which was not much fun. The place is still a clean
Unfortunately sams corner was closed today so we gave the food a chance here at gigis.. the employee at the counter jj, from the start giving off attitude.. I didn't say anything.. I go to pay and she throws my receipt down and throws the pen at me causing it to fall on the floor and then trys to laugh it off.. no apologies anything.. one plate of food came up and was finished before a buddy even got his & we ordered at the same time. Food was average.
This arcade was the most family friendly place we've been here in Garden City! The staff is very friendly (Miss Pat is the BEST!) and are diligent with keeping it clean. Great selection of video games...even for us Grandmas! :-) Highly recommend this place for all ages!
This has been our family arcade for at least 40 years! So many memories of going there w cousins as we were younger. Now going w my parents as they are getting older....seeing them still have their ?inner child?, getting excited about winning tickets...the feeling never gets old! Love that they still have the ?old school? games too. Memories never fade. Cherish this place like it's a part of my family...b/c it has been a happy place for all of us for many years
In the arcade, the worker that helped me which was Slade, did a fantastic job in assisting me and was very polite. However, in the grill today, the owner or manager Gigi, walked around and harassed a worker for giving a customer some extra ketchup with her meal and continued to harass her and follow her throughout the remaining time she was there. This was very unprofessional, and I can definitely see why they are so short staffed!
Finger licking good!By the time I got my phone out to take a picture, it was almost all gone. The service was the best I've ever had. I was treated very nicely.
A lot of fun was had. $20 goes a long way. Many of the machines were down, and the upstairs section used tokens while the downstairs used a card. This made the upstairs unusable. Tickets were not generously distributed. Kids had fun.
Absolutely best arcade. Food is delicious and large selection of ice cream. Staff was exceptionally friendly especially Ms. Pat. If your visiting the Grand Strand, this is a must stop in for great food and games. Very fair prices too.
Best local arcade with vintage games and lots to keep the family entertained. I would like to see more pinball machines, but I am a huge fan of Skee ball, which they have several of those. The kids LOVE this place. Definitely worth a stop if in Garden City! They have Deal or No Deal game as well. Stop by and win some tickets and prizes!
I met one of the owners on her day off at the water park and she suggested Gigi?s grill to me, she was super kind and helpful in the park so we decided to go their for dinner. I have to say this was the best burger on the beach and in garden city for sure! Go in and see them if you're craving beef or ice cream
Games were fun. My only complaint was when we got done playing, there were no attendants around for us to turn in our tickets for prizes. We looked around for 20 minutes and there were no attendants to be seen. Thankfully my kid is still really little and didn't know she was missing out on a prize.
Staff at the grill is top notch. Make sure you get the homemade hand cut fries. And ask for malt vinegar. Local owned family business and we come here at least a dozen times a year.
Several of the games don't work. There wasn't much variety there. A couple of times, we were able to find an employee. But most of the time, We just lost the money. Way too expensive for this. Employees seemed to not care, and some were borderline rude. Then we got ready to "cash" in the tickets. I don't expect much for the prizes, but these were worse than most. My grandson asked if he could see something on the wall -- didn't touch it because I stepped up and said no. But, the employees said they couldn
Great time, then Ice Cream at GiGis!
Wonderful family owned and ran arcade and grill. The ladies at the grill made us feel so welcome. The ice cream was delicious and a generous portion for the price. Great spot to visit
The great American classic boardwalk arcade lives on at Garden City Pavilion. Take your kids and have some fun! They have most of the classics and a few new games. I love the boardwalk baseball mechanized game! I wish they would fix the runners in the top display window, but it's still worthwhile. There's a diner on site, games for tickets, a great redemption center and 2 floors of games. You'll have a blast traveling back in time!
Stopped by with my dad. The area reminded him of old Myrtle Beach before it got over built. The arcade had a nice selection of games, and a good amount of customers. If you like old arcades and want to kill some time I would recommend stopping here.
This place is loud and chaotic. Not really two floors. There technically is a second floor, with all shut down games. There's an arcade at the pier across the street that is much more noise friendly and has great food.
I brought my kids here and they loved it! Only thing that kind of stunk was how hot it was there, wish the place had a/c but you'll have enough fun winning tickets to forget the heat from time to time.
Just OK. Seen better 2025 update: still just on.
Great food and prices. Excellent hamburgers for sure. Good gaming fun at a reasonable price. Best service in town. If you are in garden city we'll worth the stop.
The two games we did play on the first floor worked but on the second floor half the games were either broken or weren't worth playing because they didn't work all the way or did not have sound, and Spider-Man would not stop jumping. The staff however was nice and helpful.
Pretty cool place for adults and kids. There are lots of games to choose from. Three of us stopped in to check it out. We hung out for about an hour mid-afternoon. It was not very busy at all.
I freaking love coming here when we're visiting Garden City on vacation. We always come here. It's so close to us we can walk and my kids and I always have so much fun. I love arcades and will continue to come to this one everytime I'm here.
This is a great place to spend half a day! The pier is right across the street, and there is a little food and ice cream place right inside arcade called gigis. There food is 10/10. The ice cream is a hersheys case , they have dipped cones. Boom boom shrimp, funnel cakes and more! Stop in and see Courtney @ gigis
This is a good arcade alot of games to kids and adults to have a good time. Small ticket return booth for the kids. Great location near the peir and other attractions. Always a family favorite for us.
Keep your tickets in your pocket or bum bag. There is a "Mafia like" ring of 12 year olds who steal them and sell them on the secondary black market.
The best burger around, period! Forget Sam's, GiGi's Grill has the best burger and old style hand cut fries cooked crispy and to perfection every time. If you want a burger, this is the place to go. And the arcade is always nice too.
Such a Nostalgic place for me...my parents used to take me and my sisters here every year on our family vacations. It's still just as much fun as an adult with my own children??
Great little arcade to go to with your family. Not the widest known in the area so it makes it more fun to experience quality family time.
I've been going here since the 80s. The guy on the arcade side, that's worked there for years, is good to our special needs kid. If I could remember his name, I'd mention him. We really appreciate it.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
