Gametime Lanes & Entertainment

Gametime Lanes & Entertainment

Reviews Summary

Overall, GameTime receives mostly positive feedback (average ~4.5/5) for its fun atmosphere, diverse activities (bowling, axe throwing, arcade), and surprisingly good food. Staff are generally friendly, though some reviews note inconsistent service or understaffing during peak times. The modern, clean facility appeals to families and groups, though a few mention malfunctioning arcade games or long waits. Candlepin bowling and axe throwing are highlights, while some miss the old-school scoring system. Pricing is reasonable, though a few felt overcharged. Great for parties and casual outings, but occasional operational hiccups prevent perfection.

Customer Reviews

I wanted to take the kids somewhere to play arcades but Dave & Buster?s is a little overwhelming so we decided to come here. It did not disappoint, we spent a good hour here playing arcades and the kids loved it. The vibes are good, price is just like most arcade places.

A bunch of the machines didn't work. Including the virtual rollercoaster that was part of the party package. No one cares about attending to the games you have to search for someone relay the message and they still take their sweet time. 300 dollars and they were only allowed to play certain games. Definitely wouldnt have a party here again

It's a very cool spot with so many lanes to choose from! They also have a full bar that offers comedy and other events on select nights. My boyfriend and I had a blast playing a few rounds, and I really look forward to going back!

Great place for fun. Only downside I wish they could figure out and manage better is not having to take our licenses just to bowl. The amount of times we've forgot our licenses and other people I've heard the same thing. AND, the staff members don't even remember to give it back, what do they care, it's not their license.

Had a good time at Gametime Lanes?the experience overall was good. But heads up, make sure you double-check your tab at the end of the night. I wrote the total and even circled it, but they still tried to sneak in extra on the tip. Not cool.

Axe throwing and lunch day! Spent an afternoon with family throwing axes and grabbing a late lunch. Threw axes, 5 of us for $65 and 75 minutes. Fair price. The instructor was excellent and fun. Ordered pizza, nachos and drinks. The beer selection was good and cold. Pizza was surprisingly good. Nachos were excellent. Plenty of game selection on axe ?? course which kept it fun and interesting. This is our second time here and I would definitely recommend it for the family. We'll be back.

Attended a vendor event at this facility for a presentation, with Axe Throwing competition to follow. Good space between the pub, the conference area and the Axe Throwing area. It was a good space for a casual event.

My grandchildren had fun playing ten pin (big ball)and games in the arcade. They also offer candlepin (small ball) however all 8 lanes were occupied. They have "glow" bowling but not like other bowling alleys. There is glow lighting highlights (see photos)

This place was awesome, The staff is really friendly and professional, I do recommend to do the ax throw as a group of at least 6 people or is $ 65 dollars. Drink or the food aren't cheap. It was just my friend and I so we got 6 sections of throwing for almost 1 hour. The food is good and so are the drinks. The place is clean and neat just expect a lot of kids, also if you are throwing next to someone you kind have to slowdown a bit but it ain?t bad. The staff either helping newcomers or giving safety advic

Scam artists. The menu item named "Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap" is a flat out lie. After discovering zero bacon in my wrap, I was astonished. Despite the name, it does not list bacon in the description of the wrap, only the title. I am shocked and outraged that an establishment would purposefully deceive their patrons. Would not recommend.

Lots of fun. They have an arcade, food and drinks. Candlepin and big ball. $30 for an hour (after that it's by the minute $$$) $4 shoe rental Bumper bowling is free and you can change between players. My only gripe is that even when you don't order food or drinks just bowling they ask for a tip when checking out.

A fun place for adults and kids, definitely geared towards children. The beer and apps are good. It's loses a star because the bowling pins are tied to a string from the top which effects the game.

Perfect place for the family to hang out or just you and a group of friends. We went with the Groupon paid $23 for one hour for six of us. It was great! They had a small bar where you can buy drinks. Also there's an arcade there if you're into that type of stuff.

We went to Gametime Lanes for the axe throwing. If you go, wear closed toe shoes- otherwise you will be treated to a pair of loaner bowling shoes. We had a reservation and were escorted to our table on time. We ordered a round of drinks. Every employee we encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Hunter gave us instruction for throw the axe and individual coaching. We had a great time.

Done the outdoor ax throwing twice now. Ax throwing is fun, you can have up to 6 people per lane. The boards could use a refresh on some of the lanes. The reservations process online is easy. But make sure no emergencies happen because they do not give any flexibility in their cancellation policy. You can order beers and food outside. But beers took a really long time to come so I would suggest going inside to the bar to grab your own. The renovations they completed are nice and things look good inside. The

Great place. I love that there's a bar, bowling alley, arcade, and ax throwing. I dont like that there are 3-4 kids behind the counter doing nothing while you have one bartender serving the ENTIRE BUILDING plus all the people in the bar. Every time i went up, it took a while, and she was swamped, putting in food and making drinks for 20+ people. Do better with staffing, it's a freaking Saturday. I felt so bad for her.

This is the perfect place for family fun. Bowling, both types, clean-modern arcade, axe throwing, beautiful new bar. My son had a fabulous sweet 16 here today.

Clean environment, nice facility. Prices are on the higher side, they don't offer itemized receipts unless requested, which I'm glad I did as they overcharged. Pro tip: if you order food/drink when you check out it's expected you tip on the total (bowling and shoe usage). Feels a bit like price gouging.

We went here for my husband work outing, and we had so much fun! The lane was available quickly, and we were able to order food and drinks to our lane which was great. The food was excellent and came out quickly. The bowling itself was great, you can choice what theme you want for your tv screen which is fun. We will definitely be back!

This was a great time for adults & 2 kids aged 6 & 7. They have candle pin & big ball bowling. They have Ax throwing on certain nights. There is a bar that offers regular & specialty drinks. The food is made in-house also & was surprisingly delicious for this type of establishment.

Great bowling experience. Arcade was crowded and some of the games didn't work quite right (damaged screen for precision game) clowns don't go up and down for the ball toss. Not enough balls in some of the games. But overalls, we had a fun time overall. We wanted to do ax throwing (which we did before and it is lots of fun) but needs to be booked ahead, at least on the weekends.

Did the axe throwing experience with a group. It was a lot of fun. The scoring is automatic so it's pretty cool. Didn't have any food only drinks but the menu looked good. Beer selection was good.

This place is amazing, both big balls and candle pin, ax tossing and a great arcade. The pub menue was a little limited and the seemed to be short staffed, like most places. But plenty of drinks and sports TVs

This place is a great time with friends and family. Delicious food.

Food and drinks ?? was delicious Thank you. Fun fun. ????

So much fun! The complex has great bowling and a cool arcade. Everything is so nice and fresh. Also it is kept very clean, such a pleasure. The people are very friendly and helpful! Finally, the food is really good, a fantastic burger and the pizza is delicious. My 15 year old son and his friends had a terrific time. Highly recommend!

This place rocks! We had a great time here. They have 10 pin and candle pin bowling as well as an arcade, axe throwing lanes a function hall, bar and very good food. Prices are reasonable as well. Everyone we dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful. They keep it clean, even with lots of people here. The parking lot was packed!

I was there with friends and family. The adults had a great time watching games and throwing axes. Gametime has axe coaches that get people started and share great tips. Our grandson (8) left happy after riding motorcycles and playing other games. Highly recommend.

Great place for kids party and the pizza was good

The young guy running the axe room is the man. We had an awesome time. Got in as walk ins in a Saturday night (MUST reserve in advance if you're bowling or doing axes) and he walked us through it and chilled with us when it got quiet. We played some of the games as well. The food was good, I was impressed my the pizza quality.

They did a great job reinventing this place. The pizza is excellent and the atmosphere is very cool and modern. Lots of variety - something for everyone. Gluten free pizza is on point as well. The only thing they need to improve is how some of the staff engage with guests. They seemed bothered with questions or issues. I had this happen a couple times during two visits. But there are other employees that are doing a great job being attentive and polite to guests.

Place was clean and fun the kids had fun however why do they have menus all over the place but not one signage that says kitchen doesn't open till 5 PM? Makes no sense.you go on the website and it says they serve food. Nothing mentioned not untill 5pm.

We did axe throwing & Justin was awesome. He gave us so many tips and helped us out a ton. Give him a raise!!

Awesome place went to a birthday party and we had a great time. Highly recommend! It's a cross between Dave and busters and an awesome bowling alley with both sizes balls. Only thing I would change is when the bday party hostess starts the party they should scream "GAME TIME"!

Great place, really cool bar tenders and excellent instrutors in axe room. Signed up for 4:10....got in at 5:10. Be prepared to wait.

Really great stuff and a very clean environment.. Great place to go and have a awesome time

Very fun!! Lane had a mishap but they fixed our issue and discounted us. Will come here again!!

We've had a bunch of events here over the last year or two - and they've all been amazing. The staff goes overboard to accommodate..Jen is amazing and goes to great lengths to get everything ready for us...Ben at the bar is great..Hunter(or gunner?) worked with us at axe throwing - great tips and super nice too!.....really - everyone on staff there is just great. The pizza - omy - the buffalo chicken pizza is addictive and all the food is hot and tasty. Thank you GameTime - appreciate all you do for the com

I give this place 4 stars; 5 stars because the bowling is nice. And they have both kinds. Good vibes in a clean and professional place. Many children seem to enjoy it. But their arcade honestly is meh. Bland.. It basically gets the dreaded 1 star rating. The reason why it's so bad is because there's very little variety of games. It's boring and it's small.. Kids just mostly run around and it's quite loud in there. My 9 year old son and I were disappointed and annoyed. You can cash in your tickets for prizes

We love it here. Bowling, axe throwing, arcade, food &drinks! We've also had a few birthday parties here, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

All new and looks great inside. Bowling, Games and Axe Throwing. Scoring for bowling was automated and the kids loved the graphics for each roll... super easy, barely an inconvenience!Food was good, drinks were good, staff was very nice and accommodating. Great way to spend a snowy Sunday.

My son had his 17 year birthday party here, with his friends. We did bowling , the arcade and had pizza. There was 7 kids and one adult, the total was 150.00 for everything. They did pay for the arcade themselves.

The bar is a hidden gem. The drinks, food, and staff are excellent! They have big and small balls for bowling, an arcade, and now axe throwing. Definitely perfect for date night. ???

Great atmosphere. Great sound system! Highly recommend. Brian and Collin are the best!

So much fun! Half of the lanes are now 10 Pin lanes! The Pizza is Great!!! And they are almost complete with a new bar on the main floor. This place has seen a face lift since it's been around for 40 years, they did an amazing job. Axe throwing will be going in upstairs, can't wait!

Went for my 29th Birthday and my friends/family had a great time. We reserved two Lanes of axe throwing for an hour and it was perfect because we also were given a server to accommodate our group. The instructors for axe throwing were easy to understand and they gave good pointers. We had also reserved bowling in advance so we waited for approximately 20 minutes in the bar while they got the lane ready which wasn't bad at all (Jake was awesome). The staff was extremely nice and helpful during our entire ti

A great spot for family entertainment, with lots of colorful lights, a beautiful bar, and a very nice game room section. Their costs are the only drawback. Be prepared to pay if you intend to bowl.

We had my grandsons 5th birthday party here. The kids and adults had a great time. Lots of things to do, bowling, candlepin and 10 pin, video games. Great food choices. There is also a bar for the adults.

Fun for the whole family. We attended a cosmic bowling birthday party and it was a blast! They have reasonably priced beer available for the adults too. And the arcade area was fun too. Dinged one star because the bowling scoring system was a bit wonky, but otherwise it was a 5 star experience overall. They also had tiny shoes that fit a 4 year old!

This was my second time here and we had an amazing night. The ten pin bowling was so much fun and we were lucky enough to share space with some pretty cool people. I will DEFINITELY be going back there. We haven't had the food yet but we did enjoy some adult beverages ??

Gametime did a great job hosting our recent networking event. They made sure that everything was in place and we had what we needed for a great event!

Had a birthday party and our party host was great! The kids had fun bowling and playing games. The pizza and mozzarella sticks were good too!

Did a Saturday night date with my husband, and we couldn't be happier! We bowled 4 strings, and then went into the arcade after. What fun! The place was clean, the lanes maintained, & the beer was ice cold! Jacob was the young man at the counter, and you could tell that he really loves his job! He was funny, personable, and an all around joy! I would highly recommend this place for great family fun! And if that weren't enough, there is an amazing pizza shop right next door!

Great place to go with friends and family! Bowling, arcade, axe throwing and a great bar set up!

We were in the area traveling for vacation and our plans were rained out. This place was a great alternative with multiple types of bowling, updated scorekeeping and a large arcade. Staff were all pleasant and I really liked their "pay at the end" mentality.

Great food. Fun atmosphere. Came here for a work event and will definitely going to the new location at North Shore Mall

GameTime is really awesome! We had a blast with the kids in the arcade and on the 10-pin blowing lanes! We even got to throw some axes, overall everything was clean and the food was terrific, we will be back!

Great spot to go with the whole family. Ten pin and candlepin under the same roof is such a great idea.

We had a GREAT time here last night! The remodel they've completed is simply awesome....place looks gorgeous. The food was fantastic...we had some great boneless wings, mozz sticks - and omg..the pretzels w/dip - SO good. Pizza was GREAT! Much better than your typical bowling alley pizza for sureI love what they did here...just a great environment, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Thanks gang at GameTime!!

Food was great! Place was PACKED as it was rainy and Memorial Day weekend. My son, father and I did ate lunch while we waited for a lane (we waited about an hour and a half). We did candlepin bowling which we had a great time even though we are terrible lol (I'm not super happy that they changed to auto scoring but I guess those are the times we live in). After that we sat in the bar and got my son a chocolate lava cake. It took a super long time to come out AND it was my son's birthday so the waitress didn

We've been here a few times to play at the arcade, the first time most of the games we're working and had a good time . The second time, there were more then just a few, but that's ok! So we went to get some food, and it was good, the ambiance was ??. We'll go back to try to bowl as that looks fun!!

Went today with the kids, played in the arcade since there was a wait for a lane, even though the lanes were mostly empty. We waited for about an hour and 15 minutes. I'm ok with waiting, but playing in the arcade was a mistake!! One of the games was making the noises and lighting up but when you swipe your card, which I did on both sides of the game so my son and I could play, the game pretty much shuts down and the screen goes black. I told a staff member because this was literally the only game my son wa

Great times! Shoe rentals $3 and pay for tour lane at the end! They have COSMIC/ATOMIC bowling also regular bowling. And a new updated arcade all powered by cards . They accept cards and cash. They also have party rooms and rates. HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS PLACE AS MUCH AS WE DO!

Had the pleasure of going to gametime last night with many couples. I can't say enough good things. Such a fun night with axe throwing , bowling etc . Drinks were so good and the pretzel bites were amazing! ?? this place is for all ages, very clean and friendly staff. Definitely a hidden gem in Amesbury .perfect for watching games and hanging out or just having a family day! Definitely check it out!

My family have visited this establishment a couple of times over the last month and have really enjoyed it. I think the coolest thing is being able to order food from the lane kiosk and having it delivered over to you. The staff is really nice as well!

Very disappointed by today?s experience. It was busy for Labor Day and we were ok to wait for an hour. But after 2 hours we realized several parties who arrived after us were put before us in line. Maybe it was favoritism for friends, our foreign accent, or just incompetence. But we didn't feel welcome overall and left before even playing. Lost an afternoon doing something nice with family on our only day off?

Lots of fun. I was impressed by how good the food is for a bowling alley. The bar?s just okay. Overall great time here.

We went there for Mother?s day with our grown children!!! And we had so much fun!!! The staff were very attentive and made sure we were having a great time, we had plenty of food, and gave us tips on how to throw better. Definately do it again perhaps Fathers Day!! ??

We had my daughters birthday party at Leo's and it was a blast! Very professional staff and the party coordinator was great with all of the kiddos! I'll be coming back with the family, can't wait!

The staff was absolutely fantastic. We had a company quarterly meeting there and then we stayed for Ax Throwing and everyone had a great time. I recommend them high enough!!!!

Love how they redid the place. There's bowling and arcade a bar with pretty good food and my favorite..axe throwing. It's so much fun to go there and have a little food and just spend hours having fun.

Good games and good customer service

The throwing axes game - the machines were with some delay of couple of seconds detecting the axe hit point, so it was impossible to play any live game like hit a duck as when you hit it and unti it detects the position a duck is already flew away and it says you missed. They guy at the place tried to reset the machines but it didn't help much with the issue and that was with all of them more or less. The bowling is good. The food too.

Just a warning if you ask for water they serve it from a faucet, literally I've never seen that before in any type of service industry. I wonder if it's their hand washing sink or their dish sink- either way unacceptable to serve customers.

Both times I've been here were great experiences. We played games and we bowled. The food was pretty good too! We had nachos and pizza! This place is clean and staff was super friendly!

The staff was nice. And I like how you pay after, so that you're not limited to a certain amount of time or games. They have both kinds of bowling. And a small amount of games. My little brothers toy broke, once we got home. Had fun, though.

Great place, decent selection of food and drinks and fun (bowling (candlepin and big balls), axe throwing, video games). Expanded party area to throw birthday/corporate parties (they can run 3 parties simultaneously, 4 in a pinch).

Employees have good customer service. They are going through construction and I can't wait to see the place when it's done.

Such a fun bowling alley. We went to the arcade and had a blast, then went bowling. The music and lights are sick. Nice people working there. Pretty normal pricing for what is offered.

What a great experience!! Tried the new Hawaiian burger and it was delicious. We'll definitely be back for some more great food and fun arcades.

Went with work crew for axe throwing. Gunner and all of the staff were great! Good food and drink as well. It's going to be our team building go to.

They make you leave your license (mandatory) when getting a lane - so .. .well... i left my license here and havent heard back yet, otherwise its a nice place with nice staff. gametime folks - please reach out and contact me, i was told my license would be mailed back to me in concord ma but havent heard from anyone yet !

I visit Game Time in Amesbury at least once per week with my disabled client who absolutely loves bowling. Whenever we go, the staff are extremely helpful and accommodating, particularly Aidan who made sure we were able to get through the busy bowling alley to our lane on a very busy day and Rico who is always willing to play along with us when we present my client with her bowling awards even though that must be above and beyond his job description. Game Time has become a fun and familiar place for my cli

We had a great time. Got there booked bowling played in arcade just enough time. Very reasonable and fun first time bowling with guard rails and stand for little ones.

Excellent place to bowl. I go twice a week at least with my clients. The staff are unfailingly kind and friendly. They allways greet my clients and then congratulate them on doing well bowling. I wouldn't ever want to bring them anywhere else to bowl.

Unlike other bowling alleys that have certain times that are specific bowling times for leagues or open bowl or event nights posted on their website under "prices, events or hours" Gametime does not so be prepared to take a trip there just to be told that the empty lanes in front of you have already been reserved for a league. Happens about 50% of the times I've gone. On a positive note you can play air hockey on a broken air hockey table!

I enjoy coming here because I got to know the staff and when it was all Candlepin bowling, it was amazing! Would give 5 but, it's not the same like it use to be. I do like how it looks now from before. It's a great place for good and fun times.

I bowl in two leagues at Gametime. I do enjoy their staff and the food and service however the Candlepin Half is in rough shape. One of the ball returns is constantly making a clicking noise. The floor is worn to the point you no longer slide and I heard just last week one of the ball returns caught on fire which was luckily able to be extinguished. Please make a smart investment and fix the ball returns and replace or polish the floor for us old school Candlepin bowlers that pay good money to bowl at you

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
