My go to place in the Duluth superior area when it comes to retro anything. I have shopped around and really we only got them and the game store in the mall, but half of the time the stuff in the mall is broken or doesn't work and over priced. Here I will say, everything I have gotten has worked or has had a warranty. The staff here is also great, the reviews of the woman being rude honestly haven't happened to me. I always come in, and give them respect, and generally I get the same treatment back.you can
U should beable to return stuff if it's still in the same package if it's opened. Remember customers are always right no matter what. So I bought a batter for my controller she plugged it in. It worked but then the owner told me leave it plugged in to charge all night I did guess what it doesn't work. It's broke the battery is busted I know my shit. Worst store ever. Doesn't even deserve stars
Very knowledgeable staff & lots of games for older devices. Also has a large selection of gaming consoles.
Exceptional customer service and quality in products used/new. You can really make out the time and effort they put into preparing the games for sale. Consistently shop there when around town.
I've been in there quite a few times now and each of my experiences were great. The lady that works there was very kind each time I was there. They have a big selection of games too which is nice. Definitely will keep buying games from this store in the future!
Every time I go, there's a new gem to find. Better selection than most. I'd go more if I lived nearby.
They will say anything to make a sale because they know there's nothing you can do once you've paid. Quadruple check everything, and don't buy anything you aren't 101% sure of.
Great store, but if you go there do not deal with the woman owner. She is rude, and condescending. If you didn't like what you did, may I suggest looking for another job? I hear Dollar Tree is hiring.
From Atari to today, hardware and software with a few collectibles. A place for gamers to enjoy.
The owner/employee was VERY helpful and even brought out extra games for me to look at. VERY clean and organized plus a great selection of stuff. I bought some awesome posters for my media room and she took the time and explained some cool ways to display them. Just love this place!! We stop in each time we go to superior. Prices are very reasonable and you can tell they put care and love into the games and merchandise they sell. A++++++
Great local game store with a good selection and a variety of other services for the community here. A positive part of Superior. Easy to spot, often lots of parking nearby. Closed on Sundays. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and Facebook for updates on new things that come in.
We had a great experience trading in games and purchasing some consoles today. Staff was knowledgeable and upfront about what they could and could not accept. They seemed to really care about preserving the retro gaming space. We're lucky to have this in our community!
The lady working needs to work on her customer service! I was yelled at for almost putting my box of games on their glass counter top. Then I was yelled at for no knowing that their disc repair service was cash only and no trade credit could be applied.
Had an Xbox design Labs controller start having stick drift within a couple months. They were already familiar with the issue and were able to resolve it quickly and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.
Pros: Good selection of gaming items, clean, and organized. It's a neat little gaming store. Cons: The staff are quite unfriendly and rude. Don't bother asking for help, as they were quote "Too Busy" despite the store being completely empty. Over all, fine gaming store. It's pretty much the only one in the Duluth/Superior area. If your looking for retro games, I suggest you look online before shopping here.
Some lady told me they wouldn't take offers, on an over pricecharting library copy of a game, that was sunfaded and damaged. She said that no ? real collector? would mind if the case was damaged. She also said they don't use pricecharting and usually price around Amazon. I was once offered $100 for $600 worth of NES games, that I turned around and sold on marketplace for the $600. I have only found their selection to go down in quality and up and in price. I refuse to shop here and started recommending to e
One of my favorite game shops! Such nice people working there, seems like a family business. They have a great selection as well as some rare titles as well, such as Atari Jaguar games! They also do repairs and and offer some pretty cool figures, stickers, signs, etc. If you're a gamer you owe it to yourself to check this place out.
It's got a great selection of retro games at reasonable prices.
If im being honest, staff lady was super uninviting. Place kinda had a smell. Product is all sun faded from bay windows. Threw my games down onto the table and called them garbage, one after another. First time in. Last time in. Not sure if lady was just having a bad day, but very unwelcoming. Place kinda looked like.. garbage.
Nice store on the outside and clean however the prices seem higher than market. Any cartridge based game priced above $10 is in a glass case and organized where you can't see the prices and have to ask what every price is which is pretty annoying. The woman working was very rude and took an attitude to a customer on the phone while I was in there and had a similar attitude when I had a few questions then she tried to tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. I have no desire to return and would advise
Lady there was helpful in showing me which power brick i needed to use on my old Xbox 360 Pro (had it since 2009 and about to see if it still works) and if they have the power brick i will be buying it there :)
Great selection and a nice variety of toys and games. Absolutely love the wide variety of older (??????) games they carry. They even do custom glasses and other items which is pretty cool! They also give a punch card for every 10 dollars spent to use towards used items which I thought was pretty cool! The owners are extremely nice and friendly as well! Will definitely be making more purchases here in the future. Also, my son loves this store as well! They even humor him/me as I try to teach him how to int
Don't waste your time going here. Honeslty wish i read these comments first as they are spot on, looks like the common theme to why this place sucks.....is the female owner. She was so incredibly rude and short, she yelled at us for putting a box on the wrong spot on her counter. Such poor customer service and we will definitely keep our business with GameStop. The guy was decent but the woman was completely rude, crabby, annoyed and disrespectful. This business will fail because of this woman's horrendous
My usual purchase from them haven't had any issues but I've recently bought mw2 and black ops 1 from them. I also bought an Xbox one from good will. The woman kind of gaslighted me into thinking my console was the problem when it wouldn't read black ops 1 at all. But mw2 and every other game worked just fine on my Xbox one. She said I would need a disc reader replacement or something and it would cost me $150?. The sad thing is, when I brought the game back to them to exchange it for a different copy which
A nice small little shop, I noticed it after looking for retro stores in my area and don't regret it. Great prices and pretty friendly staff with a really awesome mix of old and new games. I picked up a SNES here and it came at a much better price than anything I saw online, and it's even refurbished. My only wish is that they had more GameCube games but I blame that more on the fact they're popular right now. All around a pretty good experience, definitely going to stop by again sometime.
The owners are very knowledgeable and friendly! We have traded multiple items on for store credit and had our consoles looked at and fixed at a very reasonable rate. We have also purchased multiple consoles and games from them. We will always go here before going anywhere else. May as well give our business to a local game store over the big box stores. :)
I LOVE this place being in Superior as an alternative to the bigger chains around. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They always have a great sense of humor. They have an excellent stock of games of yester year and although their stock of new games may not be as large they have plenty of ordering power if you know what you're looking for ahead of time. We already love shopping local and this store makes it easy by being so great
Friendliest used-game-store staff I've ever had the genuine pleasure of interacting with. Their passion is readily apparently and much appreciated. While the selection is still growing, I found something truly special there that made my day. Clean, bright, and with special events like tournament raffles, I know I'll be coming back frequently.
I've bought two game consoles here now and a few games, all have worked and been fantastic condition! Staff extremely friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond, and a huge selection! Best store in town for old games and retro consoles.
Have been in a few times and every time has been a great experience! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and they have an amazing selection for all systems. Had some discs cleaned, that now work perfectly. Would highly recommend checking them out!
I'm a gamer of over 30+ years I came in to possibly sell my PS4 game collection of over 60 + games. They offered me a very low ball offer I just felt insulted, if wanted to get insulted I would of went to Gamestop. The guy there was very cool and laid back but the female was rude and and just talked to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. I would never do buisness with this place again and will tell others the same.
Super cool staff! Helped with everything I needed. Amazing selection of consoles games and accessories
Love this place. Great selection of movies. Many games too. I like that they sold a video game console - an arcade one that has 80s early 90s arcade classics like double dragon and renegade! From, 327 (yes, that's actually my nickname)
I go into this store constantly to trade in and buy stuff. Go here, game stop rips you off. Games Then and Now has probably been the best local game shop since iplay. Seriously, give it a look. They have fair trade in prices, they have fair crediting. and they have pretty much anything you need. Everything from atari to modern gen systems. Its my new favorite game store.
Love this store! Staff is super friendly and totally helpful! Always end up going a little crazy every time I go in cause their prices are so decent! Always my first stop for a nice local game store!
This is a scam store !! Do not buy from them!! THE WIFE IS BIPOLAR EXTREQMLY RUDE AGGRESSIVE FOR NO REASON THEY STEAL UR MONEY THEY DONT ALLOW RETURNS WITH RECIPES N NEVER OPEND ALSO THE CRAZY WIFE WAS GOING NUTTS N TRYING TO RIP MY phome out my hand her nail dug a chunk out my hand im disgusted by this place they know there in the wrong n they don't care how they treat customers
Cool little retro game store mixed with some new. The owners are super friendly and were super nice to my 6 and 2 year old boys. Highly recommend if you're looking to support a local business!
Always get good service here! Love the atmosphere and the people who own the place. They do a lot to make sure you get the best out of what you're looking for. One of the only places I go to buy games anymore.
Definitely the best game shop in the twin ports! Great selection of games for all systems going back to the Atari, including the consoles themselves! Very helpful for repairing all your gaming consoles and accessories!
They were not able to fix our HDMI port (through no fault of theirs...my husband jacked it up trying to fix it) but we were able to buy a used PS4 at a great price and they had a TON of used games priced WAY better than Game Stop! I HIGHLY recommend using this local hidden gem!!
Nice and clean comic/game shop. Comic selection is very limited, more more geared to games than comics. My step son enjoyed looking at the magic cards and the staff was really helpful for him.
Good place to pick up rare games, just pay attention to the return policy, or how they explain it. Read, listen or even record it if one of the employees explain it to you, because if you don't then it will back fire on you.
Great place for the vintage searchers, the gamer vinyl was also eye catching. I purchased a few psp UMD discs and a few DS titles, everything was in great condition, it was fairly priced and worked well.
ignore the people that say that the prices are outragious at this store. store give good deals on video games. very nice people and very friendly i have very good friends with the owners. best prices and best place to go to around the northland for video games. does repairs on systems and everything. come on in and check it out!!
Excellent prices, bought my Switch there, are always happy to offer you used versions of new games. Only bad thing is that they don't have a Neo Geo.
I went here to pick up some original PlayStation games to expand my collection. I left with what I thought was ff8 and soul reaver, soul reaver just had a ding in the plastic causing audio to kick on and off and ff8 was a demo disk. I came back and the owner buffed the disk and gave me store credit for my purchase. Which I used to get ff9 and a Random ps2 title. soul reaver works good as new now and I am very pleased with the customer service. I could not recommend this place more. Five friggin stars!.
Good variety of video games from current to retro. Prices were comparable. If you knew what you were doing you could deffinatly find that gem of a game you've been looking for here. Oh, everything is well organized too!
Really good retro game store, sometimes rhey overcharge, but more often than not they have a wonderful deal waiting.
It's a great place to get all your gaming needs. But, because it's the only around here it is very busy. The owners are kind of rude!!!!
Fair prices, fair enough collection of games and movies, staff can be warm and other times felt cold. Tho cleaner business and organize they aren't that many places get games in local area.
Great shop to grab classic gaming essentials. They have games and consoles back to Atari. They also will do repairs to your old consoles.
Good game selection and all works well but when I asked for the return policy instead of giving it to me I was asked why.The Lady is very rude and unhappy with life it seems
Customers service is at its worst got a movie that did not work call owner he said to go to his store refused to give me credit or refound me my money the owner says i was threatening him because I was going to write a review on Google then says i calling the cops then i call the cops hes yealing at me when leaving the store good buissness untill you try to return damage movie
Went there for the first time ever it had terrible customer Service and could not refund my game that i bought 10 minutes later with the receipt and the "Lady" snaped out on me for trying to point at the game on the shelf
Good place to go for any gaming needs. Fair prices across the board. Nice, clean, friendly environment. Knowledgeable staff.
Wide variety of games consoles and console accessories, staff were super helpful and friendly. I live in gordon and id gladly go out of my way to there rather anywhere else!
Super friendly owners, custom orders, games for everyone! A must go-to for big time gamers, casual players, and anyone who loves them (because birthdays)!
Very nice, wish they could keep the pokemon stuff a bit more consistent but I understand. The lady working the register was very kind and funny.
Incredible game store with large selection of retro and modern games. Very neat and organized. Highly recommend.
Staff was a huge help and they have a great selection. Any fan of retro gaming should check them out.
Good selection. Very friendly staff. Found a couple of Sega games for the Master System. Thank you!
He has been a great help with setting up my gaming corner. Plus he has a variety for games and parts for different games centers.
I love that u can get the retro games sometimes cheaper and faster than Amazon. I've been there 3 times in the last month and a half
Great place to get retro gaming. They have everything from the first systems of nintendo to last gen console games.
The women that we delt with, said thank you&come again. But she was rude and and had a attitude. Personally i wouldn't go back
Had to stop in twice in one day since the selection was phenomenal! Shame I couldn't stay longer, what a blast.
Lady was very crabby prices were double eBay would not recommend to anyone
Fair prices, clean working & tested games of all generations. Cool store.
Awesome store! Reasonable prices and super friendly staff! Can't wait to come back!!!

Cool games but the staff are kinda snotty Brought in games with a couple of scratches and won't buy
Great retro store that offers much more, including system repair.
Super knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and very fair. Definitely a place to check out.
Nice used game store, new stock on some things as well.
Excellent selection of games and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
Cool store, lady behind the counter seemed like she was having a bad day.
They carry just about every game and system from the atari to PS5.
They sold me a controller that didn't work and there's no return policy. Don't Buy it!??????
Waited, then the guy was pretty cold about the item I brought in
First time shopping at this store the staff was incredibly rude and this was my first and last time ever going there again .(be ware)
They were rude as hell and it was my first time there and I will never shop there again
Great atmosphere, Good selection, Fair prices, Excellent service!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
