I love this place but there are 2 kids that work on the floor that are definitely not 21 and they smell like marijuanna, very concerning and I don't need my kids smelling that and I don't want to either. Btw I know it's them because I only smell it when they are near me. They are the ones that do tricks on the rink. A white blonde haired kid and an African American.

Got kids? Want them to burn off some energy?? This is your spot. Decent rental skates. Snack bar is basic, so don't expect to be getting a proper meal. Music selection is good enough mix of pop, rap, and RnB from the last couple decades. Skate Mates for those who aren't great are available, but can be hard to come by when it's packed.

What a delightful fun center! The mini golf course is fun and challenging. There's no wind mill, but the over the water bridge shot more than makes up for that. There's air hockey, video games and a batting cage ($1.5 for 15 pitches). It's all fit in a compact space that makes it quick and easy to get from one activity to another. My family had a great time.

The best fun anyone could ask for, great music, lights and action on the rink, arcade and games, food. This place has a lot to offer.

LOVE CAL SKATE!!!! I grew up frequenting Cal Skate and now my little guy shares the same love for skating! Had the best time renting the entire building for his 6th birthday; service was beyond fantastic, friendly and helpful, bounce house was a hit for the littlier kids, music rocked, skate games, pizza served at the snack bar, and all the friends! - what a special memory! Went for a friend's Daughters birthday party and had a blast! Haven't been on rollerblades since I was a teenager (39 now) but still was able to skate and enjoy myself. Lol The place is exactly how I remember skating rinks being when I was young.

We only played the mini golf on our visit. I really like the mini golf course. It was clean and fun it also had a unique water Hazzard the ran through some of the holes that made it fun.

Did the minature golf. Had a good time other than the fact that the place is worn out with no obvious effort to keep up with any maintenance. Multiple tears all over the course, benches are rusted out, and features are broke. Last hole was flooded out without staff letting patrons know.

Pretty cool adult night, arcade games are inconsistently expensive, the hurricane simulator broke after one try, really disappointed our group. Mini golf was great, we had a fun time there even though we only made it to the 3rd hole by closing time. Staff at funland was kind and courteous, he made sure he provided free pass cards for next time because we didnt get to finish our golf game. Cal skate admission for adults is about $10, shoe rental is about $13-$15 depending on your skate shoe preference. Mini

I was charged 40$ for 2 people for golf ,I didnt even realize it till i got home but i live a hour from this location so I couldn't even go back for a refund. Not worth it. (Also no bank errors I was charged doubled) (I'm not "warning people just stating what happened but this place seems to think otherwise...weird).

Great skate venue. Love when they do the roller derby here. It's exciting and dangerous. Props to the skaters who hit hard and get bumped around. Announcer does a great job. Very exciting roller games here

We're new to town but felt right at home - they had my size 11 skates, great place to host a 6yo kids birthday party! They have a DJ, fun lights, arcade games. It can smell a bit like feet like many skate places with everyone changing shoes, you've been warned, and if skate is not your thing, they have batting cages and miniature golf. Have fun!

Went here as a kid.. lock-in's... speed skates... school activities... birthday parties.. batting cages... put-put golf.. Now my children get to enjoy the same things I did.. I hope one day their children get to also. One of the very few places that is an ALL ages family friendly activity! Even the grandparents and great-grandparents get to enjoy themselves ??

Great place to take the kids for a night of fun. The mini golf course needs a few repairs but they don't impact the game too much.

We love the cheap Saturday mornings! Free parents (including skate rental!)? HELLO! The only downside is the site is showing its age. Still fun for the kids that don't care the ceiling leaks and walls are 10 times as old as them.

I took daughters there for a b'day party. Youngest skated w/her friends while my daughter and I skated as well. There was 1 young man running the skate rental, the snack court AND the music. He was only able to play one game for the guests(2 parties at this time) which was unfortunate because the girls would've liked to play more. In two hrs they're usually more games played. Yesterday we had a private event birthday party for my five year old from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. I got my times wrong and was there at 4:45 thinking the party started at five. The team working at Cal skate were absolutely amazing! They let me come in bring stuff in start getting prepared even though they still had regular session going on. We arrived at 2:30 and they opened right on time. The fellow was friendly and explained their system. The miniature golf course was set up to be interesting, shaded, and with lots of water features. We had a great time with the other couple, who joined us. We will definitely be doing it again.

I take my godkids and nieces and nephews here, the place smells and looks clean and the kids never want to leave. They do fun skating games and there's always a bunch of other kids the right age for ours to play with. I like the awesome retro space carpet that they have had forever and the disco ball. The arcade games are good! I wish they still shot tickets out, only one still has the tickets. They're so nostalgic. I would highly highly recommend they keep tickets! I wish they had more food options too, at least a slice of pizza! But this place is rad and I hope it stays for a long time.

I loved roller skating and definitely enjoyed myself. The staff was very hit or miss. Very rude, sassy women. Kind young teenager. Next time I'm in town, I'd love to skate again, but it would be a better experience if the workers took some pride in what they did. Most of them seemed miserable.

This place needs a guard or more employees. I was assaulted and battered in their lobby by a big group of teenagers and no one was there to help me. I had to call 911 and police didn't show up in time to catch the teens that did it. They did show the lobby cameras to the officer but didn't get a clear view of the kids face. Used to go every Friday(?) night for teen skate night back between 2009-2011ish. Now I go almost every Saturday for adult skate night. Some things never change. Sad to see some one star reviews from people blaming the establishment for problems that a few "bad apples" bring in on their own. They can't control that. However, they acted on it and now seeing cool-security-guy rolling around on his sick red light up skates, hopefully brings those people comfort. Great vibes, great business ethics.

It's a rollerskating rink. It's not so much retro as it's never changed. I wouldn't really change a thing. They have arcade games and roller skating games. You can win an icey if you're lucky. The staff are young but competent and friendly. We go here a lot

Great fun for a little park. The management was quick and attentive to minor issues with the batting cages, which were also great fun. Also, after a bit of rude criticism from me, the manager swiftly and eagerly accepted it, and made permanent changes immediately. Very surprising, and welcomed. I absolutely recommend this establishment and will go here again.

Always a good time with family! Socks for two bucks if you forgot some like me! The Snack bar is expensive so come with full bellies and some dollars to get a drink or some popcorn. Great place to go, but be aware that there could be some parties and packed. For kids who don't know how to skate, I would recommend getting a helper when you buy tickets. We were there for 3 hours and got one the last 30 minutes when we were there.

My 10-year old niece loved the skating. The staff was very friendly and helpful despite being short-staffed. It was very inexpensive and I was very pleasantly surprised when I didn't have to pay to get in since I was not skating. Very enjoyable outing!

My first roller rink was the Yuba City location all the way back in the early 80's, but since around 2001, the Chico location has been my "go to" spot for an outing filled with good, wholesome fun that can be shared with anyone of any age. When I was pregnant in 2006, I went...when my son was born, I took him in his stroller...he just turned 17 and we went out for a mommy/son date...it's perfect for such things. ???? The staff is knowledgeable and great with the kids. However the arcade area needs some attention. I spent several hours at the facility. My kids went to the arcade area to kill time before the next skate session. The machines need maintenance as they don't give the kids the tickets they win. We went as a family to the batting cages. We all had a good time, even my less athletic son. The slowest pitch baseball had the biggest line which is what my 9 year old son needed. It also pitched kind of low and was still a little fast for him, but he adjusted well. The fast pitch softball was crazy fast so my 9 year old daughter (yes twins ??) had to do the slow pitch softball which lobs the ball up high and is less natural than a pitch that she would encounter in a game. It is fun, but needs updating. The prices are really high for the extremely cheap, low quality food. The games are a rip off, like carnival games now and the prizes you can get with your tickets are basically dollar store items. You don't get your monies worth here anymore.

Super fun and chill skating rink. Very kid friendly but they have adult skate nights for when you don't want to be around kids too. Great sound system and decent rental skates. Not very friendly, seems like there reading from a script. The golf course is rather boring. And the game selection is dated at best. The ones that are working that is. How ever we did have fun. But I believe that was the person I had for company over the actual place. I would suggest going somewhere else. If you want quality.

Played mini-golf here with a few friends. It's a nice atmosphere and has cute 18 hole mini-golf course but it isn't being maintained very well. A few holes have very deep wear spots and chunks taken out of the "green" where overzealous clubbers have repeatedly hit the green. It was cheap entertainment so it's worth an afternoon if you ball on a budget.

I took my daughter there today for a birthday . The restrooms need updated. The toilet seats were falling off and overall the restroom was very dirty . The tables need updated most are looking dilapidated. But overall it was fun for my daughter. The place needs to be invested in and brought up to date.

We had our daughters 10th birthday party there and it was ok except the extremely poor customer service we got. We rented the whole facility for the two hrs and we're promised pizza, drinks our cake served and a dj, we did get pizza that was served warm at best. I've been skating here for 12 months on cheap skate night. It's fun, great exercise and brings back memories of skating when I was a kid . . . DO NOT BOOK A PARTY HERE. We got a table right by air hockey with noise and kids literally crawling on our benches. A flying puck HIT my elderly mom. And the "Tiki room" which isn't even a room. This is the only mini golf course I've been to where moving water was not only by the golf green but apart of it. Whether you like this challenge or not you'll have to find out for yourself. Overall, this is a great place for people to go hang out during the day. There are many things to do, like two different arcades, roller skating, batting cages, and mini golf. Its horribly packed and extremely difficult to get around and obviously small kids have no balance sk youre basically gonna be stuck going in a circle to bad music dodging these obstacles. The Schedule is rarely correct. They really need to update the schedule for skating. It is so disappointing for kids when we get there and find out that they are closed when the schedule says they're open.

Had a birthday package there. Not to bad on the package price but everything thing else was over costly. The place has a bad smell as if they have never cleaned the carpet, lol but people do walk around in smelly socks and bare foot. Totally worth the visit, the kid love it.

I went here on Sunday with my parent's nephews and niece, and I have to say, great experience since i came here last time when i was a young lad/ mid teens back in the early-mid 2000s. The staff were friendly, and the DJ (drew) was super cool with my request of a 70s track. Games during the 2-5 time were fun as i remember them on the rink. My person and I use to go here pretty often, but the service has deterred us from going. Last time we were there, we waited 25 minutes for someone to come to the counter before we finally left. Upon leaving, we saw the guy that was suppose to be at the counter smoking a cigarette. There was no sign put up saying that he went to break or anything. We haven't been back since because of how irritating it was. Better coverage would do wonders for this place.

Went to FunLand. Don't get me wrong with the three-star...I had a blast and would put five Stars based on the fun factor, however some of the machines at the batting cages are kind of old. They can be a tad off. They are open till 9 p.m.and also have an arcade inside a pool table included there and outside with the batting cages is a mini golf course. and as far as price goes I know I'm splitting hairs here but it could be a little bit cheaper $2 a round ( 20 balls pitched per round) for batting cages... ki

It's crazy to think that not much has changed in the last 30+ years. It's a great place to bring the family with much to do. Mini golf, batting cages, arcade games, skating sessions, ice cream, air hockey and more. The place could use a renovation, but it doesn't get in the way of family fun.

Always fun. My son loves to skate and play the games. The refreshments are very overpriced and slow serviced, but it's still a good time. The mini golf is...under whelming, but they have a nicely surfaced skate rink and fair enough skates. The music is mostly appropriate to the age group. The batting cages are a decent value. Not a huge selection of games in the skate rink or the arcade, but sadly the best in Chico. Stuck in the 70's, but kinda kitschy for all that.

We went and played some mini golf last week and they were kind enough to offer a free round to people who were evacuated from Oroville. We were not impacted, but I thought that was such a nice thing to do. We had a great time on a very fun course.

Cal Skate is fun but it's not the perfect rink to show up every weekend like some of the other places I've been to in the 90s and 2000s. They don't serve pizza and none of the employees are on roller skates. They also don't change the skating direction often or have prizes for the skating games. I also have not seen them do a "backwards skate" or something fun to challenge the rink-rats. Other than that it's a function skating rink that's great for children's birthday parties.
