The air conditioning and ocean views are pluses. While most reviews highlight affordability and fun for all ages, some note issues with claw machines being rigged or prizes breaking. This place is iconic! I am so thankful they have kept the old Myrtle Beach vibe with the skee ball and baseball machines. I like taking friends to Fun Plaza and sharing this fabulous aspect of the Myrtle Beach boardwalk with them!

We had so much fun here. Me and my man took his daughter , we had a blast. Here's a photo of him having fun

Looks like a great place from the outside but massive rip-off and gross on the inside. Save your money go somewhere else. The claw machines are rigged. Multiple times where we grabbed a toy and it would open up and drop the toy before if go to the bin. You can littlierly watch it do this if you dont believe me. Then dont get me started on the scariest bathrooms ever. Each stall is covered by a curtain and absolutely disgusting. Don't let your kids go in by them selfs not safe at all. Like I said save your m

This is the best ocean front arcade in MB. It is HUGE. They have cards you can purchase and reload. As usual with any arcade, its really hard to win a lot of tickets so you are going to spend a LOT of money, however it's tons of fun! Stay away from the claw machines if possible because they are really weak. The one with the golden eggs seemed to be most promising. They have some cool prizes though, and the staff are all really helpful especially if you have a problem with a machine! The bathroom was kind of

Place is very nice and clean. Well maintained. Enjoyed the visit and games

A massive arcade with lots of different games! Everything you could want in an arcade with something for everyone. Clean and well maintained. A great way to spend time and have fun. Definitely worth a visit!

The kids had fun there

Best arcades at myrtle beach! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the old baseball games they have!

This place has old baseball game for .50. Get 28 runs pick your prize on wall. Oh yeah wife left her wallet. She forgot for two hours. Went back after three other places and some great Samaritan turned it in.

ABSOLUTELY 5 STARS. Lost wallet here and was searching the boardwalk. Came here as last place and couldn't find it, so we ran the assistance bell, and the worker came out and gave us the wallet that somebody turned in. Otherwise than the awesome service, the games were fun and cheap. Especially the baseball one.

Update 2022: Took another Myrtle Beach trip, but this time with kids. It's pretty much the same as last time. We discovered its not really that great of a place for younger kids. Our oldest is 5 and the majority of the games he couldn't enjoy to the fullest or play. Skii ball, racing games and the classic baseball game was his go to. It also feels more expensive with kids :) . We visited during our Myrtle Beach trip 2019. It is right on the boardwalk and easy to get to. Definitely one of the bette

Today we went to Fun Plaza for our first time, and we had a blast! I really loved seeing all of the antique arcade games, especially the digger claw machines! I spent most of my money on the claw machines, and ended up winning a lot of neat things. All of the arcade machines were in working order, and I noticed the employees constantly cleaning the machines. Kudos for their hard work, and I loved seeing the glass on the machines so shiny! I loved playing the antique digger claw games, and it was a lot harde

Not too busy when arrived. Did not see a single worker present, all self serve. There's a kiosks to set up prepaid card and a few around to check balance. The prizes are kiosks as well. Games fairly cheap (skee ball was 50? per game). Pretty typical arcade games but large selection.

My boyfriend and I were down in Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks and spent 4 days in the arcade. Fun games, awesome prizes. We walked away with a whole quesdilla maker haha. We will be back next year.

Always a great time, the prizes aren't as great as they used to be, but still enjoy ourselves every time we come! Highly recommend.

In a town where most places overcharge you, this place was amazing for how far your money could be spent on your kids. We went in to kill some time and my son had a blast for an hour on $8.00. It was a very nice classic beach arcade feel and great games. We will definitely visit again in the future

Pretty fun place to kill some time. Kids love it. It's expensive but everything is. We come here every time we are in town. Love it.

Had a great time on the pinball machines! Stern is my favorite and there's four in a row in stern alley! My 2nd time to visit Myrtle Beach in the last two years. Was anxious to get back into the fun plaza and will do on next visit as well. Nice size venue

Games were pretty decent...a better variety of kid friendly games vs/ others. Felt like some of the games took my $ without giving token points to play

I've been coming here since I was a kid in the 70's! They have done a really good job of updating the games so they have a great mix of new games but have kept all the classics like baseball. That game specifically is one of my family's favorite!!!

Great assortment of games and there is always something that everybody can enjoy!

Awesome arcade. We like that they use game cards for playing games and for prize tickets. Lots of prizes to choose from. They also have some older games.

Always a fun place to go when visiting Myrtle Beach! Baseball game of course is a favorite of ours! Fun for the whole family

A large arcade complex that is the other arcades. I recommend you go to this.

Variety of games. Lots of skee ball. You play with reloadable cards that add tickets as you play. Air-conditioned and has restrooms with shower curtains as doors.

We go here every year. The kids love it.So much fun..

Had a blast. Me, my mom, and my sister all went. (Don't mind the edit, was in a rush when I wrote this last time.)

Awesome place for games and fun. It made our trip to the beach worth a while.

Love that they still have the baseball games from my childhood

We spent over $100 only to get like little tiny prizes so I think it's just a little overpriced I think we will try the other ones next time

Fun for all ages. They don't use tokens. Debit or credit cards only.

Tons of fun!!! Many game choices! Large Space!!!

My family used to go here a lot every time we visited Myrtle Beach but now we went on Friday May 31st 2024 and now you have to buy game cards in order to play the arcade which really sucked. This company will lose a lot of business since they switched to game cards. Your best bet is to find another arcade that doesn't require game cards.

Great time felt like kids again playing games and laughing such fun even got our fortune read

My son loves this place. The old school pinball baseball game was great. Only $.50 per game. The update games were great also. Good time for a kid.

Husband and I came to play but it was so expensive and we just got 4 little key chains for 20 bucks worth of tickets. The other arcade down the way wasn't open yet so we went here....yeah, not again. Prizes sucked, games expensive and I don't like how the prizes you have to get them from a machine, it's not very personable at all!

Very clean and spacious but I'm not a huge fan of the reward machines. When some of the prizes get dispensed they fall apart. It's a cool idea but lacking. Other than that we had a good time

I loved the old-school feel as well as some of the older games. It was also nice to see some modern games. It was a lot of fun!

Love coming here for date night. Some of the games are expensive. $20 doesn't go far here but you will have fun!

Had a great time on my birthday there. This was our last stop and the games were so much fun!

It's now air conditioned, which is nice. Love the baseball game, it is always a must and I finally beat the hubby!

Lots of games. Great family atmosphere. Would help if workers were more visible near the entrance to answer questions and help you get started.

My all time favorite place to play skee ball and play other video games!

Super fun arcade! Lots of game choices and fair pricing! Can't wait to go back

I'm sure I have spent BMW money here lol definitely a good place for family fun and a great atmosphere

This place is great. Has all the old school stuff you would want to play in an arcade. Plus has a bunch of fun newer games too. There is a completely integrated card system that you put money on, which is used to play games and tracks your points (tickets) used for prizes. My whole family spent 5 hours here having tons of fun.

Always a great time with the baseball game!

Definitely good, old school fun. My kids (6 and 8) loved it. I don't think much has changed in this pavilion since I was there as a kid in the 80s. But that is part of the charm. Loved watching my kids have fun with these old and new school games. A must for any family or anyone just seeking a little nostalgia.

My grandchildren love this place! And the adults had fun, too! The 1950's era baseball game was the favorite of the kids and adults. Every time they visit us this is first on their list.

Don't recommend this place to people of color. Their employees refer to black people as apes. When management was notified, nothing was done. Management made excuses for the employee Justin. That's very unfortunate Fun Plaza!

One of my favorite games to play of all time! Love coming to fun plaza!

My parents brought me here for years as a child and now I am a Myrtle Beach resident and I love brining my own children here all the time to spend the day playing all the classic arcade games. Staff is always friendly and helpful, the arcade is always kept spotless, there is a huge selection of games and is in a great location right along the boardwalk. Highly recommended for visitors and locals alike!

Fun place but costs way too much...40 dollars was gone in less than 15 minutes. Also the tickets to prize ratio was practically impossible to win anything good. Spent 40 and didn't even have enough tickets to win a pack of sour patch straws that only cost a dollar and a half for.....

Super fun! No longer uses tokens or quarters. Instead, you put money on a card and swipe at each game. They have a combination of old school games and newer games. Some allow you to build up tickets to exchange for prizes. We've been here several times in previous years and will absolutely visit again!

This place was such a great time! I felt like a child again and my kids had a blast. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was super clean, I was very surprised! We got some tickets and great prizes. Will return next year.

Nice little arcade, considering I have little experience when it comes to arcades. My only complaint is that a handful of the games were out of order. It was nice to cool off from walking the board walk, and enjoy some classic games. Thanks for giving me memories of my childhood from Chuck E Cheese.

We always come here when we come to Myrtle Beach. The last place we know that have the oldschool baseball game.

Great place for Old school gamers, plus newest video games as well. Lots of things to do for All ages. The place is pretty big. The restroom was very clean surprisingly for all the people coming in and out.

Still my favorite place. I'm upset that the baseball machines are now .50 per game. They were still a quarter last year. Considering the prizes are kinda bad now. They should have stayed a quarter. Other than that. The sounds, the lights, the excitement...love it.

It's been a tradition since I was a child to go here for arcade games. Now that I have kids I always make time to take them here. It hasn't changed much but all the games always work and it's always super fun. All the games use quarters and they have all the classics that you grew up with. Plus the location is great because it's right by the ocean and food and there are many resorts nearby too within walking distance.

Never had a bad experience here. My kids love it. Everything from the latest video games to old school baseball games of yesteryear. I take this kids down and give them 5 bucks to play, they love it and are always happy when we leave. Nice family environment with friendly staff and visitors alike.

Prize options are Awesome. They actually have like souvenirs and gifts you would want s an adult and older kids and stuff for the little ones too but I spend quit a bit in there and used my tickets to buy souvenirs 2 birds 1 Stone

Family owned clean cut business. Staff is awesome, very helpful. Vintage baseball games from the 50?s for a quarter. Stern pinball machines in excellent condition. Play games while looking out the windows at the ocean. What else could you ask for?

So fun for both kids and adults.

Fun Plaza is an Arcade/part of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach. I've been to these arcades my whole life. I would have given five (5) stars as I love the classic games (baseball, Ski Ball, Etc), but do not enjoy the expensive ($1.50+) fad games and the significant increase in price over the old time games. This is still a very fun place for me to visit as it reminds me of simpler times and being a kid.

The Games Themselves Are Amazing! Expensive they are as well, which I can understand. Because Myrtle Beach history for tourism and stuff. But the thing that is preventing me from giving it 5 stars is the bathroom. They smell bad and have no doors to close, no curtains anything. It's hard to do your business with the thought of someone randomly walking in. Thankfully it has never happened to me. Other than that. This is a great place to be. Improve the bathroom situation, then I'll give it 5 stars. Thank yo

Enjoyed the semi-old school feel with a wall of skee ball machines (50 cents through the fun card) and a wall of old baseball games (25 cents, a real quarter!) that were good fun even though some of them were not functioning properly. My 3-year old son and teenage nephew enjoyed a bunch of other games, too.

Ok selection. But the prices on some of the games were pretty insane. You will burn through money quickly.

Absolutely awesome retro boardwalk vibes and fun games. Don't have to fumble around tickets or tokens, everything is handled by a recyclable card which holds the play money plus tickets, which is a really revolutionary system and much better for the environment! Can't recommend this arcade enough if you're strolling by the boardwalk, stop on by!

Pretty upset because I asked for assistance with a claw machine. The lady behind the counter kinda smirked but still called for help which was a red flag. The guy shows up I explained to him that my daughter and I was grabbing the item MULTIPLE times and it's weight made it slip right out! We watched it let go. He told me that is basically how they are designed. It's not skill just luck and lots of money to move the item close to the whole and hope when it falls you get ?lucky?. In short the claw machines a

My family and I have been coming for years, but this visit really disappointed us. The change from quarters to an electronic card didn't bother us too much. However the removal of the token action games really bummed us out. The most upsetting part was the cost of the claw machines. This one claw filled with Mario plush costs $3.00 a play. My biggest suggestion is to raise the prices of the machines, but make it so they guarantee a win or decrease the price of the machines. The best feature at this place wa

Not a single employee in sight when you enter. Bathroom is beyond disgusting. No soap and curtains as doors for the bathroom. Completely unsanitary.

I've been coming here for 20+ years. They recently updated the machines so they are digital and don't spit out real tickets. I know it's better for the environment, but the games are more expensive and it's hard to tell if you actually ?win?. It's not open air anymore, so it kind of took some of the fun out of playing at the arcade by the ocean. Probably won't come back....it's basically Dave & Busters now. ??

This place is awesome! Would never have gone in there on my own but somebody suggested it to us on vacation. Wide assortment of games! We basically played the baseball/pinball game over and over again for an hour. It only costs a quarter and is super addicting.

We had such a good time at fun plaza! We got there about 45 minutes before closing and still had a great time! The staff were really nice and we felt like we got our money's worth.

Fun Plaza is the BEST!!! We visit every time we are in Myrtle, usually a few different times during our stay. They have a lot of retro machines, as well as some newer machines. We are both adults, no kids, and still find this place to be the most fun out of everything Myrtle has to offer. Can't wait to visit again during our vacation in August!!

Super fun place with a great selection of games. We spent a few hours here and didn't spend much. There is a game for everyone here. When I needed help, Joey was there to help! He saved the day when I lost my card. Give him a raise!

coolest most affordable (spend what you want) attraction right on the ocean on the boardwalk, right in the heart of it all- by the Ripleys attractions and the skywheel, vintage baseball machines that I played when I was a kid, and all the new games that my kids love too, great refreshments on site, this is home base for us our whole week in Myrtle each summer, FYI real *@#! this is an unsolicited non friend or family review, you've gotta check it out totally cool!?

I GIVE IT FIVE STARS BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT, THE FOOD EXCELLENT AND THE CRAB PARTS TO LICK YOUR FINGERS, THE WAITRESS VERY ATTENTIVE, THERE IS ALSO VERY GOOD PHOTO SERVICE. WE'LL BE DELIGHTED THE NEXT TIME YOU VISIT THIS CITY, I WILL BE AGAIN TO COME BACK TO EAT HERE. the price is worth it ??

Been coming for years. This was the latest in the years and I was worried they would not be open or reduced hours. Got to play the new centipede game!!The place is ALWAY clean. The one guy I assume is the owner is almost always there which is the hallmark of a good business. Great mix of classic and modern games. Friendly staff. Wished they had a couple of pinball machines. A must goto spot. Ps now they have pinballs and they are good ones.

Games were great! Lots of fun and a variety of options. The ice cream however, was not good. The soft serve did not have any flavor and the hard ice cream melted quick and made a huge mess. Not worth the $7 spent.

This has to be in the top 5 at least too 10 of arcades I've taken my son too. Read the article by the office very interesting and they made some great improvements like taking credit cards, ticket less system and installed air conditioning, somehow I see complaints about these changes lmao. This place had just about every game you'd expect. I'd say add the NFL quarterback challenge, piano game, big buck hunter and the punching bag for cash and they have it all. Can't wait to come back to Myrtle beach loved

I come to Myrtle Beach all the time but never have time to check out the boardwalk. My boys and I went walking and came across this place and of course they wanted to go in. I was so amazed at all the games available. I know during COVID-19 things are a little different and nerve wracking. There was always someone walking around cleaning, making sure games are working and checking on you. We had a blast. This is our last night here so thinking this is our activities for tonight! Will come every visit.

Can't believe how much fun my little had in here. Lots of games and ski ball is so much fun! Great spot to stop, play games, and enjoy air conditioning.

My best friend and I visit fairly often to catch up, and I travel from Florence, SC just because of how fun the selection of games are. The staff are friendly and it is kept nice and clean, but the last two times we've been have been awful. We're not sure if the last two visits were "off nights" or not, compared to how great our other experiences have been, but we got tired and decided to leave after 2 hours of playing that was mostly wasted. Over $50+ that we spent, with most games being between $0.25 - $1

We visit the fun plaza every time we decide to head to the beach for a few hours! The kids love it and games don't eat quarters at a time to play. Most games are .50 other arcades on the same road are upwards of 1.00-1.50 for each play.

lots of fun... Gold coins in their claw machines... This place is awesome!!!

Really fun games and plenty of variety. Even the gifts have a lot of variety; from typical candy and nonsense arcade gifts, to shot glasses and even a TV! Even if the TV was a lot of tickets it's cool to see a place have such a unique variety of gifts. Also the review of one star by Hal Fisher is not meant for this place as it is not a bank.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
