We had a wonderful birthday party at Fun and games. They set up a table and we brought everything else. They do not charge for birthday partys but the person who's birthday is gets an extra 1000 tickets at the end it was a lot of fun

Hey, if you're looking to do something with young kiddos and it's pouring rain, come here. I visited SML and it decided to rain allllllll week so we needed to get out of the house. This was a fun arcade for the family, and they had a deal of $20 for an hour of unlimited play. Some games weren't available but they were the "win tickets" games, nonetheless it was worth it. There are many games, so slightly over stimulating but it's an arcade... The plaza the arcade is located also had mini-golf, a marina, a

I usually come here with my son and it's fun and I would give the facility itself a 5 star but today the blonde hair with a ?love your dad? tattoo lady behind the counter was very rude didn't want to explain things to someone who asked for help and also, a kid told her thank you and she just gave him a ?whatever look? and didn't say anything to them, like she did not want to be there definitely did not feel welcomed or family friendly with rude staff, I hope management will look into this review, so I can u

Great place for kids! Games are reasonably priced and there's a great selection. Very kid-friendly and awesome place to go during the week when it's less crowded!

We had a party there today, and it was amazing!! The two ladies working were the best!! I would definitely recommend you for parties or just for some fun with the family. Thank you all!!!

My son's love this place! One of the last times we went my son actually won a Nintendo Switch Lite out of one of the machines. The kids beg to go all the time. The staff are friendly, the games are always in working order. Prizes are well with in limits to reach. Games are different prices but they are well worth what they charge.

Still the same fun place for people of all ages as it was when I was a kid!! Doesn't matter if you want to go as an adult with your friends or with your kids, this place is always so much fun! They have a card system and great new games! They seem to keep the place clean and keep things updated! I will keep coming here for some fun air hockey or skee ball!

We took our grandson Saturday and he had a great experience, they have a lot of new games and a new pay card system. Very disappointed with some of the adults in the arcade that did not wear masks and we're not asked to wear mask. They do have sanitize wipes placed throughout the store for customers to use on the machines.

It was really fun. There are new games, and your "tokens" are.actually loaded on to a card that you can check the balance and the "tickets" are tracked on the card as well. It is really up to date the games are new and up to date, the place is well taken care and maintained. My daughter had a blast and what i loved that most is that it smells AMAZING in there!!! Best arcade around way better than it used to be back when i was a teenager and coming here.

We enjoyed this arcade for over well over 15yrs. Our kids went to play and now our grandkids. We only go a couple of times a year. Recently, we've notice changes with upgrades, new technology in the arcade. We have taken our grandkids twice this year. The last time was not a good experience. The attendant working, which later, found out was the manager, very much had an attitude. We were marched over to a machine, instructed to buy a card. No other options given, specials etc. When the kids ran out of money

Had my nephews Birthday Party here and it was a lot of fun.

I have not been to an arcade since I was in HIGHSCHOOL (which was ages ago btw). I had SO MUCH FUN playing the little shooting games, and the old-fashioned pinball machine. (Still can't believe it was Godzilla). The physics on the racing game was something else though, man I'm terrible at that game! Haha.

Me and my grandparents go here all the time and it's the best part in my opinion to get stuff and when I have multiple stuffed animals from the claw machines that I have won and it's a great place for friends and family to meet up.

I know full well that these arcades are designed to cheat but I go in willingly to have fun. I've been to 100s. I have never encountered a more shamelessly deceptive place. They are literally stealing money from parents but more importantly, they are stealing a little bit of happiness from kids. Disgusting.

I have spent over $500 now in the past few years since starting to vacation here regularly. Sounds ridiculous saying it like that but it has been well worth the money since it's really fun! Great arcade clean staff are friendly games are good ??????

Loved our time here. Had a wide variety of games, workers were really sweet and helpful. Not as expensive as many other arcades.

It's a low budget Dave and Busters. You load your card with tokens and play a variety of games. Some earn tokens and some earn direct prizes. However, stay clear of the claw machines. They are not totally skill based machines that, I assume, will allow you to win only when they have earned enough money for the owners to offset the cost of the potential prize. Spent over $100 on one claw machine that supposedly you can win some decent prizes. Even a 100% perfect claw drop will not allow you to win as i

Fun place. Lots of options and games. But like any place of its nature, you spend 20 dollars per kid, for them to pick out a 50 cent toy. RIP off on so many levels. Even the games cost a dollar for one play. So that 20 dollars will last for 10 mins, if you're lucky

Staff is beyond excellent here, the games are wonderful and not over priced. My son and I really enjoy coming here every time we come here. Always leaving with a smile on his face and irreplaceable memories.

This place was awesome. My kids had a blast and so did my tee ball team. They need a few more chairs for parties, but everything else was great. We will be back.

Our kids had a blast here and so did I! The games were easier than most to win. Game cards weren't that much money.

Pretty nice place. Has a fairly wide selection of machines. As always the claw machines are a gamble but they seem to have some fair ones. All in all I enjoyed my visit.

This arcade was a nice break from boating on the lake. You can boat here. The kids loved playing the games that gave out tickets. You can trade them in for prizes as is the norm at arcades.

It's a Very fun place I'm just a kid I will go there 15 to 20 times each summer and it is a joy to go I really love that each ticket is the equivalent of 5 that's Awsome I am sad to see the old fashioned quarters and tickets go I'm not a huge fan of the card it takes the joy out of it but still fun I would recommend you visit this place

I was very sad to see the arcade had changed so much I had not been there since it was changed I guess more updated but my grandchildren loved getting tickets and no one explained how things worked . It is ruined as my opinion and I won't be back . The games were higher too . It is hard to find places for children sad to see this one go !!

I love this place it's really fun but I miss when you had the ticket machines and it was really cool now they got the cards but it's still fun

Great place for games

My kids favorite arcade. That's mainly because the tickets count as 5 each. They usually rack up the count when we go.

New games and a family atmosphere. When places for kids are closed in Roanoke you can drive out to the lake for fun.

Great place for family fun of all ages. I've been going for over 20 years now and still love it!

Love this place! All the machines work, and they give you WAY more tickets than other places. We'll be back again and again

This is a fun place! The reason why it was I give it 3 stars is because I bought a tube and when I was blowing it up. It started leaking air.

Loads of great modern arcade machines, just wish they still had more classic cabinets.

It was really fun and you can win a lot of tickets because every one ticket is actually 5 tickets. ????

Kids always have a great time and they are better priced than chuck e cheese.

I would give 5 but I'm mad that there are no machines that take quarters, y'all should do a mix of quarter machines and non quarter machines

Always a fun time at the arcade. My daughter loves it.

Fun and family friendly clean games and all worked! Nice staff!

New games great place to have fun with the kids!

Don't do the game with the small black boxes with the big prizes!

Very patient and attentive staff. Games werent broke or stole points.

Kids have a blast. A great place to have at the lake.

I really want to love this place more, but it is extremely overpriced.

Lots to do the kids will love it

Cheap games. ATM only charges $2.75 extra

We love to visit when we're in the area.

No more quarters, all automated now.

Great place and really fun

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
