Absolutely fantastic place for all. Brought my twin boys here for their 13th birthday! It was awesome. Took advantage of the admission bundle of admission plus one food item and a soda for $20! We had an absolute blast. Games are well kept, facility is well cleaned and maintained! Friendly staff! And the food is great!!

The arcade is a one-time entrance fee and the games from there are no extra charge. There are a lot of fun ones to choose from. The place is spacious with a bar. It's located right by some great food spots too (safe walking distance)

Amazing variety of games they keep well maintained, and the staff is so nice too! Amazing deal for arriving on the opening hour for unlimited plays! The community and staff there is friendly and they helped me get a lost item back!

My husband knows I love playing Pinball, so Saturday night for our Date Night he took me to Free Play Arcade Dallas and I had a Blast! I began playing Pinball and before I knew it, 2 hours had passed. They also have a variety of fun old school video games and new video games. This is a fun place for all the Family. The atmosphere was so cool, along with The decor and I loved the 80's music. They have a nice bar that serves soft drinks, beer and cocktails. If you're a gamer, or not, I suggest you give it

The rhythm games here are fantastic and there is a massive variety of games to choose from. This location is a rather large Free Play that has top-notch service. The cleanliness is top-tier. I'd recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fun time and has a passion for gaming of any genre.

This place is fantastic. Only $13 per person; adults pay same prices as kids. The food was surprisingly really tasty. We had mini tacos, a classic pizza, the sasquatch, the big texan, and a quesadilla for the table. Great vibes and decent prices for the quality of food.

I love this place. They have all kinds of games, a variety of food and drinks, and amazing deals.

Tons of fun. Highly recommend the Mime rhythm game thing. First picture. I'd definitely come back even though I live hours away.

Loved the place, great classic arcade games for the price of entry, we stayed there almost 3 hours, worth the price

THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME PLACE EVER!!! I WAS LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE!!! I CAN PLAY MY OLD SCHOOL FAVORITES ALL DAY FOR $12. I HAD THE DRINK NAMED XAVIER ESCALANTE. THE DRINKS ARE AWESOME AS WELL!!! THE DRINKS PACK A PUNCH!!! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWESOME AS WELL!!! I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!!! THANKS TO Y'ALL FOR GREAT FUN, GREAT FOOD, AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ????????????????????????

Interested in arcade games with some food and drinks, good place to give it a try with friends and kids.

This was our first day coming here! I'd say only reason why I couldn't go with a 5 Star is because we went near the area to see where we could get snacks or food? And person saw us most likely we looked lost but never offered to assist and was the only one in front of the area but didn't looked too busy either. It was a little confusing as we saw a menu but no others to ask how to order etc. Anyway the person at entrance was very nice and politely! The prices for a group of 5 excluding toddler was about $44

This place is great to hang out, have a drink or bite to eat, and play some nostalgic arcade games. There is a medium sized selection of arcadegames and pinball machines. Half of them are pretty niche and aren't very entertaining, but the other half will keep you entertained for at least an hour. Very fun. Will come back.

Front desk staff were incredibly rude. Wouldn't honor beer reward cards that I spent a lot of money earning. Even if the rewards system has been updated they should still honor loyal customers.

Always have a good time here. Love the food options and they usually have mead on tap which is fantastic. Favorite game by far is the Killer Queen.

Free Play is a great place to play nostalgic arcade games. For $12, you get unlimited play on a decent selection of games, from Galaga and Pac-Man to Killer Queen and more niche games. Family friendly before 9 pm, 21+ at night until closing. Good place to bring kids and let out their energy, or come with friends for a fun night out. We came for New Years Eve, which included a mini buffet, midnight confetti and noisemakers, a great view of Reunion Tower fireworks, and a late night cereal and waffle bar. Bar

Free Play is a great place to hang out and have fun. There are plenty of video games like Super Mario and many more. The place isn't too crowded and has clean restrooms. When stressed out, burn it out!

Dont have any pictures but this place was so fun. For 2 people it was only $21 and you can just go in and play all the games no cards or coins needed. They had a wide variety of games and an amazing pinball collection. I definitely recommend this for date night or if you have littles. I went on a Saturday and it was not packed at all

Had a good time playing old retro games with the family. There's enough games for people to play without having to wait. They have drinks, food & alcohol. The only real complaint would be the food. Personal pizzas are around $12 & they're smaller than the ones you would get in the freezer section at Walmart. Drinks are around $3. I would suggest to eat before or after to save money. The pizza is ok, but again they're small. You'll easily spend hours playing games & the kids will have a good time & be a safe

If pinball is your jam, this is your place. The machines work well and are well maintained. There is a huge variety and people respect each other. No one hogs machines. Everyone takes turns. The drinks are strong, and while there are limited food choices I have been pleased with the quality. The hummus is especially good. If you dig video games, you won't be disappointed. So many great games from the 80's and 90's. Centipede, pac man, tetris, Tron, Galaga, Dragons lair, you name it. It's here.

Free play Dallas is the BEST spot in town for good cheap drinks, fun games, and awesome people. My wife and I love coming here.

Our kids had a blast, super fun and relatively on the cheap side as you only pay to get in and for food and drinks, the games are free and so is the water on the counter!

Great food great service. Was scared because a lot of arcade spots have questionable food options. We ended up ordering a second pizza before playing the games. Very nostalgic 90s vibes. Will be back!

Good price and fun. They even have a set up to play some games on old systems. I went on DJ night so the music was good too.

$12 for all you can play! Games are a little older, but are a blast to play! Decent amount of Japanese Rhtyhm games if you are into that as well. One of the few places in Dallas with a WORKING Initial D cabinet, even if it's 3rd Gen.

Awesome stop. Great collection of classic games with about 20 pinball machines. Pay to get in and play your day away. This place is it. There is also a bar to celebrate your parties. Parking lot is full but easy to navigate.

Our new favorite arcade! For $12 you can play all the games, unlimited times. Plus they have Dance Dance Revolution. 5 stars.

I love going to an arcade, this location was nice but seems a little limited on the games and had a few that were not working or ?coming soon? i feel it's very important to stay on top the the machines to make sure guest have options and opportunity to play all the games. Probably spent an hr inside before decided to leave.

Very fun super nicer than the one in Richardson very spacious and big and enough games to entertain a big crowd of need be.

Great location in a prime spot. Vintage games galore, great drinks. Friendly staff. Worth a visit from Fort Worth area. Fun drinks and check out the secret menu!

Got hired to take photos here for a corporate company Holiday party. The atmosphere was great. They have all of the old school games that we'll enjoy as adults now with a full bar.

Great place to visit and just to get away from it all.. Enjoyed my visit and played several of the games there.. The games there took me back to a time when life wasn't so hectic and you were able to just enjoy.. There was even a little boy there with his father who tried to help me at one of the games on how to play it.. ?? Will definitely be going back..

The selection of games was great the food wasn't terribly expensive nor was the cost of entry! My only gripe was that the music was prettyyyy loud. But the staff were very nice ??

Unbeatable value for family entertainment. All the games are well maintained, full bar and friendly service. Definitely recommend this spot.

Such a big fan of all the Free Play Arcade locations but this location is especially awesome. Such a great atmosphere and great quality of games. My friends and I had a blast. I definitely recommend the food too. This particular location has such a great aesthetic and the service and drinks are always amazing too. They tend to always throw amazing special events too and I can't wait to see what they have in store for this location. Such a much-needed and welcome addition to the Trinity Groves area.

I'm glad Dallas finally has a location. It's pretty good for $12 admission all day. There weren't very many people when we went. Nice location.

We had a great time retro games and drinks it can't get any better than that. They have a hugh selection of games even console games like super Nintendo, sega and plenty more they have all the classics games we all played as kids and the best part you can play as much as you want. Theres a $13 cover charge you get in but it's well worth it.

They didn't let me use my beer rewards card, also they got rid of the dance game and replaced it with a super lame one. Would recommend going to Round 1 instead

This place is by far the best Free Play location and my favorite!!! They have a wide selection of games. A few of my favorites were the Modern Pong and a great variety of international games. It was very spacious, and the lights were impressive. I also recommend trying out some food while you're there. The flat breads are a must! Overall, it was a great experience and the atmosphere was so much fun! There's something to do for everyone!

The arcade is cool, but we didn't have a very good experience. We had a small service animal who was turned down by the employees upon arrival, even though I read a reply to a review stating that service animals were allowed. Also we paid over $120 just for some drinks and 1 hot dog, not sure if they overcharged my tab or what. Not worth the amount of money I was charged or the employees turning our small service animal away.

Great place classic arcade style, pinball included. Great bar. Look me up @Destination DFW YouTube.

The dj on Friday night is soo good! MikeB u did your thing!!! He play all the old school jams. Loved it ??

Compared to the Cidercade, this place was not worth the money. Admission and drinks are over-priced, too many games were not working, and wait times for the games that were working can be long. Also, I did not noticed any security guard on site.

great price for all the games they have! and they have a nice view too in the back of the dallas skyline. $11 a cider too! would come back again

The greatest arcade ever opens in Dallas to one of the best views of a city line I have ever seen. I've already been more times than I can count and I'm always itching to go back? come play with me :)

Stunning view of the Dallas skyline, and an absolutely immense selection of games. They regularly host game nights and leagues for various games!

Love the layout and game selection of the arcade! Amazing drink selections to enjoy the best drinks with the best games. ?????

It's a cool place to have fun me and my wife were super excited to play all these classic games, but the only thing that I think it was an issue for me is the bartenders so disrespectful they don't even appreciate when you tip them And give you ugly face

They have a LOT of game choices and a large pinball area. Drinks were good too and service was fast and nice even on a Saturday night. I only saw one broken game and when I told a staff member, they had their tech there that night and it was fixed within a few minutes. We had a lot of fun!

Great lineup of pinball machines that are well maintained. Staff also amazing!

Alot of fun for adults and kids alot of old school games

Huge shout out to this place for having free tampons for us ladies! Really saved my day, don't make my mistake & keep twisting I accidentally took out to many tampons bc I didn't see them & thought it needed a quarter first lol over all my husband & I loved it here had so much fun

Went with the family, 4 boys and their dad, had a blast! I think l enjoyed the games more than they did! Had a good mix of old school nostalgic games and some modern ones as well. Making plans to go back next weekend!

Omg! Best place! So much games I love! Drinks are cheap! Love this place! Close to the gorgeous bridge ??

Food was great, drinks were great. Very chill vibes. Will definitely be back!

Great place to spend a couple hours with the family playing old school video games. There are a ton of games and they even serve food and drinks.

5 ?? because for the price, it's absolutely amazing. Typically, $12 per person we only paid $12 for the 2 of us because they had an event and was closing early I will definitely be going back when I'm back in town

My daughter and I had a blast! The game choices are endless, and the atmosphere was definitely a vibe. There was a bar with food, the tacos and the Texan were delicious, might I add. We will definitely be back for more fun. 10/10 highly recommend!! ????

Unlimited play at reasonable prices 21 and up. Bar has great specials, so good it'll make a whiskey guy get a round of mimosas cause its a good deal.

I was surprised to see that this is right around the corner from my Airbnb. Free play arcade is exactly like what it states to pay one fee to get in and play all the games you want. They have a good variety of Japanese games as well as American games and even some new homemade games. They also have Nintendo switch systems. They were having a tournament for super smash Brothers at the time that I visited. In the back corner of the location. They have a small room with older generation systems. All Nintendo r

The name ?free? play arcade is a little bit misleading, because I had to pay a few shekels to get in. Still gave it five stars because I enjoy deviousness and this is the sort of prank I would play on people if I was a businessman or business boy. Also, ?video games? is a misleading term because they're not videos at all. You play them and they react to your inputs. so if you thought that this was a place to watch the new dungeons and dragons movie, a literal game video, then you will be horribly dissatisfi

Genuinely welcoming hosts, the bartenders are fun and real people, and I can't get enough of the games! I went Sunday and had to come back Monday! Very much recommend especially for adults

Nice layout, great games and friendly service all around. Food is pretty good and there's plenty of options. Only critique is some of the beers are quite overpriced, but the staff and overall experience make up for it. Happy to have this spot in Trinity Groves!

Great retro arcade with a bar and many obscure games.

Pros: themed beers for needs, including a Sour called Baja Blast?!?! Awesome. All the old arcade games you can play? Amazing. Cons are noisy and rambunctious with the kids on the weekend, and these arcade controls are unresponsive and stick from all the wear and tear. Kids love it though. Worth the low entry fee for some fun.

It was my first time coming to this Freeplay. I must say. This is a lot bigger and better than other Freeplay. The traffic I did not love that. They need to get some traffic police to help thing run smoothly. Otherwise, you have a hard time leaving.

Awesome place to take the kiddos. 12 bucks for unlimited play!

I went on Sunday 4/20 and this is great place for games and pinball. I go for the pinball and they have a great selection like every Free Play Arcade does. I rate the games and atmosphere a 5 but just like every Free Play Arcade, but I suggest eat before you get there unless you are eating pizza. I know they brag about DFW best sandwiches per the Dallas Morning News, but I have never had a sandwich at any location that I would order again so I am just either giving up on food there or ordering their pizz

It's great for gamers who love the old school games like pac man , pinball machines , super Mario bro's. Lots of games , everyone is super friendly .

The experience was amazing! The staff was so kind and cooperative!

First time, and I like it. I have a lot of fun playing arcades, and finally, I bit up my nemesis "Destructor" from ninja turtles ?? ?? ?? ?? thank you for bringing these amazing games! Old school people! ?? try the peperoni and marshmallow pizza! ??, it is amazing ?? ?? ??.

I really enjoyed myself here and I will be coming back. The drinks were great and they have all the games you can think of. Perfect for date night.

Great experience! Ample parking, great selection of games, they all worked!!! Great bar selection. If you like arcade games and fun you're gonna have a good time

I went to the other location in Richardson, but this location had more games and less pinball which I have no problem with. The staff was very kind and receptive and I appreciate the experience. They had quite a few games I love and a few I've never seen or played before. I felt like a kid all over again. Thank you for the experience and I'll be back.

Easy to find on Google. Parking was $10 right across the street if self parking was full (which it was).$12 unlimited gane play. Enjoyed playing my childhood games.

This place was awesome. We ordered a turkey club sandwich which was fast hot and delicious. The staff was very professional. Prices very reasonable. My husband and I really enjoyed our date night. Thank you Free Play Arcade.

If you love old school games, and everything nostalgic this is the place for you! The drinks were amazing, and affordable. This definitely where you can't let your inner child out.

The staff was friendly, the game selection was my favorite of 5 places I've been to, and they have many beers to choose from at a good price. The only bad thing was the pizza. They need a better microwave pizza.

Honestly, don't go to this one. Go to Richardson or Arlington! This was our first time at the Trinity Groves location and it was so MID. Such unfriendly, jaded, uncaring staff...no one seemed to care about anything at this one! The bathrooms were trashed, drinks and cans litereed everywhere, busted machines (especially the 2 player ones). We've been going to Freeplay for years (Richardson our main base) and have always felt at home with the folks working and how things were managed. DRASTIC difference at t

Great parking situation ! Brought my seven year old and he loved the games. Lots of other good food locations right next door. Fun spot z worth 12 bucks !

Great location with a large selection of old and new games.

This is my second visit to a free play location and it didn't disappoint. I'm so glad I have one so close to home now. This arcade is HUGE! So many vintage games, Japanese games, some rare games and pinball machines! I arrived at 11am on a Saturday and pretty much had the entire pinball section to myself for about two hours. There may have been 25 people total in the arcade during that time. I was surprised since it was a Saturday. I also got in for half price since I arrived during the first hour. Not sur

Free play is awesome! My fianc?e and I have been looking for a barcade ever since moving and Free Play is the best one we have found so far! The drinks were great, the staff is friendly, and there is a really good selection of games. We found everything from pinball and skeeball to NES consoles, classic box arcade games and even newer options! I wish they had a traditional DDR machine, but I will 100% be back within a week for sure!

It's a nice place. Me and my peoples went for New Years, and the little buffet they had was pretty good. Different types of pizza and finger sandwiches. They had water to drink. The games are all old school. Saga Genesis, Nintendo, and Atari games. Oh, while counting down, they gave all champagne and poppers. Nice touch. At midnight, they had breakfast, which was nice. Waffles and cereal. If you want to play old school games this would be the place to go.

Not a bad place, music was live, and I enjoyed the concept for my first time arcade adventure. My hotdog was good, the seasoning on the chips were ok, but the fruit platter I seen was beautifully presented. However, I wish more for the food selection.

Quite a few machines were not operating properly (or at all).

I've visited Richardson. Love it. I'd agree that this location is nice too. Didn't get any food tho. Yes 2$ beer!!! The cocktails are heavily measured. I don't recommend even a liit. I don't play most of the games they have, but they did have most of ALL my favorites.

Exciting, worth the money, great escape, clean, beautiful views, and family fun atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
