It's pretty expensive for what it is. They give you wristbands so you can play all day but after 20 minutes you've pretty much experienced all they have to offer. Food and drink prices are pretty out there considering what you get in return. You'd also think a place this nice would spring for decent air conditioning. That being said, they do have some cool games but after you've been there once it's crazy to think you'd bother going again.
The kids had a great time! Very nostalgic for us adults. We stayed for 3 hours? it was $13 for complete free play. There were lots of options- it was busy but there were still lots of options for the kids to play through. A fun spot for families.
Perfect weekday birthday spot for our son's 10th birthday! We ordered the Arcade Sampler which fed our whole party of 15. The service staff were very friendly and the party room was perfect! The whole evening exceeded expectations!
This place is so cool! Awesome selection of retro games I haven't even thought about in years. My mom loved it cause she got to play her favorite, Galaga. The staff were so nice and helpful. The food was good too! We got a pizza and the fruit and cheese plate. AND they played great music! I can't wait to go back!
We went in the morning on a weekday and had a blast at Free Play! The cleanliness of the place and overall quality of the games was impressive. So fun to have unlimited access to the games for one fee. Highly recommend!
Wish it were a little easier to get to, but the construction isn't their fault. My wife and I had a blast!
Lots of fun! They have a ton of selection of arcade games and even guitar hero ???? I also loved the bar drinks they're delicious!
Was a perfect activity for my family with teens and tweens, and the parents had fun too! It's a great price for what you get, unlimited gaming and tons of options. They had a good selection of adult drinks to choose from, we only drank beer but there is a full bar. The food was great too and very filling. We will be going back regularly for sure!
This place was awesome. Drinks and food choices really good. Food could be better on selection but still great job. The game choice was good, need more shooting games. I think spacing is important too, hard to play those 4 people games. Fun place. 100% loved it.
My home away from home... quite literally! Catch me here all the time playing Super Turbo (immediately to your right when you first walk in the door!) Amazing food on top of that... try the Sasquatch! You will not regret it. That BREAD!
My kids and mom had fun. We'll definitely be back. They loved the basketball more ??
Place is a rip off. Payed $46 just for entry fee and two drinks. Decided to try the hummus platter and a beer and it was over $20. Hummus plate sucked. They give a 2 oz. Ramekin of hummus for a whole platter of veggies. The pita chips were all nothing but crumbs. Now we know to not to return.
Food and drinks were excellent! Had tons of fun. Will definitely be back!
Ordered a hot dog with a brioche bun and was blown away. Beats any hotdog in town. My wife and I came the night before on a date and tried a couple drinks. They were excellent. Free Play Abilene is shaping up to be a must visit for food fun and drinks. Would highly recommend trying it out.
I look at the negative reviews and I'm just like "that's wild" Why? Because it's a gaming venue not a 5 star restaurant lol People and their demands of 5 star foods at an arcade gaming venue is completely WILD If you're looking a fun place to relive a moment in time from 20 years ago or maybe some competitive gaming challenges this place is it! The food is good considering it's an arcade and not some fancy restaurant You want fancy food where you dress up and try to impress people? This ain't it You w
Just go already! Its awesome. Great selection of delicious food and a huge array of old to new arcade games. Plus a lounge area with retro consoles to play on.
This place is awesome! They've got tons of games including classic and new arcade games, skee ball, and retro pinball machines. They have a large selection of mixed drinks, beer, and wine as well as non-alcoholic choices. The food was great as well. Not to mention it is 21+ after 9PM on Friday and Saturday and they are open late which makes it the perfect date spot.
Went in with a group, they would not let us in because we did not have a hard copy of license (had a picture of it! wife is pregnant wasn't going to drink anyway) but then wouldn't even refund the group that was with us money.. looked like fun but definitely won't be going back.
This place was awesome! Went on a preview night before they went to regular operating hours, and had a blast!! Great selection of games and friendly staff! We ended up ordering one of the pizzas for $13. It was great and the flavor was amazing but the size I felt should've been bigger since it was about the size of a personal pan. Will definitely be going again!
Great place for adults and kids. Serves drinks for over 21 and the staff is super friendly great place will be returning
So awesome! We went on a Sunday afternoon around 3:00pm. Low crowds and super good vibes. Food and drinks were awesome. Tons of amazing games to try. We loved Killer Queens!! Everyone is so nice. The host, Blue, and the bartender whose name I didn't catch, were both super kind and helpful!
Went for Mothers Day and had a blast! Food was good and so were the games.
This is a great place to check out if you're in Abilene. It's easy to blow a few hours here since they have a wide selection of arcade games and pin ball machines.
So much fun. Excellent value.
Took my Grandson, had a pretty good time but menu dosent fit atmosphere it should be more like Club sandwich, Cheese Stix, fries, nachos ect!
Missing a few classics that would have been fun to see, but overall great selection with lots of options. Affordable, relatively clean, not too crowded, open late, lots of fun
The managers Sarah and Derek really take care of the place and it's such a nice addition to the area. A great place to play!
Great place? From nostalgic games that I played as a kid to newer games, they have it. Fun place for the family or a night out with friends.
Had the best time! Good drinks and pizza. Well maintained Games. Definjtely going back!
Super fun, and I love that after 9pm it's adults only. Really good food too, I wasn't expecting from an arcade! Great place!
I love this place and will definitely go back as often as I can and bring friends! Great place.
Love this place so much way better then any other big arcades. You get more banf for your buck!!!
The place was impressive to my teens that I brought but I don't play games or drink and I was very disappointed I had to pay to sit and watch I tried to learn from my daughter but Im Not interested in playing for hours and the entrance fee seemed unfair to me as grandma just supervising my teens . I also did not feel comfortable leaving my children there unsupervised while adults consumed liquir at bar as alot of adults were there without children . Could be an opportunity for inappropriate situations. M
Many arcade games and a fun loving atmosphere. This place has something for all those looking to check out a neat concept. I look forward to coming back and defending a top score while checking out some of their food and drink options.
Fun place with a better mix of new & old games compared to other similar venues.
I recently visited this place with a couple of my friends, and I have to say that this is one of the coolest new arcades in the city. We arrived about an hour and a half before closing, so we didn't have time to try the food. However, we enjoyed playing some of the best retro arcade games, including "Guerilla," the original "Space Invaders," and "Donkey Kong." They even have a room dedicated to original SEGA, Nintendo consoles, and the very first PlayStation! I'm glad to see that we have a lot of cool arcad
The games are free and the kids are out by 9pm. This place is awesome.
I ordered a margarita. Not good. The pizza was okay. Games were fine.
This place is soooo awesome!! The bartenders and drinks were fantastic, and there was sooo many games to pick from. Definitely going there again. So grateful we got something like this in Abilene
Immaculate vibes. The food and drinks were amazing
If you love old school stand up arcade games, this is the place.??????????????
This place had so much potential until the awful bartender cut me off when I was trying to buy drinks for about 10 people.
It's a blast! Great selection of games, drinks and food!
Very cool place to play games and bring the kids I love it here
Had a good time. Lots to choose from. Pricing is very fair. We will be back.
Games were great played some nostalgic classics and food was good
It was a Lotta fun good food and a great bartender it's a great weekend hangout spot
Great selection of games. I could play pinball all day. And the food was surprisingly great.
For 12 a person spend all day !! Awesome ?? ??
This is a gem in Abilene!!! We went with a group of friends and had a blast!!!! Bring your family or just go as a date night, you won't be disappointed!!!
Awesome! Drinks were great, bar prices were fair and the amount of game selections would blow your mind
A lot of fun and a good variety of games

Fan of these guys from DFW, so glad to see them here in Abilene! Will be back soon!!
Literally so fun and a wonderful staff :)
Best ever must have don't wait.
Very different, but great
Cut me off quick on my attempt to buy a third drink.
Please Please Please bring back Centipede!!! We love that game!!
Food is overpriced and pizzas are very very very small , games are amazing thou , I'd recommend eating elsewhere before coming here , but I love the atmosphere
Great place! I was expecting a dingy, Uncle Festus type place. Great selection of games. Clean. Great bar and food list.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
