A really cool store with two pinball machines. I collect Lorcana and the staff went out of their way not only to help me find a few single cards I was missing but invited me to game nights. This was really meaningful and has me excited to come back and visit! You absolutely should check this store out!
I just went here today! Honestly I felt like a friend as soon as I went in. Ian was so helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot wait to be back!??
Freakopolis Geekery is an absolute gem for anyone who loves all things geeky! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The store has an impressive selection of comics, games, collectibles, and more. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or a newbie, there's something here for everyone. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help with recommendations or answer any questions. They clearly have a passion for what they do, and i
Clean, bright store with a awesome staff. Cool and different items that you may not find anywhere else. Worth the drive to Whitehall.
Great little comic/gaming store. The costumer service was awesome. Thanks for the extra goodies ??
Well organized comic book selection! Gentleman working the counter was friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this place to a comic book, MTG, or D&D lover !
Love this place. Very helpful staff. A variety of "geek" stuff. They run specials, which we missed lol. It's a great store
Great Staff and Great stuff! Great for those with a geeky side who loves comics and board games and RPGs. This place will always have my business! The staff is very knowledgeable about the stuff they sell. I have found myself on a few occasions running in to pick up a comic and spend over an hour chatting with the guys working. This store is just what the area needed.
Great guys. The store carries a little bit of everything game and comic related...plus some official sasquatch calling festival merch.
This is such a great family run store. Not only can you find great items but they have organized games for groups, for kids and adults. My oldest son plays Jr. Dungeon and Dragon's and my youngest plays pokemon. So if your looking for a great comic, collectors item, or whatever your heart desires come check them out!
I love places like this! Honestly, the stock was light and the selection tended towards familiar favorites, not BGG top 100, but you know what...? That's fine. The clerk was SUPER-enthusiastic. They hosted lots of in-store gaming. If Carcassonne sells well enough to keep the lights on, then by golly, sell the $#!t out that Carcassonne!
Nothing but great family fun down at freakopolis geekery. Always a good time whether you're looking for Comics games or just some good old-fashioned arcading.
This is THE place in the area for all things comics, tabletop, and minis. They have a nice variety of what's popular, as well as some fun, more obscure titles. If you've been stressing about finding Pok?mon cards, they always have the latest expansions and pre-releases in stock, and so much more. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. It's always a treat to stop in and see what they have going on in the shop. So, if you're a fan of comics, DnD, or anything 'geeky', don't hesitate to check
Dropped by on a college visit. Very cute store in a cool town. Owner is very friendly and enthusiastic and gave us some great deals on some magic singles?they took a break from an active EDH game to do so which was awesome. It seems like they have recently begun trying to support a growing magic the gathering community and thus have singles from primarily recent sets?they definitely still have many worthwhile singles and I picked up 20 or so cards for my magic cube. I would strongly suggest coming out and g
Awesome store! Great place, great people. Edit one year later: this store is the best gaming stop in the area. Family owned and operated, they provide a wonderful gathering place for the geek community.
A great game store. They had a little bit of everything. Ian was extremely helpful in pointing out items. Not only do they carry Dungeons and dragons, but also Savage Worlds. Will definitely head there again!?
It was really neat in the store. Owner was hosting a magic the gathering event and was amazing. He was very polite nice establishment!
Freakopolis is definitely a fun place to shop. Not only do they have a large selection of comic books but they have tons of great products to please any geeks or nerds you may know. They also host table-top game tournaments for enthusiasts as well as for people who would like to try before they buy. On Saturday nights they produce a facebook live trivia contest to win prizes from the shop. All in all, it's a super fun place to visit.
I'm always happy to see brick and mortar game shops, even better when they're run by incredibly friendly and helpful people who care. A well curated selection of products. Definitely worth your stopping in.
I'm glad to see a new small business in whitehall, NY! Awesome comic place and they have a pinball machine in front. I looked around and saw that they have a full calendar of events. I inquired about MTG (not on the board), but they said not many people play around the area (sad). However, just about every other game was up. If you are in the area, stop on in, play a few pinball games, check them out. I'm sure you will not be disappointed! Two things up!
Clean, uncluttered, organized. The staff is friendly and professional. I'll definitely check out their open D&D night soon. Limited inventory on site, but they have access to order materials.
Amazing, knowledgeable staff and positively incredible customer service. They have any geeky good you could want (but let's be honest, it's a need) AND can answer any question have. I cannot recommend visiting and/or ordering through their website enough. Always a great experience!
Very nice and well informed clerk, I wish they had a new comics shelf but an awesome selection of graphic novels and board games. The pin ball machines were a super cool surprise
Locally owned comic book, board game, and pinball shop. They host weekly events through Facebook and on site. You can visit and demo new board games, get knowledgeable opinions on the comicverse, strategies, or special order certain fanfare. Staff is welcoming and you can see their enthusiam for all things geek!
This is more than a comic shop.....yeah sure on the outside it looks and acts like a comic shop but in reality it's a multidemsional inteplanatary Haven of the gods....the love and warmth they show their community and their fellow man is a prime example to anyone...myself included..... I have been a customer there now for over a year (regularly) and they have time and time and time again shown is an amazing community of folks through games, happiness and laughter. Yes they sell comics and games, but they a
A little gem of a hobby store, for those who like games, comics, D&D, some collectibles, books & other neat nick nacks. Definitely go in and check it out, the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful but not pushy.
Love this store! Great people and great community they foster there.
As I walk into the freakolpolisgeekery, I'm hit with the old school vibe the arcade put a penny and play all day vibe,. Your greeted with 2 smiles sometimes 3 when papa" thor" is there. Warm welcome people as warm as you can get in this dismal world we inhabit in but I digress. Comics, collectibles, cards, boards games, action figures, posters I mean what else do u need. This family and the geekery feels like there your family and home its that welcoming what more can u ask for as long as great deals but whe
They put the Friendly in FLGS (Friendly Local Game Store). Very welcoming and helpful. They are such a positive force in a small community.
Really friendly staff. Great place to get gaming supplies. Nice selection of comicbook back issues. Great astmosphere with frequent gaming going on. Good place to hang out.
They now have T-shirts featuring their flying saucer logo so you can proclaim your geekiness far and wide! Made my teen?s day to go in here.

I went on the opening day and it was a pleasant surprise. The staff was nice and everything was well organized. The gifts were very good quality and I enjoyed the shop very much.
Awesome place run by awesome people. Cool new stuff I don't see anywhere else, every week. One of the coolest stores I've ever visited.
Great inventory of board games, role-playing game supplies, and RPGs. They're even starting Friday Night Magic which is a great addition
Great guys. Place gives geekdom a boutique feel. Awesome place! Would definitely go again.
Cool little local comic book shop. Also has tabletop game stuff and other geeky memorabilia. Lives up to its name!
Not a massive selection of things to choose from but the staff are wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable, which is far more important than having a multitude of products and an impersonal business.
Amazing family owned comic, gaming, and assorted geeky accouterments. Great holiday specials going on.
It's a fun place to go. if your a fan of comics, collectibles or boardgames and fun events, Freakopolis geekery is the place for you

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
