Forrest's Family Fun Center

Forrest's Family Fun Center

Reviews Summary

Forrest's roller rink receives mixed reviews, with many praising its clean, spacious rink, friendly staff, and fun atmosphere, especially for families and kids. Positive highlights include great music, smooth flooring, and good service. However, some criticize the owner's behavior, strict rules, high prices, and poor food quality. Complaints also mention rude staff, safety concerns, and inconvenient policies like charging spectators. While most enjoy their visits, a few had notably negative experiences, particularly with customer service and management. Overall, it’s a popular spot for skating enthusiasts but has room for improvement in hospitality and amenities.

I haven't been roller.skating in over 20 years. I took my niece here last Saturday this was her first time in rink environment. It was great fun!! Music was cool, vibes were cool. I will be adding this into my regular routine

Never knew this great place was right in my hometown of Taunton and I am so happy we found it!!! I had two of my grandchildren for the day on school vacation and we were looking for something fun to do when I decided to look for a place to go roller skating that's when we discovered Forrest?s Family Fun Center!! This place was so much fun and everyone who worked there was very friendly and very helpful, they have a beautiful big wooden floor for rolling skating great music playing they even have a little ar

The owner of this rink and the staff who work there seem invested in making sure the music and general vibe are family friendly. Numerous safety announcements are made over the course of a skating session, and skating is stopped temporarily if something needs to be cleaned up / there is a big safety hazard. They even give individual age groups a chance to skate on their own during general skate sessions. These are some of the excellent qualities of this rink. However, some really strange people were there

Fun place to take kids that want something different to do on weekend nights, open until 1030 and fair prices for skating.. also has arcade. Open all summer long!

Went to a bday party.. my 5yo doesn't know how to rollerskate.. they had nothing to help her learn and not even a training skate so overall it was not a great experience it was quite hard for me.to keep her up with or without my own rollerskates on... if your child has no skate experience or even very little I would avoid this place

Definitely going back. Had a blast with the kids. Food is a 4 out of 10. Games are kind of expensive and the selection is very limited. Overall I'd give this place a solid 7 of ten. Date night with the Mrs. Is going to be a great night when we hit this place alone.

We absolutely loved our first visit to Forrest's: very welcoming feel, beautiful smooth large wooden floor, plenty of seating, great mixture of music & great sound system, huge parking lot, clean bathrooms & working water fountain. Thank you Forrest for a wonderful evening! Keep up the great work! ??????

A lot of fun, clean, good music. He has different and good quality rollers. I will be coming many times and getting my grandson a pair of skate. Love this place. Floor is beautiful.

Great skating rink in Taunton Ma. Met the owner Forrest, he was so nice and the staff was extremely friendly. The floor is like butter (which mean ALOT to jam and speed skaters) and the music was great. If you're ever in the area check it out!!!

Zero reception inside the building, and on top of that, No WIFI! Absolutely impossible to make phone calls or even use your phone to make payments. A $25 WIFI router would have solved the problem.

Great place to have a great time. Well run great staff

Nice place for roller skating & has little arcade area too with pool tables & little area to purchase food, price is reasonable along with friendly atmosphere, dose get busy on weekends nights but good spot to bring the kids and watch them fall everywhere ??

We had the best birthday party there! They were so attentive and I didn't have to do anything. I brought my own cake they provided drinks and pizza! Definitely recommend it

Very fun! I wish the music was a little more diverse but I enjoy coming here on Friday nights. Everyone is so nice and it's more of an old school atmosphere which I personally prefer. I plan on coming here frequently! Price of food and entry is very reasonable. I love the fact that there is a skate shop on site! That's a unique feature of this location.

I went to a birthday party. They did a good job, the kids had a lot of fun . They need a changing table in the bathroom

I used to go here when I was a kid in the 90s. I rediscovered my love of skating, and have been coming for a little over a month now. The sessions are super fun (I do avoid Friday nights. Too many distracted teenagers for me to really enjoy skating.) with great music to skate to. Forrest?s shop is nice, and he's very knowledgeable. He even let me try out some skates before I bought them. I've taken a few lessons and have really learned a lot. If you're an adult looking to get back into skating, I can't say

Great time! Took my son to rollerblade for the first time, he loved it! Definitely will be returning! Affordable clean fun

Beautiful roller rink, super clean, friendly staff. Great Birthday Parties. All in all, the best place to roller skate around!

Family and I had a great time! Brought me back to when I was kid and would go to the skating rink with all my friends! Played great music, clean, friendly, and the arcade games are great for the family. We will return.

Seems like alot of rules for a skate at your own risk place especially no hats ?? this a high end night club

Great family fun!! The music is hit songs from the 70's-to modern hits. Great atmosphere. Took my niece for her first time roller skating and we were back the very next day!! Prices are fair. They do have an arcade setup and party reserved area as well. All in all I highly recommend Forrest fun to all ages. Flashbacks are free, when u look around and its 1984 again..yeah that vibe..

We were invited to a private event that took place at the Family Fun Center . We had a great time . The children really took advantage of the rink . The service was awesome . We had a great family time . The little girl helping out at the skate station was very helpful . The party theme was glow in the dark and it was really cool

My daughter, grandson and I had a blast. My grandsons first time at 14 yrs. old. More kids and older folks should get out there and enjoy some good ole fashioned fun! They are going again, bringing friends..

Fun place. Great employees. Prices are a bit high, but the kids always have a blast. They play roller skating games. Give out prizes and have special family nights.

I had so much fun rollerskating here! I can't believe I hadn't been before. Great location, affordable skate rentals, very clean, etc. I also loved the music, it was a good variety for all ages. People seem to be respectful of the rules and others' space. The referee(?) was great and kept people in line and enforced the rules while still keeping the atmosphere fun. There is also a small arcade area which I didn't use, but may in the future, looked very fun.

Floors nice. I bring my own gear, listen to my own music, having this rink is awesome, being that rollerskating rinks are just about extinct nowadays. Take advantage while we still can people.

Been here twice so far, the kids love it and want to come more. I was a little turned away at how often we got spoken to this time. We weren't close enough to the edge (as beginners teaching kids), one of the kids stopped for too long after a fall, only one parent per kid. Staff on the floor is not clearly marked as staff so it was hard to tell who was staff and who wasn't. Hoping the next time we go it's a bit more relaxed like the first time. Food staff were friendly and quick. They are decently priced. O

Time travel is possible at this roller skating rink. I used to skate here weekly in my childhood, and never realized it re-opened under new ownership. I really wish I had known this sooner. People are having fun skating, talking to each other, enjoying the music, all without the need of cell phones. There's something special about that. Especially awesome is how organized the night was. At one point, children under a certain age are given the entire floor for some time. After this, the adolescent and adult

Awesome rink! The owner cares about the rink and his customers, he took the time on a busy night to help replace and clean my bearings on my skates, he explained to me how to keep them clean and last longer! The schedule is great too more availability!

This is a extensively reviewed site. So I doubt my review will have much to add. However, we went over the New Year?s weekend holiday. It was a rainy New Year?s Eve, we live on Cape Cod with not many options. We were happy to rediscover the skating center as we had not been in many years. We had an absolute blast. My wife and three daughters enjoyed it. It was probably the most fun thing we did that weekend. It was busy, but not overwhelmingly crowded. I think it is fairly priced. We did not partake in the

The rink itself is really nice, it's large with plenty of room to skate even on a busy day. The reason I am only giving two stars is because of my experience with the owner. I came to buy a pair of skates and from the second I walked in he automatically assumed I knew nothing about skates? I've been skating for 10+ years. He explained in depth how to put a skate on and he insisted that I don't take the stopper off. I have been skating without the stopper for years. He also assumed I didn't know how to take

Inexpensive and fun place. We bring a developmentally disabled client here every week and they're always very nice to her. The young girl that works there was really really friendly and had a very positive attitude (even when my coworker was being a little rude to her). She was working alone for a while was very efficient at doing several different things/tending to different people. Owner or manager was also very friendly and greeted us with a warm and friendly demeanor even though he was running around vi

My daughter was begging to go here. I hadn't skated in 35 years. My wife and I had as much fun as my daughter. It was crowded on a Saturday night. Plenty of room for everyone. All walks of life there, everyone was getting along having a great time. Nice to have food available there too.

The Kids skate class is an amazing value for the price. The instructors work miracles teaching new and inexperienced skaters the basics of balancing and moving on their skates. And the food is also delicious. We got the large pizza and pitcher of soda combo. I definitely highly recommend this place.

My kids love it here. Great snack bar, skate rentals, attentive staff & great music.

The kids and I had a great time here they were pretty nice too. Enjoy!

Wonderful fun. Clean, friendly staff, great floor and sound system.

My little boy is 8 years old and is autistic/Aspergers .he Is an only child and he is already struggling to fit in and be accepted everywhere he goes, being yelled at for learning to roller skate was not what we had in mind when going here.this place shouldn't call itself a fun center because it was anything but fun .Mean sob running the place shouldn't be allow near children and it's disgusting the way we were treated.I don't recommend taking children here especially if they are disabled and need support t

The kids love this place, and Forest couldn't be a nicer guy! The updates he has done to the parking areas and exterior look great! Gotta love a local who cares about his business! The wednesday lesson rental and rink time is an awesome deal as well!

This place is a hell hole. There is so many bad things I can say, first of all the owner (forest) is not good with children. Secondly, forest(male)was looking in the girls bathroom that does not have a door while their was girls using it.next,There are kids who are beginner Roller skaters who might need a wall to hold on to but he has a rule of no stoping at the wall. The real rank is also super Dangerous, first of all their is a 2 inch gap in between the floor and the rank which is dangerous for Roller blad

Will not be coming back. Owner took a dollar out of my son?s hand claiming it was his. A dollar!

Great place for a family gathering! Forrest does a wonderful job and keeps the music going along with his skate shop too! Food and games is just another plus to add to the experience! The people are great and friendly and you can find old time speed skaters cruising around to talk about the old days! Can't wait for Sunday to head over to Forrest Family

I love this place! Great service and very fun for people of all ages. They have an arcade, prizes, skate shop, rentals, and very good food. 500% recommend this place. The owner is very nice as well as all of the workers. I go here with family and friends every Friday. ??

Forrest's is a great place to kick back and let loose. Adult night on Sundays are the best!

Forrest is awesome. Excellent safe environment and these floors is amazing. The staff is great and the music is fantastic. Felt a home away from home. If you are ever in the New England Mass area, this is definitely the best place to skate. 5 stars from me and the accommodation of my family is definitely the best experience ever.

My boyfriend and I have only been a few times but we love it. The staff is amazing and it's a pretty big floor. We both needed help buying a pair of blades. One staff member was really helpful and we both bought a pair of comfortable blades and skated for 2 hours. You get to test run them before you buy to make sure they fit. Very good experience.

Haven't been in many years. Took my kids for one of there birthdays. They had a great time. Prices were great for admission and rentals of roller skates or roller blades. The new owners have restored this place better than I can ever remember it. I know the kids can wait to go again and honestly I cant either. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to the food there. I'm not saying it is terrible but the help there was polite but the preparation of the food wasn't the best. I had to ask for my fr

My best friend since the 3rd grade took me on a "field trip" today. She even blind folded me ALL the way in to the floor, and then I took it off. Omg I had the BEST time of my whole adult life! I haven't roller skating in almost 40 years. It was a blast!! The music they play is from the 80's to now with no swearing at all. Tons of fun

There's so much bad things I can say about this rink. But let's start with only a few?. 1) guy in referee outfit yelled at a child that fell really hard and said ?that's what you get for standing on a wall?. 2) Announcement was made to warn people not to skate recklessly, and adults were still being super reckless. 3) Forest the owner (Male) was standing in front of the Women?s bathroom and looking inside of it (not to mention the bathroom doesn't even have a door on it) NOT A SAFE ENVIRONMENT

I've gone a couple times. Never going back. United Skates of America is 10x better with better food and less of a wish washy policy. What you'll find at Forrests Family Fun Center: Overpriced low brand skates that don't even come secure to the brace and the wheels are wobbly with clicking bearings but he'll tell you it's your fault no refunds. The rules change according to the way the owner feels at the time so you'd better hope he's in a good mood.... The 'Food': I've had gas station pizza and burgers that

The actual rink itself is really fun and a great place to go with family and friends. What really sours this place is the owner Forrest himself. He is very rude and loud. Everytime I have went whether it has been for a birthday party, or going with friends and family he has screamed at me. I don't know if he has a hearing problem or being with the loud music all day has affected him. Other than that he is very rude and will say comments back to you if you complain about anything. If their was a different ow

Had to remove a star now that im a "regular". The food quality is on the lower end of snack bar foods..(sucks for the parents sitting through dinnertime lessons.)and they won't disclose the "guest" wifi password to their guests. Not really sure why they keep it under lock and key. Very inconvenient for a parent who has to sit here for 2 hours every week during children's skate lessons.

If it wasn't for Pokemon GO having recently adding this location as a gym, a whole bunch of us local players apparently never would have even known this place existed. I checked it out and thought it could be a great local place for my son's birthday party in a few months, proving the power of this game to bring in new customers to local businesses... That is, until someone came out to rudely throw us all out for being parked there for 5 minutes while doing a raid at the gym. The place as plenty of parking

Wonderful place if you want to skate! Staff is awesome and interactive. Fun environment. They offer public skating, lessons, or host birthday parties. We love it here.

It's pretty chill... my kiddo enjoys it. Never had the chance to teach her let alone bring her to a rink since on one the bases the skating rink was being remodeled the entire time and our next duty station they had none and our closest one was nearly 3.5 hours away making it difficult for us...Now...we recently moved here some months ago and I finally was able to bring her and she enjoyed it very much.

To be honest with you i really have never skated here that i remember. This place has been here for years. I have always dropped off my sister and friends when i was younger and now i am dropping my kids off with their friends. My kids seem to like it but the the biggest reason i give this place only 3 stars is because even if you go there to watch your kids you still need to pay. And you need to be with an adult just to get in. My wife was pregnant and she went to bring her daughter here and they still m

It's a great rink and the music is pretty good but the owner is pretty rude. It seems like he just goes ahead and yells at everyone no matter what they are doing or how old they are, and I watched him push one of the teenagers skating around. They also kick everybody off and for about ten minutes you can only get on and skate if you can do the special skate which is something like skating in threes while holding hands. I would go back but wouldn't necessarily recommend this place.

I've been going to this skate rink for over 30 yrs. Since it was bought out and became Forrests, they have done HUGE improvements!! The entire inside has been done over with new snack bar, seating, carpeting, games etc. It's a great, family fun place to go. I would give it 5 stars if their skating prices were not as high as they are. Between admission and one skate rental, it cost me over $20 to enter for myself and two children (who had their own skates otherwise would have been over $30) add in the games

The wife and I wanted to get back in to skating. Although the rink is closed they opened up and allowed us to try on and get a feel for some new skates. If you are in the MA RI area send an email and set up a time. They were fast and beyond super friendly. Thank you Tiffany for being so nice and patient as we looked at skates, you made the whole process enjoyable.

The people that work there are amazing they're all such hard workers and they're very kind would highly recommend for everyone???????

Forrest is the owner. You can tell he cares a lot about his business. He's there all the time and puts his heart and soul into it. I drive up from Rhode Island because it's one of the nicest rinks around. Clean and very well maintained.

The family and I went for a Birthday party. It was a great time reminiscing about my younger days skating at Hot wheels in New Bedford and Carousel in Fairhaven. All had fun and we will be returning whereas my boys are becoming big fans of skating themselves!!

Rude staff, high prices, bad music, very strict rules. The staff is passive aggressive and they tried changing the prices of their food blatantly by adding "tax" when one of the people in my group ordered fries for 2 dollars and another one of my companions ordered the same and they tried charging him 4 dollars. Also I was sitting on the bench trying to use my phone when one of the staff members came up to me RUDELY and said "I would prefer not to be recorded if that's what your doing". I won't deny that I

Forrest is a great place to skate. Parties for kids or adults...this a great place to make new memories and bring back the old ones. Fall in love with skating again at Forrests!

We recently went to a birthday party here. It was our first time at this particular rink. The rink was clean, the skating area floor was in good condition. Skates were available in the sizes we needed. The arcade area has an adequate amount of games. The arcade games give an ample amount of tickets. We used about $15 for the games and were able to get 3 prizes, which was perfect for the little one

My Daughter is hooked ...lots of bruises from learning but she had a blast . I brought me back to 15 years old when we all hung out there every friday. Great jod to all that made it happen. We will be back!

We are actually going back here tomorrow for my son's birthday at his request. The owners are super nice. They play music while you skate which is fun for the kids.

Best skating rink around. We use to go to hot wheels and carousel, Sundays night is adult night for those looking to have a kid free night. The owner is amazing! And he's always so involved.

The service was speedy and super friendly. The pizza was AMAZING they gave us two pitchers and one was fruit punch, the other was sprite....I wish they gave us two.....but other than that, I have zero complaints. For the money we paid for the birthday party was money WELL SPENT

My whole family loves this rink!! I have been going here for 30 years but even the new owner is great!! Family night is very fun and its a #1 spot for birthday parties for kids!! Highly recommended for all ages!!

Sunday Funday!! Great experience, nice staff, and family/date night/solo friendly. $7 admission on Sundays if you have your own skates; skate (roller skates/blades) rental is an additional $3 or $4. Prices vary according to day of the week. I will be returning in the future!

Where am I supposed to change my babys diaper? Yes i asked and the employee said ?i dont know? how professional!

Hadn't skated in 30 years went with my gf and 3 nieces. Absolutely loved it, wonderful staff, great sound system and music and very clean. Where can a family of 5 have 2.5 hrs of fun for $25-? I'll be going back again it's great exercise and really fun.

The floor has been newly refinished. Forrest actually cares. It's the last great roller skating rink left in the area! Thank you, Forrest!!!! We appreciate you!!!

Spoke with the new owner by phone to pay for my child's admission and he was absolutely wonderful! Handled my transaction with perfection. My son loves to skate at Forrest's Family Fun Center and I was excited to hear about all of the new updates that Forrest is doing to make the skating rink beautiful inside. Thank You Forrest!

Love this place! Clean Cafe, good food and huge beautiful wood skating surface!

Great place to bring the family!! Also, they have a very nice skate shop that has all the essentials. I highly suggest checking it out during your visit!

Great music for adult night! Skating was great! The floor was amazing. The place is really clean and new.. absolutely awesome!

This is a really big nice skating rink friendly staff... Only thing I think they should switch up is the music.... Play more of a diverse playlist... I seen so many people wearing their own headphones listening to their own music

I have been looking for the perfect Skating rink in Massachusetts. I finally found it. The DJ was awesome. Customer service was a 10. The MC was engaging. Everyone in my family that was there enjoyed themselves and will make a regular outing.

After the switch in ownership the trashy owner ruined the place. He wants a liquor license and when asked about the ramifications on the community and the young people he says "it doesn't matter as long as they pay". Yeah like we needed this scum in the Taunton community. I wonder what he left Florida for if business was so well? Be careful if your a woman with a mind of your own because he'll kick you out or threaten to call the cops when you try to have an adult conversation about his belligerent manneris

Very fun roller skating time. Nice bass. But, I didn't like that they played kids bop the whole time. Kind of expensive for the quality of the place. Also, their bathroom needs renovating. Like seriously.

For a small skating and family fun center, this place is great. The staff is amazing and the place has been cleaned and freshened up from what Silver City used to look like. There are new video games (some not even Round One had before shutting down), some of which you can't use during COVID (understandable). There is hand sanitizer everywhere, and COVID rules are frequently announced and posted. Food can be bought from the grill (when ready announced over the PA system) or drinks from vending machines. T

Great atmosphere. We went for a birthday party. Clean and the pizza was just okay. I like that they havr have water for everyone to drink just in case you get thirsty.

Good vibes but the food is awful. Fries were vastly undercooked don't even know how they came out that way; the wait for the fries was also about 20 mins.

Great to have a local Rollerskating rink! The kids and I always enjoy! One complaint is alot of the music is older while we don't mind as much our children are all under 10 would like to hear some top 40 hits just a suggestion!

Extended hours, New rentals, New arcade games, New seating, New redemption center and New party area!! Home of the Silver City Skating Club. Private and group birthday, corporate and glow parties available as well as skate lessons for all ages. Fun, clean, safe environment for children.

Best Rollerskating rink around!! Been going here since they opened a couple years ago!! Great for all ages, They have Roller Skates, Roller Blades, and 3 Wheeler Skates for the really lil ones?? They also allow you to switch back n forth freely between skates or blades. Most places want to charge you extra to do that! Also, all of there skates are brand new! In fact, the whole place is brand new! And the have a huge snack bar with pretzles, nachos, and fried dough!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
