Love Forest Lanes! They have clean and well maintained lanes, bathrooms, balls, shoes, etc and the food and bar service are great as well as the extra fun things like the arcade area and the light shows in the evenings, music is great all around?a little bit of everything for everyone! Ample parking! It's a little pricey but welcome to OC! Insider tip: book online and save 25%!! Bowling really is Americas Favorite Pastime! You will definitely enjoy bowling at this alley and if you're visiting and/or plannin

We went in to play pool, no one was in the billiards room/bar area. The bartender was really cool! He was kind and friendly and set us up to play when the women sitting across the room went "They can't play". They gave some reason involving darts being in the way? Something was being stored by the pool tables. We were so disappointed because they said yes, gave us the stick and cue balls and then couldn't be bothered to clear the area for us? It seemed lazy to be honest. Other than that I'm sure this is a n

Was at the bar/food area and asked to put the Lakers playoff game on tv while we drank and ate and the lady behind the bar said no, they didn't feel like changing the channel for any of the tvs. Nice way to treat patrons.

We went on Valentine's day and had a terrific time. Didn't have to wait too long. Waited in their nice bar. Friendly people.

The rerack is quick. The music is upbeat. And there are enough bowling balls for everyone. Docking one star because the guy helping is with shoes kept slamming them down on the table...rude. The other staff were very nice.

Forest Lanes is awesome. The management and employees are super cool, helpful, and take customer service seriously. It feels like a second home there.

The selection of music is pretty good and the atmosphere is great. We had a blast!

Great amenities. Music was great. Also Splits bar wi try pool tables is attached. Just a fun place to hang.

The staff are very friendly, and it made my experience there much more enjoyable!

Great place to bowl with friends. Play a regular game or take on some quick 1 ball 5 frame games. Clean and nice and cool on a hot day. Never overly crowded. Able to make reservations and go straight to lane

I wasn't expecting that this place would be so good

Came for a birthday party. Host booked a cosmic party but it didn't go on until over an hour after we started. Good have more bar staff. Food ok.

Bowl here every Wednesday. Good people, good drinks, and plenty of tourneys. Special nights seem to be popular for the crowds that aren't regular bowlers too

Very nice bowling facilities. Jon Diso is the general manager and he is one of the best in the business.

Fun and lanes are well maintained.

Nice Bowling alley, they have a pool table thats regulation size, arcade, concessions, lounge, and of course tons of lanes & balls

Stopped in after the Angels game. Brandon was friendly, helpful & gave great customer service.

Even though we came here on a weekday, the place was still pretty full, and almost all of the lanes were taken. The prices are reasonable, and the lanes are of good quality. We had a good experience at this spot.

Was a great place to bowl at in the 1990?s when AMF owned the place. Sadly Went way downhill when the new owners took over turn of the century. They have long since did away with calottery ticket sales, fired several longtime employees including people we knew at their lounge for a long time! It's obvious this current ownership only cares more about profits over listening to their customers. No longer the fun, festive atmosphere this place once was under AMF! Beware!

I drive pretty far and past other bowling alleys to do league here because I love the league + the alley. Highly recommend!

Forest lanes has always been a favorite of ours. We recently hosted a birthday party there and all I can say is? Amazing. From the set up, service, and kindness? It was all great. Highly recommended.

FUN! great people & staff. great specials. Best crowd in OC. Snack bar. Game room. Beer on tap & bottles. Full service bar.

Come bowling here all the time with family, friends and college?s. My kids had attended a birthday party( pre- COVID). In there goody bags they each received a free game pass. Yesterday, we visited your lake forest location to redeem those free games, bowl and have some pizza. For some reason, Allen decided that was not going to happen. When he very rudely told me My two options were two free shoe rentals or 20 mins of free game time???. I was very confused. So, I repeated myself and asked him we would like

Nice place to bowl. Friendly staff and not over crowded.

Have done a few leagues at Saddleback Lanes, which is the same owner as forest lanes. One would think there would be similar treatment of customers and customer accommodations. Not so... aside from the bartenders, these guys are not good guys! They go out of there way to not accommodate any request, which is complete 180 difference from Saddleback lanes. After this league my team we wont be back.

I had a very bad experience at this place, I had my daughter? birthday party there, the service was very bad, they were very rude despite that I paid around $80 tips that was included in the package, I was expecting at least to help in serving the food or the cake, or even to help the kids to start to play and gave them whatever they need, I had to do everything by myself, nobody checked if everything is okay or not. I wanted a refill for the drinks the person called himself the son of the owner, BRANDON, g

Well kept lanes and friendly workers

For me, forest lanes was pretty good and the food was really delicious. Especially the pizza reminded me about little Cesar's pizza. The only downfall in this location is when you play through about a few games, when it was my time to bowl or someone else, one of the pins would fall down. It would usually be the number 6 pin over in lane 18 if I'm correct or not. I don't like cheating for just one pin so hopefully you guys can fix that problem. Overall, 4/5 stars for this place.

Brought my toddler here for the first time. She loved it. The front desk was fast and the fries were good.

It's been a while since I've been to a bowling alley, but this place was awesome. However, it maybe because I am comparing it to some about two decades ago. The lanes were clean, plenty of ball options, and they had a variety of games. We hosted our son's birthday party here, and everyone was extremely helpful. All the guests had a great time bowling, eating, and just hanging out. We'd definitely come back for more bowling and other activities.

Fun place for family and friends!

I'm in a league here and it is great great service good food no complaints

Forest Lanes offers a fun bowling experience, but the pricing structure has become quite steep. Online reservations at $74.50 for 1 hour and 20 minutes, including shoe rentals, plus a suggested 15% tip, feel excessive, why do I need to tip. Walk-ins without reservations pay $49.99 for 1 hour, and shoes cost an additional $4.99 per person, making it seem overpriced for a casual bowling outing.

Great bowling Lanes and hard working staff.

First time here and we had a great time. The entire place is Very clean, all the balls are organized. And the price was pretty decent. The food was actually really good, the kids loved it and prices for food is really reasonable. 4.59 for a huge hot dog, 7.99 for a big burger. I hate when places that have you trapped charge a ton for food. We will come again!

It's a great place to bowl and all but the bathrooms are very messy and not very sanitary. Even a McDonald's is cleaner than this.

This was a real treat! Place was really clean, and the bowling software was very modern. I'll absolutely be back here.

Have not been bowling in years. Went here for a company event. It was clean and the chicken wings were awesome ?? I would love to go back, but I live too far away from here.

We drove about 45 minutes out of our way to this bowling alley and we are so glad that we did. Staff was very welcoming, friendly, accommodating... desk staff, manager, maintenance guy and snack bar staff all such a breath of fresh air as far as customer service goes. Lanes have awesome touch technology for bumpers and picture profiles for each bowler, so fun! Bathrooms were clean, food was great... honestly, exceeded our expectations in celebrating our 6 year olds birthday as a family. We don't have one co

There are always great experiences here. Nice staff, above average bowling alley food, full lanes, etc.

We had a great time, but the temperature was hot inside. I want to bring my portable AC unit next time

So, I've been here twice so far and I enjoyed it. 2nd time being here, I was bowling hurt and I overheard one of the employees talking to a bowler(probably a regular). I was surprised to hear how knowledgeable the employee was in bowling. Lanes felt great.

Had a great staff Christmas party it was so much fun. I want to give a shout out to Ruby for being amazing she did a great job of taking care of us and all the other staff as well for being on top of it. Overall a great experience!

Sharing time with my teenager..PRICELESS. Fun for the whole family. Economic fun out of the house.

Very convenient and clean location. The only problem is they don't have food or a snack options. There's nothing you can buy to pair with your drinks while you're playing for a few hours.

My son Jonathan and I were there yesterday with our friends from our church and we had a great time. Customer service was very good the only thing I had an issue with is that you weren't able to slide when you approach the pins to throw your ball when you get to the foul line. Other than that I had a great time

My 2 grand kids ( 11 & 6 yrs old ) and I had an awesome time bowling here. The place is clean and not over crowded at that time.We were lucky that our rental shoes were new too.I appreciate the kind demeanor of the cashier since it was our first time bowling.Nice place to have fun with my grand kiddos !

Excelente place to get some fun and Excelente service

Pretty nice place. Came here with a 3 yr and 2 yr old. All had a good time. Went on a Sunday at 10:30. Paid $15 for the hr plus had to rent shoes at $4 and change. Pretty reasonable price. I read online the cost was $34 and that seems a little expensive. The shoes were in good quality not old, not ran down, and not dirty. They have a nice arcade. My son won two batman dolls. Overall a very nice experience. Would only come when the prices are below $20 for the hour. The staff was nice.

Pro shop, Bowlers Depot, is terrific! Jeff and Quinn are very helpful, and get you in and out in a timely manner. Unfortunately, there was a tournament going on the morning we went and we weren't able to try our new balls. However, as a return customer, I had faith Jeff did a terrific job drilling our balls.

This place was fun and the beer pitchers were decently priced. Bowling wasn't that expensive either. They played good music and had the music videos which was fun to watch. There was a lot of food places nearby I would recommend eating somewhere before coming here. The food isn't terrible but it's just standard bowling alley food that's pretty mediocre. The staff was pretty nice no complaints there.

Updated review: Not much has changed from my original review. The prices are a bit higher but what hasn't gone up in price these days? They have certainly done improvements to the facility including state of the art digital touchscreens for each Old review: Top notch bowling facility. Their lanes are just as nice as the staff. I would go out of my way to bowl here. From the aforementioned staff to the league bowlers, this ?) is the epitome of just a great alley. Maybe I'm biased because I've been bowling

Clean center. Owner has done a Great Job keeping center up to date as well as his other centers! Fun place to take the kids or family. With rain coming soon will be busy. Go earlier in the day.

WAY overpriced. But what is more annoying is that it's on a timer, not per game. Literally just had a group of 5 play 2 x games in the allotted time and yet, the game ran out with a turn left for 2 of the players. So now it shut down and we don't get to all enjoy the competition if it all, that was taken away. There has to be better priced bowling alleys that go by games played and not time!

I enjoyed bowling, had fun, did notice a few of pins fell after the rack came down, we had to reset it a few times. The snack bar needs more employees attending to customers. I put in my food order and gave the guy my alley number so he could deliver food to us, after about 10 minutes I went up to check on food and the guy forgot to write our alley number on our ticket, he was in a hurry to go home, food was cold, very dissatisfied. Terrible customer service.

Fun place ,we were able to get a lane quick on a Friday night Fun family time!

Had a great time with friends. I don't drink but my friends bought drinks & said the bartender was rude. The guy that was giving out the shoes was friendly though. Customer service can improve here.

Not busy, good service. But we had technical problems.

We had such a fun night bowling here. The music was great and we had no problem getting a lane on a weekend night when everyone else was fully booked. The boneless wings were great and they had a great selection of food and drinks.

Employees were great. Apparently our lane was about to have an issue and they let us know before we waster any frames and moved us over one lane. It was a fun environment and the alley was clean and we'll kept.

All staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our lanes did not disappoint, everything worked and seemed well maintained.

It was nicely remodeled. Very clean. Reasonable rates to rent a lane for hour or two and way better pricing than Saddleback lanes. Staff was responsive but seemed somewhat new. Kids had a great time bowling and our mini birthday party was a success. We will be back.

My kids love this place! Bowling has become one of our family's favorite past times. We are definitely in competition when we walk through these doors. Staff is always friendly and helpful plus the food is really good.

This place is an true american bowling alley this place never siezes to amaze me with cleanliness and customer service. I film and travel to bowling alleys everywhere. I know what im talking about and eff dave peltier and bowlero

Friendly and helpful staff. Very understanding when we had friends running behind and we were trying to get a lane on a league night. Our lane hung up a couple times, but they graciously added time on since we had to wait a little. Will be back for sure.

Lots of fun. Reservation are required at the moment. You get a lake for 90 minutes and up to 5 players. Includes shoe rental. Family fun times. You can get 2 full games in during this time frame. Place was very clean and follows all covid safety protocol.

Service was horrible. Front desk and bartender were so amazingly bad! With all going around in this world right now you would think customer service would be over the top! But it was completely the opposite! They do not deserve 1 star but I don't know how to give the 0. One last mention the bartender with the red hair needs to find a non customer service job!!!! Will never go Back and never in my life have I left without giving a tip! That's how bad!!

This bowling alley is so so... The food taste average and food service is below average, it was self service! Music was great! No one even ask if we needed anything, as soon as we pick up our bowling shoes, the lady says go to number #23. No one assisted us with the machine or if we needed to order food...There are other bowling alleys that have really excellent service.

Great lanes with great staff. Definitely has that classic feel to it.

Great customer service! It's better to make reservations than to walk in. Lanes are well maintained. Food is good and they also have pool tables and great drinks inside Splits Bar!

Learned to bowl here as a kid growing up in Orange County. Still a great place to relax with friends or spouse. Food is pretty good and always available free parking. Mostly older crowd, FYI.

Could do bigger beer pitchers.. especially for the price and food takes awhile to get.. Otherwise this bowling alley is super clean very nice and very fun.. the interface is very easy to use when adding bowlers and the lanes clear and setup quickly. Wide selection of balls to use that are well organized and the ball return is quick too..

Great place to bowl... casual atmosphere and good snacks. Didn't like the shoe rentals though, rubber heels make for sticking when you need to slide your foot. Overall I really like the place but will just need to bring my own shoes.

Nice place for bowling. They have a big lay out. The waitress was wonderful and very accommodating. Food and service were excellent. The lanes were clean and the location was nice. The Pro Shop was wonderful and very nice as well. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. I met some very nice local bowlers.. We were there for a tournament.

Awesome. Great staff, nice bowlers, yummy beer. It's a bit of a locals ally, so make sure you bring your etiquette when you arrive. If you are just an absolute knucklehead bowler, please bowl to the north of Forest Lanes. You don't have to be good or high scoring bowler, but make sure you look to the left and right before you bowl. Make sure you know it your turn and proceed. Simple bowling manners. I love it here.

Being in a league, their oil on the lanes fades by the time we get into the 2nd game. If you compare them with Saddleback lanes in Mission Viejo, their lanes have more oil appled to the lanes.

Very noisy with music and bright lights. Not a place if you are really serious bowler. Too many distractions. Great place for a party or friendly get together.

The place is nice, clean, and has good people working there.

I gave Forest lanes four stars because they are always closing at least half an hour early when I paid for the full night I feel whoever makes the decision to, is taking advantage of their position!this needs to stop or I'll start going someplace else where the hours on the door are the hours worked..

Just a bunch of girls enjoying their girls night out. Perfect place for some bowling fun. Prices I think went up from the last time I was there but over all wasn't to expensive. The bar is a great bit for some extra fun!

I've been bowling here for about 7 years, the lanes can be inconsistent at times but as a competitor I enjoy searching for different lines on the lane, makes you a better bowler

Super friendly staff, everything was very clean. Food and drinks were great. Had a blast can't wait to go back

Really great lanes. Very clean and everything appears to be up to date. I definitely enjoyed my time there and will be going back there again. You won't regret it.

This bowling center is well patronized and it can get crowded at times. Big groups like families get together to play and enjoy each other company over snacks. Place is well-maintained and clean. Not on the inexpensive side but you get what you pay for. Parking is free, credit cards accepted.

The manager, Quin, at the Bowling Ball Shop did an amazing job with our customer hand drilled bowling balls. We arrived about ten minutes before closing, I know, shame on us, but he accommodated us anyways and got them completed perfectly before he was out for the night! Thank you Quin! I'll be sure to recommend and shop Forest Lanes from now on!

What a great time our entire group from Orange County School of the Arts had. Clean bowling lanes, numerous bowling balls and great food. Staff treated us like royalty. Great place to bring the family for an evening game or sometime after church.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
