Flynn's Retrocade

Flynn's Retrocade

Reviews Summary

Flynn's Retrocade is overwhelmingly praised for its nostalgic collection of well-maintained classic arcade games, affordable flat-rate pricing, and unique soda bar with creative drink options. Many highlight it as a fantastic family-friendly venue, especially for birthday parties, with accommodating staff. The small size can lead to crowding, and some mention temperature control issues (too hot), but most consider these minor drawbacks. The retro atmosphere, including 80s music and rare games like Root Beer Tapper and Star Wars, delights visitors. Pinball machines (quarter-operated) and high-score free soda incentives add to the charm. A few note faded screens on some games, but the overall experience is celebrated as a fun, nostalgic escape.

My daughter's birthday party was here as a two hour time slot rental. 10am-12pm Saturday. Staff showed up late. However there IS a ton of traffic with the construction, so I'll give him that pass. He also wasn't pushy on us leaving right at noon because of it. It was obnoxiously hot inside after about 40 minutes of being in there. We only had about 13 people/kids total inside. I asked the staff member why it was so hot and he thought it was just him experiencing it being too hot, so he did feel bad ab

Flynn's Arcade is more than just a collection of old games. It's a portal to a simpler time, a chance to relive childhood memories, and a reminder of the enduring power of classic entertainment. So grab your favorite soda mix at the Bar, gather your friends, and prepare to be transported to !a pixelated paradise. Donkey Kong at the soda bar personal favorite

This place is great. It would be even better if they sold Beer!! But I'm guessing it's a Utah thing, what can ya do????? Had a blast from the past playing some of the old games from childhood here. 10 bucks for an hour or 15 for all day. .50 cents for pinball and they only had one pinball machine. Highly recomend this one. Lots of fun??

You pay by the hour which is O.K., not sure if it would be better to just do old school quarters. Lots of good games and neat environment. My son had fun, daughter did to, but got bored with about 15 minutes left, so got her a drink. It is her, not the arcade. ?? A couple of the games were down, which honestly can be expected. Want to go back and play Roadblasters (remember playing at Classic Skating when I was my sons age) and hope Pole Position is up. I had Roadblasters Sega Genesis in past and plan on ge

Fun experience! Definitely a great place to have a small birthday party or an evening with the kids at. Opening at 12 on Saturday is a bad idea, two birthday parties at the same time was chaos. All but one game working is great! Having more tables would be greatly appreciated, two small tables was not nearly enough. Overall a fun experience and I would go again, just bring some sanitizer because some of the handles were kinda dirty.

Exceptional small arcade. It's really great for small parties. It's definitely a trip down the lanes of nostalgia. The soda fountain drinks are as good as swig but cheaper.

Took my family there for an afternoon of arcade fun. They had a great time. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with no hassle. We just showed up and played some fun old school games.

Beautiful and wonderful retro arcade. Several of my personal favorite arcade games and the nice young lady working was very kind. Drop by and get your nostalgia on and relive the 80's and 90's again!

We randomly ended up here and absolutely loved it. Such a fun experience. The sodas were great! Love all of the games and the atmosphere!

This place is every 80's/90's/00's kid's dream!! ?? Classic games like Pac-Man, Super Mario, TNT, Tetris, Star Wars, and on and on... ????? family-friendly, kid-friendly ????? entertainment ????? pricing (worth the $8 for 1 hour, good date idea!!) ????? game options/variety ????? cleanliness of play area ????? restroom cleanliness, supplies stocked ????? environment (some game places smell bad or have a dingy feeling, this was clean, comfortable, and nice place to chill) When we arrived, we were the only

You have try this place out!! The games are so awesome and the soda is yummy!! I love the Donkey Kong drink. You can't beat the price either!! Seriously it was a blast!! It's fun for the whole family or for a date. It's wholesome too.

Took my kids for my son's birthday, and it was a blast! So lucky to have something like this locally. I would recommend this to anyone for a fun date night or something to do with your family!

Freaking awesome family fun for all ages! Lots of flavors and dirty drinks at the soda bar. Will go again!

Absolutely love this place! We've been a few times before, and recently my son chose Flynn's for his birthday party. It turned out phenomenal! We filled the place up and everybody had a great time. The staff there was very helpful and kind with the reservation process as well as during the day of the party. Thank you! We'll be back again soon!

I really enjoyed this place. I came here for a friend's Graduation Party and I had a blast. All the arcade cabinets are on freeplay, so you can just play for your allotted time slot. A lot of classics are here, ranging from Pac-Man to Asteroids, Space Invaders to Donkey Kong Jr, Tetris to even a cabinet that emulates NES Games like Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario Bros., and Punch-Out!! There's games for everyone here, even those who don't particularly think of themselves as gamers. My personal favorites were prob

Flynn's was so much fun! Did the $10 for an hour of unlimited games with my family! They also have tasty Fiiz-style drinks.

We visited this place with our Get Out Pass. This was not our first time here. Our kids 11, 9, and almost 3 really enjoy it here. It was pretty busy last time we were her. The employees were very nice. We will be back.

Such an awesome arcade! Super fun, great prices, and most of all: fantastic service! I was planning on going to Flynn's on my birthday and hoping to play the Journey arcade game, as I am named after the band. The game wasn't listed on their website, so I put in a request for it and the NEXT DAY they emailed me back with a picture of the game saying they had put it in for me and wishing me happy birthday. I was so impressed and would definitely recommend Flynn's to anyone!

Plenty of fun classic games to play. Card machine was broken the day that we went but it wasn't to busy which was really nice

This is a blast from the past! If your a 70s, 80, 90s baby your gonna love this place grab your kids and head on down come play games like millipede, asteroids, tron, donkey Kong, pac man and many more! If you have kids who love wreck it Ralph come show them the real life fix it felix Jr machine and rootbeer tappers! My boys who are 7 and 12 loved this place! It's only $12 for the day! Turn those cell phone off and come reminisce with your friends!

I love the vast collection of retro games to choose from!! It's so nice that you can use pay for a day pass instead of paying per play. Sometimes you need a lot of practice on a machine before you can get the hang of it! The place has so much personality and was definitely worth the money. You can even earn a free soda if you get a high score, which I think is so fun! I highly recommend this place :)

Awesome Retro Games. Super small and quiet. I enjoyed my time here.

Fun place! Played games I haven't played in 30+ years and did it with my kid!

Very clean and well maintained! Plenty of great games to play!

When you realize how much you spend at any arcade now a days, this place is a steal! Flat rates and soda bar. Makes me feel old, they have all the classics. A must do with the kiddos!

Quality Vintage Arcade! Takes u back n time! But u gotta visit Black Fly Creations on Amazon for Gaming Apparell Outdoor gear Tactical pens n more

We enjoy this place. We've done birthday parties, date nights, summer "get out of the house" days, etc here. It's small and can get warm during the summer months but they do have a soda bar you can purchase from. In the past during the summer we liked the punch pass. Now we use the Get Out Pass to go there.

Fabulous selection of old 80s arcade games. $10 for an hour $15 for all day. Awesome drink concoctions many flavors. Good time

The assistant manager made my family?s visit to the arcade so fun! Thank you for that! I can't wait to come back!

Pinball was the reason we went. One game was broken, Wonka ate our quarters, but tron was great. Pretty steep price for an hour (12$) most of the arcade games worked well, a few did not

Adorable and perfect if you enjoy retro gaming. They are affordable to rent the place for a private event, too. We reserved the space for a birthday party and we had a great time!

Facebook page says $8 an hour, door says $10 an hour, we go into the establishment and get told both are wrong it is $12 an hour. Did not stay. All prices on door are incorrect. How hard is it to get some masking tape and at least up the door? We would never have gone in!

Amazing!!! We reserved the arcade for a birthday party for our 6-year-old. Every kid left asking their parents if they could have their birthday there too! I can't think of another place that we could have hosted so many kids plus their parents for such a great price. Everyone had a blast. The games are great and well-maintained. The staff was great to work with and very accommodating. Honestly, I might have to have my birthday party here too :) I want to go back!

Love this retrocade. Keeping alive what is slowly disappearing across the state. Please expand your walls for more arcades and pinballs!

Honestly, retro games aren't my thing...but a one hour pass got me a unique mommy and son outing with my 8-year-old. Seems mostly like (from my one time there) a teen hangout zone. I probably won't go back myself, but would recommend Flynn's for anyone who enjoys retro games. I wish more arcade places charged by the hour or day, it makes it more fun to not feel like you are just throwing away money on games that are tricky to actually do well at on the first 10 tries (for me more like the first 30 tries).

Awesome arcade games from the 80s! Took me back to my childhood memories! Great prices on tasty drinks. Fun place for the whole family.

I would give this more stars if I could. The drinks are super cheap and delicious, service was amazing, and the games were all kept in really good condition. Plus, they have a few rare finds that were super fun! You NEED to go.

One of the greatest arcades I have ever been Only in Roy, Utah, I love it

This place is great for dates. The games are super retro but crazy fun. Definitely recommend checking it out

This place is great! Took my ten year old daughter and she absolutely loved it and wants to come back with friends. There's tons of classic arcade games and they are well kept. It wasn't crowded and plenty of space. The one think that needs to be fixed is the pinball machines. There are 5 there but during our visit only one worked, two were out of order and two others wouldn't take the tokens, so check the machines before you buy a bunch of pinball tokens.

We had such a blast here! We decided to take the kids here on Saturday as a last ?hoorah? before school started on Monday. Our kids are 15, 14, 13, and 8. Every single one of them had the best time (even the ones who didn't care to go). We paid for an hour, but we definitely could have stayed longer. There were so many games I didn't get to play, but I'm definitely heading back there for one of our date nights! Definitely prepare yourself by stretching and doing a lot of finger, hand, and forearm workouts

Awesome staff and games that I haven't played since I was a kid!

It would have been 5 if it wasn't for the temp being way to hot and no A/C. Great time especially if you enjoy the classic throw back games. The younger kids may 10 and younger may not appreciate the games as much as adults. But they will still have fun!

Fun place. 1 Hour pass was adequate for our family of teenagers. Went just after opening time on a Saturday, not too busy. Soda bar is nice. Can get flavored drinks. They even have a "Tapper" root beer on tap! Many game screens faded or discolored. Many in great shape like Road Blasters, Joust, and Qbert. Look for Root beer Tapper, Star Wars, and Ms. Pac-Man!

Pretty awesome. Should always just pay for the full day.

My kids LOVE this place! My 12 year old is particularly fond of a certain game, and has gotten the high score twice...which got him two free drinks! The manager, Michelle is so friendly and fun! It's always clean and feels like a very safe place to be. I only wish this were a chain and we could go to one closer to home. Five stars!

We had a great time! It is small but very clean and the machines were working. It wasn't crowded and we felt that we had plenty of time to play all of the classic games they had. Definitely recommend!

Genuinely a blast to the past! It is the best place to go if you wanna play classic arcade games, the cabinets are original and refurbished really well. the price is amazing being a flat fee of $10 per person for a whole day and pinball machines are only $0.50 per go. The root beer is amazing and definitely worth the extra money compared to the average drink, and the staff is really friendly! If you're a fan of retro arcade games, you NEED to come here!

I LOVE this place!!!!!!! It's a little smaller than you'd expect, but it's really cozy. It's cheap too! You only have to pay the admission fee and the rest of the games are free! The drinks are good and it's honestly just good classic fun. I think I smiled and laughed more there than I have in a long time. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Our whole family had a great time reliving some of the most fun video games of my childhood. Good price and good selection of games.

What a fun place! I love the pay one price to play as much as you want, it's a great deal. The pinball is extra, but totally worth it. Took my husband for his birthday and we had a great time! The soda bar is also just a great touch, we will definitely be back :) And as far as COVID concerns, they provide plenty of hand sanitizer, wipes and require masks.

Super fun family friendly environment. They even have stools so my 5 year old could reach the machines. Inexpensive with an entrance fee instead of bothersome quarters. Love that there are no dumb prizes. Employees are so kind and helpful. Great drinks with fun game names!!

I decided to throw my 34th birthday party here and it was awesome! The 2 hours that we reserved flew by. They have some really cool old school games and they are in great condition! I'll definitely be going back. The sodas are really good as well. It's a fun kid friendly environment that's sure to leave you with nostalgia, playing all those old school arcade games that we grew up with.

Very very very fun! So many fun games to play! They have a cute lil drink station with game inspired drinks!! Pinball machine is 25cents all other games are free to play with the purchase of the hour or day passes, which are fairly cheap! I loved it so much!! Definitely going back!!

My family loved this place! We did the all day pass, and had a blast! My family all kind a broke a part and did our own things! The only issue we had was for the pinball machines, they wouldn't take the coins and would send them back to you. Or they would take one coin but wouldn't take the other coin. I'm wanting to go back here!

Lots of classic arcade games and a lot of fun. They are comparably more difficult than playing modern console games.

Love the retro arcade experience. The tile work really creates an old school gold/silver age of arcade ambiance. The soda bar is a bonus and is priced right. Currently it costs $5 per person for one hour and $10 for the whole day, and all video games are free to play. All pinball machines cost .25? per play, which is more than reasonable considering how much it costs just to restore and service them. High score are reset daily, so make sure you check the books if you're aiming for the all time high score. T

This place was super crowded - I went on a Saturday. By 12:15pm (15 minutes after opening) it filled with 25+ people/kids. I'd recommend the company upgrade their location, continue to add more popular games. I felt I didn't quiet get my monies worth because it was too crowded. Even doubling the location and games, would be healthy but not over doing it. I'd crank up that music a bit more to really make it feel like the 80s and 90s. I am be back.

Love this Lil place. We always have fun with the kids here. Awesome games always makes for a good time. To the owner: Mop/swifter throughout the day. The floors are horribly sticky everytime we go. Also with covid and sticky kids, games should be wiped down in between users. These habits should be implemented to staff on a more frequent basis

Had it son's birthday party here, it was awesome. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, they made sure everything was running smoothly. The kids all had a blast playing the games. Not to mention it's nicely air-conditioned, great for overly hot summer days.

Love it! Great fun for parties! Might as well pay for the day, and I suggest the Tron or the Twilight sodas.

I really hope this place can stay in business. It is a kick in the nostalgic butt, in a good way. Fun for all ages and definitely worth the price. Don't forget to check out the pinball room in the back!

They have some great classic games here. I loved the pricing too. One price for all the games you want. No worrying about bringing change for the games. (The only exception is the pinball) the only down side was the games show their age a bit. You can really tell that some of them have been through a lot. But they were all running when I was there. Which is more than you can say for a lot of the other arcades in the area.

I love Flynn's!!! The games are so fun. I also love that we can get specialty Drinks while we are there. My kids and my husband are always wanting to go. The customer service is always awesome as well. They always smile, and are sure to greet us. We have never had a bad experiance there.

Meh ...it's a cool idea...but the place is super small for an arcade....they need way more arcade games...the game selection is really bad. The floors are also very sticky and nasty...I'm assuming from the soda bar they have. If I owned a video arcade, I would definitely not allow drinks on the game floor...there should be a designated area for drinks and eating..but again the place is incredibly small to even accommodate this. Bigger building, more arcades and cleanliness would earn it 5 stars.

I love the place. It has a lot of unique retro games like Tempest and they have rare pinball games like classic Indiana Jones. They stick to mostly the older games. So no Crazy Taxi or street fighter 2. They have a great soda bar it's like Fiiz. So if you are into great drinks and great classic fun. This place is for you.

This is a good place to spend a couple of hours. The games are well taken care of and in my experience people are courteous and give turns. It can be crowded sometimes, but if you come early enough in the afternoon it's not that bad. The high scores are high, so don't plan on beating any unless you want to spend a couple of hours on one game or if you are a master.

This place is awesome, small establishment but has a lot to offer. Awesome vintage arcade games and they have some pinball in the back. 5 bucks an hour for unlimited play and $10 for all day excluding pinball those run on quarters. And a cool Lil soda bar, and the tile work on the ground is amazing. Get the high score on a game and you get a free drink.

I have not personally went in a played but it looks amazing. I went in to ask if the company would be interested in helping with the UAID holiday gift box program and the owner was amazing and very willing to help out an amazing cause. I plan on taking my kids there to play in the fun atmosphere. Thank you for all your help and bringing a fun place to Roy. I will see you soon

This was a lot of fun! It was a fun trip down memory lane.

This place was super rad. The old arcade games are fantastic, most are in great shape. It wasn't very busy when we went so we got to try out almost every game. They definitely capture the feel of an old school arcade. The only thing is it's a little small. I think it would feel very crowded if a lot of people were there.

So much fun! The gaming area is very clean and the staff was very nice. Lots of cool retro games and pinball machines to check out. I will definitely go back with my friends and family in the future!

Love this place and the atmosphere of it so much! Not only do they have all of my favorite games, they play 80's music to go with the theme of it as well! Makes you feel like you're at a real RETRO cade. The soda bar is great, and there is so many options, all of which are great. Can't wait to come back.

Cramped, hot and stuffy. But the retro games from my childhood are awesome and blast from the past. Great price for all day play. The small choice of machines makes it hard to play when it gets busy. But overall, don't want this to seem like a complaint or a negative review. Myself, my wife, and my kids had a great time and will return.

Super awesome place at an incredible price. You can easily spend 3+ hours here. It's a bit smaller than I was expecting, but has about 40-45 arcade games, plus a few pinball machines. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone.

This place was pretty nice, it is a small space lined with stand up arcade machines. Most are new machines running older games. The cost was reasonable, pay by the hour. Pinball costs extra which is where I spent most of my time. It might just be me but I can't spend a lot of time playing a retro game. I ended up playing each pinball table and arcade game in about 45 minutes. I probably will not revisit it, since I feel like I have gotten the experience. But this is a great place to play retro video

People need to know this place exists! The all day pass is toataly worth it. We were able to play for a couple hours go eat dinner and then go back and play for a couple more hours without having to pay again for leaving. Drinks are reasonably priced for themed flavored drinks and the ones we tried were delicious!

This little arcade may be small but it's awesome, for a couple bucks you can play the old school arcade machines as much as you want, still brings some quarters for the pinball. They have a TV at the front that shows the high scores for every game. There's an amazing soda bar with all kinds of "cheat codes" you can add to your drinks. It's just an all around amazing place to spend your Saturday evening.

Great fun arcade, just like when I was a kid but better. You pay by the hour so you can play the game all you want without quarters. They have all the great games and the swap them around so there are new ones when you come back. They also have a snack bar and drinks. They do parties too. I think this is where I will go for my next birthday, who is with me!!

The girl running it (said her name was brynlie) was really nice. The place was nice and clean. The drinks were really good! (I got "The Pacman") The games were really fun, I especially enjoyed playing the star wars game. Thanks Flynn's Retrocade for the great day! Edit: I've been able to visit again this last week, and the person running it was Brynlie again! She was once again very kind and polite, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences here.

Fun. Some of the games are starting to need tune ups. And no one seems to grasp video game etiquette. Maybe as people purchase their wrist bands it should be mentioned that playing the same game for over an hour when there are lines your supposed to take turns. The employees are very sweet. I just think this place should easily be 5 stars if only the employees cleaned while not busy and tried to encourage fair gameplay.

We had my son's 10th birthday party here. It was super low stress and work for me and he and his friends had a blast! This was the cheapest option for the amount of people he wanted to invite and he was so glad he could invite his whole class and all his neighborhood friends. I'd definetly recommend it!

Great place to host a kids birthday party! We had a big group and there was plenty of room for everyone to hang out and play games. Fun for the kids and nostalgic for the parents!

Not a lot of games and a lot of people. Some of the machines (mainly joystick ones) were hard to control due to being overused. It was fun to stroll down memory lane and introduce my kids to the games I played growing up. My kids (both younger than 11) enjoyed it for about 45 minutes and left happy. I don't know why they offer an all day pass. I'd go back for an hour more often if it wasn't so dang expensive for what you get. As it is I'll swing by every couple of years.

They let as many people in that walk though the door. If there are too many people at once, good luck finding a machine to play. A water of the admission fee if you can't play anything. Pinball choices are good, but cost quarters to play on top of the admission fee.

Great place to take kids for a fun afternoon. They have almost all of the great retro games. Everything is clean and they obviously put a lot of effort into keeping the games maintained and repaired. Really good flavored sodas too.

Fun place to play games and hang out. Wish it was bigger and had more room to walk around. If you get too many people inside it definitely feels crowded. Also wish the pinball machines weren't separate and extra cost to play

I took my kids to Flynn's retrocade tonight and had an absolutely enjoyable time. The price is reasonable and they have a fun selection of old 80s arcade games. Definitely a great activity for a weeknight or weekend. Bring your friends or family. Fun times all around.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
