On our way down to the OBX we stopped here because it was the cheapest gas in the area and knew the prices were steeper down toward the beach. A week later when we were leaving we stopped back here to gas up and there was a line of cars, almost 1/2 an hour later we had barely moved, we found out that all the pumps were running slow. It was worth the wait, gas prices were higher at stations just up the road.

Great place to go and be a kid again! This Game room is an arcade for the young and old. We had all ages with us and everyone had a blast! The staff was not the friendliest but the food and games were what we came for. It is hidden and the sign says Flippers Laundry but they are separate and there is also a gas station. Don't be fooled it is a good time. Great mix of new and old technology and games.

Everything was great! Only 2 games were out of order. Nice and clean bathrooms. You do have to go to the cashier to reload and to order game credits due to the machines being out of order. There is a machine that allows you to check your balance and tickets. Tickets load right onto the cards and can be used for candy and toys. The staff at the registers were very quick to help and we didn't have to wait long. We will be going back. Highly recommend for the family or just a cool hang out spot for teens. Most

Was just passing through, and to my surprise, my family found Flippers. This is the Best arcade I've seen in a long time. Lots of variety and lots of games. Make this place a stop if you have kids.

If you're a pinball enthusiast, don't sleep on Flippers! They have sooooo many pinball games in great shape! Out of hundreds of machines, we only encountered 2-3 that were out of order. They also have classic arcade games and the newer games that the younger crowd likes. We've been passing this place to and from the OBX for years and finally popped in this year. From now on, it'll be a yearly stop both coming and going!

I've driven past this gem for years without ever knowing the treasure inside! What a nice blast from the past. Pinball room was my favorite.. Only thing missing was the smell of cheap perfume and cigarettes ?? Good place for birthdays if you have small kids and live in the area.. We didn't stay and play, however, it was still fun just to walk around the inside and see all the old-school games. Will definitely stop back in, now I know it's here, next time we pass through. Thanks ??

I've been coming to this arcade for years. It's a hidden gem. So many vintage and modern games for all generations to be entertained! A lot of the claw machines allows you to win prizes and the pin ball machines have so much variety! It feels like walking into the 80s and the prices for tokens are cheap!

Good pinball selection and a nice set of other games and things too! I think physically separating the card reader pinball machines from the token-only ones was a good decision, and it's always nice to see machines from such a wide stretch of time.

This arcade was awesome. $20 for tokens and played old school pinball for hours. They have skee ball, laser tag, a host of current video games and of course like 50 pinball games. There's a snack shop for hotdogs ?? pizza ?? and drinks with a place to sit down and eat. The facility was clean as well as the restrooms. Have a rainy day at the beach, take them to Flippers for a solid fun tine where your dollar goes further then mist places at the beach. 5 * rating from me and I highly recommend!

Top tier pinball! Take it from an ?up to his neck? pinhead?this place is IT. ???????? The machines are in GREAT SHAPE and the staff is super friendly ?? Awesome selection of machines- new and old! Tournaments on Thursdays if you?r into that ?? They have other arcade games and tickets redemption type stuff that looks well taken care of (I didn't play any of those ?cause I was busy with the silver ball). In house food ???? or Mexican food next door with excellent lunch specials! Spend all day! (Or 2days like

This place absolutely rocks, they have games for kids and shooters but the real attraction for me is the insanely well priced and awesome pinball lineup, they have EVERY retro machine, and some I've never even heard of and I've been to every arcade within a 50 mile radius of my house. And I set two high scores, good luck beating them It's $5 for an hour $10 for two and $19 for all day passes can't beat it

Our spring break getaway coincided with freezing cold weather so we were looking for things to do indoors. I found this place during an online search. It's completely unassuming as you pull in. It's in an old gas station and attached to a laundry mat. But it is a gem of a find. So many old school pin ball machines, and newer electronic games. We put $50 on a card and got 220 credits. Most games took 2-4 credits so the money lasted a while. We didn't eat while we were there but they did have a snack bar.

David Shields has built a great place for pinball playing. Included are pinball machines across 5 decades. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Great place for the newest pinball machines. They also do tournaments and special pinball events. Dave shields has 6.9 mil on the new Pulp Fiction

$20 game card lasted almost an hour. Good prices for the games. Clean place, good spot to waste a few hours during the rain or super hot noon times. Laundromat next door and gas station. They also sell lotto beer other store items. Also they have SO many pinball machines!

The Arcade was a lot of fun. My husband and I went there specifically for the Pinball Machines. They have an amazing collection.

If you love pinball, this is the place to go. They have over 70 machines. Really old stuff and all the new Stern machines. Something for everyone.

Stopped in for pizza to go.... It was good pizza ..... also my grandchildren have been here many times, they have lots of fun there.

This place is often my boys choose when asked to pick a fun activity. They keep the arcade games updated + frequently add new ones. Also our favorite place to play laser tag

WoW! I never knew this place existed. I came upon it by chance. Walked in and was transported back to the 80's!!! I didn't get to play but plan on going back too do just that.

Great selection of kid-friendly and adult games, and so many cool pinball games to choose from. Our 5 year old had a blast with the bowling, skeeball and kid basketball. Even better, most of the pinball machines accept the game card, so you don't need to bring quarters! We'll be returning tomorrow :)

Cool little hidden gem down here at OBX area. The arcade is run pretty well (the machines actually work), fair price, and the laser tag is kinda small but fun. Friendly folks. The pinball rooms though....it's awesome! So many good games. From all different decades.

Great place to take the kids ?? Always clean, too. Pricey, but fun!

Love this place! A little over an hour drive to get there, but always worth it. Bit of a pinball junky...??

It's fun like a small dave and busters good for the kids and big kids heck adults too

We stopped here last year on our away home to Ohio thinking it was a convenience store and were surprised it's a wonderful arcade. Yesterday, the weather was rainy and dreary in Southern Shores, so we took the family there and had a blast. There are many games available and a pool table. Highly recommend Flippers.

These are some of the best playing machines I've ever experienced and they are all premium versions with extras. The lower playfield on The Munsters is just ridiculous. I've never seen that on any of the other machines I've played. They also had some tables I've never seen before. Top notch place, highly recommend!

A must stop for any pinball fan! The owners collection spans several decades. Probably the best collection of recently manufactured pins from the likes of Stern, Jersey Jack, Spooky, etc. Many of the machines are Pro or Limited Edition. It was an absolute pleasure to play here!

Absolutely love this place! Pinball heaven. Arcade is a money grab but the kids love it and it's not inordinately expensive. Their little kitchen is good. Pizza is as many toppings as you like all for the same price. And it was good. It's a bit hectic in there but a great hidden gem that I think is becoming much more popular and well known the past few years

Had the arcade game I was looking for. At a reasonable price too. Only thing I didn't like was charging for refills but I drank mostly water anyway so it wasn't an issue. Will definitely be back ??

A bunch of pinball machines as well as various other arcade games and machines that give out tickets. The most fun part for me is playing laser tag here and dominating young children. Also food is good.

The amount of pinball games they have is amazing, in fact the amount of games that they have is amazing I would guarantee recommend place!!!

Omg get out the car kick back and let the kids eat and play now this place make kids go crazy they have so many games to play for all ages food, candy, soda, milkshakes, and you can fill up your car time we get home get a bath and go to sleep

My grandkids enjoy playing games there.

Overall this place is so much fun! The games are great! Fun for the entire family. The pizza is even delicious. But some of the employees could use some customer service training. We have been 2 times and we have had a unpleasant encounter with the same employee both times.

Flippers is one of our favorite spots ever! We come here at least once a month, usually more. Tons of new arcade games and the pinball is spectacular. Laser tag is very fun - different game options including teams or free-for-all. Prices are incredibly reasonable and we've rarely seen a game or system out of order. The building itself is a bit of a dive on the outside and incredibly unassuming, however, inside is great. They serve pizza and wings (nothing spectacular, but hot and tasty) and have an array of

This place is amazing. If you're a pinball fan this place will blow you away. Such a good selection of games new to old. Crazy collection of LE games. Prices are great. No free play per hour type thing. Go visit.

Great place to stop by and play many of the greatest pinball machines ever produced. They also have some large arcade and redemption games including skeeball and claw machines.

Not a friendly environment. They only got a star because I had to give one. But the young lady at the front was kinda nice and the young male was nice. But let's talk about the old lady who is the ?manager? I went to this establishment tonight to play some games to get my cousin a toy. At 8 o'clock there was multiple people playing games but the old lady told only us we needed to leave by 830. I checked the website and they closed at 9 but I ignored it and kept playing. 815 hits and she looks at me and say

I was a little skeptical due to the building this is in but it is terrific on the inside. Very clean, staff was very nice. Pizza is made in store and is delicious. Love the air hockey and the old fashioned pinball! A great alternative to going to Virginia for the kiddos to have lots of fun!

I was so impressed with this place! It is a lot bigger than it looks. Don't forget to check out their Amazing pin ball machines in great condition. If you go even further back, you will fall in love with the classis arcade games you may have grown up with. This was priced great and my family had a blast. The employees there were absolutely kind hearted and so sweet to everyone.

Can't believe I didn't know about this place. Wonderful games, laser tag was awesome! Coming back for sure.

A cool place to enjoy some modern and nostalgic arcade action and the kids like the laser tag as well. You can even play some pool of you're in the mood. If you're a Hunt's Brothers pizza fan, they do a good job with theirs. Well stocked coolers and isles on the convenience store side, nice seating area and the restrooms are always cleaned well above average by local standards.

A magnificent pinball arcade! I've never seen so many games in a single place at once. Spoke with the operator for a few minutes and he seems like a decent guy. I wish we had a place like this near where I live!

Love this place. Friendly people. Awesome games. Its a must!

They have ripped me off of my money the fact they only do cash and the sign of ?no change? didn't help due to the fact it was small and hidden, I put $20 for a $10 game card and I expected my $10 back and ask the owner but damn she was rude to me about it. I am not from NC and I'm just visiting yet gave me a bad first impression. Only thing nice was the iconic games they had in the back. I want my $10 back. This is a big scam when only the atm gives increments of $20 and it is very suspicious that a machine

Is there a better place for pin ball ?? I think not!!

Amazing. Such a good time for me and the family. Definitely a go to day trip for obx visitors. Won the cutest pink turtle

WE LOVE FLIPPERS!!! Our family found this gem on a rainy day back in 2018. It is now a tradition that we stop in and play every single year. Our kids love it and we love all playing the games together. They have so many pinball machines too! It's awesome!!

We planned my son's birthday party here and it was a lot of fun for the kids and the adults in pinball. Laser Tag was a blast since they allowed us to take our whole group including the littles. Only one person who worked there was helpful and informative however, the younger gentleman with the glasses and dark hair. The lady assisting the party and food was very unpleasant on our arrival and getting information for the party before arrival was not easy and no one was very helpful. We had fun but it was str

Great place to have a birthday party or to just go have a great time with the family or Friends! Be prepared to spend on the fun games. Has pizza and fountain drinks. Also has isles of candy and other beverages there as well. Fun For all ages!

This place waw excellent. Visited on a rainy day. Games are priced well and the number of pinball machines are through the roof but must use quarters and not the game cards. The two people working there were nice as can be and did not stop moving. Prizes were at a reasonable ticket number. Laser tag was not open the day we went but didn't matter in the end.

You want to play some pinball? This is your spot. Vintage and brand new state of the art machines. Plenty to choose from. There are arcade games as well, but I wasn't there for them.

Great pinball experience. Well maintained games. Rare games, limited edition games, classics.

This place is incredible! Tons of pins! It's like an adult chuck e cheese if you Like pinball. I only wish I could have a beer while playing. There is a brewery right down the street, but it's not a great one. My husband and I LOVE coming here on Our way to the outer banks. It's never crowded unless there's a competition. It can be a destination in itself as it's very easy to eat up an entire day here.

Amazing place! It wasn't busy when I arrived, they must have had HUNDREDS of pinball machines, I'd say 95% of them worked perfectly. They had a few skill cranes, pool table and a few arcade games, and even a retro arcade with really old classics (1980's). It's different and interesting seeing something like an arcade that is attached to a convenience store, nothing like that where I live. They were opening laser tag in about a week, wish I could be here to see it. Maybe next time!!

Was very clean friendly staff

We went for the first time locally with our kids and their cousins (7 total) over spring break. I have no complaints. The employee was busy but nice. Unfortunately reading other reviews the day the employee was rude. Hint #1 employees change OFTEN. HINT #2 No one wants to work these days so the one or two employees there can not wait on just YOU when there are 25 other paying customers as well. We have been to several arcades up through VA and down through the entire OBX, and Flippers was VERY impressive wi

This place is incredible and affordable. As of 10/20- machines are back on and they do temperature checks for covid precautions. And it's only $10 for two hours of pinball play!!! I coulda stayed here for at least 4 hours but alas I didn't wanna leave my.dog by himself for so long. Amazing lineup of games and they're clean and play great.

Lady at the front counter did not look like she wanted to be there. It's more of an arcade than a convenience store. They had a small selection of drinks and snacks. They had a huge selection of beer. The arcade area looked like it was well maintained. Hard to shop at a place with an employee who seemed to be having a bad day. Overall I would not stop here again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Have tried to play lazer tag for the past 3 years in January . Called ahead during the week to see if we needed reservations as we would have at least 20-30 people, was told would be no problem no reservations required. Every year when we get there we have not been able to play as they said they are short staffed and we should have called on Saturday to speak with Arlene the weekend manager before coming. No apology just attitude from Arlene. We will not be trying again 3rd

This place was awesome. We stopped here for gas on our way home to New York from OBX. My kids were over the moon with all the great games, but what surprised and delighted them the most was all the classic pinball machines. Really wish we had a place like this in NY. Thanks for creating a memorable stop on a long journey home.

Really fun place, and everything is about half the price of any other arcade. It's worth the trip if you're staying in Duck or something.

Great place to take your kids for a birthday. Arcades, pinballs, and lazer tag. Lots of great fun but the Lazer tag is the most. Lots of parking even for trailers. Decent pizza served on the premises and they cater parties. Local pinball clubs often meet here. Great collection of classic pinball games! Alcohol is sold here but I think you cannot drink it here ?? Handicap friendly. Lots of prizes available for the arcade. Plenty of stools and benches. Clean facilities.

This is an arcade/pinball paradise. I've come here with friends and $20 for 1-2 hours of fun. I love the pinball machines in particular and there's so many you almost can't try them all in one visit. There's also a cheap snack area. This is the perfect kid's party, gamer stop, or competitive date night.

Wow this place is awsome! From the outside it just looks like a gas station, but inside you'll find one the biggest and best collections of pinball machines I've ever seen. If you are in the area and like pinball, you must stop and check this place out. Flippers has most of the top pins ever made, my hats off to the owner allowing the public to enjoy this collection.

We were looking for a way to kill time on a rainy day and this is where we ended up. They have everything from vintage pinball to VR games. For $10, we had a blast playing games for 2hrs

Awesome arcade with lots and lots of pinball machines, new vr games and laser tag they also have hunt bros pizza

One of the most eclectic places you'll ever run across!! Gas station plus laser tag, game room (a la Chuck E. Cheese), and a TON of great pinball machines from every era!

My friends daughter turned 11 and they held her party here. What a BLAST! LASER TAG AND ARCADE GAMES GALORE! Pizza was delicious and staff was super friendly! Highly recommend this for a great and inexpensive way to keep your children happy and family friendly as a perk!

First time visitors. Excellent Arcade. Most machines were in excellent to mint condition. Having played much pinball in the last 20+ years, I know how much maintenance these machines require. Staff was very nice and helpful. Two machines needed repair (both were antique). Staff offered a refund, took a damage report, and marked the machines as "out of order". They were attentive and understanding. (Part of playing pinball is telling the arcade when the machine isn't working right. You can't fix it if

I had my grand daughters birthday party here today. First and the only thing good was the price was great and the children had fun. The pizza was alright and acceptable for the price i paid. The staff did not seem like they wanted us there. While our pizza was done. One staff member was eating chicken wings and finished them before giving our pizza to us.we asked another staff member if we can use the trash can and the response was" i guess so". Not once did they come over to see how everything was or even

I mean come on. This place is like a 7-11 had a baby with a giant arcade and a pizza restaurant and then moved in next door to a modern laundromat. What's not to like. Grab some gas.....play some awesome arcade games.....flirt with the ladies at the front as you buy your pizza and sodas. Heck I am in love!

Coolest Arcade I've ever seen!

Always a stop when we visit the OBX. Lots of games for the kids, food drinks. Downside some games always broke. They do have laser tag which is fun to do. They will be expanding soon into another building and this will be for adults with on-site beverages can't wait!

1 of the last remaining arcades that cater to birthday parties and have laser tag. We go their regularly with all of our kids. Wonderful place with good staff.

The arcade was great; however, there was a miscommunication with a party and an employee was extremely rude and made sure we had issues with our stay. I love the place but because the rudeness i won't be returning.

Awesome place for kids (and adults)! We were invited to a 6 year old birthday and had a blast. I didn't realize the treasure this place has inside! Definitely a fun stop for sure. I wish the laser tag games were just a little longer! :)

This place is AWESOME!!! If you're into pinball games, like I am, then you have to check this place out. There are a ton of games ranging from the 60's to now plus they have a classic arcade and modern arcade. Great spot where $20 will get you a ton of fun!

Off the charts. I have been to the Pinball Museum in Las Vegas and have machines myself. This place is an absolute must if you like pinball. The machines are perfectly maintained. There is no wear on the play tables. I don't know how they do it. My estimate is around 60 machines. Spectacular, and yes you can play them all. Just a big thank you to the owner for keeping pinball alive.

Im pretty disappointed in the customer service. We called ahead to confirm they had food, when we got there they told us, we may not have enough......okay so why not tell us that on the phone. The games were great and the machines ran well. However when we went to place the order for the pizza it took 45 minutes to get it, however no one mentioned it would take that long, or we would have order at the beginning. Overall just disappointed in the communication qnd customer services.

Best arcade near to the outer banks. Stopping here on the way home has become a tradition that we will continue as long as it stays open!

Amazing place with a confusing exterior (ragged looking gas station, cemetery out front and a nearly abandoned Mexican restaurant next door) that will scare off most people but do not worry arcade goodness is inside. Seriously kick arse selection of pinball machines, my guess of around 40 or so. Also has games similar to Chucky Cheese games but actually much better as they aren't all gambling for kids. Stop, check this place out!

Pros: Clean, lots of super cool pinball, affordable. The pinball machines are in top shape. Friendly staff. Cons: We were having so much fun, 2 hrs flew by like it was 20 min.

Super cool tucked away arcade! Lots of good machines, plenty of old n new stuff. Good food too!

Awesome arcade. Very patient staff, I commend them for that! Willing to go above and beyond to make birthdays special. We have had multiple parties here and the kids left exhausted and happy each time.

They have some crazy expensive pinball machines. Some very new, walking dead, and some very old but great working condition to play. It had all my dream list machines. By the way I'm not talking about for sale. They are just for play. Also had skee ball. Very cool place to stop in and get some goodies for the trip home.

We have been for last three years in January. We call in mid week and tell them we are coming with 20+ people and they say no problem no need to make reservations. We show up on Saturday night and are told we can't play Lazer tag. So I'm saying this place or the at least the management SUCKS

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
