The bartender Nick was so accommodating, friendly and informative!!!! We loved this place!!!! The games were good, drinks were nice, and so were the games and atmosphere! We went to several places in cape cod. But this was the most fun and accommodating! Food was good too! Everything about this place was great. We had 2 kids (13 and 10) to play games and eat food. Nick gave us out of town tips and advice! We will definitely be back and give this place 5stars!
Delicious modern food! Flashback is a great place for a modern cuisine and classic games. The drink menu is very diverse. The arcade games are generally well kept in working order with a good combination of the classics and a couple newer games. This is a great hangout place regardless of the time of year (while it's open). Locals definitely appreciate Flashback being open for the majority of the off season. Cape Cod needs more modern establishments like this.
Great Retro Vibe. Even some of the drinks are named after 80s movies. The waffle fries and the wings are delicious! The pretzel is Huge! This Spot isn't huge so I wouldn't go at busy times of day, especially in the summer. We've been here 3 times and had lots of fun every time. There is so much to look at! It's great.
Always great experience and great food at a local bar. Enjoy the service and the food. Jasmine nick and Sean are great every-time I come in. Always looking forward to going back weather it's for lunch or a drink after a long day.
Awesome bar, great staff. I ordered a California Burrito (like San Diego's Cheesesteak...normal burrito with fries in it instead of rice and with no beans) when I noticed they had all ingredients in other plates. Our moustached waiter wasnt sure if cook would do it...but he asked. Sure enough, cook made a great spicy cali burrito. Another member of our party ordered and loved the Ramen. Burger received good review. The fries were ok...but i felt they could be spiced up with some McCormick Nashville Spicy ch
Food is always great but beyond that, we have allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish. They have been extremely accommodating and all of our meals have been very allergen friendly. We have been back many times and will definitely continue our patronage!
My boyfriend and I were in town just for the night and stumbled on this little gem of a place. Decent selection of arcade cabs and pinball machines. Great drinks at great prices. Nick, the bartender, was wonderful to chat with. Thanks for the hospitality, Nick!
Stopped in on a whim as we began walking Main Street. It was awesome! My kids loved all the pinball games and retro arcade games. We ended up staying for lunch! We got burgers (mine was awesome and I'm picky? I'd go back for the burger), wings and tenders. All good. Super friendly and helpful waitstaff. Lots of kids and families and very fun but not chaotic at all.
Awesome atmosphere! Great food and cocktails. Friendly staff. Great for all ages. Karaoke and live music!
They were hosting a birthday party when we arrived. But we felt greeted and taken care of. Staff is super friendly. This is a great spot to stop in for grub, games and childhood nostalgia. If you love arcades and 80s movies, then check this place out.
Beware the mushroom. It was a crisp March afternoon when I went on Doordash and ordered some burgers piled high with saut?ed mushrooms from this place. I didn't think much of it until I get a call from a strange number. "we're out of mushrooms, would you like a substitution?" Devastated, I resigned myself to having to reorder from one of the many other burgers places in town that has mushrooms. "please cancel the order," I said. "I can't do that." She said. Dumbfounded, I asked "So, you can't make the order
This is probably one of the worst places I've been. We went for karaoke night. I was about the 8th person on line. After giving the DJ my name and song, we waited. After waiting an hour and a half, with no place to sit, and listening to 2 dozen "singers" I went to him and asked if we were up soon. He told me I was number 20!!! But he would move me up. After waiting another 15 min, he said I i was number 3 in line. I said, "Forget it, we're leaving." We should have left when we saw the gross vibe. Unless you
Best new scene on Cape! Great staff and choice of games. Update 2022: Now fully entrenched in the Main st , Hyannis, Ma community "Flashback" is a prime time spot for any form of entertainment you may need! The menu is very unique with top flight local suppliers! I, personally, live stream here and always catch the right vibes! Whether it's a family outing, adults or date night you won't be disappointed by the cordial staff at: Flashback Retro Arcade+Bar !
I went here when I was on a girls trip with my mom! It was so fun!! They have a ton of retro arcade games, and they were playing old movies on the wall. Super fun vibes. The bartender was so nice, I asked her to make whatever shot she wanted and the one she chose was so good! If you're in Hyannis and want to go somewhere with fun vibes, definitely choose Flashback!
DJ the bartender is awesome, he's funny and makes a great drink. Cool bar with fun games/events.
Definitely a cool place to drop by while on vacation or if you're local ! A really cool selection of classic arcade games, a wide variety of amazing food, Cool 80's inspired drinks, and a very friendly staff. 10/10 a place to have a great time
Vist here 8/22 ?Food was hot and fresh! Love the 80s retro style! I gor a tshirt it was over priced compared to the other shops. However, I was impressed!! Love this place will bring my children to see it soon!!
I went acouple times months ago but i forgot to leave a review. One of my favorite places to go to hang out with friends or to just unwind and relax. Everyone that works there is super nice and awesome. I should also mention the chef there does a fantastic job and you can tell the amount of love that is made with these dishes. Really great spot to grab a bite to eat and have fun. Overall if you havent been you should come and support this amazing business! Very lucky to have Flashback in our community
Great spot for delicious food, fun atmosphere, and throwback memories! The service was excellent and the meal was spot on. What really makes this place special is the retro arcade games, the 80s themed posters and neon, and the nostalgic music and movies playing. Even though they were short-staffed, our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was served hot and fresh and our order was executed perfectly. There are unique touches throughout the restaurant - Darth Vader holding a baby Yoda, a drink
Shawn was amazing, his service and customer interaction was great. Food was great, well prepared and served quickly. I highly recommend this place when you visit Cape cod
Small, quaint retro game restaurant. We ended up having a couple of drinks and a pretzel while the kids played video games. The pretzel was very good and the wait staff was very attentive and helpful!! Nice place, would definitely go back and maybe try more of the food.
Stayed at Heritage House hotel and was referred here. The customer service is nice. Everyone smiled and food was on point. My best is the peanut butter chocolate dessert.
the owner is always drunk and yelled at my friends and I to leave he threatened to call the cops when we didn't even do anything he got all hostile with me and yelled at us all because we didn't get drinks and we were there for karaoke bc we ?don't do anything for the business? EDIT: um actually THIS GROUP did no such thing idk where ur getting ur info from but what you are NOT gonna do is disrespect my friends and I like that im sorry ur mad cuz we called you out on how hostile and nasty you were to not on
Such a special place! Young and fun. Games to play and 80s movies to watch. Fun cocktails and solid beer list. Ramen and/or tots are a must! They also have trivia, live music, and karaoke on different nights of the week.
The vibe at this place was great, service exceptional, the food not so much. With my husband's nut and fish allergies there was little on the menu he could eat as they served mostly fried foods that were all fried in the same vat of oil with no separate one for those with food allergies so that left him with very little to choose from but where we we're both starving by this point he got a burger with a side salad as it was the only side option that wouldn't potentially kill him. I got their pork belly rame
Very cool restaurant. The vibe is awesome. Our food wasn't great (chicken tenders and chicken on sandwiches very overcooked and hard to chew) but seeing all the other positive reviews on the food, we must have just gotten a bad batch. Still an overall awesome place and we would try it again.
Is not bad. Food is nothing special but the little figurines and stuff make up for things, a little. Arcades could have a better variety, but that's just me.
I took my son to this place and we had such a great time! Food was yummy (especially the Rodeo Burger), drinks were on point and the servers and bar tenders are awesome! We had fun playing the arcade games and the atmosphere was cool and comfortable. Highly recommend and will be going back.
Great place! Lots of fun games and the specialty drinks are very good. The service was excellent, bar tender was friendly and fast. Park in ocean street lot if there's no on street parking.
This is an outstanding. Sensational place ! Owner is super friendly. Super intelligent and has a place that instantly makes you happy the moment you walk in. There are amazing good vibes and the choice is happiness with attention to details all over. Flashback Retro Arcade evokes pleasant memories and nostalgia. ! We loved it.
My Angus burger was great. Nice place if you like the old arcades. They have the classics, pinball machines, Pac Man, Guitar Hero, and others. Only problem is, they aren't a quarter anymore. Most games will set you back a dollar per play, but some do have specials. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
It's an neat little spot to stop in. I did love getting to play some of my old favorite arcade games with my kid. But $1 per game goes quick, some machines were down, a few ate several quarters. Person at the bar wasn't very helpful when we told them.
Wow this place is cool! Come here for dinner last night and at first thought it was just gonna be a bar food type place. But when the wife and I got the menus we saw they had why more then just bar food. The birraha ramen is awesome! And the wife loved the steak tips. Portions are a really good size! The games are fun too! Can't wait to visit again and check this place out again.
Nick and jasmine were amazing, they were super friendly and accommodating for my food allergies. Everyone at the bar was super nice and we had great conversations. We had sports and movies playing so me and my boyfriend had entertainment that we were interested in. I didn't have food but we saw some of the dishes come out and they looked amazing definetly coming back for food and drinks.
Stopped here in the middle of the hurricane and enjoyed a fantastic Cosmo, a couple of pina coladas and a gin and tonic. The lights went out and we were still waited on and offered drinks. The atmosphere was superb as well as the customer service. We will definitely be back.
Clean bathrooms, good food selection, not a huge amount of games but the ones they have a good
Fun arcade bar in Hyannis. Just a few pinball tables, but seemed to be in working condition ($1 per play.) 80s memorabilia was interesting to see. Hope to be back!
Incredible spot! Great games, drinks and Nick is a great host and bar tender!
They have actual arcade games. There were a few pinball machines and some racing games with actual pedals which took me back to the arcades I went to as a kid. I did get a bit of nostalgia here. The only real modern games they had were guitar hero and an interactive Family Guy bowling game. Everything else was straight out of the 80s/90s. Mortal Kombat 3 was great to play a few games on and they also had The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and of course Galaga and Pac Man. One full wall of the place
Great little spot in the heart of downtown Hyannis. We went for lunch on a Saturday and the server was attentive and working hard throughout our stay and had a great personality. With a relatively standard pub fare menu, the food was much better than your normal pub expectations with the Cobb salad, fish tacos and the Bird is the Word sandwich real winners for our table. A nice selection of some retro video games and pinball machines that helped not just pass the time while waiting for food but also added a
Sure, we had to wait a couple minutes after we sat ourselves?no sign to direct you. This was due to the Excellent customer service! Nicholas and Debbie took care of everything for us from food, drinks, making sure our 11-year-old nephew was occupied and happy, to make sure we weren't wasting money getting quarters out of the change machine. If you're looking for something family-friendly to do and are interested in, some nostalgic games please visit flashback in Cape Cod. The entr?es were delicious. The dri
This place is great! And the staff is so invested in making sure the guests are happy! Awesome drink list with great ingredients. Very good experience
Wings were delicious. They have some old Skool games such as pin ball machines, donkey Kong, The Simpsons, Galaga, Ms Pac-Man and other games. It's more of an adult bar atmosphere but I did see a man with his child playing the games. The wings were so good that my husband and I ordered take out the next evening. The two ladies that were working there on May 3rd and May 4th 2024 were excellent servers and friendly.
It's a decent place. A few pinball machines and old video games but I was expecting more games. Fun place to hang out and have a drink and play some games right on Main St.
Very good place, great idea bring a little bit back from 80's so people can come and enjoy!
5 stars for Nick. Give this kid a raise if you're the owner. One of the most creative and prolific bartenders I've met as an experienced bar patron.
One of my fav spots I've visited on cape deff worth a stop by! Great drinks friendly team that works there great bartenders and retro arcade games to food that you won't find at many other places
Stopped in for an early dinner and a drink. Jasmine the bartender was so attentive and sweet! Had the Retro Rangoons which were to die for. Served with a spicy sweet chili sauce. The Nashville sliders were absolutely amazing aswell. 100 percent recommend this to anyone in the Hyannis area!
Expected more games. I was not able to get service here when i was in early in the day with a friend during the summer. We eventually asked for menus at the bar but no one ever came to the table, even after that. Gave them a half hour and left. There was a table of regulars that did have waitstaff serve them. You need to be more attentive if you're going to compete on Main street!
Unbelievable spot. Came here with a huge group and kids and they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Great staff. Kids loved the games and the food was amazing. Scratch kitchen. Top 5 burger I've ever had. Everything was awesome. Great drink list and beer selection. The food is spectacular...did I mention that?
Flashbacks is a gem of a restaurant. The bacon cheese burger is fantastic. The fries are very good. The staff is very pleasant and the prices are reasonable.
The food was amazing, awesome steak tips. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Our waitress was absolutely amazing.
The food here is outstanding, Fish & Chips & Pretzels were very Tasteful! the fish had a perfect crumbing, i just love the food here, the service is also quite amazing, so are the video game selections, makes me cry of nostalgia everytime i walk inside. 6/5 Just great!
Ignore the bad review. The place is built for socializing. I'd say the spacing is perfect for hanging with mates or meeting the folks at the table or game next to you. It's a vibrant atmosphere. There aren't a lot of games but definitely enough to fill time for an hour or so. Lots of cool 80?s movie and game memorabilia everywhere. 80?s movies playing on the big screen behind the bar. The hamburger was 5 stars on its own. The house cocktails are creatively concocted and have great names haha The staff is fr
The decor is pop-culture from the last 40 yrs mostly movies and video games with arcade games Service has been great though I haven't gotten to eat here yet do to the time I get there overall great place so far
This is a new place in Hyannis and I found out about it online by chance. We can't wait to go back! The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious we had a burger and a pork belly but, along with a cider and a couple mixed drinks. Everything was amazing. The decor is fun, the games are well maintained and reasonable priced. The ambiance was 80s music and UHF was playing on one of the bar TVs, it should be noted that the place was packed when we left, but not loud. You could have a conversa
Needed a place to eat before flight- Flashbacks had great throw back decor, fun themed drink names and food. The arcade games were the best part. We ordered nachos as a snack and was served a pile of plain tortilla chips with cheese on the bottom of the plate and a sprinkle on top. Most importantly, the salsa/tomato toppings did not look fresh. Not worth $16, in my opinion. I would return but I would probably order something else next time. Staff was attentive and friendly - may have just been an off day.
We're staying in hyannis for a week on vacation and stumbled upon this place. So amazing! Super cool vibe with all the 80's nostalgia. Great arcade games and movies playing. The food and staff are amazing. If you go one place while you're here, GO TO FLASHBACK! It happened to be trivia night when we went and it was fantastic. Kevin, who runs the trivia game, is AWESOME! Thank you so much for making our trip so much fun. ??
Decent amount of games offered. More of a bar and food place than a arcade but the entire wall on the right side of the building had retro style games. The drinks were reasonably priced. Can use quarters for games or ask for coins that come in 5 dollar bundles. 40 coins is 5 dollars and each game is 2 to 4 coins per play. Pinball is 4 coins per play. Overall great place to spend some time when looking for something fun to do in Hyannis. Also go in the afternoon if you don't like big crowds of people and mor
Went in today there was one waitress for the whole place (tables and bar) lots of young teens we waited a hour to get our food the ramen bowl used to be good but I don't know what happened today it was so watered down and tasted burnt it was absolutely horrible. The wings were just average. The salad was good but how can you mess that up?. The games are so outdated would be nice if maybe they updated some of their games the games they have there now are from the 80s typical PAC man and gun games... they're
Staff is amazing, fun games, loved the 80s vibe, and food eas really good.
A Retro Arcade bar with a great selection of games and drinks. 4 pinball tables, racing games, old school AMV shooters. Food is super high quality for the atmosphere. Bartenders are knowledgeable and held a strong conversation about bourbon with me (good selection too!).
This restaurant is a great concept but poorly executed. We went there 7/05/19. The AC was ether not working or not good enough. Everyone was sweating and the staff looked miserable in the heat. The games are all lined up with not a lot of room and I ended up having trouble playing them because people were constantly bumping into me to get by. Games are $1 each to play which is very expensive. As for seating we had to share a table with another guest due to a poor layout. For 3 people who eat got 1 drink the
Retro games, food, and small bar. Service was good. Games fun, cheap date
Amazing time in such a cool place!!!! Time warp back to the Eighties with awesome food and amazing drinks!!!! Big kid fun for the entire family!!! We crashed this place with an entire U-9 girls soccer team complete with all of the parents and siblings!!!! It was awesome!!! The staff is amazing and pulled off a real night to remember!!!! Thanks guys!!! What a great place!!!!
The people were GREAT!! Ordered food, Chicken wrap and got letuse wrap?? All letuse just a few pieces of cx. Not worth the price. Had a 1 shot $13 drink if I had another I could go to Luke's and buy a bottle. And make 13 to 15 drinks. The fries were dreamy and the BEST I've ever had in the world. And I'm a old guy. So, in the future I'd pass, unless I just want some awesome fries!!
UPDATE: August 19 2019: gave the place another try as I was informed by someone else that the ignorant bartender was a former GM no longer with Flashbacks. Redeemed! Great service and loved the bison burger! Glad to see this place thriving! Hopefully you guys can get Tron in for a game one of these days! PREVIOUSLY in 2019: a weeks ago was a great experience with dinner drinks and service being great. This time out on a Sunday night I thought I'd stop in since they weren't busy, sit at the bar andand or d
I just tried their "Get in My Belly" Burger. I think I died and went straight to heaven. It was amazing. I have never had a burger so good. We have eaten there 3 times so far and never had a bad experience. And their pickle slices are literally the best I have ever had. It's so good. Keep up the good work guys!
Great little spot, the drinks are reasonably priced and the games are well maintained. There's usually a retro movie playing on a large screen which is pretty neat. The staff was also super friendly and welcoming. Overall I highly enjoyed my visit there!
Great drinks, solid pub fare with an emphasis on pork belly. Fun pinball and arcade games. Bartenders and staff are friendly. Live music and trivia nights were fun on both our visits.
The food is really spectacular here. The bowser burger was better when it had the bacon jam on it, but the sweet potato fries keep me coming back. Great staff too, everyone is very nice every time we visit.
I recently met up with friends at flashback and we we were blown away! The vibe and atmosphere was so fun, the drinks were great and the food was fantastic! Big thank you to head chef Keegan! Overall 10/10 recommend!
Burger was surprisingly very good and fries were made to order and hot!!! Did not expect but the burger was juicy and homemade.
I enjoyed this place. The theme is a retro 80's arcade. They have all the good 80's games like pac-man and Mortal Kombat. The food was cooked well and the waitress treated us well. I recommend this place.
It was nice experience of last century gaming. We had few drinks. It was fun place to visit. Service was welcoming. ??. There were 11 of us and parents and kids had common games to play.
Amazing atmosphere! Food was good too. Had the steak sandwich and it was great. Kid loved the rockos tacos with cod. Service was excellent
If you like old school video games and a beer...this place is for you! This place is right on Main St. Hyannis. The back wall is loaded with Pinball machines and vintage Video Games! From Space Invaders to Guitar Hero. You're going to love it...I know my crew did!
Me and my bf are on vacation and decided to visit this place on our last night here. We're so sad we discovered this place on our last day! He ordered the chicken sandwich which was amazing! And the drinks were good too. All the more ?expensive? restaurants we went too didn't even compare to this much more low scale, affordable place. We're sad it's our last night here, but If we ever visit the cape again we'll be sure to stop here again!
Awesome place, food was amazing. Server was very attentive. My kid loved the video games, (I did not let him beat me at Marvel Vs Capcom) will definitely go back.
The food is amazing was really taken aback by how phenomenal it was. The steak and beef dishes were top notch. And the sticky pork shank dish was perfection. I spent a week on cape cod and went back 3 times. So what's that tell ya'. And I will definitely be back when I'm on cape cod next.
Food is retro, taste is good. However it is not the healthiest food you would want to eat. Even the grilled chicken has artery clogging additions added to it. The retro video games are amazing and cost on average 50 cents per game. Next time we visit it will be all about the retro games which are outrageously fun to play.
Great tasting food with fun arcade games to play while you wait. The menu items are fun references to classic games and movies and you can even watch a movie while you eat! I definitely would recommend this place.
Drove over 20 mins from our hotel to go there. Staff ignored us for over 10 mins and they hardly had any customers. Waitress was too busy sorting silverware and wiping down tables to even bring us menus or take our drink order. She walked right by us and looked at us 4 times before we gave up and left. What a horrible experience to have on vacation. Avoid this place!!!
We randomly found this place on the way to an Airbnb in Brewster & are SO GLAD we did!!! The bartender was friendly as could be, the place is clearly loved by locals even at a mere 5 pm, & the food is so crazily above & beyond what you would expect. GET THE CHOWDER!!! Seriously.
Great atmosphere with cool retro games, toys, posters and movies playing. My only complaint was that the food was ok. Example tater tots were nice and crispy but they were look warm. I would go back.
If you appreciate the Eighties, this place is for you! Great food and staff with a unique layout and at least a dozen classic games and newer ones as well. Really great theme here... you'll spend the first five minutes just looking around, trust me!
Great spot to play some nostalgic arcade games, but the games are a bit pricey compared to other arcades I've been to. Nearly every game is $1 to play. But the staff and location are great!
Food was delish; great menu!!! atmosphere was dope deff would bring the kids back!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
