Boise, Idaho 83706
This location as been around since mine and my husbands childhood and I can personally say the owner has treated it and it's customers with love and care. Dale the owner has treated my family so well and the place is always clean and easy to make great memories with my kids. I can't express enough how much my family loves and appreciates this location and it's owner for never failing to go above and beyond each and every day. If you are trying to find a place to take the rowdy kids with a cheep and tasty me
Emerald lanes was a pinnacle of my childhood in Boise. I was lucky to run into the owner that i still owe a pool Q from ~17 years ago. It's changed over the years for the better and I love what they've got going here. Wife and I had a blast bowling, i look forward to bringing my kids here soon!
I've loved this place!! A bunch of friends and I come here at least once a week and we rent a pool table and just hangout! Seriously a great place, solid prices, and fun atmosphere. Not perfect, but can't ask for perfect with the price! Only gripe I have is the parking lot is a bit sketchy sometimes at night, just with low lighting and whatnot, love this place though!
Absolutely amazing service. Have gone here loads and loads and loads of times. Lanes are amazingly taken care if. If the lane has issues they are fast to fix the issues [ball stuck][pins in gutters] . Will continuously go
Spent $250 on lanes and $50 in food; not allowing someome to bring in a cake for a birthday party is wild. From the rude service, to the feel devalued as a customer, it sucks because I really want to love this place. This place has come so far from an aethstetics and games standpoint. It is a bummer the experience isn't a total experience.
We haven't been for awhile but a spontaneous date night took us to Emerald Lanes for Cosmic Bowling. ?? always a fun time for a great price with friendly staff, loud music and fluorescent lights on a Friday night.
Fun and relatively affordable. Clean. Decent bar food not over priced.
I've lived here since the 90s and have actually never been here. Great bowling lanes. Lots of arcade games and 5 pool tables. The place was really clean. The bar was kinda odd with being so bright. The atmosphere was better in the bowling alley. Most of the help was great except my bartender. No matter how nice I was she was grumpy until I went to leave a tip of course. Honestly I think Westys is just more my speed. But solid place. Bonus was the Great little outdoor seating area.
I'm impressed by this bowling alley. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is pretty up to date. Solid arcade and a bar while you wait for your lanes to be available. It has plenty of space. Friday, Saturday nights get pretty busy and it is recommended to keep your group at 6 or less if you want to bowl next or with each other.
Hidden Gem! This place was so fun for the kids. Inside is super clean, well lit. The staff were all friendly. It was a great experience attending a birthday party there. We look forward to our next visit.
Fun place for a birthday party. Pros- Food came out fast, music was great, and service people were excellent! Cons - No pitchers for sodas, not enough seating for large groups, and more expensive per hour than Meridian Lanes.
I couldn't play, bad knees. But, I had a lot fun watching. The place is bright & pretty, good food & good drinks. Very helpful staff.
Great fun, good beer and food, and awesome service. I'll keep coming here for another 15 years. Thanks for always making it fun Dale and family.
absolutely the best place to spend time with friends and family in the valley. great prices, affordable drinks, incredibly friendly staff. visit emerald lanes!
Best lanes in Boise hands down! Great service, great bowling, great bar! This is a wonderful night out for dates or family! Taking advantage of the deals it's a great way to try it out too! No excuses come bowl and enjoy!
Amazing alley and yes I think it's the "Best Alley in the Valley!"
I always have a blast there. Arcade has new games but small selection as well as subpar prizes. Bowling is top notch with hourly prices and clean shoes
Clean, affordable fun with a great atmosphere and well-stocked bar for the "older" set. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Definitely the best bowling alley in the valley. First time here was a great experience. Fair priced, clean and active staff. Kids had a great time! We will be bowling here from now on
I went bowling with my daughters and grandsons the other day. I haven't bowled in probably 10 years. We had a great time. Definitely will be back!
Fun place to bowl, they've got excellent chicken strips and fries, and there are arcade videogames there.
We took our 12 year old son and friends here for his birthday party. We spent almost $400 only to be disappointed with the service. A gentleman who works there was extremely rude and made it very apparent he was annoyed with my son and his friends. We left early based on how uncomfortable and unwelcoming the person working made us feel. Not interested in going back.
Great place! Nice & clean. Staff is very friendly, helpful and quick! We celebrated 2 birthdays here and we always had a great time!
Nice and friendly atmosphere the lanes are brand new and clean Bella food is good
Came here for a date with my wife. We had a lot of fun. And the cosmic bowling is a great time. The food they served was great and good and the music and music videos they had where all 80s, and 90s, but still enjoyed it very much.
Left my name and number for them to call me when the lane was open? never got a call or text message.
So fun! Did 2 hours for 2 people...a bit much, try 1 hour next time. But it was fun, and lots of people to high five!!!
Affordable and friendly! Great place to enjoy with family. Bowling, small arcade and a few pool tables available.
It was a decent place with reasonable prices. Everything is kind of cramped together, but plausibly not atypical of bowling alleys.
Super oily lanes my favorite!! I did feel like the pins had alot more action then usual. But great place to bowl and get a beer.. friendly staff aswell!!
Love that they have a full time bar! So fun and so close to my house!
Establishment was very clean. I know I came here years ago and it very much felt like an old school bowling alley. However this time it felt much cleaner, well managed, and much more family friendly. Bathrooms were clean, refreshments were good. All in all I would feel comfortable bringing my family back. The only downside of this place in my opinion is the outside. The shopping/busniess complex looks very run down and the parking lot is in need of repairs. The inside of the bowling alley was a surprise com
Great staff and great people who have fun here
Our favorite place for shooting pool in the valley. Friendly and professional staff, excellent food, and a good selection of beer on tap.
Super fun place and nice atmosphere
A weekday off of work with no kids, decided to go bowling. Never thought it would cost nearly $80 for one hour of wearing someone else's shoes, food was not horrible but also not worth the price. The lady who was working the bar/kitchen was very nice though. Shes the one who earned the two out 5 stars for emerald lanes. $32 for an hour really? Maybe it would seem okay if that included the shoes.
Had an awesome night with sober group. Location is clean fun friendly and reasonably priced. Good music and football playing too
The birthday bowling party that we had there was great! The staff was very nice and the prices were decent.
The only place I found all ages pool. Charge by the hour rather than the game. Drinks are good. Snack bar. And arcade seemed decent as well.
I don't bowl often but have been coming to emerald lanes since I was a kid. Fun place. Little pricier than I remember but probably pretty norm. It was $15 per person for an hour of Bowling early on a Saturday.
Loved this place! Fun for everyone. Friendly staff. Snack bar and an arcade as well as alcohol if you would like to wet your whistle. Bitcoin ATM as well as a regular ATM on site. They charge by the hour and it was very reasonable. Clean and inviting. Table and chairs to sit and snack or drink if you're there with a group or if you're taking a break. Large modern screens with fun animations to reflect your performance on your last frame and to keep you posted on your progress. Will be back soon for sure.
Very clean, tons of fun to be had. Overall, great place!
Always cool looking and a fun place to bowl. Foods a bit pricy like all places are but over all the amount of lanes and balls are good.
By far one of the best bowling alley in the area
I wish I took more pictures of the place but I LOVED it. My friends and I came here on a whim and we loved it, we're going to be coming back very soon hopefully as a regular thing. the guys & gals behind the food counter were super fun and easy to talk to and the food was pretty good, out of fried pickles though which was sad!! great laid back atmosphere & a fun place to with friends :)
The gentleman here are absolutely amazing. They have so much patience & kindness. When something goes wrong on the lanes they are very quick to fix it. They have ramps & are set up for wheelchair access if needed. The arcade/kitchen area is fun too. Always well kept & clean.
Its a fun retro vibe place to go. Affordable compared to the alternatives. The only negative is some of those balls seriously need to be retired. Looks like they've spent time on a shooting range.
The prices are outrageous 17$ for a pitcher ya right, id rather buy a case and chill in the car. I also ordered a platter for 13$ no celery sticks and they ask if you want sause with that are you kidding me . Id gladly take my business elsewhere
Great place for bowling! Charge is by the hour whenever Ive gone so I can fit in 3 games for cheap
Good place to go play pool or bowl with friends
The bad reviews about service are inaccurate and sound like Karen?s they accuse the staff of being. I've been bowling here for a few years now and not only have they consistently upgraded equipment, drink and food options, but the service has always been great. Especially the guys up front who are courteous and helpful when something goes wrong. My only complaint would be how oily the lanes are, but that's a personal preference. So overall A+ and I recommend this alley to friends and family!
Fun time, and family friendly.
Good place to have a good time with the family. Cool blacklight atmosphere.
My favorite alley in the valley, as well as my favorite staff.
My first visit to Emerald Lanes in close to 8 years. I barely recognized the place. Quality remodel and a bright fun atmosphere. Down side is they have hard plastic chairs around little round tables. Get some cushions and some couches already, You're a bowling alley, act like a bowling alley!
Had a great time! Clean, friendly atmosphere, nice lanes, helpful and laid back customer service. Will definitely go again.
We were there during the day Saturday. Atmosphere was good for kids and there were a few birthday parties happening. The facility is clean and the scoring was real easy for non- bowlers. Five people playing three games was almost $70. A little pricey I thought, but fun.
I love this place so much! Quite the place to have a fun time. I only wish that they restocked their bowling shoes so that my partner and I could get the pairs we want in our size! I also wish that we would get more than just 3 chicken strips for almost $10.
Been here several times! Always have fun. Did my daughter's 5 year birthday party there!
This was the worst experience you could have. The owner has not an ounce of customer service in her. She used profanities with young children around told customers to leave and never come back, this was all because of her mistake. We called and asked to reserve for a birthday party and we were told they do not take reservations, when we arrived to get a table on opening we were told to move because the table sat at was reserved. This was just the start, wrong orders, profanity, and down right rudeness. I wo
We have done company parties here 3 of the past 4 years. The one year we missed we nearly had a company revolt. We typically have just over 150 people attend and the results are amazing. This is a great facility with great staff. Very clean and great service. Thank you
Was super expensive for a group of 4- cost us $70 for two games. Otherwise it was really nice- I enjoyed the atmosphere and the lights added a really cool vibe to the experience! Definitely watch out if you're prone to epileptic seizures because they strobe the lights after like 8.
Went their with my family and best friend had a great time! Best family fun night we've had in a long time! The only issue was it was very expensive for 2 games for the 5 of us. I wish they had a group deal or something to make it more affordable for family fun on a budget we would go a lot more. Just can't afford 66 bucks for 2 games
We got there about a half an hour before League game started and they were able to squeeze us in. We had our two and a half year old with us and they effortlessly set up the bumpers and little plastic ramp for him. So thoughtful! The toddler shoes only go down to size 8, FYI.
Emerald Lanes is a well-rounded bowling alley. One of the highlights of the alley is the exceptional chicken wings. They are some of the best you'll find at a bowling alley, with juicy and flavorful meat that's cooked to perfection. The wings are a must-try for anyone who visits Emerald Lanes. In addition to the food, Emerald Lanes also offers a solid selection of beers and drinks. Whether you prefer a classic beer or a craft brew, you'll find something that you like. The drinks menu has something for ever
my kids went there last night and were harassed by super rude staff. they described an incredibly hostile environment. creepy mustached bartender started yelling at their group because they had brought water bottles- even insisted on smelling all of them even though they are obviously children. never letting them return. do not recommend. would give zero stars if possible.
Very clean and well run establishment. Employees were friendly and courteous.
Great staff and a ton of fun. The food wash great too. It was all around a good family outting. It was clean and didn't have that old building smell either. Great selection of fun things to do in the arcade too. The prices are great and affordable.
Our friend group ranges from 20-27 years old. We always go bowling because it's something we can all enjoy. Four of us ordered drinks and our 20 year old friend ordered a water. Our waitress was pleasant and didn't give us any issue, she checked the ID?s of those who ordered drinks and that was that. 10 minutes later another waitress walks over and just stands 5 feet from our table staring at all of us for like 10 minutes. Our waitress then comes over and whispers with her for a minute. Our waitress then pr
WORST PLACE EVER!!!! I would give this place ZERO stars. My friends and I came to drink and the old bartender lady thought it was ok to snatch our drinks because someone who was of age had an expired license. regardless of the situation the bartender had no business snatching our drinks out of our hands like that. I called and spoke to the manager and he was on her side when she was in the wrong. This place has terrible customer service and the young girls who work at the bar stalk you and snitch. I will ne
My two star review is coming from the women that worked in the food court area. They could use some work on customer service. Despite the quality of service from the food court, we had exceptional service from the gentlemen at the front desk. They were very helpful!! We won't be returning even if they have the best prices in town!!
Nice lanes and friendly employees. We went there on a Thursday night, kind of late, and it was nearly deserted. Music was fine, not too loud. Everything looks new and clean, although pretty spare in the appointments. The tables and chairs set up at each lane are the simplest variety, for example, but clean and adequate. After our we began or second game, I asked an employee if there was a way to use the touchscreen to look at the scores from the first game, and he offered to print them out for us. We
I love this place. My family and I have been coming here for years. Every visit is great. The bowling is fun, pool is great and the customer service is awesome!
Love coming here. The GF's niece had her birthday here. Always a great experience. Food was delish, beer on point, employees are so nice and helpful. Tthe bowling and games are fantastic. All in all a place I love to come back to over and over.
FUN PLACE! Good family friendly place for a mix of all ages . They are killing it on the cosmic bowling fun, pool tables available, fun arcade set up. Separate bar area affordable drinks and good "Bowling alley bar food" . We'll be back!
Had a great time with friends
I felt like it was a really good deal. All the staff was nice and a very clean place too. They have arcade games along with pool tables too. And they have beer on draft :-)
Went in with my friend and her family and we asked for the gutter rails (we are terrible at bowling) and they said no! They asked if there were any children that would need them (we are teens) I just feel if we are paying we should be able to use the rails!!
We've been several times; it's the perfect blend of kid and adult fun. Good prices, fun games, great drinks.
We had an awesome mother's day here everyone had so much fun the employees were very nice and were on it any time we needed anything our lane stopped working for a second and they had already switched us to the next lane B4 we had to say anything. It was Great. Best ever
Less lanes than Westys but just as good. Lanes and computers upgraded. Large dining/bar area. 4 to 5 pool tables. Friendly staff. Laid back.
Love bringing my kiddos here! So much fun!
??This Bowling Alley has a Great Atmosphere and has been around since I was a kid ?? and I can Definitely say they have made a Lot of Nice Improvement throughout the years! ??.. Full Bar with Snacks ???? Arcade for the Kids ??.. Heck, You can even Buy a Custom Bowling Ball and Shoes at the Front Counter and Sign Up for the Bowling Leagues with your Friends! ??
The lanes are well kept and the staff is really nice. Besides bowling they have pool tables and in the bar they have multiple dart boards. The drinks from the bar are real good and the bar tender is a sweetheart
My 9 year old says "it was the best birthday party ever!" Thanks for the great time. The kids had a blast, there was good beer for the adults and the pizza did not suck. The staff was super helpful, the kids also loved the arcade games but there wasn't so many as to be overwhelming and the party area was plenty of room. Thanks for making our day awesome!
Best alley in the valley! Clean, fun, great prices. Super friendly staff. Definitely show up early for cosmic bowling
I've been going here for years.. I went the other day and bought a new setup for my wife.. Ball, bag and shoes.. They drilled the ball on sight within 5 minutes.. I tried calling all the other bowling allies, and they wouldn't even make an exception to buy shoes unless the pro shop was opened.. TOP NOTCH customer service from Emerald lanes. Thanks for all the help guys. My wife loves her new setup! I'm a customer for life with you guys
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
