This arcade was so fun to come to with family but I'm not sure what happened it's not mediocre at best. The games can be fun but there is barely any games. They once had many games and many variety's of prizes but now you can only get balls and weird squish animals? I'm sadly disappointed about how this arcade is now. Big downgrade.
Great place, $20 = 88 tokens. Games range from 1 - 4 tokens. You can play normal arcade games or win tickets & earn prizes. Staff is always friendly & patient with the kids. You also can save your ticket slips to save up for big prizes. We have our eye on a Nintendo Switch ?? cool bonus, it's right next to a discount theatre inside the mall.
Loved this place for years, but the last year has been downhill. At least half the games are out of order and the other half of those are glitchy. Or way less tickets paying out.
Great place for the family to enjoy ...games from the 80s to current. Pleasant and helpful staff. Totally has the nostalgic feel of arcades of yeaster day. My favorites that they have are the old Simpsons arcade game ...ski ball.
Stumbled across this place and decided to play $5 of games with my son. I haven't been to that many arcades but this place is CHEAP! Arcades are usually a $1 or $2 per game and this place is less than half that (depending on what you're playing). We played multiple games of skeeball, bowling and other random ticket prize games on just $5. Employee behind the counter was nice and helpful. We will definitely be back to play more before heading back home.
This place was absolutely amazing. It's not crazy expensive for 30 bucks. You're gonna play games for an hour or more. The grandma and the son here and they both had a blast playing games together just hanging out. Good vibes nice people. The guy that was upfront was incredibly nice and helped us. I wish I could remember his name, but this was an absolutely amazing experience. My child remember the rest of his life.
It is a very fun place to bring your kids for a good price
Loved it fun all around for the whole family and nice hours 11am-10pm.??
The selection is very small. Many of the machines werent working, but there was a technician there fixing some of them. However the pricing is fine.
My experience was interrupted by a particular staff. I walked into the arcade with my friend and we were mapping out what games we would like to play, during us finding the games we wanted to play as we were rudely stopped and asked in a certain tone if we had a card. We said not at the moment then were asked to leave. Because of this experience instead of buying the card we left for a different arcade.
This place really takes their anti loitering policy up to 1000% Walking through the mall with my 3 year old, when he sees the arcade and wants to go inside. We go look around for 5 minutes and boom we are being kicked out for loitering. We were not bothering any of the 4 other patrons, being disruptive, or hogging the machines. Staff needs to take a chill pill. Would definitely not recommend this as a family friendly place
Disappointed. I liked going with my kids here from time to time. I enjoyed playing the ring toss game because if I was doing well I could hit 850 for the bonus tickets 1 out of 4 plays. Each time I went I would spend at least $60 and walk out with 2,000-3,000 tickets, as I was saving them to get my kids one of the big stuffed animals. A few weeks ago I made the mistake of hitting the bonus multiple times in front of the counter guy, so the next week when I came in, the score to get the ticket bonus was in
It was a sad day today as my boyfriend and I decided that we aren't going to the arcade anymore. One of our favorite games (that we win at frequently) was made harder to play. When we asked he said that too many people came in and were winning so he made it harder. What's the point of going to an arcade and not trying to win a bonus? (Just to be clear the game is hard as it is and we played it almost 15 times and didn't win a single bonus today) We've gone there for 4 years and today we decided we're don
Been a while since I've been in here. Wasn't impressed when I took the boys last wkend and found that they switched to cards. Idk... there's just something about having your own tokens to feed into machines and counting your own tickets.
Cute little arcade. Small selection, but decent prices AND prizes at fair ticket costs. A gem in the middle of an otherwise boring little town. Picture: a good quality small stuffed penguin I turned in 1100 tickets for ? tickets I won with about an hour and a half of play and little to no skill.
We had an absolute BLAST!!!! Jurassic Park was our favorite. Grandma still sucks at Guitar Hero lol
Loved it!! Took my kids here yesterday and we had a blast. So glad I chose electric rainbow over Chuck e cheese. Just as much fun and I didn't have to eat gross pizza. 5 of us, and several hours later, cashed out with over 4,000 tickets and spent less than $100, compared to the $300 I spent at my last visit to Chuck e cheese in 2 hrs.
Friendly staff, super cute, not too cramped! Good selections of games and the kids loved it.
Took my younger brother here to burn some time and we ended up spending over an hour here. It was great and they have a wonderful selection of games to play ranging from classic, to more modern. We spent over and hour at Electric Rainbow and we only spent $20 which was nice. The staff were friendly and considerate, and willing to let us take our time when selecting which prizes we wanted to purchase with our tickets. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning soon. We might catch
Staff was very unfriendly small selection of games and price point is a tad steep
This has always been one of our spots that we stop at for special days like birthdays and long weekends. My two young ones 4 and 6 as of now love it. They have a wide variety of games for all ages and the tickets you win are fun for the kids to get little prizes.
Great small arcade that is very affordable to play! A great mix of new and old games are avaliable. My only critique is the amusement connect card swipers, you must wait until tickets are added up to swipe your card again, unlike other brands like embed and intercard.
The person at the counter was amazing. It was my daughters birthday, she didn't have enough tickets to get the slime, she was a few off, he gave it to her anyways. He did the same for my other daughter. He really made their night!!! Thank you to whomever you were.
Always a fun place! The games are old and classic, and granted some will freeze up on you but the workers with comp you your tokens no problem. I am sad, having grown up with the location, they no longer have tokens to insert to play the games but they do have tap cards. Those have worked great! It's just fun to use the tokens and I will miss them. Also if you're not from the area, this arcade is not a Dave n Buster's, it's a cute little arcade where you can earn fun little carnival stuffed animals and cand
Had an Absolute BLAST taking my daughter here! I loved the games and got to get a nostalgic kick back by playing old school Galaga. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Sioux Falls!
I love this place! They have a bunch of games where you win tickets and a great selection of classic arcade games.A great place to bring the family. The kids can try and win tickets to score a sweet prize and you can try and beat the top score in Galaga. They have an air hockey table, several pinball machines, Skee-ball, and two player racing. The staff has always been very friendly.
Good fun for the kids, the staff tried to clean machines as guests used them, especially the machine that issued the cards. Nice variety of machines to play and every one seemed to have a great time. Across from movie theater. No public restroom which was odd..
Was a lot of fun. You go there to have fun. Not for the prizes. You could buy all those prizes for less than 20 bucks. But you're there to have fun and kill some time. The staff is very nice. All the machines worked without issue. Good rate for Tokens per dollar. Good variety of Arcade games, Pinball machines and ticket games.
As someone who remembers the old video game arcades of the 70s and 80s, it is nice to still have a place like that in Sioux Falls. Electric Rainbow always feels clean and nice. Games are of a wide variety and the staff is helpful and curteous. Great places to spend some times with your kids or grandkids.
It was fun half hour. My child is 4. She had a little fun but wished there were more games suited for her. However she did like the bowling game, a new twist on the classic skeet ball.
One of the last true arcades in Sioux Falls. About half of the arcade is ticket dispensing games, but the other half is video games. Most are older school games like Tetris, NFL Blitz, Area 51... Some of the games have seen better days. Great place to take your kids and be a kid at the same time
Electric Rainbow is one of the OG arcades in Sioux Falls. They've been around since I was a kid. Still a decent place to go with a good variety of games to play.
We always have fun when we go to the Electric Rainbow! Unfortunately, one of the newer employees who gives out prizes isn't very kind and rolled his eyes and sighed at us multiple times tonight and the kids noticed. Handing out prizes to young kids when there are so many options in a noisy, flashy environment is going to be extremely trying (for everyone) and requires the right person to do the job. I highly recommend the owners discuss this with their staff, otherwise parents might be less inclined to b
Best arcade in the area. Really miss the jurassic world game, but we love coming in to play air hockey and skee ball. The prizes offered for tickets for games are actually worth winning which is awesome and our kids love it. By far our favorite thing to do in the area.
Decide to for a fun night at Electric Rainbow, results were not as expected. Had difficulties using the kiosk and in return the customer service was poor quality. He treated me as if I had intent to ruin his night. Overall, disappointed.
homeboy at the desk needs to take some happy pills. he decided to yell at my bf for using the wrong door and threatened he'd have to pay if it broke. try putting a sign up mate. cheer up! ya only live once fool.
What a great place to bring the kids on snow days, rainy days. Really anyday you'd like to relive your childhood through the smiling eyes and excitement of your own Children. Staff is always amazing. Very helpful and gratuitous.
We stopped here after a movie. All of the machines worked and worked well. My daughter and I had a great time. Good selection of prizes to win with the tickets you have earned.
Awesome friendly staff. Great place for kids. Prizes are way better than the larger corporate arcades like Chuck E. Cheese...my kid actually saved his tickets and won a full sized table top arcade game
It's good the new changes are cool but money send to go faster. Fun place :)
Fun place when they actually unlock the doors. But when it's 10 minutes past the scheduled open time and you've got 2 employees standing there but not unlocking that's no fun. No business from me
We've always loved going to electric rainbow. The staff is very friendly, the machines are kept up. Prizes are plentiful. Most of all, it feels clean when you enter. This is the place to blow $20 for entertainment.
Best arcade in Sioux Falls for kids and for your pocket book ($20 bucks gets you 80 tokens and most games only cost 1 token). Quality prizes can be exchanged for even the smallest number of tickets. Prizes are unique and unlike what you find at Chucky Cheese. The arcade is on the smaller side with regards to square footage but packed with quality games. We always visit this arcade before or after a movie but sometimes we just come to the Western Mall for this arcade.
They employee was super rude, she said a comment when I walked into the arcade after the movie, she gave smart and snobby remarks
I took my son to Electric rainbow tonight. He was crying because he want the green ring he is 4 years old so we spent 50.00 dollors on trying to win a green ring granite we didnt win one and some younger men helped out and spent 30 to 50 of there own money to win my son a ring yet its a cran game and they did have on there about being cashed in but i didnt see that. Im not mad about the money. Im mad about the kindness and the memory of that ring they took from my son.
love this place. they did a great job fixing it up after new owners bought it. many great games and great prizes.
Well, me and the kids had another great evening at the Electric Rainbow! Turns out, it WAS worth going back, and we had just as much fun as the first time. So thank you Electric Rainbow for providing an (old school type of feeling) arcade that kids and adults can enjoy equally. At least this big kid anyway! ?? So, to any other "big" kids in the area who enjoyed playing SKEET BALL, PINBALL, MS. PACMAN, and then redeeming your the tickets that you've won for prizes....yup... it's still a good time, and it's
Super fun, love the cards that they use so you dont have to carry around tokens, beat my friend at air hockey, spent about 2 hours there and loved every part of it
It's a good place for a little fun, a little spendy, but good selection of games. They still require face masks and have disinfectant for use. Overall, good place to spend some time!
Enjoy bringing my kids here. We always have a good time, they are usually pretty busy so when it comes time to cashing in tickets and picking prices it can get kind of hectic and crowded, but still a good time
Been going here since i was a kid. Love this place! I have saved over 22,000 tickets and i hope to add more. Would 100% reccomend this place for having fun and getting prizes.
We love this arcade. Plenty of games to play, including skee ball, air hockey, and pinball. They have an ATM if you forgot cash to get coins. Plenty of prizes to pick from when you cash in your tickets.
I been going here since I was 13. Now I take my kids here.... it's fun... Not very many old school arcades left.... Only wish I have is that they bring back Karate Champ ??
So much fun at a great price. We go minimum 3 times per month. They also have games for all ages
Nice little arcade. Great place to take young kids. They can run around the mall and play games. Popcorn from the theater across the hall.
Scam no good quality u can't get nothin .cheap but scam and not clean mean women that was there.
When getting a prize since there are prizes on the same shelf and there is a rainbow ball that says 800 next to it 2 dolphins no sign sayin how many tickets,I asked the ticket worker if the dolphin was the same price as the ball since there was no ticket price and he says are you blind maybe you need to get new glasses and then throws the prizes at me
This is a staple of Sioux Falls. I can't bring my kids there enough. They love it and so do I. I have been going here for 25 years now and I won't stop as long as the doors remain open.
have a blast everytime.. got the tickets on fillable card that you can use over next visit and save up.
My son loves this place. Awesome girl & owner work here!! But a couple of their guy employees could do better! That's all.
Not only did I win a Chinese light up puppy lamp, I contracted SARS too! All jokes aside, my daughter and I did have fun.
My niece is 10 not much you can do with her, but games are always fun. Plus bonus... PRIZES!
Lots of redemption games for kids. Don't forget the old school games and pinball for us big kids, Electric Rainbow has those, too. This is the oldest arcade still open in SF.
It's a fine establishment with entertainment and an excellent atmosphere. It gets busier as you go into the evening though and a lot of the time after movies are finished.
The last couple of times I have been here, there have been multiple games out of order. There used to be way more game to pick from.
I've been going here since I was a kid and now I bring mine there almost once a month
Amazing place! Great way to have a little bit of fun with your kids!
My kid and I loved this place! It was SO MUCH better than other arcade places!
Great value, many updated games, and a couple of young men on staff who are usually there who are kind and helpful.
Love it they're playing arcade good games pinball need I say more fun times skeet ball
A fun place to take the kids! Great games for all ages
Fun arcade for the kids were you can win something nice prizes for a cheap cost.
All games were in working order it was very clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
Great place to bring your kids for ticket and classic arcade games
Loved arcades as a kid and now it's even better to find a gem like this to take my kids.
My bf and I love this place. The staff is always nice and it's always a good time!
I can see y their was nobody there
Love this place! So much more chill than chuck e cheese
Very clean, reasonably priced, great place for kiddos to run around!
Great arcade and really enjoy the classic tekken tag machine they have
Fun for kids, good selection of games, great return ratio of money to tickets
Amazing fun can't wait to bring my kids back
We come here frequently, very fun place!
Staff seems more concerned with their cell phone then the kids. But overall fun with the kids.
Great games, good prices, pretty good prizes too!
Skee-ball is my favorite! Good fun for the kids and adults!
Only good arcades left in town kids enjoy it
Awesome atmosphere. Great for kids. Awesome staff
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
