Customer Reviews

Had an SOLID green chile burger along with the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. I was a little apprehensive that the food was gonna be off due to it being a bowling ally / family center. The menu was also large but they delivered on the food. Ordered the burger medium rare with the sweet potato fries. Absolute heaven. Glad I stopped and my only gripe is that I'm only driving through.

Stopped in on a cross country roadtrip from Spokane to San Antonio. Ordered some food for lunch - was greeted and treated with a smile. Recommend the patty melt.

Great place, excellent burger and rings, service was awesome. Very interesting pictures of the dust bowl on the walls. Unique place. We were just passing through on our way from Indiana to Arizona stopped by for something to eat. Everyone really enjoyed this place. Would recommend to anyone.

My family used to own the bowling alley when it was Dalhart Bowl. So I was shocked by the changes and renovations when I first walked in. The food is some of the best in town. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They saved the original lane markers and have them hanging up throughout the bowling alley and restaurant as wall art. They have an updated arcade for the kids where they can go play when they're done eating or waiting on food. I'm just really impressed with everything done to change and modern

Cheese burger and double cheese burger awesome. Service was great quick very attentive waitresses.

This place is a fun little place! Seems similar to Pinstack/Maine Event/Dave & Buster's. We stopped here during a long road trip and my friends did NOT want to go in! They said it looked too sketchy from the outside! They said, "There are no windows!" It was hilarious because when we went in, it looked super cool and fun! We just ate there and didn't play any games but the food was good! I enjoyed it.

We had our parents 50th Anniversary surprise party there. The wait staff the food the atmosphere was just all great and of course I definitely recommend it

A pleasant surprise. I had the green chili burger and it was delicious. My son had the dust bowl burger and it looked like it had two 1/2 lb patties, just huge.

Maybe it was the great food (the Reuben is heavenly). Maybe it was the service- the waitress was phenomenal. Or maybe it was the atmosphere, because the people I was with are some of the best to ever walk this Earth. Anyway you put it, 10/10 will absolutely be back!

Review: The bowling alley is conveniently located with easy access, including accommodations for wheelchair users. The place stands out for its cleanliness and a pleasant, family-friendly atmosphere. However, there are areas for improvement. The availability of lighter bowling balls with more weight variety would be a great addition, as currently, only balls starting from #7 are offered, which are too heavy for children. Additionally, most of the balls have very small finger holes, making it difficult for

The food is good, I recommend the munchies appetizer. Service is good , depending on who waits on you. Fantastic for kids and parties.

They have a varied, interesting menu. The Reuben with sweet potato fries was quite good. The Southwest Chicken was very good. It is loud in there, but a fun place for local people. There were people of all ages and it was a comfortable, down-home atmosphere. The Map told us to drive around the back from the east through a small RV park... don't go that way! Enter directly from the HWY, US53.

Wow!! Great burger and sweet potato fries. Wish I didn't live so far away, Would definitely be back!!

The service was great and I had a amazing experience because of the staff they were so kind I had a great time at dust bowl on my school trip I am 11

Friendly service and fun atmosphere! It would have been great if you could have put a smaller amount on a gamecard but $20 was more than I wanted to spend passing through. The food was tasty and we ordered the special, hamburger and steak fingers. I did not like being hit with an uncharged for a substitute of removing fries.

Great atmosphere for families!! Ordered the chicken fried steak dinner, and it was a huge portion and tasted amazing!! Definitely recommend!!

Best Damned Burger in the Panhandle. People are as authentic and nice as can be. I stop every chance I get.

What a great place to stop and entertain the kids on our way to Red River!! Kids were delighted to have a place to run around and play! Everyone loved the virtual reality machine!!

We needed lunch on the way from Colorado to East Texas and stopped here. It was the neatest place and the food was absolutely delicious!! Everything we got was great and a good welcome back to Texas! Service was wonderful too!

Friendly staff, lots of gaming opportunities and quick service. Great wings.

I have to say fast service after we put our orders food came in quickly and hot. Taste I would put 3 of 5 ( Ok nothing special). Would I go back..if i feel like to have a hamburger I may.

In the top 3 of the chicken fried steaks I've had in my life. I'm a professional big back, so I've had lots.

The food was okay. My mashed potatoes didn't taste right but the waitress was too busy talking in the back to come and see how our food was. She was very rude and when I told her about the potatoes she just dismissed us.

So much fun in a cute, friendly small town. Great service, Good food, even better drinks. Perfect for date night or family time.

Good food, great service, and a friendly place.

Playing in a tournament and had alot of time between games. Came and ate here with the team and families. Had a great time and kept boys entertained for hours. Cool little spot and a very sweet owner!

Went to dust bowl for fish and chips and it the best fish around here. The waitress made a mistake. She apologized and I told her no problem we all make mistakes. I love eating fish and chips at the fish bowl. Thanks so much for everything.

Highly recommend, we were passing through on a road trip from East TN, service was great, I ask for food recommendations from our waitress and ordered the green chili ham and cheese with onion rings, it was one of the best sandwiches I've had, my hubby ordered a burger with fries and it was great as well. Prob won't be back in this area but if we are we will def go there again!

Wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. Food is fabulous we have never had anything bad there. We dine in and get take out often.

Great food in a very unexciting part of Texas. Game room, bowling, bar, and dining.

I came expecting it to be "ok" and entertain the kids for an evening while traveling. Wrong! It is AMAZING! The food is so much better than you would expect. Totally blown away to have the best wings I've ever had. For real. Cold beer, good pizza, clean. This place is a diamond in the rough.

Services is exceptional food is always good. The ladies can just smile a bit more...lol. Very nice place for eating and family fun!!

The best chicken fried steak I've ever eaten! And I am a CFS connoisseur. The crust was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of crunch and the meat was so tender it almost melted in your mouth. The green beans & onion rings were also very good.

This place is an absolute have to stop at establishment. I was in the semi, and had easy parking. The atmosphere is cheerful and friendly. There is plenty to do here, bowling, arcade games and enough TV screens to watch every game and rodeo that's being broadcasted. The music kept the upbeat mood, yet a conversation was easily had without yelling or needing repeated. The food was exceptional, thanks to the amazing staff. I ordered the Gutterball steak, med rare. It was a bit overcooked, but it was st

A great place to eat some awesome food and having a cold one in the process. But there is other drinks available which is still great.

Awesome cheese burger and hot crispy fries! The wife said her Reuben was delicious too! Service was great and there's a nice vibe to the atmosphere! We'll be stopping in every time we drive through Dalhart! Great job, Dust Bowl!!

I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years and it is always dependable. The food will be good, the restrooms and the restaurant will be clean. Has a small town feel, everyone knows everyone in the place.

We stopped overnight in Dalhart, Tx on our way home to Abilene, Tx from Colo Springs last night. My grandson picked The Dust Bowl for dinner, Monday, 8pm. I had a generous portion of chicken fried steak/gravy, green beans and onion rings. The chicken fried steak was hands down the VERY BEST I have ever eaten! It was sooo tender and the crust was light and crunchy and a large portion. The green beans were seasoned very well and the onion rings were fresh and crunchy! Wow! This is a five star place! And

went in there to eat we were starving plus we were from out of town. Went in to order. they took the people order of food in front of us. But when it was our turn we couldn't order. they said their kitchen was too hot and were way behind, but you could order appetizers. cute place but if u see a lot of cars there don't go cuz they get too overwhelmed

We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was at the Dust Bowl Bar and Grill. Arcades and bowling alleys are not known for their food. From the chicken fried steak to the salmon salad this restaurant is a 5 star place.

Spending half your time in an over priced bowling alley waiting for lanes to be serviced was kinda lame. At least once a frame with 5 people we had to wait on a high school kid to try to fix issues, scores were irrelevant because it would randomly assign strikes and spares. Lane beside us was having the same issues as well. Food side was good but nothing could make up for the bad bowling experience, I wasn't even the one that paid and I still feel ripped off.

Yep. We eat here. Found a good salad.

Overall the best active service in Dalhart for food and drinks. We appreciate your business ??

Take out! Coming from Maine , never been that keen on tacos or any Mexican foods! I love salads so decided to try the taco salad bowl. It was one of the best foods I've eaten here in Texas. Any side I wanted ! Excellent!!!

This food was very greasy BUT soooo delicious. We were on our way to Vegas and decided to stop and get some lunch!

Great place to take the family, good food and arcade for the kids bowling, I had the blt,and a side of breaded gizzards.doesnt look like much from the outside but step in a different world.

I have 2 (older) teenagers and we are just passing through on a road trip & I thought this would be something fun to do. We are eating great food (old school cherry limeade!), the kids are bowling, and we are all having a fantastic time!! Highly recommend!! (So much laughter!!)

Good steaks. Arcade games. And you can bowl a few games! Great halfway stop between Waco, Texas, and Raton, NM, or Trinidad, CO.

For the title to be "Dust Bowl" & (as a person that loves to bowl) you would think the pricing would be more bowler friendly especially in a small town as well as it being during the week lol. (Common sense ain't too common these days I played myself on that one) I was kind of excited to be passing through town and maybe get a game or two in (which I do often), But unfortunately @ almost $30 & after asking the 4th employee I finally got the pricing details ??. Looks clean on the inside none the less ????

This place was awesome to me. I was passing through town and had to find a place to stay and something to eat. The young lady that answered the phone was my waitress she made everything wonderful as far as having options help me find their location when the GPS failed, the pizza I ordered was great. I will definitely be back whenever I'm coming through dalhart and I recommend everyone to come to this place.

You can say we're regulars here!! Always great staff and great food! If you're in Dalhart this needs to be a stop!! Plus their greenbeans are the best!!

Good food service excellent

Great Place to catch a Real Meal! Hospitable and friendly. Keep up the good work!

The green chili cheeseburger was great. Service was excellent. Very clean.

This food was really good and had lots of fun playing games. If you have a chance check them out!

Nice spot to stop for a bit. Had Chicken fried steak, onion rings, both good.

Awesome place, great menu, had lunch buffet & salad bar. In & out quick.

The food delicious. The service wonderful. Overall just an awesome, fun time for the family or for just yourself!

Food was not good sweet potato fries were burnt, mashed potatoes smelt and tasted sour

I got the turkey wrap and it was good!

Fish & chips very good. Excellent service. A happy place to be.

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing it completely finished but I was one of the contractors who put the scoring system in.. very kool watching everything get put together.. the owner?s are very kool people

Food is not the best, not much variety and very pricey, small place and not games for the kids

It is in a bowling alley with an open, casual seating area (with a large TV) and great food ??

Great chicken fried steak and great service!

The food is great and I love the atmosphere.

Amazing service. Great food. Haven't had a bad experience.

Very good food, great atmosphere, and attentive staff.

Great food in a bowling alley. Who would have thought.

The food was delicious and it looks amazing in the inside keep up the good work

Really fun and food was very good foe a bowling alley

Web says it closes at 10pm, and they shut down around 9:15. Bad for business travel. Too bad.

This is not a full bar...only beer and wine...our server was short with us when asked about it...the place is clean and nice...we only stayed for a beer

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
